The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Today is one of those days where I could have used another weekend. :D
Not just one day, mind you-- but an entire weekend.

I was good yesterday, and I made sure I took it easy. I even scrapped 2 LO's for Oct challenges. Tossed a frozen pizza in the oven with some of the leftovers so I didn't have to cook anything for dinner.

Cait thinks that she doesn't have strep, just a cold. How crazy is it that that is *good* news? It must be the change in weather because I am feeling a bit like a cold too. Or maybe allergies, since I get them in the fall. I am only going to be puttering around here today. I have things on my To-Do list that will be needed to get crossed off, but nothing too major.

It is also supposed to be nice outside, so I need to get some more of my gardens ready for fall. I think that I saw my area might be getting a frost this week. (blergh!) I want to soak up as much sun as I can while it is warm.

That is it from me. Nothing terribly exciting and I hope to keep it that way!

Hugs!!!

Saturday:

Nancy- Jimmy the Server sounds like he was a good guy! Awesome that your sons got extra food. I didn't realize that it was a for a Devils event, and I am not surprised that made it even more fun.
Thank you for the advice in not stressing about the details of the party. I kept that in my head all morning.

Trudy- how did the weather turn out for the Royal visit? But you are right, I am sure that they are used to rain hee hee!!! That is great about the women on the news about how to address royalty. It is a nice change from all of the gloom and doom.

Note to self: Stay off of news channels and websites with the "debate" tonight. Enough of the win/lose scenarios. Why can't a debate be about actual policies, not who get make the most insults and lies? I am looking at you, Trump.

Great advice about if it ain't broke... and you were right, there were only 3 deviled eggs leftover, so they must have tasted fine. But next time, I am sticking to my non-recipe recipe.
I am with you 110% about Diana Gabaldon. She is brilliant. I picked up a book about the Tudor Queens a couple of weeks ago. It had gotten good reviews and was written by a historian, so I figured it would be good. Nope. It read like a history book. I put it down after a while.
Did I tell you ladies that I read All the Missing Girls? That was pretty good, it tells the story of a missing girl but it goes backward. It took me a while to get used to that format, but I did enjoy it. It was way better than Girl On the Train. That one did not live up to the hype at all.

Rae- I am going to look that book up on GoodReads. I always have such good intentions of keeping my bookshelves there up to date and then I fail miserably LOL Oh no, that is scary when your computer doesn't recognize a drive. ATM, my computer is making me nervous. It keeps making a noise that I don't recognize. It is probably nothing but yikes... Since I spent all of my gift money on our tattoos, I am now worried that all of my necessities (cell phone, computer, iPod) will all break down and I have no money to replace them. #firstworldproblems

I don't think my dogs have stolen food off a table. but Harley ate a box of choc covered cherries that was under the Christmas tree, all wrapped up. Thankfully, she didn't get sick from that. Oh, and she ate a cheese dog of Caitlyn's when she was little and Cait still is so happy with that memory since she didn't want to eat it hah!!!

Sunday:
Nancy- I haven't seen either of those movies, but they sound like fun.
Hope the Devils get off to a good start today!!

Rae- oh no :( That is not good about the EHD. We used Carbonite for years but then they closed. we started using iDrive last year but it is not a lot of storage for what we can afford. I have my Oscraps kits and my photos and that is about it. I hope that you guy gets all of your stuff saved somehow.
Were you able to do the shoot? That must be hard having only a few weekends for autumn shoots. My backyard is mostly oak trees and they will turn brown and only some of the leaves will fall. But coming up the mountain, we are starting to see a lot of changing over. Caitlyn even said driving home from school is pretty coming part the reservoir and into the higher elevations.
Glad that you are almost there for Beckham's departure. PoorTaz.

Better get my day started. I can tell I am moving slowly from the cold air.

Morning ladies... foggy here this morning, but I think the sun will shine in a bit. The weather says more rain this afternoon :mmph: Well the weekend was as per usual, very busy! DH and I decided to do our hike yesterday instead of on Saturday. We did the Holt Creek hike, one of our favourites. We haven't done it for over a year, so it was nice to see some of the work that has been done on the trail. An addition of a couple of bridges and replacement of some of the hand railing on the steep climb up. It was lovely with the changing leaves and it goes along the edge of the Cowichan River, so pretty! But Rae is right the colours are not as glorious this year, probably because of our crazy weather that we had this summer. I took some pics so hope to get a page done today with those.

Chris - It is nice to hear that you do not have a ton of crazy things to do today! Hooray for you finding your mojo to get a couple of pages done too! I hope that you and Cait are not getting a terrible cold! Perhaps it is the allergies that you get instead. It was fun to see the Royals here, I wish we could have been there in person, but the crowds were huge and it would have been a nightmare! They are such a personable couple and truly genuinely nice! They are off to the Great Bear Rain forest today and it looks like it will be very rainy there today, thats too bad because I think it is a beautiful place to see! I would like to visit there one day myself. So many places that I haven't ever been to in my own province! I am with you on not watching the debate tonight! Not sure which one of these candidates is the lesser of two evils :becky:

Nancy - Wasn't that Canada vs. Russia game just the best!! Nail bitter for a bit, but what a game!! Hubby says that he thinks the U.S. team did not do well because of picking Tortorella as their coach, he can't imagine why they choose him :noidea: Hope that you get to enjoy seeing your Devils soon! Enjoy your walk with Luther today!

Rae - Ugh on the EHD troubles, I would cry if I lost all of the stuff on mine and I am now on the look out for a new one as I know that mine will probably die within the next year. It is getting very full and is getting very slow! I have absolutely everything on it. Every single layout I ever did, all my pics and all my scrapping supplies. I would die if it all went poof!! Hope you get good news from your tech guy!!

Ok I need some breakfast and I have floors to clean and bathrooms to do also :pout: I would rather be scrapping LOL. Enjoy the day ladies!!

Good late late morning - I have been busy - had to get boys off to work, then Luther was begging for his walk so we did that and now with the weather so cool he loves to walk a long time. Yesterday on his evening walk we finally met another German Shepherd, Roxie an 8 month old. She and Luther got along so well. The owners were so impressed how well they did together. Came home called vet as Luther needs his rabies vaccine and then vacuumed the downstairs. Whew I am exhausted. Now though I can rest and get ready for the first home Devils hockey preseason game. I am excited to see hockey IRL. My DH made prime rib and mashed potatoes and broccoli and cheese. It was a great meal. Had fun watching hockey in the afternoon and team Europe defeated Sweden in OT and it was awesome! As my Devils play the Rangers and the goalie is Lundqvist so I always want to see him lose!

Chris so glad that you had a calm day. I am not seeing much color and I think it is because there has not been much rain. Enjoy the calm today too.

Trudy sounds like it the hike was awesome. And yes the Canada game was so fun to watch. Saw the Royals arrived and it looks like the weather was pretty good.

Rae I hope the EHD is mostly recoverable. I am counting on the iCloud to be my backup for my photos which is also my layouts. I rarely go back to redo a page so I just need the jpg files.

Kat Hi

Have a great day all!

What happened to the "warm" weather?? Although I suppose 70 is better than 40, right? ;) It's a dreary grey blah kind of day here. Clouds have been hanging around all day with the threat of rain tonight. We'll see. Actually pretty much the second half of the week is forecast to be wet. Welcome Fall. I'll be in Richmond VA for a conference on Wednesday, so it will be just my luck to be caught in rain there and back. :suspicious:

Rae, good luck with the EHD recovery! I've lost too many files on a number of occasions and it was always the photos that I wished could have been recovered. :( I used a software called Recuva to get quite a few of my files back. There's a free version that does a basic scan, and then I paid - I think - $100 for the professional version and that pulled even more. Not everything, but at that point I was willing to cut my losses. I use Mozy for an online backup solution. I have to keep increasing my storage size and right now it's running me about $20 a month.

Good afternoon, ladies. What a busy day I'm having. Started with getting the dogs out the door this morning for a walk, then home to get a challenge (almost) done and then got a text from Ava's owner, asking if I could babysit today until after dinner. So got a few quick work things out of the way and then Taz and I drove over to get Ava. Now all 3 dogs here but Beckham has to stay with me in the office b/c he gets a little too pushy with Ava, wanting to herd her and bark at her, which Ava doesn't like and snaps back at Beckham. So aside from putting Beckham on a leash and walking around the yard with him while the other two run around, they will be separated today. Ava is on the other side of the baby gate barking at me now, wanting some time with me, so I'll go play for five minutes and then get back to work.

In a nutshell, it got really hot out yesterday afternoon for the outdoor session, the barn wasn't very pretty at all IMO and the sun was harsh and beating down on everyone, making everyone sticky and sweaty. Considering it rained in the morning and was very overcast, I was not expecting that weather in the afternoon. The kids were miserable as they were over-heated. I finished up as quickly as I could, not feeling it was one of my best sessions ever, oh well, I'm sure the family will love the pics anyway.

Chris - glad you got to relax, hope Cait feels better.
Trudy - sounds like a lovely hike. Pics?
Nancy - enjoy the games.

Gotta go...have a great day everyone.
