I am feeling so stressed and I can't seem to keep my brain working in one direction at a time.

I am hurting by all of the news from natural disasters, one after another. Hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes. Political disasters- the newest version of the "healthcare" bill is even worse than it was last week. It is all coming down to bribing Senators for votes based on cooked numbers. How is our government functioning in this way? (Totally rhetorical question-- GOP donors have threatened to cut off fundraising if they don't pass this bill- nice)

All of that makes me feel ridiculous for my own complaints, including that my dishwasher died yesterday. The motor or drain pump is shot so it fills with water but nothing else happens. Gary tried taking it apart to see if something was clogged but no luck. Naturally, this happens right after a party when I had dirty dishes all over. blergh...

Everything is pretty much cleaned up from Saturday, I struggled with finishing my LO for the Oct Challenge I am hosting and I started another but I kinda hate that one too. At least the weather is going to be nice. After I work in the house a bit, I am going to do some yard work. This time of year is sad for me that the summer flowers are scraggly but I don't want to give them up yet. :(

But maybe being in the dirt for a bit will reset my mind for a while. That would be nice.

What good things do you have going today? Hope it is a great one for you all! ::grouphug

Nancy- You have a great sports/scrap set-up now, don't you? That is awesome! Oct 7 will be here before we all know it.
And the cruise will be so much fun for you, good time to see the glaciers before they are all gone :/
We are keeping the name Whisky-- but as you see we are spelling it the Scottish version since she is a Campbell and all. :p

Trudy- I missed the plane reservation info! Did you get flights for Heather and the boys? Yay!!!!!!!
Your day on Sat was busy and social.
My ILs are going on a cruise to Alaska at some point in the future- can't remember when. It is not somewhere I have any desire to go. Warm oceans and beaches for this Faery.

Rae- I also missed the post about Noel. I am glad he is doing Ok after the surgery. Whisky came home with a cone but she kept pulling it off and getting it stuck in the crate wires so we took it off of her. Since someone is always home it was easy to keep an eye on her. But a cat? That would be impossible to keep him contained.
What movie did you see?

I need to get rolling... lots to do this morning if I want to get outside in the afternoon. Hugs!

Hi all,
I'm totally updated. Echinacea isn't my favorite taste, but helped. Even I spent Sunday afternoon at the yard playing with the dogs, weather was my favorite warm autumn. Today is coldy but never mind, I have big to do list.

Chris, sounds like a great party. I guess this lady, Leah's grandma, is just worried that her grandchildren wouldn't continue her religion, but people just fall in love with your family. I'm sure she will be very happy when see that you will add their tradition to yours and not just ignore them. Some people are very pedantic about the religion. Which is strange for me, who is changed it few times, but one of my ex roommate is one of these, so I'm familiar with that. So bad that Gary can't fix the dishwasher! We are in the similar situation with the washing machine, she wash only when she decided and needs to turn it on and off few times before to do it. Uhhh! I also not scrap enough this month and have to quick.

Nancy, baby gifts are so adorable: towel, blankets and pajamas which can dress up your baby like animal are my favorite choice for gift. But my friends are so different mother who don't use plastic, only eco or only modern, from specific brand . It's really difficult to follow all their requirements, I make a list. Good luck with your search!

Trudy, I'm not sure how you say when someone have to do something, we wish "Easy work!", with the painting of the front door.

Rae, I'm so happy about Noel! This with the scratch happened so often to mine, I'm really tired! Quick recovering! Don't worry, indoors cat lived much longer than outdoors, and every is different.

Jean, how's going in Oklahoma?! How long you'll be there?!

Fingers crossed this to be good week for all! I need it!

good morning - a beautiful Monday sunny skies and warm. Yesterday was hot! 92 degree F. That is so hot I am sure it was a record. It should be down in the high 60s over the weekend. It was so good seeing the new baby, Addie. She is so cute. Looks a lot like her mom. She is 6 weeks and really alert. My shopping ended at Barnes and Nobles, there is a new book out by Savanah Guthrie Princesses wear Pants. And got their son a book too. I love books and you are never to young to be read to. It was good to catch up but so interesting as most of the kids have jobs but not jobs that they truly love nor that let them have really independent lives. That is true for my son in IT but luckily he seems to like the job. And my mechanic loves working on cars just not dealing with the customers, he is grateful for the service writers. My hockey team is playing in PEI (Prince Edward Island) Canada for Kraft Hockeyville. That is so cool for my team. They usually are never asked or if asked never participated so this is a nice thing for a team that may not make the playoffs. They are playing the Ottawa Senators. But so weird half the team stayed in NJ and they will play the Islanders in Brooklyn tonight. Which game to watch! Good thing I can DVR. Today is a pretty low key day.

Chris what a bummer about the dishwasher. I know one can always do it by hand but while the dish washer is washing you can be doing other stuff. Have fun doing dirt therapy. I like the name Whisky and love the spelling.

Trudy that is such a good idea and quick and pleasing way to freshen up a house. So what new color is the door. Did you watch Outlander? I will ask you tomorrow if you watched so as not to spoil anything. I really am liking this show but I wish they would get to the meeting of Jaime and Clair.

Rae that is such good news about Noel. Poor guy a cone for two weeks. Glad you are feeling so much better.

felis thanks for the thoughts on gifts. Yes with Moms these days there are always something to be aware of so that is why I went with books. Glad that you too are feeling better. My son and DH took our dog to the puppy park and he came back tired but happy. Playing is such fun!

Jean hoping you are having fun!

Have a great day all.

Good Morning everyone, it is a rainy day today :rain: so needed and it woke me up very early this morning, but then lulled me back to sleep and I slept in until 7:30. I got up and made coffee for DH and myself as he took today off of work. He has a meeting to go to today and then we are finishing up painting the front doors. I will take a before and after so that you can see the new colour, we really are pleased with how one of the doors has turned out it sure spruces it up! Heather and Hunter facetimed with us this morning and it is so hot there right now that they all slept in the living room this weekend as the air conditioning doesn't really get into the bedrooms. Another scorcher of a day there today, so sure hope that Mason is inside at school in the cool and not playing outside in the horrible heat! Now I am going to vacuum and wash the floors today, no other housework to be done. I sure hope that I can get a page done and catch up here a bit, I'm so far behind I figure I'm first!! LOL

Chris - yes we got everyone all booked to come home for Christmas, so excited to have everyone home this year! Now I will worry the whole time that the weather won't cooperate Ugh!! Do we ever stop worrying?? Been thinking that I have to get busy soon with making my calendars, it will be a busy fall as I will be getting things ready for meals etc and freezing them so that I won't be spending all my time in the kitchen when everyone is home. Sorry to hear that your dishwasher is giving you grief!! I sure hope you can get it fixed without costing a fortune!! Nice that you have most everything cleaned up from the weekend, hopefully you will get some dirt therapy today and take it easy and enjoy the nice day!

Felis - Glad that you are feeling better today! Sorry to hear that you are having machine troubles too! The door painting is going very well and not a hard job at all. We take one door off at a time and then have the warm garage to paint them in. The hardest part is putting all the hardware back on the door :becky:

Nancy - Yes I watched Outlander last night... loved it!! I can hardly wait until Claire and Jamie meet up again also! I have been re-reading the last book a bit just to keep it fresh in my mind what happens. Hope that you and Luther are keeping cool. Can't believe how warm it is out there for all of you, such crazy weather!

Rae - We are most likely cross posting again, glad to hear that Noel is doing well and on the mend! Hope your sinus problems are all cleared up today and that you are liking the rain that we are having today, sounds like it will be nice again for Wed/Thurs. hope so as the hike is a nice one this week! Enjoy your day!

Ok off to get the vacuum out and get some things done around here. Have a great day everyone!!

Good afternoon, ladies. Picked up Bailey and we went to the sale at Value Village this morning. I got her quite a few things and a few scarves and shirts for me. Taz was thrilled to come for the ride and see Bailey. Dropped her back off at home and grabbed a coffee when I got back and got to work. I found out she wants a few sweaters and still loves jeggings/tights so I know what to buy in Bellingham this wkend when I do some birthday shopping for her. We'll have a family birthday dinner here on Sunday for her, after we get back from the trailer.

Tonight a few of the new shows start (Good Doctor), Young Sheldon, and Brave. Also looking forward to the new Big Bang. I'm feeling a bit better today so will continue throughout the week with my spray, pill and EO roll-on. My sinuses are not as painful today so happy that that is on the mend. I still look like Rudolf with my red tipped nose LOL but it is less so today thankfully.

Chris - try to stay positive although it's easier said than done. Hope you get out in the yard today, that always makes you feel better.

Trudy - how wonderful that they are all coming home for Xmas.

Felis - sounds like fun getting outdoors with the dogs. It's raining and cold here today too. The good thing about it is I get to wear a sweater and scarf to keep warm (I'm a sweater/scarf person and have many, wearing them every chance I get).

Nancy - I don't buy many books anymore but I still love going into a bookstore and browsing. We have a Chapters close by and it's fun to grab a coffee (they have a Starbucks) and sit in a comfy chair and browse thru a few books and magazines. I love that they put out lounging chairs for us to do this. I like to flip thru photog, photoshop and decor books.

I'd better get back to work now after being away for a few hrs this morning. Have a great day everyone.
