I survived the last two weeks and the weekend and the best news is that aside from babysitting, I am not working today!!!!!

Thank you, Life!!!

I have a few things to do around the house, some paperwork, clean out the Inbox etc..... but other than that, it should be a calm day. Please please please let it stay that way. Physically I am pretty wrecked, everything is so achy so I think that the doctor ordered me to stay home and scrap. :D

I would also like to catch up with all of you today too, I feel like I only have been a drive-by the last few days. And ya miss my blabbering, right? :blah:

Me Me Monday:
listen to tunes and scrap and scrap and scrap!

The kids drove me slap up the wall yesterday afternoon and evening...they both got in trouble!!! NOT LISTENING!!! Doing exactly what I told them NOT to do!! So usually at 7 or so, after we read, I let them lay down in bed and watch tv for half an hour.....they got that taken away last night....first time I did that to Jaiden...she was not a happy camper!!! but she did better than I thought. She got mad at me when I sent her to her room in the afternoon yesterday, told me "I DON'T EVER WANT TO COME BACK HERE AGAIN"....I chuckled....and opened the door and said "sweetie, you have to leave before you can come back" and she said "I am not ever leaving then"...I grinned and said "I know"....she was just mad and wanted to SPOUT OFF SOMETHING at me!! Usually when she gets that mad at me, she hollers she doesn't love me anymore and cries for her Mommy.

I think Mike is going to his land today..so that means a house to myself for a few hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEEEE!!!

Linda S_ brrrr, that sounds freezing to be out there like that. I am proud of you for ordering oatmeal, but I have to say the other b-fasts sound delish. Did they share a bite with you?
Just read the dr update-- where- glad that it is nothing serious, but please take very good care of yourself! We need you! yeah, not to mention your kids and hubby and rest of your family does too, but thing of the O!!! LOL

Trudy!!! Miss you! Hope you are getting awesome pics!

Nana!! Good job selling!!!!! Hope that you can take some time to relax and stretch those muscles gently. Feel better!

Oh. My. GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!
Eva- that pic is the funniest thing!!!! Too true!!!!! Even after several cups of coffee, nope still feeling cranky.

Phyllis- the change in weather is hurting me here too. Hope that you feel better today.
Too funny about listening to the police scanner. Wonder if you found anything out about the supposed big party in my town Sat, night. hehe!! I heard cops were there and everything. Not my kids though, they were home with us, whew!!!
Maybe you did? I heard there was nudity there too, maybe they were dancing naked in their socks? They missed the part about where no one can see you!

Guess it is time for me to get rolling along.....

hugs and love!

I can ALWAYS taste the cauliflower. You cannot hide that taste!

I'm feeling ¤&#%&#"/ today. I have appointments all week. I know most people have appointments every day every week every year ... but I DO NOT like having appointments 4 days in a row. And I just had a call - so now I have 2 appointments on Thursday. I'm not made for this kind of living. I want to sit in my cave with my computer.

Can we cancel some days and jump straight to Friday? Deal?

Oh Linda and Chris, if the two of you are spending the day together, can I come and sit right in the middle? I can sit cross-legged on the middle of the sofa. It will be so much fun!!!

Eva, you always make me laugh. pap smear. :pound:

Chris, Nana, LindaS. if i bring a pizza and some :partywine can i come, too?? i'm always alone during the day, so some company would be GREAT!

Chris, i just looked on the internet for that cauliflower soup and am going to make some version of it for dinner tonight. Eva, i LOVE cauliflower and cabbage and broccoli. i could eat cabbage every day. if anyone likes stuffed cabbage but hates to put it together, i have a recipe for Easy Stuffed Cabbage that is SOOOO good with mashed potatoes. (my husband tells me. i can't eat the potatoes.) it's a good fall sort of dinner. comfort food, if you're a genetic Slav like me.

Helen, it's so good to see you in here with the ladies!

Trudy, you always make me feel like exercising. but then i reconsider....

Chris, my scanner APP is Scanner 911HD (APP store on iTunes). it has a bunch of places all over the country (and a few in Canada) to listen to. NYC., D.C., etc. my little town is included in a large radio grouping. dunno whether your town would be included in what you could listen to or not. it's quite entertaining, when you don't have anything else to listen to, or if there's something that you KNOW is going on. some of the stuff i hear. honestly amazing.

today, i'm gonna make Chris' soup, try to clean part of the house, do some grocery shopping. and enjoy the 60 degree temps.

Happy Monday! make some SOUP!

Here you go - fantastic traditional Swedish dinner:
(pudding in Swedish isn't neccessarily a dessert)

KÅLPUDDING
CABBAGE PUDDING
(Casserole)

1 to 2 lb. head white cabbage
41/2 tbls. rice
Salt
11 oz. ground beef
Butter for frying
2/3 cup water
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup milk

Cut off the bottom part of the stem of a head of white cabbage. Cut the cabbage into shreds or pieces. Brown them in butter in a frying pan. Boil rice in 2/3 cup water and 1/2 tsp. salt for approximately 20 minutes. Let the rice cool. Mix ground beef with 1 1/2 tsps. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Add the rice and 1 cup milk. Lay the cabbage and meat in alternate layers in a buttered oven-proof dish. The top and bottom layers should be cabbage. Bake in an oven at 350F. for 3/4 to 1 hour. Serve with boiled potatoes.

Found the translated recipe here: http://www.californiamall.com/holidaytraditions/traditions-sweden.htm Don't know why it's listed under Christmas dinner, I don't know if anyone eats this at Christmas? Anyway - really yummy. I eat it without potatoes, but with lingonberry jam. .... Now I'm hungry!

Eva, that's kind of like the stuffed cabbage thing i make, except mine has a tomato base:

Lazy Stuffed Cabbage
1 large onion, chopped
2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. Minute Rice
1 (3 lb.) head of cabbage
salt and pepper

sauce:
2 cans tomato soup
1 can water
1/4 c vinegar
a bit of brown sugar, if desired

Cook Meat, onions, salt and pepper. Add rice. Mix well. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan. Chop 1/2 of cabbage finely and place in pan. Add meat layer. Cut remaining cabbage and put on top.

Combine soup, etc., and add a can of water. pour over meat and cabbage mixture. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes. It's even better as leftovers.

Cauliflower is fine, but cabbage in anything but coleslaw? No thanks. :p

Back from our trip...really need to clean up the house, but I feel like I need a vacation to recover from my vacation. Curious to see how Isaac does today. He basically got held all weekend. He's been pretty chill so far, but I was wondering if he was going to throw a fit the first time I laid him on his blanket.

And, one of my good friends is coming over for lunch. I hardly ever get to see her anymore, so I'm excited!

Might get a page or two scrapped in between all that!

Just stopping in to say good morning!

Nothing much going on here today other than work!

I have a meeting right after work--serve on the finance committee at church.

Then I need to scrap. Need to get one more layout completed for the class I'm taking.
