Good morning. It is a somber day in the US, for sure. Lots of memories. Shock, disbelief, fear.
My dad participates in the local memorial ceremonies every year, this one is from yesterday.

I am going to have to scrap it for him even though I don't have permission. BIG apologies to Mr Leshay but it's only going to be a gift for his b-day, I won't post it online. I feel guilty about saving the photo but it's too good to pass up, ya know? He looks pretty handsome. And not bad for almost 85!
However, I was ready to bash my brother over the head last night. He texted me at 11.30 pm. I was fast asleep when my phone dinged. Had a heart attack when I saw his name only to see a link to the new article. Eleven. Thirty. PM.
SMH!!
Jeeeeez!!!!!! You can't do that to me dude, not with our parents as old as they are!!
At any rate, I was glad that he sent me the link, but he could have waited until later today.
The table is all done, just needs to cure and we'll be able to use it tomorrow night for dinner. It looks really good! I didn't realize how much build-up it had, it's nice and fresh and bright again. Dinner was surprisingly very good! The savory funnel cakes were neat as the bun and there was a siracha aioli for the dressing. They made a smoky mushroom "bacon." I can't eat mushrooms (allergy or sensitivity-- either way, my stomach doesn't like 'em) so they put the marinade on some of Caitlyn's vegetarian bacon slices. The movie was typical 80s horror-comedy-sci-fi silliness. Total goofy schtick.
I have so much to catch up around the house today. Laundry and making a menu for the week are my top two chores. Coloring Crew is this afternoon and I want to go this week since I won't be able to go next week. I've got to do my best to not obsess over the weather next week. ATM, Lee looks like it will turn more north and not hit NJ, but depending on the size of the storm we might get rained out. Not much I can do. *tries to shrug nonchalantly*
xoxoxo!
