Happy Halloween for those who celebrate it. I hope Chris is not without power from the storms that dropped so much snow on the coast yesterday. I am getting ready to head out to work. I have lots to do today. I could dress up, but decided that trying to do my job with the kiddo's and wear a costume would not be too easy- maybe next year I will take it off!

Have great days everyone!

Early morning hello from me as I head out to the gym. I thought about Chris and NJ yesterday when I was reading about the vast # of people w/o power. To electricity for all!

Laurie - have a Happy Halloween with the short ones, maybe just a hat? or something like that? anyhow, as you say...Next year!

Hi ladies! i am back, with power!!!! This is beyond crazy--- my town got 19 inches of snow!! That's a bid amount during the winter- unheard of in October.
I am going to run through the posts, and then-- Shower time!! Wheee!
We have electric stove, oil heat and a well pump, so when we have no power, we literally have nothing. My neighbors with gas stoves have been awesome. I was able to boil water for instant coffee at one house and we got invited to a delish dinner of chicken, rice and beans and wine at the other.

Hope that the rest of my O-Fam on the east coast is safe and warm.

Be back in a bit!

xoxo

Good morning ladies!!

Poor Addie still has fevers from the shots and is sleeping in this morning. There are some strange parts to her having fevers. She is snugglier (as are most kids) which is nice, but she also has weird dreams and talks in her sleep. And her fever is sooooo high. I called a friend of mine yesterday who is an ER nurse about it and she said that if they have anything underlying the shots will exacerbate it and getting the MMR and Pox shot also make them feel icky for up to two weeks when the antibodies are fully formed. I really wish they would split the shots up more but then again if they did that they would get shots every time they went in and that's not good.

Hahaha! Here's a perfect example of her sick silliness. I'm sitting here writing you and she comes down the stairs and says she heard a car. I told her it was okay. And she replies back...that was in my dream wasn't it. She is so silly.

So, tonight just some trick or treating. I have to fix Addie's costume but that will be easy.

Chris - I hope you can stay warm w/o power. (I am assuming that is the only reason you are not here)

Laurie - I hate dressing up so I totally understand the difficulties of dressing up and going to work. Maybe some of your kiddos will come in all dressed up and be cute as a button.

Maureen - Enjoy the gym. I wish I were motivated. We have these community centers here on post in every neighborhood and they all have a small gym and I mean to go and just have not been yet. I'm lazy.

Linda - Good luck finding Jaiden's glasses. What a pain. Addie always takes hers off too and I know they will be lost eventually. WE have no glasses coverage. So, if we have to replace them ever we have to cover it completely.

Fran - look at you go. I scrap slow and 3 LOs would be an amazing feat for me. Enjoy your Halloween.

Phyllis - I'll keep an eye out for your mojo. Mine has been wavering lately also. Fall in PA sounds like fall, winter and spring in WA. Amazingly I miss it though. I came out of the grocery store and it was drizzly and I loved it.

Alright ladies. Have a fabulous Halloween.

Chris - There you are. 19 inches???? Wow!! I'm guessing no school for the kiddos. Or is one of the days when they do have school because they wait for the times when the snow barely falls. I'm glad your neighbors have been so awesome.

yeah, no school for us, and most of the north part of the state. Some areas might not get power back until Wed.

How weird that we have used 2 snow days already, one in Sept, and in in October? I hope that this is not going to be the way the actual winter goes.

Suzy- how is your part of NJ?

Good Morning and Happy Halloween everyone!! We spent yesterday grocery shopping and cleaning and putting up the Halloween decorations. Most of our neighbors have had them up for a while, but we don't have any kids left at home so its just not the same. Should be a nice day, so we are expecting lots of little ghosts and goblins this year.

Laurie - I am not dressing up to go to work either, just not into Halloween that much anymore, although I do love to see the little ones!!

Maureen - good for you for heading to the gym, I have a full work out centre in my basement, but still do not use it as much as I should. I would much rather be outside and going for long hikes, but I am a fair weather hiker so the gym will be my only option soon!

Phylis - Hope you find your Mojo soon!! I hate when that goes missing!! Your weather does sound like ours here on the Wet West Coast, hope it improves for you today!

Clara - Poor Addie, still feverish?? Is she allergic to eggs? I have heard people that have egg allergies get sick from the some shots, because the vacine is grown in chicken eggs. (but maybe that's just the flu shots??) Hope she feels well enough to trick or treat tonight!!

Chris - EEEKKKK!! :scared: 19 inches of the white stuff!! I would cry!! We are so not ready for that kind of silliness yet!! How nice that you have great neighbors who help you out!!

Well off to work this morning for my long full day, but mostly back office stuff today so that's ok with me! Then off tomorrow and hopefully I can start working on my calendars for the family. Last year I left them so late and was rushing to get them done for Christmas. Hopefully they will get done quickly this time! Gotta :bolt:

Morning ladies!

To those hit by the snow and cold.............sorry and waaaaaaaay to early for that crap (polite word used.)

Laurie-Enjoy your Halloween with the little ones.

Maureen-I'm off to exercise this AM too. Hate to go, but love when finished and that I did go.

Nana-Happy picture taking!

Frani-Fun time spent scrapping. Going to check out your gallery.

Phylis- You are one creative lady! Wish I had a fraction of you amazing digi mind. Maybe the weather effected your mojo.

Clara- Hope your Addie feels better soon. No fun for her and certainly worries you. Hope things get better.

Chris- Hope the snow melts soon. My husband and son cut wood a good part of the weekend stocking us up. We tend to lose power with those ice storms and have two back up generators and always plenty of wood as it can be several days before we see power. We have learned!!

Trudy- Have a nice Halloween. Enjoy the little treaters and anxious to see your calendars.

Happy Monday All!

Woohoo! It's Monday!!! Which means it's technically Sunday for me :) Usually on our weekends, Jeff wants to go to bed early and sleep in for an eternity... gotta love night shift... which causes rifts between us because I can't sleep to that schedule. Well, he has a brand new video game and this is the first full weekend he has had to play it...
... so we were up until 1am and he was out of bed at 8am!!! Woohoo! Now we're on my schedule!!!

So when I opened up my laptop I got an IM from Clara that made me chuckle - "are you actually awake?"

Today we're going out to lunch & a movie! I'm excited, because hunting season meant I got ZERO time with Jeff... let alone trips out in public that weren't usual errands or trips to sporting goods stores. I have another reason to celebrate - I finally have full reigns of our finances and budget, Jeff was still paranoid that I spend too much money on groceries and such, well - We came out to having an extra $50 in my food budget! Booyah! So much for me overspending, right? He actually ended up spending my iDSD money I had sitting in Paypal on some stupid software he didn't need, so now I have that extra money in the budget hehe :) Serves him right for 1) not thinking I could shop within budget (always do, he just never realized it) and 2) for spending my iDSD money!!!!

I'll be back for personals, laundry is beeping at me and I have my breakfast!

My word - has it really been months since I posted in here? Good grief. I stop by and catch up on everything, but somehow I never write back. I'm so glad summer is over - it feels like it took me hostage this year. lol :peep:

We are gearing up for Halloween today, just finished making caramel apples with A (my almost-3 year old). H (7mo) is getting her first tooth, so I'm not sure how long we'll be out trick or treating tonight. Luckily, we've got great neighbors, so I don't think A will even notice if we duck out early.

SO, I'm a newly-minted single mother of two. Yeah, part of summers' hostage taking. In addition, the girls and I moved 500 miles from where we were, so there's all that adjusting too. Wish me luck! (I'm probably going to need it). Maybe that's why I hadn't posted in so long!

Chris - I'm sorry you guys are without power! Hopefully it won't last too long. I'm not sure what your housing situation is, but we used to lose power due to storms a lot growing up, so we'd close off all the bedroom/hallway doors and "camp" in the living room to conserve heat.

Laurie - I've always loved Halloween, but I never was much for dressing up. Now that I work from home, there's no one but my own kids to see me, so I don't even bother. I can live vicariously through them.

Maureen - Gym? Gym? What is this Gym? haha Just kidding. After my first daughter was born, I did great and got back into shape. After the latest one...not so much. Plus, it's a lot harder now, I have to find a babysitter, etc and that can be a pain. Good for you, though!! I'm impressed!

Linda - Hope you're able to find the glasses, and they aren't trashed. It's amazing how expensive those little things can be.

Clara - Hope your patient is better! Mine always act a little weird too - but they're pretty young, so most of what they do is weird. ;)

Fran - Way to go with your 3 layouts! My blog got hacked, then my computer starting acting up and every time I opened my scrapping software, it would shut off. Luckily, my new computer is in, and my new software should be here today or tomorrow. I.Can't.Wait!!!

Phyllis - Good luck finding your mojo! Mine leaves every once in a while, but I usually find when it comes back, it's wild with ideas. I hope the same is true in your case!

Trudy - Hope you get some great "ghouls" and "goblins" tonight! That was always my favorite part about handing out candy.

Meg - Way to go with the budgeting! Doesn't it feel great? My income recently got cut by over 3/4, which was very scary but through some "creative budgeting" and being very careful, I was able to pay off any "other" debts. So, now I have just my utilities and my mortgage, which is good since my budget is so tight it squeaks.

Happy Halloween to those that participate, and Happy Monday to everyone else!
