HelloOOOO!!! Happy Monday to you!

Damp, chilly, and dreary. That's the weather, not me. Although, I suppose two out of those three would be accurate. Which two am I? Chilly - that's a given. Who wants to say out loud that I am either damp or dreary? Hahaha!!

Dreary, my friends. I am chilly and dreary. :D

Nah, I am actually not feeling too bad. Strange, right? I had a bazillion things on my to-do list yesterday and I think I got close to a gazillion done. Unfortunately, that means I still have 1/2 a gazillion to work on today. If I stay focused, I should be able to whittle that down a bit more. One of the things on my list I am #mad about. Gary got billed for a tetanus shot-insurance initially wouldn't cover it- in 2018. Was told it was taken care of, then it popped up again last year, told it was taken care of, and then over the summer, he got a notice from Collections. For the last three months, he has been trying to get it straightened out but no one has any record of the removal of the charge. He told me yesterday that we need to pay it. *&%#^%$#*
*grumbles*

I got the rough draft of my toast written out, short and sweet. Two out of 20 letters to voters are done. I have a hard time writing more than that at a time since my handwriting is awful and my fingers are stiff. But if I do 2 a day they will be done before the deadline to mail them.
It was neat watching The Crow again after all of these years. That brought back so many memories of the 90s grunge scene. Caitlyn made popcorn and we all bundled under blankets, that's the second time I did that in one weekend. I almost never watch movies.

I better post this and do some personals. I want to get some scrap time in later today too

@LSlycord So happy and jealous that your weather is excellent! I am so glad that Syd was able to get back to school and is having a great time with her college friends. She is really off to a fab start on campus. I hope that Shaun's phone is perfect for him. How is he feeling about the upcoming procedure?
No word on Scott's job. He feels pretty good about it. His last day as Park Ranger for the season is Saturday so I hope he hears before then. Caitlyn should hear by the end of the week if she gets an interview for the advisor position. The one she is working at now. :( Ugh. I don't know why this has to be so difficult. [anyway... positive vibes, she is going to get an interview. She going to get the second. Once she passes the Hiring Committee, she knows she is in. All of this is going to happen.]
Can you tell my stress *and* aggravation at this process are off the charts? o_O

@vickyday hope that your stomach is all better today. That is so sad that you couldn't eat, all of the food sounds amazing!
French drains are an expensive way of saying a trench around the house to drain the water away from the foundation. ;) Haha! The last estimate we got -- many years ago- was $10,000. If it needs to be done at your house, I hope that it is something that Mark can do himself.

@Lynn Grieveson sending you good thoughts for a pain-free/teeth-relaxed day. I think that you need to get an air purifier to keep at home too, that is amazing that DD is feeling so much better. BTW, I am in love with your Nocturne Kit!

@BrightEyes I am thrilled that you are starting to feel better. I hope each day is a lot more like yourself. As soon as the engagement party is over, I am going to schedule mine and flu too. Any sign of the balloons yesterday? How long does the festival last?

@Cherylndesigns *happy dancing with you* Just having the power back on is huge!!! After Sandy, we were w/o power for 4 days and opened up our house to anyone who needed to take a shower/laundry/charge phones. One of the kids' friends, her sister, and her mom took us up on it. 10 years later, the mom still talks about what that meant. When does Steph plan on going to the condo to see how it is?

Good morning. Another gorgeous morning here. Nothing on the docket today...unless I decide to buy some groceries which I really should. This weather makes me oh so happy! The house also needs a good deep cleaning. But I suspect I won't get to that... #dk
I worked on Momma O's challenge yesterday but I needed a red heart. I was going to make one but I couldn't for the life of me remember how to do that. Which led me to the land of YouTube videos...and finally gave up. Came back to it this morning and I found my heart. Why the new version of PS has hidden the shapes is beyond me...but I found it.

I have been goal-less for a few weeks. The timing on having this time off really did turn out to be perfect. But I'm going to work on putting a little structure back in my world today. Andie is feeling back to normal...although we have another 10 or so days of pills.

If that's all that French drains are, then, yes, Mark has the equipment to be able to do it himself. He says it would be a pain in the you-know-what, but he could do it.......as a LAST ditch (pun intended) resort, LOL!
The stomach is better. I was able to eat some chicken yesterday. I'm staying away from the chicken stew, however, due to the lactose intolerance and I'm staying away from the chili due to the spices and grease! I'm not taking any chances until I feel my stomach is up to it!

Have you healed up from your face plant against the car, Linda?
No structure is good for a while! You will know when that time is over! Enjoy your time off!

Good morning. I'm up kind of early for me. Yesterday, I slept late because I was so relieved and probably exhausted from all the stress of the hurricane. Steph got into her condo - NO water damage at all! A lot of the carports got messed up, but other than a lot of standing water, everything is intact. She's on the first floor, so I was worried about water damange. She has water, electricity and internet! Her friends, where she was staying, still have no power. We talked on the phone for an hour and a half Saturday night! It was wonderful to hear her voice and hear her so upbeat.
Chris @faerywings that sucks about that shot - and how long it's been floating around in la la land. Of course, those things always find their way back and demand payment. I can't believe, after all this time, it ended up in collections!! Well, yes, I CAN believe it - what am I saying?

Good vibes to Caitlin and Scott for their jobs. They'll both get there.

I scrapped a page for the Halloween Art Journaling Challenge - using your Noctourne Kit, @Lynn Grieveson - it was so much fun to play with and I love the spooky moon! Hope your feeling better today! Glad DD is feeling better after you got the air purifier.

Linda @LSlycord it's ok not to have structure once in a while. LOL I have those days more and more frequently. I tried to cut a shape in PSE recently and it did not work, either. I got so frustrated. I need to go back to YouTube and figure out what I'm doing wrong. Those things "DO" hide. UGH I always watch Rick Peterson is my go-to guy.

I'd better go and get some more tea and try to wake up. Adrienne's birthday is tomorrow, and I have to throw together some kind of a plan. They've been gone for a week and just got home last night so I need to enlist Ava's help and figure something out. They all came here for dinner last night and I thought it was too early for cake. I might just make her one. Don't everybody faint. I don't bake anymore. Hahaha If Alyssa is working at Nancy's maybe I can sweet talk her into bringing a cake home and I'll pay for it. Can you tell I have NO plan? Something will work out, it always does.

Happy Monday and have a good day everybody.

Good morning!
Hope everyone had a good weekend! The weather is promising today! The sun is shining, anyway, after rain again yesterday. The temps are still chilly, however. I need to go to Wally's World after while and then I think I'll do some more scanning. I didn't do any scanning this weekend since I was busy cooking on Saturday and did laundry all day yesterday after church. I did get another heritage page done yesterday, however!

Stomach is better so far today. I was able to eat some chicken yesterday and ate some salad greens and carrots last night. Knock-on-wood I can eat something later! I would LOVE to eat some of the chicken stew and/or chili I fixed for the dinner, but I'm not going to attempt that until I think my digestive system can handle it!

I slept until 9 this morning after going to bed at 2:30. I had not worked in the checkbook since Mark and I were sick back in July and August! OY VEY! I tell myself EVERYTIME that I am not going to let it get behind like that again......but I do! There are just more pressing things to do that take precedence over that.....like scrapbooking! ;)

OK. That's about it for me. I have to get dressed and then head out to run my errands. I might even go to the thrift shop. I've put on 30 lbs since Mark and I got married and my jeans are way too tight! And my stomach issues don't like squeezing into them, lol!

Have a great day!

@faerywings I hope that Scott hears this week. That would make the end of this job so much easier! And I'm sure that Cait is going to get an interview...no way would they not at least interview her. But of course, I have had a few interesting things happen lately. And that shot...good grief! With Shaun having had so many medical procedures this year, it has been a nightmare. We had one bill for about $1500 that insurance should have paid. However, it happened during the month that the insurance switched to COBRA. It took 3 months of me fighting with these people, all the while with them sending Shaun threatening letters. Fortunately for me, I have worked in health insurance (even though I was always in IT, you can't help but learn some of this stuff) and told them I wanted the notes documented and then read back to me. It was ridiculous.

@vickyday what is in chicken stew? Is it similar to beef stew but with chicken. I'm sure sorry that you missed out on that food but I don't blame you for going easy until you are sure you are back in good shape. I am pretty much recovered from the face plant. Still stiff and sore...but I think that is because I didn't do anything for so long. Now I need to get myself stretched out again. And I hear you on the checkbook...I need to pay some attention to ours as well.

@Cherylndesigns what an amazing blessing for Steph. I know that talking to her on the phone and hearing her voice surely gave you extra strength and energy! It's hard to imagine that everything is ok when she was on the ground floor. So happy to hear that.

@BrightEyes so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Hope that continues for sure.

Linda, you would think that chicken stew would be the same as beef stew but with chicken. Not so much! I'd never heard of chicken stew before coming to NC in 2008. It is chicken in a milk broth! That is basically it! Some people do add veggies to it, however! But I think that is actually called Brunswick Stew (don't quote me on that, lol). Hubby does NOT want the veggies! Believe it or not, it is very good! And it is quite easy to make. If you or anyone is interested I'll share the recipe!

Glad you have recovered from your collision with the car!

Thanks so much, Linda - I knew you'd all be thrilled to hear that she's getting back to normal! I didn't realize how stressed out I was - I internalize badly, but yesterday, I was just exhausted. Exhausted, but very relieved. She had not had very good cell service, so we'd only had texts and some of them didn't go through. They were able to charge their phones for a bit on the generator, but a lot of the cell towers got knocked down, so that wasn't reliable. They got those up and running as soon as they could and all of the carriers were told to share their towers.

Good morning my O friends!! It is a warm sunny day here so nice to have the extended summer!! Just popping in to say hello and then off to start my busy day! Yesterday MIL and FIL put in an offer on the place at the bottom of the hill and will find out tonight if it was accepted. Then on this friday the house they are now in will go up for sale, YIKES!! It is exciting, but also very sad, this property has been in the family for forever and it is too bad that it won't stay with us. We simply cannot afford to live there the sisters would want to be paid out and if we lived there we would end up in the same boat as the in-laws are in. No doctor, no hospital only one very tiny grocery store and the weather is awful in the winter! It is taking its toll on them though. MIL knows its time to go but oh my gosh she is having a horrible time letting her things go!! FIL is keeping me busy with selling all of his big items, he has no problem getting rid of stuff LOL. It is very stressful for him however thinking of moving and purchasing a home! He has only bought one house in his entire life and it is overwhelming him! He has been having lots of dizzy spells and still no word from the doctor as to when he will see the heart specialist. He is 88 years old and I think that he is just not a priority to the doctors. (sad, but probably true!). So this week I will be going up to help tidy up the house and get things ready for the photos that will be taken of the house. They will be having a drone doing Ariel shots too, it should be interesting to watch that. SIL has had a few offers on her house that is up for sale and we are hoping to hear about that today, she has been away with her boyfriend enjoying some time together and taking in a Maverick's concert. Everyone will be moving around the same time if everything falls into place, so the craziness is really only beginning LOL. I am sorry that I am not here much, but I know that you all understand! I hope that you are all keeping well and that you will forgive me for not doing personals, but I am a bit busy these days!! Have a great week everyone and I will pop in when I can and keep you up to date with what is happening! #kiss3

Trudy, it's wonderful to see you pop in! Sounds like you've been crazy busy - I can't even imagine how much stress you are all going through. That's so sad that they have to leave their home of so many years, but sometimes things just dictate that it's time. I know you're all in this together and things will work out. Sending hugs to you and your family as you take on this next chapter in their lives. It will definitely be for the best - for ALL of you.

Morning, all. Been busy as can be getting 1 more Color Play LO done and posted this morning before the sale ends tonight. I always love Natali Designs stuff and this one - Secret - really reached out and grabbed my attention. Feels so good to be back to scrapping again. Yes, I think I am finally over the Covid side-effects. Will see how I feel when I am back to running errands and doing a normal routine. Sadly... no balloons in the air this morning... wind was blowing and scattered rain in the area. Still have 5 more days of the Festival so hope they have better weather for some of them. And we are definitely feeling the fall weather - highs only into low to mid-70's all week with scattered rain showers. Long sleeve tops and pants are needed... think the shorts are done for the season. Need to get a shower then go pick up mail plus mail some bills. Tomorrow I will be seeing the doctor at 8AM so won't be in here until later on.

@taxed4ever - so good to see you dropping in. WOW... you and the family will be busy with everyone selling houses/moving. Sure hope the In-laws get the house they bid on. It would so much better to have everyone close by.

@faerywings Keeping fingers crossed for both the kids that they get the jobs. What a bummer about the shot not being paid and now you have to take care of it. Glad you got started on the toast and got some of the letters written.

@vickyday I can understand why the chicken stew in milk broth upset your tummy - especially if you are lactose intolerant. 1 DD is also lactose intolerant and thought she was over it as an adult... but it has popped back up and she is having to avoid any milk products again. We have made a chicken stew with veggies alot and love it. Yep, the spices in the chili could also cause a reaction. Just sorry that you spent all that time cooking food and can't have it right now.

@Cherylndesigns So happy that you got to talk to Steph and also that her condo wasn't damaged!! What a relief for the family to know that she is safe. No wonder you have been so stressed with all that going on. <<< hugs >>>

@LSlycord Good hear that you are recovering okay from the face plant. Good wishes on the plans for the put-off trip. No structure for a bit sounds like the way to go.

Well time to get the shower and then do the errands before the rains hit. CYL

Good morning ladies. Had a wonderful day yesterday going on a photo walk with a friend for about 6 hrs. We sat for at least an hour or more watching and photographing the pelicans. What a joy that was. It was worth the 1.5 hrs to get there. This morning I sat outside and watched the birds pecking away at an apple in the tree. That was so entertaining. Today I'm doing CT work, housework and going to the dog park later. Tomorrow morning I'll head out early for a photo walk at a nearby park I always go to and then in the afternoon the SUV goes in for oil change and winter tires. Then the day after that it goes in for repairs on the back bumper (where D backed into a cement post). I still haven't made the blueberry muffins so am really going to try to get that done today.

@faerywings Nothing better than getting cozy and watching a movie or binging a show.

@taxed4ever Sounds like things are going along well. I can only imagine how stressful it is for the IL's to be packing up, purging and getting ready to leave their home. I really hope they find life peaceful and easy when they move.

Saw on the news this morning that a study of people for many years who drank 3-4 cups of coffee a day seem to live about 24% longer than non-coffee drinkers. They of course don't know if it is the lifestyle of coffee vs non-coffee people or the coffee itself but I choose to believe it is the coffee (I drink about 6 cups a day that is 2/3 full strength and 1/3 decaf) so I should just about live forever :)

Thanks so much, Kay!! It's such a huge relief! I didn't even realize how stressed out I had been! I saw some of the hot air balloons on TV. Did you get any shots of them?
