Opening this thread because I don't know if Chris has power. Ready to kick off another week of crazy running at our place. And this morning, very grateful that the weather in the midwest is calm unlike that on the east coast.

Praying for you folks that the storm would quickly subside.

Morning O fam- I just finished my workout and was coming to open the thread and LindaS beat me to it. STay safe my O fam! They are predicting power outages due to wind where I live- I hope not cause it is brr brr cold- trying to decide if I should layer or breakout the winter coat. Time will tell. Off to the shower and first day on the new/old job. I am praying the staff keeps positive, our secretaries have to check people into both the old and new systems as we switch over and that will certainly slow things down!

Morning all :)
Chris - if you can come around, I'm thinking of you ... ♥

Linda - Hi there, hope the weather remains calm and safe at your place ;)
Laurie - sending you wrom thoughts, and crossing my fingers that you won't have any power outage

Good am all - I am in central NJ and the rain is just starting and the wind is really starting to pick up. Looks like Sandy in going to come a shore south of where I live so I am expecting rain and wind and who knows how long I will have power. Been through this with Irene and so I do have a generator to help should we lose power. I am glad the sun is coming up. I always feel better when I can see what is going on. LOL I think the hardest is just listening to the newscasters and waiting for Sandy to finally come a shore.

Morning O ladies! Listening to rain :rain: here today also, but no storm like you have out East thank goodness! Hope you are all keeping safe and that this storm passes quickly without leaving you all in the dark!! I am off to work this morning and ready to get this crazy week over with. Wednesday is my day off and I will enjoy each minute I'm sure.

Linda - Hope your week starts off well and that its not too crazy for you! Sure makes the days fly by though doesn't it!!

Laurie - Good luck with the new/old job stuff today, hopefully the transitions goes smoothly!! I vote for layers today, that way you can keep that winter coat in the closet a while longer LOL. Hope the weather cooperates and it warms up for you later today!

Dumpty- hope your day is full of creativeness!!

Nancy - Nice that you have a generator just in case the worst happens! Do you get to stay home? Is everyone supposed to miss work today because of the storm? Keep safe!!

Chris - Sending you lots of good vibes to keep you safe and warm in this storm! Sure hope that the power doesn't go out for you! Thinking of you today my friend and hope you are all alright!

Phylis and Nana Linda  missing you here this morning, thanks for the lovely good wishes for my DD and her sweetie!!

Well gotta hit the shower and then start my Monday Madness!!

Hi my O-Fam! I am here. Like Nancy, its mostly wind gusts here at the moment, some rain here and there. The scary part is that the eye isn't even supposed to hit NJ until tonight. Long day(s) ahead.
I got up, made coffee and wil get in the shower while I still can. Gary tried to get a generator on Friday but everyone was sold out.The worst of this is when we lose power, we lose everything- electric stove, well pump, the whole deal.
The sat images of the storm are crazy!

Not much on my agenda for today, just hang out here while I can!

Linda S- here is to you having a calm-ish day today. Wish I could help you in your running.

Laurie- good luck with your power, hope it stays on. I'd vote for layers and coat since I am always cold .
Many many good positive thoughts with the old/new job. Smooth transitions vibes to you~~

Hey Dumpty! *waves hi*

Nancy- hugs and stay safe! Is your family all tucked in too?

Trudy- Our governor called a state of emergency that means all non-essential people need to stay of the roads. However, I am hearing about some businesses that are requiring people to come in. What can be so important? *smh*
I am still happy dancing over your news and I loved Laurie's advice and perspective!!

Nana-- how are you doing?? OK?? I hope so, after this past summer you deserve to keep your electricity!! You too Phyllis-- thinking of you! Don't go running out to look for fleece tops today :D

love to all, and thank you for your good thoughts and prayers!

Very gray wet and dismal looking outside!! Winds have just started to blow a little...the worst for us is about midnight tonight....weird thing is...we lost power in the middle of the night last night...we woke up around 4 and no power...it came back on around 6 am....I hope that wasn't a warning!! AACKK!

Chris you stay safe sweetie.....I know you are in higher elevation...but I have been watching and NJ is definately where the eye is going to hit...and such a HUGE HUGE storm!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I ever recall seeing one this big before.

Still haven't blown away yet, and still have power.;)
Now i am just bored. I have stuff to do-- like read the papers, clip coupons but I wanted to save them up for when we are offline.
Vicki has my cell # and I have hers, Nana's too IIRC- so I will try to stay in touch if I can.

I am so bored!!

chris I heard on the news that people were driving all the way from the coast to OH to buy generators. so far transition is going ok.

hi again! Wind is really starting to get crazy. My heart is breaking for the Shore! I ended up making brownies and macaroni salad, not sure what to do next. I don't want to get too inveigled with scrapping cuz with my luck i'll be super involved in a page and then lose it all.

So I am poking around the gallery, and tagging some stuff in ACDSee....

love you all!

Nana-- I will!
Laurie- wow!!!!! I wouldn't be surprised it they are being listed on Craisglist with a huge mark-up LOL

Hoping everyone stays safe on the East Coast!! I was just there and am sad to think how terrible this storm is!! Prayers going out for everyone.

hope everybody out east is holding on to their HATS! we have NO wind here yet at all. it was supposed to start at noon, but nothing yet. i went out grocery shopping and it wasn't crowded, which is unusual. around here, usually everybody panics for stuff like this. i mean it's Pennsyl-VANIA, for Heaven's SAKE! it's not likely we're going to get 30 foot waves on the Monongahela River! :flypig:

i've watched a lot of video today. (latest Upstairs Downstairs episode, AMTM (or Girls Acting like Trash, as i like to refer to it...), Once Upon a TIme. i rented Prometheus for later tonight.) i just don't feel like DOING much. :bored: i made come crepes to stuff for dinner, and now i'm probably going to make hubby some chocolate chip cookies. he'll FAINT. i haven't made cookies for him in an age.

Eva, the USA is so bleedin' HUGE that as far as weather is concerned, at any given moment, you name it, we've GOT it somewhere. but i was always curious about this: does anyone know whether anyplace else in the world gets tornados like we do in the USA? i mean, we have Tornado SEASON! :eek2: you never hear about any other places with tornados. there surely HAS to be some other places, right? guess i should ask Siri....

i hope everyone's day presents them with as few challenging moments as possible. a kind universe would not deny us electricity. it just wouldn't. :twitch:

Quoting Wikipedia:
"Tornadoes have been observed on every continent except Antarctica. However, the vast majority of tornadoes in the world occur in the so-called "Tornado Alley" region of the United States, although they can occur nearly anywhere in North America. They also occasionally occur in south-central and eastern Asia, northern and east-central South America, Southern Africa, northwestern and southeast Europe, western and southeastern Australia, and New Zealand."

thanks, Eva. so, i was right that it seems that we get 'em more here! it seems like tornadoes go on for months here, and then they happen randomly at weird times of the year, and in weird places, out of "season."
