I woke up at 4.30 and thought to myself, no worries, go back to sleep- you have all day to relax. I thought it was Sunday. :crying1:
Oh well, at least I don't have anywhere I need to be today so that means I can move a little slower today. I offered to drive my mom to her PA house today but she turned me down. She left a bag of stuff on the sofa and needs to get it. I suggested that she drive here and I would drive to PA and back. It's only 10-15 minutes longer than straight from her house and it's mainly country roads instead of NJ highways. She thanked me but needs some time to herself. She and my dad are just --- *shrugs* -- I don't even know anymore...

I worked my butt off yesterday writing plans and I have all 6 weeks of Session Two complete. I'll go over them today because a few activities are long-term. I want to do them early in the session so we can observe and record data as we move through. And I just remembered! *slaps forehead* I only need 11 lessons, since the last Thursday is Thanksgiving. Better to have too many ideas than not enough, that's for sure. :/

I would love to get some scrapping done. I am missing that. A lot. But first, I have to work on groceries and a meal plan for the week. I keep saying I need to clean my office/desk and it still hasn't been done .

I feel sort of complain-y today so I apologize. Just a lot going on in my head. :spinningchair: <~ my brain

@vickyday Fantastic news that you got a bit of rain. We had a cold front move in with a lot of wind and that really took the leaves off. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend!

@MariJ I saw the news and photos of the fire on FB. I hope they get it fully contained soon. There is another fire in Suffern NY, which is about 20 minutes from me It's horrible. I have been stalking all of the weather apps and we *might* get rain on Friday. Please, please, please. :praying2:
Sending "be safe" vibes to your friend and all of the firefighters involved.

Morning, all. Just having a lazy morning... took my meds and inhaler. Yes, they are both working!!! :claphands2: Coughing is less - now if only the tiredness would ease up. Yes, Momma Chris... I am listening to my body and resting alot.
:rotfl: You have *no idea* how many times I had to bite my tongue and remove my fingers from the keyboard so I wouldn't say to not overdo it. :censored:
Thanks for the suggestion about the library holds!
Good luck at the DMV today.

@AK_Tracy How many books and stouts did you go through yesterday while relaxing on the couch? More books than stout? If it were the other way around-- more stout than books, you aren't going to remember a darn thing you read. :drunk:

@bitzee Your poor mom must have felt mortified walking back to your house without her underwear. I bet she felt naked for real. That is such an awesome solution to have her live with you but still have a feeling of independence.

@mimes1 :jawdrop3: BWUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is one of the funniest things I have ever heard! :floorlaugh:
Did your younger DD ever "forgive" her sister for that? :p

The sis & bil that Wendell helped on their new house had a hog roast for all of their helpers last night. It was a ton of fun and good food we drank bourbon.
That's shockingly good news. So this set of the ILs not part of the evil crew? Maybe not all is lost with them. So sorry about the LO crashing and burning. BTDT many times.

@Cherylndesigns What a gorgeous photo of you! And of you and Marilyn. ♥ Always a fun time at their house...
Love the boots and I am not surprised you wanted to take advantage of the party to wear them!

Hugs, my dear Oooos!

Good morning,
Went to bed with the chickens last night (10 is when chickens go to bed, right, @Cherylndesigns ?) ;) so I was up at the crack of dawn this morning....I should say awake at the crack of dawn because I didn't actually get up until 7.
My wrist was really sore yesterday for some reason, especially after shaking hands with people at church. I let it rest again all day and it feels better today. I'm getting behind in my scrapping!
The car is in the shop so I have an excuse to stay home even though we need some things from the pharmacy and grocery store.
I need to do some laundry but I don't think my wrist can handle Mark's heavy duty work clothes.
Hope everyone has a great day!

@faerywings Chris Mom didn’t walk home from up the street. We drove her home and pulled into our garage. Man, if we had suggested her walking home like that, we would have had a rebellion of epic proportions! She is tiny but feisty. She was so active until she fell a little over a year ago. That has robbed her of her independence.

I can’t give her back her independence, but I do what I can to make sure she has some quality to her life. We are maintaining her house and ours. We let her sit on her patio or front porch while we tend to her garden or trim shrubs. There are always neighbors out and about and they stop to chat with her when she is outside. We also take her with us a couple days a week when we babysit her great grandson. She loves interacting with him and thinks he is the smartest toddler ever. She goes everywhere with us. It is also a blessing that my hubby is so supportive. I couldn't do it without him.

Good Morning O friends! I can't believe how pitch black it is outside at 7:30 in the morning!! It was another busy weekend for my DH and myself (what else is new?). On Saturday the R.C.M.P. put on an expo at their brand new building and of course my Gary volunteered himself to work at from 12-3pm. We went an hour early and wandered around to all of the stalls they had set up and chatted it up with everyone. They had the police helicopter there and I took a photo of my DH with the pilot whom we have known for many years.
IMG_3910.JPG There were all kinds of kids at the expo and it was fun to see some of them dressed up as firemen, policemen and EMT's there were lots of fun activities for the kids. I said goodbye to my DH at noon when he had to work at the forensic stall and did fingerprinting and fun DNA experiments with all the little people. He had a great time! It was good to see all of the emergency first responders being so involved with the community!! So I spent the rest of Saturday getting groceries and stopped in at my fav craft store and picked up a couple of things. Got home and put everything away and then SIL asked if I would come over to the In-Laws and help her put away the patio furniture. She had been getting the backyard all cut back and ready for the winter all morning. They are keeping her very busy since she has split up with her recent boyfriend. Yesterday it poured rain, so it was a good day to get all the housework done, while my Gary worked on putting in a new drain cover and plug on the on-suite bathroom sink. It looks all shiny and clean and new again. Then we went down to the dock and took the Kaya-Arm off for the winter, sadly no more kayaking for us this year :sad2:. So today I have to go grab some Halloween treats and treat bags and get them ready for the neighbourhood kids. I am being a slacker about getting my calendar pages done, so maybe that will happen today also. I will shut up now as it looks like I have written an novel here :giggle4:. I hope that all of you have a lovely Monday!!

Ughh on waking up so darn early, but thankfully you have no where to be today! I am sorry that your Mom and Dad are having issues!! MIL and FIL are the same, he is driving her crazy because he is bored, she actually got him a new puzzle the other day and so now he is up at 5am working on that every morning instead of waking her up to keep him company. Sounds like you have lots planned for your future HS, it is so nice to hear how much you love your new job, but ya I miss scrapping too, seems there are never enough hours in the day!
Good morning,

So that's what time the chickens go to bed :bedtime: LOL. 7am is when I usually drag myself out of bed in the morning also. I am sorry that your wrist is still so sore, perhaps you need to have another x-ray? When my DH was reffing hockey, many years ago, he fell into the boards and really hurt his leg, they x-rayed his leg and said it wasn't broken, but a week later he went again and it was broken in two places, he never was able to ref again. Guess it depends on who is reading the x-ray and if they know what the heck they are looking at . I hope your wrist is feeling much better soon!

I can’t give her back her independence, but I do what I can to make sure she has some quality to her life. We are maintaining her house and ours. What a wonderful daughter you are!! Your Mom is so lucky to have you taking good care of her! We are maintaining two houses now too and thankfully the In-Laws is just across the street, not sure what will happen if one of them passes though, I can't see MIL staying in that house alone, she would want to be in a care home I think, but FIL would be the opposite, it will be a interesting few years ahead I think!

Ok I will be getting a face time call from Heather shortly, so I better get off of here. :waving3:

Well, I went to daughters house and played with the grands instead of sitting on my butt. Sigh, I should have stayed home and rested but those kids are so cute (and LOUD) and I hadn't seen them in a week. So yeah, only got part of a book read and skipped the stout.

Oh dear, I'm sorry your write is bugging you. If you can, financially, I would maybe get new X-rays while its not as swollen. Like Trudy said, depends on. who reads the X-ray. Hubs fell off our roof and they said "maybe" a fracture in his ankle. His pain tolerance is SOOOO high they figured it wasn't too bad. We know it was broke. The good news is they put him in a boot. The bad news is they said it was up to him how long he wore it since its only a maybe fracture. Stupid doc. I hope it feels/heals soon. And why do mens clothes wight so much more? :giggle4: I swear they line the pockets with lead.

This is wonderful. She is a lucky lady and you are a wonderful daughter to do this for your mom. I love that you have the kind of relationship that allows you to do this. I could have done it for my dad. I love that her house isn't too far from yours and she's able to "go home" and enjoy things still, even if its just an hour here or there. I am sure it means so much to her.

Then we went down to the dock and took the Kaya-Arm off for the winter, sadly no more kayaking for us this year :sad2:.
Always a sad day. We procrastinated and now we have to scramble to put the boats away this year. They're calling for a storm this afternoon so we have to hurry.

I had to giggle. We're expecting a winter storm this afternoon through tomorrow. And guess what they predict? 12" of snow. Yep, they're calling it a storm. :giggle4: Maybe for the first snow but its not really storm amounts. A couple years ago when we got 3' of snow, that was a storm. Took 2 days to get our roads plowed. This just feels like winter. Just praying the rain part of the storm doesn't arrive. So we must quick put away anything outside we haven't taken care of yet, then we hope to finish putting up kitchen tile so we can grout next Monday. I am so ready to clean and put my kitchen back together. It looks amazing but ugh the mess at the moment.

Off to get more coffee. Have a wonderful day.

Morning, all. Took my shower right after I woke up at 7AM, then I did a quick CT check-in here. Made it over to MVD a few minutes early but they let me in. Renewed my driver's license and handicap placards. They gave me paper print-outs for them. Taped the handicap printout to the inside of the windshield as soon as I got home so I won't lose it. I stopped over at the Senior Citizen Library and picked up a few books. Will be taking the other books to the public library tomorrow (it is closed on Monday). Decided that was enough running around for today. I am going to try to pick up all the fallen plums in the backyard this afternoon. Think all the plums have fallen off the tree - but there are still lots of leaves not only my trees but on all the neighbor's. It is suppose to get to 80*F today... but tomorrow will be lucky to get to 70*F and will have our first freeze here in the valley ... and then we will be having cool fall weather from then on.

Sounds like most are doing the prep for winter - putting things away. Lucky I can leave my patio furniture there as half of it under the house roof and the other half is under the wooden pergola.

I feel for all of you for having to prep for winter. We used to have to winterize our house/yard and boat. That is not necessary here in FL so I love it

@AK_Tracy ---Stout/book/ couch....stouts are my favorite beers...books always reading one and couch- my favorite place to read is the Florida room. Wow 12" of "the white stuff" That will keep you out plowing for a little bit. Do you have a long driveway? Do you plow for others too?

@bitzee You are doing a wonderful thing for your mother. How amazing to have that wonderful relationship. I am sure she really appreciates the kindness and love.

@vickyday that is terrible that your wrist is hurting so much l I agree you might need another x-ray I had a friend who had to get another in a similar situation and sure enough hairline crack. Good luck with the car hoping you get it back soon so you can run your errands.

Went to a friends house for dinner last night it was fun, I made stuffed mushrooms that were so good they were all gone. I worked in the yard today trying to get some plants together to give to a neighbor who needs garden plants. I found another monarch caterpillar so I put it in the habitat the 4 others that are in chrysalis. Tonight it is Music Monday at the club so we will go over for social time and eat then listen to the band.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I do have a long driveway. We plow a straight line from road to lake and its about 2 acres long. But I dont plow for anyone else. Too many rules and liabilities. So far we have 6" and its suppose to get worse over night. Thankfully the rain never arrived they said would happen. So tomorrow will be fun, probably plow before I can get out to PT.

I love forensic science! Or at least what I see on TV's crime shows! Whether it's all true or not, it's very interesting! Is that what your DH works in?
I know you and your SIL are sad to have to put the kayaks away for the winter! What winter activities do you do to replace the warm weather activities?
Yeah, I probably need to get the wrist checked again. It's been a week and a half since I fell. I should probably at least send my doc a note to ask her about it.

Did you get the "storm" yesterday?
12" would definitely halt life here in NC since we aren't used to getting much snow!
