Hellooooo! Happy Monday!! I am pulling in all of the good vibes I have, today is Caitlyn's big interview. I know that she will do absolutely amazing but it is a *lot* to get through.

Yesterday turned out nicer (weather-wise) than I expected and I was able to rake about 3/4 of the front lawn. I raked only where the dogs can reach on their leads. I stay away from the Halloween props, I have learned the hard way to say away because I either 1. freak myself out over and over when I see a man (lawnmower man) out of the corner of my eye or 2. I trip over the ropes that are tying the props to the ground. Thankfully (glass half full here, if it weren't for the woods, I wouldn't have as many leaves) I don't have to bag the leaves, I just rake them into the woods in the back.
Scott was home for dinner and afterward, Cait, Tom, Gary, and I watched the 1980s version of The Fly.

My shoulders are going to be unhappy with me today. Jaida threw up yesterday -- a lot- and I need to steam-clean the carpet. I normally do them in November, closer to Christmas but it can't wait. Between raking yesterday and steam cleaning today, I am pretty sure I am going to need a heat pack on it tonight. That's my big plan today, I also have to finish up my food shopping for tomorrow morning's pick-up.

Super quick question for you all too:
I got a pack of turkey kielbasa from the pantry. I haven't cooked anything like that in years since I use to throw it on the grill. Any ideas of what I can do with it? I can't stand saurkraut (sp??? I know that's wrong) but am pretty much open to any other ideas. TIA!

@bcgal00 I bet the dogs were all thrilled to be home!! So many wagging tails and kisses. How is Bella today? Poor sweetie! Is Taz all rested up after being a Big Brother the entire weekend? *G*
I am really going to be jealous of your hot tub by the end of today.
It has to be reassuring how good it feels to be back home in Kamloops.

@tanteva oooh how awesome!! Castles! It has to be really awesome to live somewhere where there is so much visible history. NJ has a lot of history, too bad the Brits destroyed so much of it as they colonized the area. Anyway-- *slaps tape over mouth*
You must be in well-deserved heaven to have a gorgeous room upgrade! Good luck with your and Urban's research days today.

@Cherylndesigns Yikes, that the wind took your cushions away but whew, that you were able to find them.
I'm so happy that my reminder of the light helped you. I am pretty sure I'll be using mine this week. It has to feel extra quiet with Ava and Adrienne away. When do they come back?
We used to tease Scott that he should have been a lawyer because he would debate everybody about everything. He would have hated it but would have been awesome. We played a card game "Argue" (IIRC) and he had me and Cait completely convinced of one argument that he was lying through his teeth about.

Sending everyone big hugs today!! xoxo

Good morning. We arrived in Iowa yesterday at about 5:30. Came straight to the hotel and that was the evening. Excited to spend a few days in one place.

@faerywings all the good vibes in the world heading Cait’s way! Wouldn’t that be something to have two kids with their careers really taking off!

@Cherylndesigns I bet it really does seem quiet there with both Adrienne and Ava gone. Thought of you a lot as we drove from Table Rock to Oklahoma City. Brian and I talked a lot about where we might like to retire after the kids are out of school. It’s all talk right now because, let’s face it, it has to be near at least one of my kids.

@bcgal00 I completely understand what you are saying about how good it felt to be out of Vancouver. The traffic of Little Rock and New Orleans and Oklahoma City were all more than I wanted to deal with. I know the dogs were happy to have you back. I keep texting Shaun asking for pictures of Andie and Hayden.

@tanteva I’m so glad that you are having a good time. The castle is amazing. Hope you turned up lots of new information about family.

It was good to see @BrightEyes pop in just to let us know she is ok. I hope that they can do something for the pinched nerve.

Brian is having coffee with a friend and I guess I should get cleaned up before he gets back here. I’ll be thinking of Cait all day.

Miss you ladies like crazy. ((Hugs))

Good morning ladies. Had a wonderful sleep after my busy day yesterday. I got up at 6:30, fed the birds and dogs and then headed out for a day of photo walking with a friend. What a lovely way to spend my birthday. We got photos of ducks, birds, hawks, eagles, horses, highland cattle (including a baby that had just been born a new hours earlier), salmon in the river, chipmunk and bighorn sheep. Then I came home for an hour and then we headed off to the movie theater to watch a scary movie "Smile". I ate a whole big bag of popcorn and a bag of M&M's. Today I'm back to my regular low carb (before my stomach blows up LOL).

Today I'll be looking for a few low carb soups to make in the IP for Jen and I. Later I take the dogs in for their nail trimming. We will go for a drive in the grassland afterwards.

This morning I realized that I am a bad doggy mum. I forgot Taz's birthday (5 days before mine) LOL. We had been busy getting things ready for our trip last week that I totally blanked out on the date and that Monday was his 9th b-day. Today I'll give him a few extra treats and a I know he'll enjoy the trip up into the grasslands later.

@faerywings Sending C all the good vibes and luck I can possibly send. Sounds like she is well prepared, so hopefully she sails thru the interview with flying colors.

@LSlycord Have enjoyed your holiday pics on FB. Looks like you are enjoying yourself.

I'm going to check in on my CT stuff and see what's been going on in my absence. HAGD

Good morning from rainy, dark OK. I'll definitely be using my light today. I'm SO ready for Adrienne and Ava to be home. They get home about 9 tonight - at least they are supposed to arrive in Tulsa at 9. They'll be exhausted tomorrow. It's been so quiet w/o them popping n and out. We've been texting a lot and they've sent me lots of pictures, but I sure miss them.

Chris @faerywings I'm sending lots and lots of good vibes to Cait today!!! She'll do great - I can't wait to hear all about it. So, Scott is a debater, too? You know exactly what I'm talking about then. Braden used to drive me crazy as a kid - Chuck called him "Ratchet Jaws" (don't ask where he got that from) because he NEVER stopped talking. Ava was Little Miss Chatterbox, LOL. Those two were the talkers out of the 5.

I hope you're not too sore today! Take it easy and hopefully, you have some good topical meds. I don't know what to do with Kielbasa - maybe just treat it like sausage? Do you all like beans? We like pinto beans - soaked overnight for obvious reasons. I'd probably cut it up and put it in a pot of beans.

Linda @LSlycord I'm sure you're having a wonderful road trip. It sure is pretty out here, isn't it? I never realized how pretty it was until we visited the first time. Glad you've in Iowa and can rest up in one place for awhile. Miss you too!!

Rae @bcgal00 there's NO way you're a bad dog mum. You're one of the best dog moms ever.

I'm going to go and get cleaned up. We were going to go out today but it's so bad out. We've put it off until the rain stops, which won't be tomorrow, either, according to the forecast.

Kielbasa HAS to be cooked with cabbage or sauerkraut! That's just all there is to it! ;)

Quick in and out since it is bedtime.
We left Alabama last night at 9:15 (8:15 their time) and got home around 4:20 a.m. We slept until about 10:30 and got up. Mark is in bed already. But I am getting ready to go. I should sleep well tonight!
Had a great time at the Bible conference last Monday - Wednesday. Came home, slept, packed again and headed to Alabama. Got there at bedtime. During the day we did some leaf peeping (still not too colorful), ate lots, played LOTS of Qwirkle and did some painting. All relaxing stuff! The week passed quickly! I peeked in here a couple of times but not much! First thing I did when I turned on the computer this afternoon was find something to scrap with!

OK, nite nite!
See you tomorrow!
