Happy Monday! I am still alive and kickin' :boydance:
I was really darn proud of myself. I had everything under control and wasn't stressed at all. I thought I was going to be but I think I stressed so much during the week, it was all out of my system. There were a couple of cancellations, including the one person who is gluten-free and I had nothing for her to eat, which worked out since the house was packed. I love having everyone here, once we are all together. I have the best family. So much laughter and hugs ♥
My niece (BFF's daughter) commented something and Cait asked me about a picture which led me to grab the old photo albums I keep shoved under the end table (they are out of sight, out of mind). We ended up looking at a bunch of them and the kids thought the dresses/styles from the 1990s were outlandish. (the poofy shoulders on her wedding dress and my maid of honor dress-- sure, they were *big* --but the way they were carrying, you would have thought we lived in the Capital of the Hunger Games.

(Bwuhahhaaha! I searched for the image and this came up on Pinterest. It wanted me to pin it to my Mother of the Bride board! :floorlaugh:)

On the other hand, my FIL looked awful and at the end of the night, I finally had a chance to whisper to my MIL about that. He has A-Fib and apparently, it is acting up really badly. The cardio specialist wants to do ablation which despite everything going on with my mom's heart I knew nothing about. But his potassium levels are high and they sent him to a nephrologist to get that figured out before they can do the ablation procedure. Such a small medical world too- his kidney Dr is the same as my mom's and the cardiac specialist is in the same group as my mom's. That's reassuring since I know that hers are supposed to be some of the best of the best.

I have a bunch of leftovers so I won't have to cook for the next couple of days. Whew!
For the two recipes I almost bailed on (bruschetta and breadsticks), I am very glad that I stuck with them. Next party, I am gonna double those recipes and cook nothing else. LOL!

I wish I could do nothing today...but alas *puts a hand on forehead as a drama queen*
I have to do some cleanup and take W to the vet this morning. Coloring Crew is this afternoon but I might bail on that. I *still* haven't had a chance to upload my CP and today is the last day of the sale. The O has to take some sort of priority today.

Thanks for listening to me complain about stupid stuff this past week

@vickyday Poor Mark- but check the bottle of Excedrin. IIRC, there is aspirin in that too. Isn't it an aspirin/acetaminophen/caffeine combo? I hope both your heads and stomachs feel better today.
Oh, how awful for that family. My heart breaks for the girls.
Beautiful yarn and pattern!

@BrightEyes What a weird weather pattern everyone is stuck in! NJ is supposed to break records for October this week. My wonderful heat (near 80!!!) is going to be back which means we'll be warmer than you.
Would you believe that no one commented on how festive Braxton and L-O'B looked? I guess my family is so used to having them dressed up and posed that there is no reason to comment. Even the little dog skellie was wearing W's old Halloween bandana. LOL
You are back to scrapping like a fiend again, between you and Cheryl, 99% of the Gallery must belong to you :D

@Cherylndesigns I kept my eye on Braxton, he had that wine glass next to him and he can be sneaky :drunk:
What happened with your computer?????????

I am in here early as I have my mammogram this morning. Need to drop of some mail too.

Oh, I am in love... just saw Timeless Beauty by Magical Reality Designs in the store last evening and couldn't resist using it for Challenge #5. It was well worth the hour I spent extracting the lady. Sometimes a kit just stands out and yells "Take Me".... and a lot of Magical Reality Designs are like that.

Glad your party went so well... but of course it did!!! So glad you relaxed and enjoyed it. Think the family and friends expected Braxton and L-O'B to be there in full regalia so no comments on how festive they looked.
Yes, it is great to be back to scrapping again. @Cherylndesigns put me in the shade with all the LOs she did for Color Play. WOW - 15 LOs! So proud of her that she picked up that banner and ran with it!

@Cherylndesigns hope the problem with your computer gets solved quickly. You need it to keep going on your scrapping spree!

Have to run... will be back later.

Good motning Lovelies. I'm up but not "at em". Chris @faerywings what a party that must have been! I'm sure Braxton got a little tipsy, even if he IS sneaky. Those pictures - LMBO - those 90's shoulder pads were a riot, weren't they? Remember Dallas? Even their nightgowns and robes had those huge shoulder pads and Designing Women. :floorlaugh::giggle4::lol23:Sounds like a good time was had by all. I had no doubt about that and sorry your FIL had a round of A-fib. Chuck deals with that from time to time. It really knocks him out. He has medication now that really helps, if he can catch it in time.

Chris @faerywings and Kay @BrightEyes you won't believe what happened to me night before last!! You know I'm a night owl, but I SO start winding down about midnight, by taking my sleeping pill, then thirty minutes later, fixing my "sleepy tea" then by one o'clock I hit the wall. Well, instead of hitting the wall, I knocked my whole "bit" glass of tea (I drink it from a tall plastic glass to get the full effect) and it went everywhere. the majority of it went under and on top of my laptop!!! I panicked and started pulling all of the cords out of my laptop - you should have seen me. I have 3 EHD's plugged in, plus my mouse thingie, plut my new monitor. I KNOW you're not supposed to just pull plug out, but at that point, I didn't care. I picked my laptop up and ran into the bathroom and got the first towel out and sat is on it's side on the towel. I was praying that the tea hadn't gotten into any of the ports. Keep in mind that it's after midnight now. I grabbed a bunch of towels and head back into the office. Now I lay all the EHD's on another towel and check all of the tips to see if they're wet. Meanwhile, my entire desk is covered, and the tea is dripping down onto the floor.

I head back to the bathroom and dry off my laptop some more and hard boot it down so I won't get shocked or anything. Then I lovingly held it and told it I was so sorry and that if it just came back on, I would never put an open container beside it again. Then I sat it back on it's side on another towel. I head back to my mess in the office and start with another towel on top of my desk and had to move a bunch of stuff that was just sitting around. I had found a few old pictures that I wanted to scrap and they got "touched" but I think they're okay.

So, I kept telling myself to go to bed and wait til morning. NO that wasn't happending. After I got the whole floor mopped up - 3 more towels, and shades of being under my desk again. but who knew a big glass of tea could go so far??? It was clear back in the corner under my desk. Brought my now dry laptop in and put it in my chair. About one o'clock, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I sat it back on my desk and powered it up. It came back on!!! I got my big monitor plugged back in and it said "NO SIGNAL". Not good. I did decide to wait til the next day to plug all the EHD's back in but had to have my mouse thingie. After I got my laptop powered up all the stuff that was supposed to be on my big monitor was back on my laptop. I had been working on Rachel's Prerelease when the disaster happened, and of course, had been saving it, but didn't have ALL of it saved. I was able to open PSE (whew) and man does the laptop screen look TINY after working on my big monitor. I thought, oh well, if that's all I saved, at least I have that. My eyes have adjusted to this big screen now, though. OK, I DID go to bed by now and decided I'd tackle the problem with the non-working monitor yesterday am. I could not for the life of me remember how to set that up to go from my laptop to the monitor anyway. To make a LONG story SHORT, I got up yesterday am and started searching on the internet about how to get my stuff from the laptop to the monitor and I finally figured it out!! I KNEW the monitor was working, because the lights underneath were still on. Got all of my EHD's plugged in and everything is working! I KNEW you'd all want to hear this story because w/o our computers, we're toast.

So, that's my story and I praised my equipment for continuing to work. I don't normally have open containers of liquid on my desk, but I messed up and they will be sitting on the table that's not connected to my desk from now on. My night tea is the only time I break the no lid rule. Whew, I'm worn out again just telling you girls about it. Disaster averted! :smiliesdoingwave::upsidedownbanana::boydance::bowdown2:

Kay @BrightEyes I'm not sure I'm going to tackle 15 CP's again - but they're all in the gallery and they're all promoted. Thanks for your kind words. :hug1: :hug4:

I hate to "vent and run" but this is my day to do the Gallery Standout Blog and I normally start the day before getting my ducks in a row. Adrienne and I ran around all afternoon, so the ducks didn't get lined up. We DID find a new (to us) store in town, next to a "farm store" that had the best clothes and other stuff and the cheapest prices. We were in there for a long time and she made me try on jeans. She knows the only way I'll try on clothes is if she "runs" them to me. I did find one pair out of all the jeans I tried on. That's good for me. I also got a cute fairly heavy, sherpa lined flannel jacket and a big cozy sweater with buttons up the arms. Very unusual - it's cream colored. Their prices are ridiculously low, and we'll be back. LOL Way easier than driving to Muskogee to TJ Maxx or Marshals and same prices.

Hugs to all and to everyone who comes in after me. XOXO

Good morning ladies. I am so glad we have the cruise to go on in a few weeks, to perk us up. Today is a hard day for me, we lost out on the Calgary home we had put an offer on. I really thought that was going to be our new home. Another offer came in and we agreed to let them have it since our home hasn't sold and its not fair to keep them hanging. We'll leave the house on the market til end of Nov but then pull it off until the spring and we'll have to try all over again. Even if an offer came in now, we might not be able to accept it b/c we need a home with a walk-out basement suite for Jen and they are few and far between in the Calgary area. They are not listing many new homes now, slowing down for the season. This has been so stressful and I am so sad to have to stay here until next year (if we can even sell the house at that point). The trouble is that this house is too big, too expensive for most buyers right now b/c of the interest rates and economy. Our realtor said most buyers are looking for something smaller and much cheaper. So, its a difficult time, but I am so thankful we'll have a fantastic cruise to go on in a few weeks which will be amazing and perk us all up. I booked 8 excursions so far and will book two more in Rome. We will be exhausted by the time we come home but what amazing adventures we will have.

Today I will putter, try to keep busy. I am feeling worn out.

@faerywings Glad the party was a success. Leftovers for a few days is a good thing.

@Cherylndesigns What a terrible experience and even worse that it happened so late in the night. I'm really glad for you that it is all working.

I'm getting more coffee and getting on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Yes, he knows about the Excedrin.....the aspirin/caffeine/acetaminophen combo is what helps his headaches! He will only take them if he absolutely has to, like he did last night. Within an hour or so the headache was gone! Unfortunately, he had already thrown up twice with the migraine! Today you would never know anything was wrong with him yesterday! I still have a headache, but I don't even feel like I can complain about it as bad as Mark's get with a migraine! I hate it because there is absolutely nothing I can do for them! I'm just thankful he was better by bedtime and could sleep!

Good afternoon!
Poor Mark ended up puking twice yesterday with the headache which became a full-blown migraine by the afternoon! Last night he gave up and took some Excedrin Migraine medicine, even though he is not supposed to be taking anything with aspirin in it now due to his stomach ulcers. But, the headache was basically gone by bedtime! I'm so glad! He sure had a miserable afternoon!

We went to lunch today and Mark will be leaving early from work so we can attend the funeral. Yesterday was just the viewing that I attended while Mark was home sick in bed.

Today I have been cleaning under the bathroom counter and kitchen counter plus doing laundry. Oh, I did get some groceries while I was out after I dropped Mark back to work.

Have a great afternoon!
