I will be the first one to say that I am glad that I have nowhere I need to be on this very dark, wet, and dreary Monday.
I have been awake since 4 again so I am tired but at least my mood isn't terrible. But I am in comfy clothes and can stay inside and -- hmm. Do exactly what I have been doing for the last 7 months- nothing! ound:
How was everyone's weekend? I spent the majority of my day in the kitchen. I made homemade falafel. I break it into two sessions- one to make the mixture and one to fry them up. Since I forget every darn time to only soak half of the bag of beans, I needed to double the recipe. Today I have to deal with the greasy frying pans. Yuck. But man, they are so good. I am going to freeze some of them for when Scott gets back home on Wednesday. If there are any leftover after today, that is.
Other than that, I don't know what else I did. Oh, wait- I scrapped a page for the Letter Art challenge- a photo of Miss J wearing her cute spooky bandana Caitlyn made for her. J has the best "smile."
Not much happening today other than food shopping order and cleaning the kitchen. Caitlyn has meetings and classes all day. She had to do a histographical interview with a first-generation immigrant for one of her classes. She asked our neighbor if she could interview him. He was born in Vienna and moved to Brazil as a child. Then he came here as a young adult. He is incredibly smart and fascinating so I knew that she would get a lot of great info from him. She talked to him for *4* hours. Gary texted her to see if she was going to be back in time for dinner or should we wait. The interview only took two hours, the rest of the time they spent just talking and filling in details and making further connections.
These are the people that we go next door for pizza and drinks often. We haven't done that in a really long time, probably since last year definitely not since COVID. We always have good conversations with them.
Wishing everyone a terrific day!
