I will be the first one to say that I am glad that I have nowhere I need to be on this very dark, wet, and dreary Monday.
I have been awake since 4 again so I am tired but at least my mood isn't terrible. But I am in comfy clothes and can stay inside and -- hmm. Do exactly what I have been doing for the last 7 months- nothing! :pound:

How was everyone's weekend? I spent the majority of my day in the kitchen. I made homemade falafel. I break it into two sessions- one to make the mixture and one to fry them up. Since I forget every darn time to only soak half of the bag of beans, I needed to double the recipe. Today I have to deal with the greasy frying pans. Yuck. But man, they are so good. I am going to freeze some of them for when Scott gets back home on Wednesday. If there are any leftover after today, that is. ;)

Other than that, I don't know what else I did. Oh, wait- I scrapped a page for the Letter Art challenge- a photo of Miss J wearing her cute spooky bandana Caitlyn made for her. J has the best "smile."

Not much happening today other than food shopping order and cleaning the kitchen. Caitlyn has meetings and classes all day. She had to do a histographical interview with a first-generation immigrant for one of her classes. She asked our neighbor if she could interview him. He was born in Vienna and moved to Brazil as a child. Then he came here as a young adult. He is incredibly smart and fascinating so I knew that she would get a lot of great info from him. She talked to him for *4* hours. Gary texted her to see if she was going to be back in time for dinner or should we wait. The interview only took two hours, the rest of the time they spent just talking and filling in details and making further connections.
These are the people that we go next door for pizza and drinks often. We haven't done that in a really long time, probably since last year definitely not since COVID. We always have good conversations with them.

Wishing everyone a terrific day!

Cheryl- I don't know how you do it, stay up late and scrap. My brain turns off by 5 pm. It has always been that way. I will have to look at your LOs and leave some love. It is so funny, by New Jersey standards, we do live in the boondocks. :D The reason the craft fair was held this past weekend is because it is the traditional date for our Autumn Lights Festival when we celebrate the town's first traffic light. We moved here in 1995 and it was brand spanking new back then. But my boondocks are probably more populated than the OK ones where you are now.
Daisy is precious, too funny about the kitty! Up until March, we always had cats-- 6 at one time for years. Our first dog thought she was a cat. Ray never bothered with them and J kept her space. We only had two when we fostered W and they stayed upstairs. She was a wild one when we got her and no self-control. It could have ended badly if they were on the same floor.
Bet you can't wait for a kitten!
That is a great memory to have -- Grampie jokes. I love that! When we watchTV shows and they make puns, we all look at Gary with raised eyebrows. We are watching The Haunting of Bly Manor and the cook is punny- he said in Episode Three that was brutal! :fear: :pound:

Jean- the weather changed for sure from Saturdays sunshine to cold and rainy today. Are you getting the rain from Delta too?
Thank you for the good thoughts for Scott. We both appreciate it.
As for my nightmares, I need one of Professor Dumbledore's pensieves. I dreamed last night that I was in a very crowded department store and no one had masks The weird thing is that I didn't go to dept stores pre-COVID and now I never am w/o a mask if I leave the house. I don't know why I keep dreaming that.
My town has a drop box, I think my entire county, maybe the whole state, has one in each town. Makes sense since NJ is all mail-in this time.

Nancy- How cute of Luther and Lucy to follow each other on their walks.
The Porchfest really sounds like it was a nice way for your town to support each other. i think that is exactly how Gary felt, he was angry that so many weren't wearing masks when we were out on Sat. Maybe I get angry and scared too and I am just internalizing it which then comes out in my dreams? *nods*
That is so crazy that your SIL had no water for so long. I bet she is thrilled to be back home but I hope that the itch from the water is not going to be a problem. I wonder why that would happen?
I have been voting by mail since 2007? 08? Never had a problem but this year I am extra nervous. Good luck getting yours done and mailed!

My brain still feels a bit broken and asleep- sorry for all of my ramblings!

Hi everyone, miss you all and no matter what's going on in my life, I keep coming back to my O family :)

Happy Thanksgiving Trudy (and any other Canadians). I'm waiting for D to come back from picking up Bailey for dinner with us.

Nothing too special as I've been dealing with arthritic back injury for wks now and can't be on my feet very long or sitting too long either so computer time was limited and I've not been out taking photos. Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon and with some lifestyle modifications hopefully won't ever get this bad again.

I just got a kneeling chair and its easier on my back than a regular chair so am hoping to get back to my normal computer time again now.

Chris - I'm with you, I can't seem to get the gumption to do much of anything after dinner except read or binge shows. We're halfway through S2 of Altered Carbon right now.

I'm going to go check out the store. I'm missing the 52 inspirations and when there's a sale might get it again. Maybe I'll even join in on a few challenges soon too.

I'll try to pop in more often now and visit. Take care everyone.

Hi all. Rae, nice to see you and sorry you're having problems. The chair sounds like it might be an answer though.

Chris, you and your dreams. I have some weird ones occasionally, but don't normally remember them long enough to talk about them.

Yes, I love puns - so many people don't get them and I think that's super funny. I guess when you grow up hearing them, that's all you know. My dad just came up with them off the top of his head - probably like Gary does.

I don't know if I told you all that our oldest daughter, son-in-law and youngest granddaughter have been here all weekend. They're leaving early in the morning to go home to Florida. Their house is coming along nicely - they'll live very close to us. Their house is huge! We always had big houses when the kids were home and all of their friends hung out at our house, but I don't want all of that to take care of anymore.

Yes, I'm very anxious to get a kitty. Ava just got one at the animal shelter and I'm sure they'll have plenty more when we're ready. She got the sweetest gray tabby and named her Harley. I think we're going to try to get Daisy and Harley together to get Daisy used to cats. She absolutely loved the cat that was here, though. That cat is the most laid back cat I've ever seen. He's only a few months old and they brought him all the way out here on the plane. He just laid in his little cat carrier the whole time.

It's very late - time to get ready for bed. Chris, I've always been a terrible night owl. I don't like to get up early either. I usually get up about 10. I love that I can sleep as late as I want to.
