happy, happy Monday! How are all of you today? I hope that everyone is doing well.

Oh man, my house smelled good yesterday afternoon :) I made an apple pie and I tossed the peels, a cinnamon stick and a half of an orange that had been juiced already into a pot of water to simmer. Between that and the pie in the oven, it was awesome. The food processor is working out with the pie crust. It is not a traditional food processor but a Ninja chopper/blender thingy, so I was a bit nervous to use it on a double pie crust. But it comes out so much smoother than when I use a pastry blender. Easier on my hands and shoulders. Rolling it out is a breeze. This is going to be a big help.

I finished some more decorations and I have a little centerpiece on my table now with the black and purple glitter pumpkins on a plastic disposable plate that I painted with some black and purple netting that I got for $1. It is on the black spiderweb-lace runny that I got for $1.69. I love a bargain.

Today I am taking Cait up to Planned Parenthood to see if we can do something about her horrible cramps. It looks like it located in a medical park so we should not have to deal with anything crazy like protesters. Poor kid, I hope this helps for her. :(

It looks like it will be a nice day too so I am hoping to work with Jaida outside a bit in the afternoon. Gary tried walking her yesterday but had the wrong collar on her and she pulled like mad.

I am not going to do a "what day today is" because I won't dignify Columbus Day. But I can do a QOTD (just have to think of something fun!)

...

How about this...

QOTD What is your favorite thing to photograph? Scenery, architecture? I spent way to long on Pinterest yesterday looking at photographs of doors. Some really amazing doors out there, but I would never think to photograph them LOL. Kids? Pets? Wildlife? The Devils?? That one is for you, Nancy!
I am struggling that I just don't seem to have a photography bug in me ATM. 95% of the photos I have taken this year are of my dogs. 2% of my cats. 3%- of my fingers or feet from my cell phone camera.

Do you have a favorite photograph? I would love to see them, if you want to link us to ut, or post it here.

You were all very quiet in here over the weekend, and I hope it was that you were all enjoying a fab weekend!

Claire- thanks for the info on the photo swap. It really sounds liek a good way to switch things up. And as you can see by my photo collection description, I am in serious dearth of variety.LOL

I hope you are not too achy today after all of that bulb planting, that is tough with having to dig deep for most of them. And 150! That is a lot, but will be so worth it in the spring!
Good luck with the Social Services appt today, let us know how it goes. My fingers are crossed for quick and simple for you.

Hugs to all!

good morning! Yes I missed yesterday as my DH and I got up early and headed to Dingman Falls and George W Childs Park. It was such a glorious day in NJ that we decided to see the leaves and water falls. It was a perfect fall day. I have been to the falls a couple of times but I have never gotten my hubby there. Dingman Falls Park has two falls and there is an awesome board walk that even takes you to the top of the falls. The other park though has 3 really cool waterfalls and it has a whole board walk path that takes you up and down and over the falls. It is really impressive! The last time I was here was with my DIL a couple of years ago and they were in the process of restoring the path and well now it is done and it is gorgeous. We took so many photos! On the way to the falls we went past Dale's Market and that made my hubby so happy. Turns out they are known for their many flavored wings. So on the way home we stopped and bought some. Chris was I close to you this Sunday? The leaves are really pretty. Got home and then went for a late afternoon walk with my girlfriend. Watched the Giants win in the last seconds. Glad that MLB suspended the Dodger's player for taking out the Mets player and breaking his leg. I would have thought there should have been a suspension if the play had been the other way. That play does not belong in baseball! Just hope the Mets win tonight and don't do anything stupid but Matt Harvey Mets starting pitcher is known to get emotional.

Chris glad you are getting your decorating projects done for Halloween. Yesterday was lovely for being outside.

Claire that is a lot of planting! Your spring flowers should be gorgeous!

QOTD. I love to take photos! I love taking hockey photos and I love outdoor photos mostly birds though I don't have the lens that would allow me to take the photos I really want to take.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Happy Thanksgiving Monday!!

yes I survived the turkey dinner at the In-Laws no heartburn no upset stomach. MIL was not in charge of the Turkey cooking she left it up to FIL. Actually she has this amazing convection oven the has a probe to cook the perfect turkey. But of course she has no idea how to use it  (you wouldn't want to read the instructions or anything?) So FIL figured it out and it turned out perfectly!! Why she would never use it before is beyond me??? :noidea: I did not have the stuffing as it was filled with bread and onion so I am thinking I probably avoided the heartburn because of it. Also no room for pumpkin pie so that maybe helped also. Yesterday was busy right from the get go, running around doing errands then lots of work outside, cleaning up after the wind and rain storm we had. Today looks like more of the same, then sun for the rest of the week. Well that is what they are forecasting so far LOL.

Chris - I am jealous of your great smelling house!! I never get to bake an apple pie, hubby hates them and I am not going to bake a whole pie for myself :mmph: Hope that Cait gets some relief from her horrible cramps! Enjoy your lovely weather outside today!!

Nancy - Wow that sounds like an amazing place to go for lovely walk! We watched the Blue Jays game yesterday, been a long time since I watched baseball, it was great to see them do so well!!

Claire - so happy that the Social Service Review went well for you all! So nice not to have lots of meetings they must be such a pain!! Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

QOTD - for some reason I love to photograph trees, guess I just love how beautiful and majestic they are. Wish I was a better photographer! But I really like this one I took at Port Renfrew.

Yesterday had long phone call before I really got started and never got back. Today got a really nice email from program chair about the talk I gave Saturday with nice, supportive comments. Always feels good to be appreciated!

Sunny but cool and windy today.

Chris, I keep thinking how super your decorations must look. Almost makes me want to do something. Good luck with Princess J.

Nancy, I'm sure hockey photos give you pleasure, but we all sure enjoy those from your trips too. Your Sunday sounds lovely too.

Claire, what nice news for Robbie! Your gardening sounds like things will be so beautiful when everything blooms.

QOTD: I'm not sure what would be favorite, but I've always liked to photograph insects including butterflies and things like spiders. I had a macro lens that was great for that but now cameras come with a macro setting making it easier. Trouble with knees and things makes it hard to get down to their level though.

Have a good one!
