Was it me or did last week go faster than usual? You would think that it would go slower since I was sort of off my feet for a few days. The weekend went by extremely quickly. The month is starting to go by too. We still haven't decorated for Halloween other than the few things we put out for the Sept party. The plan is to do that tomorrow.

My parents had a nice time visiting and oh my goodness, they really like Tom. I mean *a lot.* My mom called me in the afternoon just to recap some of the things they talked about. I guess they are still getting over the fact that he talks to them instead of sulking in a corner. heh. Caitlyn and my mom were in true form and they kept each other laughing for a long time. Other than that stuff, my day was quiet, mostly got food shopping and week's schedules set. We watched an episode of Squid Game on Scott's recommendation. I knew what the "catch" was so I wasn't surprised but darn it is dark.
The TV rec that I have is much lighter-- Ghosts. Anyone see that? I LMBO at it, much more than I thought I would. It is very campy.

I think I am going to go through my Faery-Wings supplies today. Since I didn't make anything last year for the holidays, I have no idea what I have left and what I will need to order. Did I tell you what I think I am doing for gifts for the extended family this year?
I did small gift baskets with handmade items for all of the adults. I think I am doing the same but maybe on a slightly larger scale since I will be able to add in small items that I can pick up at the stores where last year I couldn't. I think I am going to make winter gnomes for my neighbor (she orders several baskets to gift to her family) but I am going to make them scented and then make gift soaps or lotions in the same scent.
If I am crafting this year, I have to start now if I don't want to end up in the traditional panic mode of all other years.
:p

Are any of you doing handmade stuff for the holidays? I would love to see the projects you are working on!

To be honest, I'm having a real hard time relaxing. My brain is spinning. But it's even more stressful, since I really don't have anything to do. I guess all is a sign that I really REALLY need to wind down.

Sun has been good today, and I have been able to go for a long walk taking lots of photos. Of the lake (Sweden's 2nd largest lake is here), of the lovely streets in the town, of the medieval castle, monestary & abbey. Vadstena is just as beautiful in the fall. Hopefully I will get some great layouts made when I get home.

Had such a great dinner yesterday, I even dreamt last night, that I tried to recreate it. Lol It was a vegan pasta dish: linguine with soy "meat", carrots and onion in a creamy sauce made with chili and coconut cream. Served with tomatoes and... what's it called? Aragula? Something like that.

Now I'm in the hotel room. Enjoying a cup of tea, brownie and a good book. Currently reading Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl. Just started, read about 40 pages, but it sure is promising.

OMG you spy me, as I'm doing exactly this, exactly now, and had lots of fun organizing and labeling my yarn stash! To unravel thrift shops sweaters was the best idea ever! But today I had to make a order for yarn colors I wasn't able to find in the random sweaters hunt.

I'll get back later for regular post, as now is time to go to clean on my cats, and they aren't patient bosses. ;):D

Good afternoon.

Chris @faerywings isn't that cow the sweetest? She walked right up to us, then realized what she was doing and started backing up. LOL There was a bull in the herd and he was giving us the evil eye. I don't think I told you this, but we were actually standing in an old cemetery! That fence was at the back and when we saw the cows, we had to walk back to see them better. It wasn't a REAL old cemetery, there was only 1 monument from WW2, but it was way out in the country, with a fence all around it, so we had to go in. My shoulder feels better today than it has for a long time. I didn't do ANYTHING yesterday - just chilled out so I know that helped a lot. I'm SO happy that your parents *love* Tom!!!

The weather is gorgeous here this am. We had a bad thunderstorm last night and it was 61 this morning. I HAVE to get out for a little while - it's just so beautiful. It's near 70 now.

Eva @tanteva, did you take your laptop? I can't go anywhere w/o mine because I have to scrap at some point every day. The last time I went away for a long weekend (ages ago) I decided not to take mine. I had my iPad, but I had terrible withdrawal and never did that again. I guess maybe everybody doesn't have a laptop, though. I know a lot of people still love their desktop computers.

Well, I've reached my capacity for typing - shoulder's starting to ache. Time to put ice or heat on it. Happy Monday everybody.

Hello girls, like I told above this was one of these lovely days for craft supplies organizing and cats. Then the other part was of course the work.

Chris, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one crazy crafter that today had a pleasure to contemplate with excitements all the materials in her cabinet! I'm afraid that in some moment I'll have more pleasure from collecting them, than actually use it. I bought only things for which already has decided how to use, but I'm so slow and inconsistent, that they are only big pack of materials and bunch works in progress!
I'm so happy to hear that you had such a lovely family meeting!

Which reminds me! I hope that Trudy had nice Thanksgiving day with her family too!

Eva, I hope that this was your well known sarcasm, and actually you are very chill and positive on your vacation! Love the photo you shared yesterday!

Cheryl, I just adore your last layout! It's so cute how fast all pets gets comfortable one each other, and of course Sam is on the couch first!

Rae, @bcgal00 I hope that you had nice Thanksgiving day! Miss you here!

Good Monday evening - the weather here was gorgeous in the afternoon in the 70s. Not much humidity either so Luther went for a walk. It was good to have him out. Sunday he would not go as it was raining. Had plumbing come in for my yearly furnace cleaning and oops it is rusted and I need a new one. Yuck. That is a pretty penny. But while here I had them give me an estimate for some other plumbing that needs done. The NHL season starts tomorrow and my teams first game is Friday. Still reading a lot. But also still taking lots of photos. Had a great lunch with my girlfriend and her newly married daughter. Saw the daughter's new home and it is gorgeous! They have done a lot of work and wow! She is happy so that makes me happy!

@faerywings Chris that is so nice that your family can visit again. Really sweet they like time! Went to the store today yuck but got what I needed so that was good. Good luck with yours. We have not decorated but a lot have and so that is fun to see. Some have moving parts, dragons with moving wings. Pretty cool.

@tanteva Eva your area in Sweden sounds so lovely. I bet you are taking lots of photos. Have fun scrapping. Your dream seems you might have been hungry!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl cool story about the cow. My girlfriend sent me a video of her kids soccer practice and a cow just walked onto the field. Too funny. And it was just one cow. Not sure what the final outcome was. So glad your shoulder felt so good.

@felis felis I love the idea of reusing the yarn from old sweaters. That seems so smart. Have fun organizing.

Trudy and Rae Happy Thanksgiving!

Nancy, that's so funny about the cow at the soccer game. I bet it was a female - I don't think the bulls are that friendly. He was watching us like a hawk. The small her was out more in the middle of the field and there were two calves - one was medium sized and one was young. @faerywings Chris, I forgot to show you this one, too. The light was very bright and intense, so my picture isn't as good as I'd like, but it's sweet with the whole herd.
