GooooOd morning and happy Monday!
How are the O-zies? Are you recovering from iDSD? I can't wait to see what everyone bought and scrapped.

I made the new batch of soap yesterday. It is a goat's milk rebatch base, and I scented it with a blend of rosemary, lemongrass, and lavender essential oils. It is light and fresh. I had a hard time coming up with a name for it. Gary was no help. He said to name it Grilled Cheese. Men! :becky:
Cait finally suggested Faery Garden, so that is what I am going with unless something pops into my head between now and the time I create the labeling.
It has to set up for 24 hours, then I unmold it, cut it and let it cure a bit more. *fingers crossed that it unmolds ok*

I have a lot of little things to do today- never made it to the library, so I will just go to the one in town. Boo. Prep for food shopping tomorrow. Cait's appt with the dietitian. Make falafel for dinner.
Stay off social media until we watch the Walking Dead on DVR tonight.

I was going to post a Today Is...but the day is kind of stomach turning (scrapple, 'nuff said) so I am not going to do *that*

Instead I am going to sign off and hope that you all have a really lovely day!

Sunday:

Nancy- looks like you were the only one to pop in after me. Good luck at the trial today, I hope that it wraps up quickly. Just don't get sequestered! LOL

Chris so glad to hear how much you got done and then today I don't see you feeling too bad that is an awesome sign that you are feeling better!
Yes!! Normally, I would do a lot one day and then need 3 days to recover. This is a HUGE move fwd. Thank you for noticing!!!

hugs to all of you lurkers, I know you are out there. :)

Morning Chris and the rest of the O fam! It is my first day of not having a regular job. I do not miss my commute, but do miss my co-workers/friends. I bought some stuff and plan on scrapping at least one layout today- stay tuned. Off to exercise some of the stress weight that I put on during the sale, move and job transition!!

Ok, I'm sneaking in but just my pinky toe for now ... I'm not where near able to follow all the chatter yet :D

Chris, you make your own soap ? As a business ?
After reading the scent you blended, I just want to get dirty !

Laurie, not having a regular job ? May I ask what you did and do now ? How long was your commute ?

I actually want to go home and sort out my iDSD downloads and to scrap some more.
I did 4 pages this weekend; the most in a long time and it felt really good ! And I even managed to find time to do the chores that really needed to be done. :thumb:

Luckily for me, this Wednesday is a public holiday over here so some much needed free time is coming. :)

You may certainly ask. I am a pediatric physical therapist. My husband is a salesman that spends 3-4 nights per week in a hotel. I have been busy since May 2015 getting my house ready to sell, looking for a house to move to that would enable my husband to sleep at home. We moved in September. The company that I work for also moved to new software for medical records that month. I stayed on working three 10 hour days. I stayed with a co-worker/friend on Mondays and Tuesdays and drove back home on Wednesdays. It was a 1.5 hour drive. I hated packing on Sunday nights. I became two people- one who worked at my job and one who lived with my husband for 4 days. It was not any fun and I put in my resignation a month ago. Today, I miss my co-workers and the families I worked with. I am blessed to have a vacation time payout that will allow me a little time off to truly get settled!

Katja, it's early ... I'm operating on not too much sleep ... and then I read this. Oh, Katherine ... behave!! :banplease:

Morning everyone!! After a fun weekend, I came home to find some not so good news :( My Mum needs surgery ... and I'm half way around the world. Working on arrangements to get me home in the next couple of weeks. Of course, that resulted in too much stress and not enough sleep last night.

But other than that, it's a work day for me today. Wednesday's holiday (Veteran's Day) will be a nice break - hubs planned ahead and took Thursday and Friday, too. Me thinks I need to start on a honey-do list for him ;)

Wow, and I thought I had a tough commute (1+ hr each way) ... I can't even begin to imagine the stress the back and forth caused and living that "double life". Glad you'll have some time now to recharge.

@ Laurie ... oh my, that's does sound like a quite a hassle and so no fun to do.
My husband and I comute together for about 3/4 of the way. The full comute (which is to my job) is between 2,5 hours on very good days (school holidays and no accidents) to 3,5 hours on most days. At least we can do most of the drive together.
Enjoy your new, single (well, not single of course) life with your husband.

@Kat ... All the best for your mum.
And euh ... I can get dirty early in the day too ! :high5:

Good morning, ladies.
Kat...sorry to hear about your mom.

I've got a busy day, some work files to transcribe, laundry, organizing closets and getting Taz out to play for a bit. I'll have to watch him, he's been sneezing for a few days so may need to get him into the vet this week if it doesn't clear up (he's susceptible to kennel cough). I'm working as much as I can this week on finishing up some wedding and portrait editing so I'll be all caught up on client work and then can get back to taking my personal photos.

Morning O-zies... Reading about everyone's commute to work has me thinking how very lucky I am to be retired!! My husband and I have always been very lucky to never have more than a 20 min ride to work. I can't imagine spending that much time driving back and forth five days a week!! We often look at the traffic over in Vancouver and people are still trying to get home after DH has been home for hours. Ugh!!!! Hubby's job here is only 10 minutes away. He is very lucky! Yesterday was spent at a memorial service for a high school friend, it was filled to the brim with people and so many got up to tell stories about him. We laughed and cried and were in awe at how many lives this man touched! He had put aside a lot of money for this day and went out with a bang, huge lunch served with wine and beer he wanted all his friends to enjoy!

Chris - Hope you get everything done that needs doing! Your new soap sounds amazing!! Hope its a big hit and a big seller!!

KatJa - We also have a holiday on Wednesday "Remembrance Day" Scrapping 4 pages in one weekend, that amazing!! I haven't done that in ages!!

Laurie - It will take some time to get used to retirement! But in a while you are going to love it! But it is surprising how quickly the day passes and how you don't seem to be as organized or get as much done as when you worked :becky: I know you will love it!

Kat - Oh I hope your Mother will be ok! How far to you have to go to be by her side? Hope you manage to get through your day without the sleep you need! Better get started on that Honey Do list!!

Ok I am starving and need some more coffee too, hope to get some scrapping done this morning and a quick FaceTime with DD and Mason. Also need to talk to DS and his family, I miss my grands! Hoping to hear some news about their next transfer and keeping my fingers crossed that it will be back to the Island! DS got himself a 350lb Elk this last weekend and now is busy getting it ready for the freezer. Ok off to the kitchen.

Thanks Trudy (and everyone). I'm on the east coast of the US ... and Mum's in Canberra, Australia. Round-trip, it's anywhere from 35-45 hours, door to door. :plane: Two days' travel to get there :( Funny part is coming back, though - leave Sydney, Australia and arrive in Los Angeles before I've even left. :dizzy: Any wonder I get pretty bad jet-lag on the return visit!!

Gotta talk to the big boss tomorrow about time off for it ... work out a plan for working from Oz while I'm there. Surgery is scheduled for early December.
