It is so dark here. It is 7.45 am but the whole house is dark and it is dark and dreary outside. On the good side, it isn't cold ATM so I am going to enjoy that bit while I can.

I think I got stuff done yesterday. Not 100% sure... but I think I did. I know that I cleaned out the fridge and tossed a bunch of soggy fruit and veggies. Gary and I spent so much time looking at foods that are good for Crohn's flares and it broke my brain. :boom: It sounds like trigger foods are highly personal and what might upset one person might not for another and each darn website had different food to avoid.

I crocheted a few more inches of my mom's scarf (that I still haven't decided if I am giving to her or not) and started my gift idea list. My mom is calling me today and we are going to attempt some online shopping together. Usually, she comes here and we sit side by side and I order stuff for her. Today is gonna be a bit more challenging. My mom is one of those people who should probably not have access to a computer. One year, Caitlyn sent her links to clothes that she wanted. Instead of clicking the links and ordering things, my mom printed the email and took it to the store. Of course, the people at the store couldn't do a darn thing with the links which were only loooooong lines of characters.
Wish me luck! (or pour me a drink???:cosmo )

What plans do you all have today? Hope that you have a great one!

Kay! Oh my goodness! I hope that your phone didn't ring last night too. I would be so aggravated.
End of the year paperwork... is that really happening already? eep.
Happy birthday to you! I am sure that your family all sang to you last night on your family Zoom. Let me sing along with them!! **Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuu**

Trudy- coffee and a fireplace. Sounds like a heavenly way to start your day!
Your family is going to love the hats! How do you pronounce toque? Rhyme with soup?
I wish that heather had a close relationship with her grandmas but look at how awesome you are with her boys- bet that makes her much happier!
Some days I get bummed that I will most likely not get to be a grandma but who knows what the future will bring? I really enjoy all of your g-kid stories.

Jean- don't feel bad about the technical issues. Cait's professors are still dealing with that too. She said that in one of her classes on Thursday that the students could see and hear each other, they could hear the professor but the professor could only see but not hear them. And no one knows why it keeps happening that way.
I think that is a very good sign that you are doing a fantastic job if people want to keep coming back for more!
I asked Scott at dinner last night if he texted Leah a pic of his hair and what she thought about it. He said that he shared a pic of when he was half done- and I can't imagine how silly it looked at that point. He had to have cut about 4-5 inches of curls off. He has the best hair in the house. Had. Had the best hair. haha!

Cheryl- did you ever get to listen to the podcast "This Land" about the Supreme Court case recently decided about Cherokee Nation? If you haven't, I know that you would love it. It is on Apple Podcasts.
I will never understand the "thrill" of hunting either. Hope they get down from the tree stands and do your floor instead!
Whew! I am glad that I didn't offend you with my assisted suicide opinion. I know it can be a controversial one. I almost didn't post it either but I am glad that I did. It is a comfort knowing that you aren't alone in how you feel. For me, it is a sign of love and compassion, and dignity. I have a DNR in my Living Will that is pretty strict and my family has not been happy with it. I did write an addendum that during COVID, I would allow being intubated only if it likely that I would recover. Very narrow parameters and even that was a tough choice for me to add.
I wish that there was a way to help your Aunt. It breaks my heart that she is so unhappy too.

Good luck keeping your hands warm, I have worn fingerless gloves in the house as well as hats for much of the winter. LOL

hugs to everyone!!!

Morning, gals. Looks like the call block worked as I didn't get a call late last night!! Fell asleep early - 8:30 PM and woke up at 4:30 AM. That is 8 hours of sleep so won't fuss about waking up so early.

Yes, it was a fun Family chat yesterday but I declined having them sing "Happy Birthday". Got to chat with DD#1 a bit and show her the bouquet she sent. She is in AZ with her DD and family. She signed off to have dinner right before DD#2 & her DH, DSon#1, and DSon#2 popped in to chat. Spent over an hour chatting. Really made for a special day. I had 1 of the Thanksgiving meals that DD#1 had sent to me last week for my birthday dinner. Oh, so yummy. Decided that I will bake a pumpkin pie this week so I can have dessert on Thursday. I may even make a small dish of dressing as DD#1 didn't make any.

The cold front is here... dark gray clouds and the wind is picking up. Colder temps so will be glad to have on the long johns and sweat shirt. Yes, I am another one with cold hands. I wear gloves even in the house when the hands get cold. I had tried fingerless gloves but the fingers get too cold. So I muddle through turning pages of my book with the heavy gloves on. DH used to LOL when I wore them while reading in bed.

Can't believe that Black Friday is this week... and that will kick off the Holiday season. Going to be a fun December with all the challenges and games. Need to put my thinking cap on soon.

Off to get breakfast .... blueberry waffles sounds good. CYL

Morning ladies... it is chilly but I can see some patches of blue sky out there. Although the forecast is calling for more rain on the way. I have lots of shopping to try to get done online and perhaps get back to a couple of stores downtown to find a nice sweater for myself and one for Heather. She is not able to get out to many stores to try on clothing so I always like to send her something for her to wear. She is easy to buy for, my son on the other hand is not and I struggle with what to get him every year. He always says oh Mom I don't need anything. (that is not helpful!!). I was up early this morning and sat with my coffee in front of the fire and watched an episode of the crown. Wish I could get my DH to watch with me, but he has no desire. He had a nice long chat with his parents on the phone last night and they are doing well. Guess one day we should have a long talk about what will be happening for Christmas this year. It doesn't look good for any gatherings as numbers are still bad. Anyway I will enjoy my quiet day today and have already gotten a page done for an upcoming release. It came together very quickly which is so unlike me LOL. Also finished my last page for the calendar and now just the time consuming part of adding the birthdays etc. I don't think I have ever finished my Calendar before Dec 1st !

Chris - I hate that it is so very dark in the mornings too! Good that you got your fridge cleaned out, I really need to do that job also. That is too bad that you are having such conflicting information about what triggers the Crohn's, hope you can get it figured out for your Gary! Good luck with helping your Mom with her online shopping, it is frustrating when you can't physically be there to help her out! Oh and yes toque rhymes with soup LOL. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you will one day be a Grandma, its the best thing in the world to be

Kay - So glad that the phone did not ring late last night for you! I got one of those calls this morning at 7:30 and had to do the block on the crazy number that showed up. :mmph: Sounds like you had a lovely birthday chat with everyone! Nice that you had such a great supper to enjoy also! Pumpkin pie is always a good idea and so is the dressing!! Enjoy!!

Ok I will get in the shower and get this day going. Lots of cyber shopping to do! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning - Had a strange but good weekend. Lots of walks with the Luther. Went along a path that my DH did not want to take but it turned out it was a great path. We even went out last night and it was lovely. Warmer at night than it was in the morning. Then my youngest son called. They had decorated their tree and the kids wanted to know what he did for Christmas as a kid. So he asked if they could all come down to help pick out a live Christmas tree. Turns out our local farmers market/nursery had trees so they came down. It was pretty fun watching them walk through and talk about what they like and did not like. Whether they wanted blue or green, long or short needles. They liked to see the tree wrapped in the netting. One of the cool things was when we parked there was a hawk on the telephone pole. So glad the kids could see. I love for them to see birds. Tried to bake cookies in my air frier and it worked. The kids thought they were delish. It was just the Pillsbury dough cookies but so yummy.

Chris so sorry about Ray. It is hard when our fur babies get old. My oldest son always buzzes his hair. And the thing about hair is it grows back. Glad that Cait and her grandmothers get along so well. My sons missed out on all that with my mother being so far away.

Kay your birthday chats sound awesome! that is so cool. Your dinner sounds yummy but I would make a pecan pie. LOL. Glad that there was no phone call. Congrats on the long sleep.

Rae glad your back is getting better. Still loving the bird photos.

Jean the Browns are doing really well this year. That must make your Sunday viewing more fun. The Giants and Jets are not fun to watch! Glad the meeting went well. You are getting to be a real techie!

Cheryl how fun to have so many kids around making noise. The house will be finished in its own time but it must be so hard to be patient.

Have a good day all

Good morning, Lovely O's. I'm up early for me - our oldest dd is going to be here working all week. The wifi, where they're staying, isn't wonderful and ours is, so she set up her home office here. She's been on conference calls all morning (loud ones. LOL) We gave her the kitchen and the sound is bouncing around all over the place. We'll get used to it.

Chris, I wish they'd get down from those blinds and work on my floors, too! They've been out in the woods ever since they got here! I don't "get it" either. I just heard that they got a small buck today. Roger and the girls just stopped in and wanted to know if I wanted to see a picture of it. NO!!! He took Ava and Braden hunting yesterday and Alyssa got to go today. I'm not liking this at all, but have to get over it.

Thanks for the podcast suggestion. I don't have Apple, but I have Amazon Music, so maybe it's on there. I'd LOVE to hear that! I tried to read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" (it's about The Trail of Tears) and I got so upset that I had to stop reading it.

I have fingerless gloves - I need to get them out. I'm so passionate about how we make our people suffer for so many years. My mom had Alzheimer's and didn't even know who we were. They lose ALL of their dignity too. I love to think of it as Dying With Dignity. We have DNR's also - have had for years.

You have to give your mother that scarf! I promise, she'll love it if you made it. I still have one afghan that I made years ago. It has a popcorn stitch every couple of inches. We still get it out and use it if there are a bunch of us watching TV. That one took me a long time to make. My hubby used to travel for work and I always crocheted while he was gone to stay busy.

Kay, so glad the call blocked worked! SO annoying! Sounds like you had a good family chat and man does pumpkin pie sound good! We're having that Thursday and I can't wait!

Hope everybody has a good day. Hugs to all.

Good afternoon, ladies. It's been a busy day with work and chores. Not much going on around here today. It's quiet. The animals have been napping a lot (they usually sleep more after the wkend) and D and J are both working a bit late.

Been sorting clothes and getting more stuff ready for donation. Haven't brought anything in for quite awhile but I'm still purging so have a few bags of small household things and clothes.

Hope you are all having a good day.
