I am running on fumes and it is only 7 am.
giphy.gif

I am sure that being wide awake since 4 am is a big part of that. Ughhh. I am trying desperately to stay awake later to shift my sleep pattern. By dinner time I am toast.
I had another busy but mostly unproductive day yesterday. I ordered a gift from Scott although what should have been sort of easy turned out to be a head spinner. He did warn me that it might be hard to find-- it is a CD/DVD combo by the Flaming Lips. The title of the CD had a bazillion different versions and it had to be including the DVD- something about channels and other things I have no clue about. You can only get it used. But it is done.
I started to do the prep work for the gnomes but I am running into trouble for the arms. Two of them are going got be holding NY Yankees charms and I made the hands with Sculpy, They are going to be attached to a styrofoam cone with wire. The online directions said to use a part of the sock to cover the wire, but I used black socks. I am not sure how to best cover the wire. I could see if Caitlyn can sew little fabric tubes but she won't be able to do that until who knows when? I can't sew by hand or machine. I have been wracking my brain and can't seem to figure out what to do.
The Muscle Rub is all done just needs to be bottled and labeled.

I have to finish my shopping order this morning and then take J to the vet this afternoon. In between, I need to run out to get some paint and clear coat for the coffin box. Gary and Cait will be out of the house this afternoon so I would like to get that taken care of while they are gone.

So how does all of that sound on another sleepless night?
Fun?? You betcha!

xoxo

@felis thanks for the crochet link!

@BrightEyes Happy (actual) birthday!! Your house must have smelled so delicious!
When I mentioned hearing Momma Chris' voice... I wasn't going to say what she was muttering about herself... ROFLOL...
hahaha!!!!!! Had to be something along the lines of "Definition of insanity..." and "why do I do this to myself...." and "bit off more than you can chew- again"
How is your knee doing today?

@tanteva Happy birthday to John!! Amazing that you have a 24 yo when you are 28. I have a 25 yo and I am only 29! :p
Are you feeling better with the meds yet?

@tjscraps That is *exactly* how I am. Right after Christmas, I am D-O-N-E DONE!

@bcgal00 hope you and the dogs had fun playing in the park. Again-- I love that photo of the owl. just incredible

Kay- :( I am a "wash as you cook" too and I know how hard it is to leave stuff until later. But you want to make sure that your knee doesn't get worse, the dishes can wait. (yes, they can!!) Pumpkin is a very healthy food and it is a great breakfast option. You get your Vit A and your protein from the eggs.
Enjoy your day!

@felis Good to hear that you enjoyed a nice lazy day
haha, feel free to tell me I told you so! I am honestly relieved that we did this, the idea of trying to find time for everyone to go out and pick a tree is too much chaos. It can sit in the box until we are ready.

HUGS!!

Good morning ladies. The wkend fly by. Spent lots of time outdoors and then visiting with Jen and Bella each day. I got out for an early morning photo walk by myself yesterday morning and it was so relaxing. I saw ducks I've never seen before and saw a different heron than I normally see (not a blue heron). Chatted with others out taking photos and a few of the dog family I know from the dog park. Came home to make 2 egg/cheese muffins. I was starving. Then out to the dog park for a few hours in the afternoon before Jen and Darrell got back from car shopping. Jen picked out a car and if the numbers work out, she'll get it otherwise she'll keep looking. There are very slim pickings for cars now.

Today is CT work, desk work, want to make some lentils in the instant pot later and laundry. I'm sure the day will fly by (doesn't it always LOL).

@faerywings You are so crafty, I know you'll figure out what to do for the gnomes.

Good Morning O-zies!! I was absent for the entire weekend as usual! DH and I had a very productive weekend! Got all the yardwork/cleanup done and then enjoyed a nice lunch with FIL and MIL and Sister-In-Law Linda and her new man Marc. Many hands got the job done in record time. We had a very nice visit with everyone afterward and the In-Laws couldn't thank us enough! My Gary had a talk with his Dad as they took the yard waste to the dumping station. FIL told him that he had some strange tingling in his legs after all that work he did in the garden all by himself. Gary told him "Well Dad that's your body telling you that you overdid it AGAIN!!" You are not 20 anymore and Mom needs you to stay healthy for her!!! Hmmmm wonder if it went in one ear and out the other???? Yesterday was spent pickling beets, when we arrived home from the In-Laws there was a large bag filled with veggies on the porch, why you ask? Well it took me a few minutes to realize that it was from a fund raiser that I donated to for our neighbours little girls pre-school. I can't eat beets as they have far too much sugar in them and so I was wondering what to do with a 5 pound bag of beets, 5 pounds of carrots, 2 butternut squash, 1 acorn squash and a 5 pound bag of potatoes?? So I decided to pickle the beets and give some away. DH will eat them, he loves them and so do I but I really should not eat them. The butternut squash is getting made into soup today and the rest well, it will get eaten. Just not sure what to do with the acorn squash, I have never had one before?? Anyone have any good recipes?? So that will be part of my day gone, making Roasted Butternut Squash Soup. I hope to get page 9 done on my calendar and also to get a few things posted here at the O. It will be another full day! Yesterday afternoon Gary and I got our own back yard raked up and looking nice and neat again. We figure we will have to do it once more as the large tree in our neighbours yard still has lots of leaves to lose.

@faerywings - Love the Sloth and that is how I feel most mornings as well! Glad you got Scott's gift all figured out, it must be a bit of a relief to have that done! Good luck with getting in your grocery order today! I know that you will be able to figure out a way to get the gnomes done! You are very talented with things like that! Perhaps it might have to wait until your brain is functioning on a bit more sleep though?

@BrightEyes - Happy Birthday lovely lady! I hope your Turkey Dinner and gathering was wonderful! Yup leave the dishes until you feel up to doing them. You have been very busy, so just take it easy today!

@felis - I am so happy that you will be able to get the books from Chevy Stevens!! She is a good friend of my sisters and is now working on a new novel, wish I had time to catch up with all of her novels!

@tanteva - Happy be-lated birthday to your boy! Love the layout you did of him as a newborn baby! Yes on that day your life got perfect!! I feel the same way about my babies too! Hard to believe that my oldest will be 43 years old this December and my Daughter turns 40 in February!! How can that be? I still feel like I am in my 30's LOL.

@bcgal00 - Sounds like you had a great, but busy weekend! Is Jen looking at getting an electric car?? That is what we are hoping for, for our next vehicle. Yes pickings are slim for cars, isn't it crazy?? Strange to see the different ducks and heron, wonder if they got flooded out of there usual place? Enjoy your day and yup the days just zip by in a blur!

Ok Heather has face timed with me and both of us have lots to keep us occupied today, so it will be another whirlwind kind of day! Have a great Monday everyone!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, gals. Actually slept in this morning so it was a start of a very nice day. The doorbell rang a bit ago... it was a lady delivering a beautiful Birthday bouquet from DD#1 and her hubby. Will get a photo of it soon. I have been being lazy and still in PJs. Going to shower and get dressed before I fix lunch. Yes, it will be a turkey dinner at lunch time. :D Have a family chat at 5PM so best to have the dinner at lunch so I can just relax and enjoy the meal. Will finish the Birthday off with a slice of pumpkin pie and topping after the chat.

So glad I did the cooking yesterday... and after a couple of hours resting, I finished washing the utensils/dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Then I treated myself with a toast to DH's photo with a glass of eggnog. We always had a glass of eggnog in the evening after the holiday dinner. It was great to get up to a clean kitchen this morning. The knee (and the rest of the body) feel pretty good. Got to thinking back and it has been several years since I cooked a turkey dinner without any help. [Of course, DH would help clean up the dishes/kitchen after we ate.] Think it was after we moved back to NM but before any of the family had moved here... must be at least 19+ years!!! After family moved here, we would have family get-togethers and everyone would share by fixing different items and then help with clean-up.

Think I'm ok after my being-without-meds-week. I thought October was terrible - nothing in comparison with November! I will NEVER complain about a month again - it jinxes the next month ...

So - Universe - do you hear me??? I loooove November. It's a great month LOL

I'm behind with everything. I was going to make the bed today, but had to give that up cuz two of our big double bed sheets where in the laundry. We have only 3, but I mean ... usually they are not all dirty at the same time! @faerywings & @mywisecrafts - this is why I hold the presidency and not you. LOL Did the laundry today, so hopefully by Wednesday, I will be able to fix the bed.

Tomorrow I hope I will have a chance to catch up with Oscraps. and maybe even get a layout done.

Hi ladies. Sorry I was MIA yesterday! I went shopping with Adrienne and we made a day of it. Got home just about dinnertime and went up there to eat. We stopped at The Rib Shack on our way home and picked up dinner. Oh, did I mention I was DONE with my Christmas shopping??? Don't mean to rub it in, or anything. I THOUGHT I was done 2 days ago, but got to checking my list and decided I needed a little something else for Braden and both the girls. Just a little "something-something". Alyssa's bd is the 24th so we have that to do before Thanksgiving. We got all the stuff we needed for her SWEET 16 party!

Chuck laughs at me when I say "I'm done" because he knows there's always a last-minute thing I forgot. I REALLY do think I'm done. I need to start wrapping now.

Chris, @faerywings what are you doing up in the middle of the night? Just kidding but 7 AM? Are you DONE yet?

Kay @BrightEyes Happy birthday!! What a lovely surprise to get a beautiful birthday bouquet! Enjoy!

Eva @tanteva glad you're feeling a big better.

I'm pretty worthless today - I'd rather be out shopping. LOL

Hi all - long time no write. I have been absent this month dealing with first my oldest's son's birthday week, which is 4 days first Nov 10 is the Marine Corp Birthday, then Veteran's Day, then a rest day and finally his birthday. He had a great week! But then came the final preparations for the wedding which was Saturday. I was amazed how many little things had to be finalized. I needed to get new shoes. It was getting family from out of town settled ( my sister-in-law and her husband). It was so fun to see them and had a great dinner. Then Sat to get my make-up and hair done, then dressed and be up at the venue on time for pictures. We were so lucky that the day while chilly was sunny so photos got to be outdoors. The ceremony was lovely and filled with lots of kids. The food for the cocktail hour were delish! The dinner was fun and I did my mother/son dance. The dinner was delish. And the DJ awesome. You could tell how happy my son and his new bride are. I am so lucky. It was so nice my friends all came and had a good time and danced. OMgosh the desserts were so good! A chocolate fountain mostly for the kids but lots of adults too! And it was done by 5pm. The Sunday was brunch with the newlyweds, our family and her parents. So fun. Then day was a final lunch with my SIL and her husband. It was pizza of which there is left overs! So now I am settled. I can breathe. Everything was just perfect. So now I am going to be able to be here and start scrapping again.

Happy belated birthday Kay!

Dear Kay, happy birthday and have an awesome year!
ROH01.jpg

Nancy, congrats to your son and new daughter in law! Everything sounds just wonderful! Except that part when your was post was about floods and dangerous and then you disappear for almost a month . I was worried!

Cheryl, same here: I see something that will fit better, or can't find the right thing on good price and my idea for the Christmas gifts still evolve, although I wanted to be ready before December, so to have stress free holidays. Did you find that perfect finish touch?

Eva, don't worry with changing the sheets the whole energy of the month will change! I often do these small 'rituals', you know what they said clean house clean mind!

Trudy, I don't know someone recommended Chevy Stevens to me , but I was able to find only 1 book on my language, so I'm so excited finally to have access to more of them! Love to read for your family time together!

Rae, outdoors photos at autumn must be so lovely! I'm jealous to these girls that have FB and enjoy to your shots!

Chris, why J needs to visit vet? What you can't sew you always can crochet, and in my opinion it will fits better. Just use thin yarn and small size hook. Pff to fix my sleep pattern is my usual new year resolution!

So for me today was one of these days that you start all the projects that will run during the week, but it's not planned or needed any of them to be completely done on the day. That is Monday for, after all, fresh new beginning.

Had to "adult" today. Didn't like it. lol I have a conference from Wed-Fri in Vancouver this week, and hubby and the girls were going to join me on Friday for the weekend as it's my birthday Saturday so figured it would be a fun weekend. DH hasn't been feeling great and his results for his bloodwork are still pending, there's no way he is up to a weekend away and dragging two kids through an airport and everything altogether. I can't get back on Friday so I'm staying til early (6 am flight) and coming home too. Of course my work booked the cheapest tickets possible, so no changes allowed and it cost more than the return trip to go home, but better than spending my birthday by myself in a city I don't know!

Sorry for the ramble, just feeling sorry for myself - I'll get over it!
