The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
We did it!!!!!!!! We pulled off the first New Weis Center Nature Wellness Retreat and I think it was awesome! We had a fantastic group of women who attended, the programs went well, and everyone asked us when we would be having another one.
The weather wasn't as bad as I expected. The wind was brutal during our opening circle and yoga session. But once we got moving through the woods, it didn't seem as cold. We were all laughing so much during the Flow Arts portion (hula hooping as meditation), I don't think anyone noticed how cold it was. The sound healing-- ahhh-may-zing. My only issue with that was that it took me so long to actually relax that I missed out on a lot of the goodness. It's the same thing whenever I get a massage. I fight with myself to relax and by the time I can, it's almost over. pfft. The end of the day was at the campfire, so even though the temps were in the 30s, the fire was very cozy. We had some time to relax and release any intentions to the fire. I didn't think to bring paper, so I spoke my intention to a leaf and put that into the flames.

One of my coworkers got some pictures of us and I know she snapped a few of me hitting myself in the face with the hula-hoop. If I get that one, I promise to share it with you all. LOL!

Today is going to be jam-packed with house chores and all that. The top three things: Clean out my fridge, grocery order for tomorrow, and update Thanksgiving menu.
If I can get that taken care of, I would love the afternoon for scrapping. I think I am going to need more coffee!!
:coffeedrinker:

Hugs to you all!

Good morning. Started the day with Andie wanting to go outside at 4:35. She barked because she wanted to go outside. And when that dog barks you know about it. Well, I did. Brian seemed to sleep right through it. We went back to bed until 5 but never went back to sleep. Then I couldn't get an internet connection and had to go downstairs to re-set the router. Good thing I don't work anymore. I would have been so stressed!

I feel like a lot was accomplished yesterday. I got groceries and I paid some bills and I scrapped a page and spent some time in the gallery. It was a good day. Getting the two oldest kids this morning to make cookies. We will see how this adventure goes. Need to get things together to head to Minneapolis tomorrow. Taking my laptop and I figure that while Sydney is at work, I'll have time to relax and read and scrap. Sounds perfect. We will see how it turns out.

I definitely need to get the bulbs in the ground this afternoon. No doubt about that one. I need to get groceries for the week and make sure that I have everything that I need for the tomorrow's cookie baking with the 5 year old, 4 year old and 3 year old. Cannot wait! And make sure that I have whatever I need to take to Sydney's. And go over the list for what I need to take on Thanksgiving and get those ingredients too.
Wow, if you got even part of that done, you are Superwoman! (You are a Super Woman, no matter what you did, just sayin' :D )
What kind of cookies are you making with the little ones? So cute!
Did you make your final decision on the car?
Just know that there are a whole group of us that would love to be there today, eating up all of that knowledge that you are providing. Good luck! You will be great!!
Thank you, thank you!!
(PS: I am my own worst enemy, so I truly appreciate the support!)

Morning, all. 2 days in a row sleeping in... Yep... I read until after 11PM last night. Guess that is a big clue as to why I am sleeping later. Almost finished the Tom Hanks book. It is written as if it is a non-fiction book with footnotes but also includes thoughts, conversations, comic books and other unusual mixture like social and time events. I got sucked right into it and have a hard time putting it down!!! :floorlaugh:
I dunno, it is sleeping in if you are still getting the same hours of sleep? :giggle4:
I was thinking of seeing if my library had an ebook but the way you are describing it, I wonder if it would have the same feel as a physical one. Sometimes the images don't line up if you change the font sizes.
Hope you got a lot crossed off your to-do list yesterday.
Not much happening here. Will work on week three AJ later today. We will couch church today. Just not moving fast enough to think going to church is a good idea. Off to get more coffee and snuggle on the couch. Have a wonderful day!
That sounds phenomenal. Hope you are feeling better and more energetic every day!

A week from this Thursday is Thanksgiving! Not sure if you meant "this" this Thursday or if you were on the right track! I've been confused all month about the week of Thanksgiving! November is flying by too quickly!
Hehehe, yes-- not this week/Thursday but next week. I work in Sunday to Saturday as my week. Scott always has a tough time with the this/next days and weeks so I have make sure I tell him the date too.
Had a great time with my daughter and family last night. The meal was delicious, the games were fun, and the dessert was good, too! We left around 9.
Sounds very special and fun!
Good luck at the dentist today.

Well now that I am better hubby has stopped doing anything around the house. So I did laundry, vaccumed, mopped floors and of course cooked/clean up.
Men! Harrumph! :rolleyes1:
I remember when I broke my foot, I had to tell myself repeatedly to milk it a little longer because once I took over the housework, it was going to be all on me. I hope that you are pacing yourself and not pushing yourself too hard.
Many good thoughts to the other grandma.

I have 4 recipes. Only one requires the oven but I know that if we don't use the oven, they will feel deprived. We are making 2 ingredient Thanksgiving cookies, pilgrim hat cookies, Thanksgiving cornucopia cookies and Oreo turkeys. Cannot wait. And we have the decision on the car so as long as they don't try to pressure me into buying a whole lot of extra coverages when I get there (and I tell them right up front not to do it, but only a few listen), I will have a new (to me) car tonight.

Today's chores include stripping the bed, rotating the mattress (instructions that came with it said to rotate it after 2 weeks then once a year after that), and re-make it: finish the other loads of laundry; organize the TBR books for the challenges and decide where to put them; and dust/mop floors. Of course, there is no guarantee that I will get it all done!!! Need to get started on them. BBL
It sounds to me like a list for the week. LOL

Sit back down, savor the coffee and dont try to remember what needs done :floorlaugh: Retired and weekend, no to do list needed.
Baking sounds fun thought. What are you guys gonna make?
Good advice. I will tell you that it was a much more leisurely pace while doing things. And only one item requires baking...the other are more assembly projects.

Good Afternoon!
Stopping by for a few minutes before getting to the church deposit and paperwork associated with it.
Had a great time with my daughter and family last night. The meal was delicious, the games were fun, and the dessert was good, too! We left around 9.

I did get started on another monthly review set for July and hope to finish that today.

Tomorrow is a dentist appt for fillings.
Glad that you guys had so much fun with your daughter. From a quick glance at the gallery, it looks like you were pretty busy with scrapping. Boo for the dentist.

Making up for lost time. And not only did you get that done, you found time for a walk. Very impressive!

Morning all. Well.... yesterday turned into to a PJ day... do a lot of "nothing" on my from my list (in my head). When I went to strip the bed, the back yelled at me... so decided that could wait a day... or two... or three. I had just picked up 2 very full baskets of laundry together and carried them from bathroom into the laundry room... I should have known better!! <groan> So housework is "on hold" for a couple of days. :sad2: Guess I will spend either scrapping, resting, and working on book club stuff. Tomorrow is errand running.... trip to library (drop of books and pick-up on-hold books), pay bills, and stop at grocery store (need fresh fruit and veggies).

Yes, I did finish the Tom Hanks book... oh... I didn't want it to end!!! I visualize when I read and it was like not only reading but watching as the movie was made!!! Not sure if the e-book would have all the 'extras'...i.e... the comic books in it, Chris. If you do get it, let me know. @LSlycord ... put the Tom Hanks book on your "must read" list!!!!

BBL

Beautiful snowy good morning to you all!!!!
There is NOTHING like sitting on the couch, wool blanket to snuggle under, hot coffee in hand and watching it snow. I can only see little bits where the outside lights are, but it is so peaceful to watch it drift down. So serene and magical. A quiet house. Dogs all sleeping, adult kids off to work/school and its so quiet and aaahhhhhhhh beautiful morning! Gods beauty is all around, we just need to stop and look. Snow reminds me to stop and look. I love when it snows.

Today is going to be jam-packed with house chores and all that. The top three things: Clean out my fridge, grocery order for tomorrow, and update Thanksgiving menu.

:coffeedrinker:
Gurl! I need WAY more coffee just reading all that. Whew, hope you dont get tired and are able to get it all done.
Started the day with Andie wanting to go outside at 4:35. She barked because she wanted to go outside. And when that dog barks you know about it. Well, I did. Brian seemed to sleep right through it.
You know when they bark at that hour you better run to the door and let them out :giggle4: Otherwise it will be a mess. My silly dog, she's super quiet when she has midnight runs. She just paces back and forth from me to the door. No whine. No bark. No nose nudge. Just that mom feeling of something isn't right and hearing her click click click of her nails on the floor pacing. Men never hear it. Just like they never hear the toddler/baby at night.
I had just picked up 2 very full baskets of laundry together and carried them from bathroom into the laundry room... I should have known better!!
You need a hand cart. laundry is heavy. You need to use wheel it about not lift it. Or get small baskets so you cant over fill them. Hope your back is feeling better today.

Not much happening here (again). My couch and I are coming to terms of "I'm done" but I will attempt to sit more. Need to start moving. The craziest thing ever is youre allowed to start gentle workouts after 5 days. Who the heck does that???? Not me. I cant imagine trying to get out of the house or even stepping on the treadmill at day 5. Day 6 is usually traveling home and that takes it all out of me. So today will be more movement than before but still lots of chill time. Soon I will be buzzing around going crazy wondering when I get to sit. For that reason I am trying to enjoy it while its here. Off to get more coffee. Have a wonderful day.

1) usually the baskets are only half full - they had 2 weeks worth of laundry in them this time
2) I have a 'reacher' that has a metal prong set a 90angle at the end of it... I can hook the prong in an opening near the top of the side of a basket and pull the baskets from 1 room to another. I forgot to take it with me... Yes, I should have used the reacher!!! :shakingsense:

Just spent over an hour on the phone with Sister. Her trip to visit with Dson#2 got postponed a week. Dson#2's father-in-law passed away yesterday so they are leaving to go to the funeral. Sis will go to visit after they get back home.

WOW! Believe it or not, the dentist visit turned out amazingly pain free! No needles for numbing! They used laser! I don't understand it, but it worked! I left the dentist chair un-numb and able to eat right away! Mark.....not so much! His was more than superficial cavities on the surface. Anyway, for going to the dentist, it was a great visit! ;)

It sounds to me like a list for the week. LOL

Got the scrapping done, even if late!

@BrightEyes Get some small laundry baskets then when they are loaded they will not be too heavy for you....Tracy's idea of wheels is a good one! Stay safer.

@AK_Tracy I do agree snowy evenings/days are just beautiful if you can be inside comfy cozy. What I never liked was the clean up then days of dirty snow on the sides of the roads. We used to sit in our dining room with light off-- just candles-- watching snow fall as we had dinners.
Take it easy while you can. You are right once you take over that is the end of the help.

@LSlycord I have to chuckle at the dog stories...I miss my dog but not all that stuff that goes with it.
So exciting to get a new car I hope you can exactly what you want. Have a blast with the kids making cookies.

@faerywings I'm so happy for you that your retreat went so well and that the weather co-operated. I'm with you I cannot relax but kudo's to you because the others were able to so that was your goal. I for one an looking forward to seeing the hula hoop photos.

Today I got my last gel shot---holy Sh-t this one really hurt!!!! I've had the series 4 times in each knee so I was a little surprised. then I went to the grocery store and Walmart so that was not a whole lot of fun. Came back but hubby did carry groceries in then I made lunch now a slow afternoon till we go to the club for dinner and music.
Started a new book this morning The Engineers Wife a novel of the Brooklyn Bridge. Story of the wife who's husband designed and built the Brooklyn Bridge that spans the East River NYC. We have been under it many times in our boat so it should be interesting for me. It is a very grand bridge. I am thinking I should make a scrapbook page of it as we saw it how most people never can.

I want to go put my feet up for a bit now so I hope you all have a great week.

Oh Debby that sounds horrible. I'm so sorry this gel shot hurt. Glad it was the last one. Hope if helps. Sound like they may have hit a nerve, cause that's always fun. Put your feet up and relax until dinner. Then relax at dinner.

The pain came from the Gel going into the joint sack.
