Good morning to youuuuuuuuuuu! How are all of the O's today? I hope that you had a relaxing weekend. I don't think I would say that mine was relaxing but it wasn't anxiety-inducing either. I will take it!

I scrubbed and dusted and polished my bathroom and bedroom. I even got up on the ladder to get the tops of the cabinet and dresser. Cait had the vacuum upstairs so I have to run that today to get all of the dust that had fallen. I might have found the incentive to clean. Scott told me that Leah and Arlene are on their own for Thanksgiving, which is their "big" holiday since they are Jewish and Leah's dad passed away on Christmas Day so. yeah... We had a family discussion about inviting them up and they are in our bubble so there is no reason not too but it feels weird. Other than Leah and the washing machine repair tech, no one has been in the house since March. My parents are dropping my mom's stuffing and sweet potato and apple casserole on Wed and MIL is bringing us her sausage stuffing and some turkey too. I ordered the free Fake Stuffed turkey from Shop Rite. FP is handing out Thanksgiving baskets and while I declined the turkey, they usually include some sides of boxed stuffing, veggies, and cranberry sauce. Food isn't an issue, it is my brain. If our case numbers were where were we over the summer, I don't think it would bother me but all of my instincts are saying to hibernate again ;) My family is feeling the same way and I don't think we made a final group decision on the invite.
But there is more good news about the vaccine!! Now there are two viable vaccines that will hopefully be able to be distributed in early 2021. :whoo:

I crocheted a few more inches of the scarf for my mom. I am still not loving it, but I don't think she will notice the mistakes as much as I do. There has to be a way to conceal them, there has to! I can bank on the idea that my mom's eyes aren't that good and that if she notices mistakes, she loves me enough to not care LOL

I have to finalize my food shopping this morning, I have 95% of what I need so if the order is closed, it isn' the end of the world, but I know that it might be hard to get a spot next week and NO WAY am I going inside the store.

Enjoy your day!!

Oh WOW!!! Trudy, the card is stunning!!!! Absolutely *magical* I am in AWE!! Thank you for sharing that photo.
Looks like we were both in cleaning modes yesterday but you got much more done than I did.
That is so smart to have the calendars printed at the local Staples. I would never have thought to do that. I can't imagine how much money that is going to save you. And time!
Did you have fun Face timing with the fam? How are they doing, all good? My goodness, I miss my family. I know you are too so I hope that it helped cheer you up. Hang in there.

Finally feeling more like myself this morning. Had some homemade Mac and cheese with chopped bits of spicy brat for extra favor for dinner last night. DD#1 had made a Thanksgiving meal for her DH and son on Saturday and sent over a care package for me. GSon dropped it off and rang the doorbell. I froze it and will enjoy it next week. She had made her Mother-in-law's Apple Taffy Salad. Since it won't freeze well, I will be enjoying it with my dinner for the next few days. DD#1 is now in AZ to take care of the girls now that their schools are back to in-home/on-line learning. Their parents both work so DD will be there to help out.

Had a nice on-line visit with DD#2 and her DH yesterday. They made the move to MO this past week and are now in their rental. Nice to be able to see part of their new home. The night before they ended up huddled in a small utility room as there were tornado sirens going off for over an hour ... one hit a town about 10 miles away from them. DSiL#2 spent part of the day moving boxes around in the garage so that they could get to the area beneath the steps that goes from garage into the house. It is surrounded by concrete so is the safest place to be in a tornado warning. Not quite the welcome to MO that they had expected. They had to deal with them in the Chicago area so it is nothing new. They are looking for a house to buy so won't be unpacking everything.

Chris, glad you felt up to doing some cleaning. I always get a feeling of satisfaction when I finish cleaning. Glad you got some goodies from the FP and got your on-line grocery order in. Understand the debate over having others inside your house for the holiday. That is a tough decision for each family must make during the up-coming holiday season.

Trudy... what a delightful card! Love that tree stamp. I am a retired art-rubber stamp demonstrator/teacher so appreciate how you stamped the card. Great idea on having the calendars printed where the kids live.

Cheryl, how neat it is that another of the family is now part of your group. Need to take another look at the photos and see the new lights, etc. So glad the workers are trying to get the house done by Thanksgiving. What a way to celebrate the holiday!

Rae, glad to hear your back is slowly improving. <<< gentle hugs >>>

Vicky, so nice to see that you are learning your way around the CT. Love seeing your LOs.

I need to get busy on a few more challenges now that I am feeling better.

Good Monday morning everyone! It is another grey and rainy morning. I have no where I have to be today, but then who does these days? I got all of my housework done yesterday and only have a few things to fold and put away this morning in the way of laundry. So I am hoping to get some scrapping done today, something other than my calendar pages. I will work on that also though. The highlight of our day yesterday was our Face time with our son and family! The kids are doing great and are very busy with school and swimming. Isaac has swimming three times a week and Sadie twice a week. The parents are not allowed to attend and everything sounds like it is pretty safe so that is great! Jason and Jackie are super busy at work and poor Jason had to work all weekend on a project going on in his work place. Isaac and Sadie are getting to that age where they will talk for a bit with us but then they want to get back to homework or reading and let the adults do all the talking. I miss the days where they would hang out with us for much longer. Mostly I miss the hugs  DAM COVID!!! Heather txt me last night saying that her toaster oven has bit the dust, she has had it for over 10 years and used it everyday. Guess what we will be getting her for Christmas LOL. I might head out later to Winners and see if I can find a nice cosy sweater for the cooler days ahead, but other than that I am staying put. Tomorrow I will get my hair cut and coloured, it could be the last time for a while if the numbers keep climbing. They have already closed quite a few places over on the Mainland. Last night there were lots of sirens at around 9pm and turns out that a local Chicken Farm - "Farmer Bens Eggs" went up in smoke. Poor chickens the whole barn was destroyed! What a horrible thing to happen! What a horrible year!!

Chris - You had a pretty productive day yesterday, it is good to get the cleaning done and I hope that you get the vacuuming done today too! Seems the dust is never ending, where does it all come from??? That is my least favourite thing to do is the dusting!! Thanks for the nice comment on my card! I love all of the Lavinia Stamps and could spend a fortune on them. I really have to resist the urge to buy more!! I have purchased a few other stamps from companies down in the States and have been waiting for over a month to get those ones too. Not sure what the hold up is except perhaps all the weather issues and of course everything COVID! :noidea:

Kay - It is so nice to hear that you are feeling so much better!! Nice that you have your appetite back and get to enjoy all that yummy food! So nice that you have your family close by to bring you meals and to help each other out in times of need. Thanks for the compliment on my card, it means a lot coming from a professional card maker!! What company did you use to demonstrate for? Hope you are keeping safe and warm these days!!

Ok I better get my bed made and get into the shower, then some more coffee and scrapping! Have a great day everyone!

good morning - I have been hibernating with pretty much just my DH and Luther. But with the new surge in cases my son is now back working from home which means my home. Been taking Luther on lots of walks and he is happy. Yesterday was down to Cheesequake. It was gorgeous day as it was warmer and not too many people so we masked and were socially distant. Then got home and had this thunderstorm roll through. Luckily no power outages by us. My son had a nice birthday week. He wants Legos but just not sure which set to add to which collection. So stuff at my home has been weird. First I see mice and tell my DH so we can set traps but he puts the traps in places where I don't see evidence of them so nothing caught. Then OMgosh I see a rat. Of course my DH does not believe me but after working in a lab I know the difference between a rat and a mouse. Well my DH was raking leaves in the backyard and there was a dead rat half buried. We are assuming Luther got it. But it was not eaten or any skin broken so at least we are not worried about Luther getting sick. So NOW he believes me. Then our oven stopped working and he does not want it fixed as it is so old yet refused to go with me to look for a new one. So I thanks to the internet I stumbled upon Oprah's favorite things and one of them is a Yedi air frier oven. So I purchased it as a stop gap measure. OMgosh is it so fun and it works so well. Used it to cook chicken and roast veggies and make cheese tortillas. It takes some time to figure out how to set the correct temp and time but wow it was moist chicken and awesome veggies. It came with a recipe book and I use that as starting points. It comes with all these awesome accessories. Makes cooking fun again. And it is small. Today is sunny and blue skies and will walk later.

Chris I feel you about Thanksgiving plans. I think it will just be me and my DH. But we can either zoom or FaceTime the boys. Glad the FP is so helpful. I wish I had the cleaning gene. I am sure your Mom will not notice the mistakes in the scarf she will be so happy!

Trudy what an amazing card. You really are good a DYI stuff. It seems that cases of Covid are going up everywhere. But at least it seems like vaccines are on the way. You have been busy with swimming and that is so cool.

Rae hope your back is getting better. Love the photos. Your scrap pages on IG are so awesome.

Cheryl your property with your family is really cool. The idea of cabins to rent seems cool. People need to get away. You are very lucky to have family surrounding.

Kay your lockdown is probably what is coming to NJ. One of the priests at our local church has tested positive and so the services have gone to zoom. Several of our schools have had kids test positive so they have gone to zoom. Keep safe.

Waving to all.

Have a great day.

Good morning ladies. Had a good sleep last night (that almost never happens lol). Today I want to bake a banana loaf and figure out what to make with the leftover pork tenderloin for the family. Started watching season 2 of Mandalorian yesterday with D and it's just as good as last season.

Chris - I bet your mom won't really see the mistakes or care, she'll love the scarf. Here's the link again for the rice/beans.

Trudy - your card is just gorgeous.

Kay - funny you mentioned mac and cheese. I was just craving that yesterday and am going to get some GF Annie's organic mac and cheese when I go to the store later. It's the only packaged one I like. I never make it b/c no one else will eat it so its too much trouble for one person.

Nancy - glad you enjoy seeing my pages. I'm so happy to be getting back into scrapping more again. I bet you are like me and enjoy getting out with Luther (as I do with Taz) for fresh air and just getting out of the house. Yuck about the dead rat.

I'ts after 9 so I'd better get to work now. BFN

I was a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator/instructor for about 10 years until my back got so bad I couldn't haul my catalogs/supplies around. By then I had discovered digi-scrapping so switched from paper supplies to digi.

We are back to "seasonal" temps now - in the 50's - 60's - for highs and down to freezing or below at night. Now that we are on Shelter In Place, I won't be going anywhere except for groceries for the next several weeks. I didn't get my haircut and now all the salons are closed - so will go without a cut for who knows how long.

Hi Everyone. So sorry I haven't been around much. My dearest friend is very, very ill. Her care givers are discussing her death with her sister. She has been in a nursing home for a couple years. She's in DE, and I'm in NC, so I haven't been able to visit her. And, with Covid, it wouldn't have mattered if she had been near, I suppose. I would appreciate any good thoughts and prayers for my friend. Her name is Carolyn. I can't stand to see her in pain, and she is, constantly. But, it's hard to let go too. She is younger than myself, age of my youngest brother. She was an APRN, avid kyacker, hiker, etc. She helped me through the death of my husband, then we shared an apartment together until she began getting ill and moved to be closer to her mom and sister. Her mom passed away at 101 a year after Carolyn moved to DE, so it was good she got to spend time with her. My friend was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. She continually got worse and worse, then fell and broke her femur and never recovered. She is closer to me than my own sister, so losing her is like losing more than a friend, like a family member. Sorry to go on and on . . . I'm trying to scrap to occupy my mind but even that is difficult right now . . .

I'm SO sorry, Betty Jo. I have no words...............just SO sorry. What you're doing with scrapping is what I did during all of our covid scares. It helped me keep my mind busy. Hope that you can lose yourself in it. Sending lots of big hugs and love. ::grouphug

Kay, it's good that you got your supply of groceries and necessities in. We did the same thing. I had decided to let my hair grow a couple of years ago when my hairdresser left town. I'm so glad I did now, with all this mess! Hope you can get yours cut before too long. I'm a brave soul - I trim it myself. Stay safe. Hugs

Nancy, I want an air fryer next! They seem to be a great appliance to have! We'll be getting one soon! Yes, I'm so blessed to be able to live on this beautiful big acreage with my family all close. i made a big pot of potato soup today and the kids came over for dinner. The first guest left the cabin today and left rave reviews on airbnb! SO nice to read them!

Kay, it's so great to hear that you're feeling better and that you've been able to eat! That's a good sign! Your pre-Thanksgiving meal sounds delicious and I know you'll enjoy all of it! Sending hugs that you'll continue to feel better so you can eat!

Yes, the house is really coming along now! The toilets were delivered yesterday. They're in the boxes sitting in the living room. LOL

Chris, sounds like you're feeling better. I mean to ask you how your crochet project was coming along. Single and double stitches are my favorite and they go fast. I keep thinking I'll start again in my spare time. I'd have to buy all new hooks - mine got lost in the shuffle a long time ago and I had just about every size they made. You mentioned a way to conceal the mistakes - one thing you might consider doing is putting a "stitch border" around the whole scarf when you're done. I remember doing that and sometimes you can do some little tweaks and pulls that way.
