Happy Monday to all of you! it is another cold one here, but still not as bad as it was on Fri-Sat. I will take it. The sun felt nice yesterday while I was out with the dogs. If my back and hip were not so bad I would have raked a bit but I did not want to push it. One of my smarter choices. I'll take them when I actually make them haha!

I didn't get much of anything done again. I ran a few loads of laundry and then vacuumed downstairs. It is crazy how one additional dog makes more of a mess than the other 2 combined. I tried scrapping a page for the Color Challenge with very little success. I am not good working with bright colors at all. I made a yummy dinner- butternut squash soup and homemade croutons. It was a good day for soup.

I am back to the dentist to get the last of my fillings done. Then I need to work on some F-W's things in the afternoon and finish up my food shopping list/menu so I can do that tomorrow.

Have a fun filled day!

Personals from Sunday:

Nancy- very true, it was much nicer outside in the sun and with no wind than it had been a couple of days before. I would have either been hugging the fire pit or stayed on the sofa instead the entire time, you are brave to be outside at the BBQ at all.
How did they like the chip challenge? Do you know where they got them? It might be a cute Christmas gift idea for Scott.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend of sports too.

Rae- that is great to have the youtube channel to follow to get some ideas for your switch to paleo. Sounds like you are really on your way to a successful switch over. How long do you think that the dizziness will last?
Aren't rats really fun to watch? Even more fun to interact with, such sweet little personalities. I wish I could help her to not be worried about the surgery, but how can you not be?

Trudy- you are *killing* me over here-- wrapping Christmas gifts as well as having a spic and span house. Pfft. *winks*
How was the movie date night?
I understand about not wanting to talk too much about Paris in front of Heather. Last year was hard that BBFATS was in Mexico for a week and BFF had a Disney trip and cruise for 10 days. But I think that you will be so happy with having her and the babies with you that you won't even think too much about Paris.
When Cait was little all she wanted for Christmas one year was a Babbling Boo-- the little girl from Monsters Inc. that "talked." My mom stalked the Disney Stores for weeks and ended up making friends with one of the workers. My mom left her number in case they got more in and she called my mom and said for her to come over immediately since they had just come in. Needless to say, Cait got a Babbling Boo that year :D

Jean- I rarely use my crockpot since no one really eats meat anymore. But I remember when I used to use mine and the house would smell so good all day long. Hope your pot roast was delish!

felis, and everyone else who pops in, :hello:

:cofbath:I drink a cappuccino in one cloudy and dark afternoon and think for many things, just a few minutes before to have to start clean up to my babies. Listen for a first time Taylor Swift's new album, exciting, but I couldn't understand the music from a first time. I have many things to plan and have to worry for some of them, but ... just can't today. I have to be more responsibility to my life, to our life. But will start after the Holidays, I will! Right now gray cat try to jump up on a saplings walnut, it's so comical (and make it so often). I have to catch up him and put it back inside. And see now I'm distracted from everything others...

Chris, I have so much to catch up about our conversation at the weekend. At first point, sorry, about your hard moment with Cait! Till now everything is forget and forgiven, I'm sure! Hope today weather is good for Scott's geology expedition! About the pets, our vet give us Beaphar (they even make me discount when get bigger quantity), except for the youngest or too skinny cat when Frontline still is the only option here, even so more expensive. Ugh, I really hate this part of the parentship! To be honest sometimes I just can't pay all this, so I use lokal brand which is 10 times cheaper, but the percent of allergisk reaktion is very high. The Bio Band Collars are good but can't work if pets aren't already clear, only for prevention after that. Anyway! So bad that your body still tortures you, maybe the weather changes make you more sensitive, hope all will be better soon!

Jean, looks like you had great weekend. I hope you managed to find time for your both genealogy and scrapping ideas!

Trudy, I was google it these toys when you mentioned them. They looks interesting and I hope that you'll find them! This is the superpower of Santa :) , I guess ! Do your grands still believes?!

Rae, today is some holiday if I'm remember correct?! Hope you have fun! It is so nice to see you excited about the new paleo regime.

Nancy, you are had so interesting weekend with your boys! I'm really impressed from this BBQ at cold. We have one electric grill for the winter, and the veggies are still tasty, but not the same like when dad do it on the real BBQ outside.

Have a wonderful Monday, you all!

good morning - well it is rainy and cold. But Luther would not take no for an answer so out we went. But luckily it was not a down pour just more like a steady light rain. I have my rain hat and my rain coat so it was just me giving in because I did not want to go LOL. Actually glad that he makes me get out. Well I watched my Devils play against the Blackhawks. I hope you all like sports because here is the play by play. LOL The Blackhawks scored in the first 30 secs but then we tied it up but then they scored 3 straight goals to lead my team 4-1. I was so tempted to turn off the TV but then with less than 3 min to go in the 1st period the Devils scored to cut it to 4-2 so I stayed with them and they scored 5 straight goals to take a 6-4 lead before Patrick Kane scored with 2 sec left in the 2nd period to make it 6-5. But then in the 3rd Miles Wood came out and scored to give him his first hat trick ever and the Devils won 7-5. Their coach pulled their goalie with around 4 min to go in the 3rd period. When they could not score he seemed to get so frustrated that he put the goalie back in. I am sure they are not happy but me I an so happy. It was so funny I was watching in the kitchen while my son was watching in the TV room and he turned them off and when he heard me yelling he turned it back on and was shocked to see they had tied the score. Last year they would have lost with the score in double digits but this is a new team and OMgosh they are so fun to watch. Even if they do not win they do not quit. My son and DH had Luther out yesterday and they were playing hide and seek where my DH would hide and Luther would seek. Well my boys forgot to look or see the rabbit in the field. And when they let Luther lose he chased the rabbit. But they of course got him back but it did give them a bit of a scare. Got some scrapping done so that is good. Today have to do a bit of shopping but that is all.

Chris glad you had fun with the dogs and let your body tell you not to do too much. Good luck at the dentist. It will be nice to have that all done!

Felis you and your cat adventure sounds so cute! Enjoy the cappuccino bet it is good on a cold day! I have to find time to listen to the new Taylor Swift songs. I love her song Better Man which she gave to Little Big Town group. It won the best song at the CMA awards.

Trudy why is it we parents always feel guilty. I am sure Heather would want to go but I am also sure that she is so happy that you will be going after all you have done for her and your whole family! She will have such a great Christmas being with you all. Those monkey toys are so cute! But I am so glad that my kids don't need the thing but the things they want now are so expensive LOL.

Rae congrats on slowing doing the switch. Hope it goes well!

Jean I love a crock pot. My son was just saying how much he is spending on food and I will not get out the crock pot and over the weekend we can make him food. He needs to learn how to do this anyway. Thanks for the idea. And the slow cooking makes the house smell so good!

Have a great day all!

The pot roast was indeed tasty and we were so pleased. Amazing how much flavor there is with so few ingredients. I'm trying to cut down on salt, so this seemed like a good way. It's gray out today, so I'm thinking indoors sounds good.

Chris, it'll be nice finishing up the teeth. Scrapping in bright colors doesn't sound much like you or me either most of the time. I haven't tackled that one yet. Crazy that W makes so much more mess. And I know F-W stuff is a job, but the results are great and the smells along the way especially so. Hope you keep taking it a bit easy.

Felis, that cappuccino sounds rewarding on a dark afternoon. The cat story sounds like a cute thing. I hadn't thought about the costs of caring for all your animals. Wish it were easier to get all their needs at a better price.

Nancy, amazing hockey game! At least they never gave up and actually came back to win. And that in an away game. I haven't had a chance to check all your LOs yet, but they are looking great. Bet Luther was happier to chase a rabbit than his family members.

Trudy, Rae, and all, keep warm and dry!

Morning my O family, I am late getting in here this morning. I had a marvellous sleep, I think the rain lulled me to sleep and I never woke up until almost 8am. Last nights date night was very nice, the movie was very good and the acting was fabulous! A wonderful murder mystery by Agatha Christie. I have never read the book and did not know the story, but I am sure many of you have knowledge of it. So needless to say DH and I were trying to guess just who committed the murder. :tape: I won't say anything else incase you have never watched or read the original. The rain held off until we got home which was nice as the Malahat can be a horrible drive in the pouring rain! Then when we got home we had a nice glass of wine and watched Outlander, another great episode! Still waiting for the next book to come out, wish she would hurry it up :becky:

Chris - I would love to try to make something with butternut squash, but I am so unsure about the amount of sugar/carbs in it and if I can have it on Keto? I will have to check this out for sure, because I love butternut squash soup!! I would love to be able to have spaghetti squash too yummy!! Glad that you did not push yourself to work too hard, good for you! nice story about the Christmas gift for your daughter, I can only hope that I have such a good outcome with finding what I am looking for!

Feels - You are so very busy with your pets! How wonderful, they are very lucky to have you for sure! Sorry that the medicine that you need for them is so expensive, but it seems to be that way for everyone! Hope you enjoyed Taylor Swifts new album, I like her music, but not enough to pay for it LOL. I will continue to search for the fingerlings, but so far no one has them in stock, so typical of the toy industry! I hope that you get to have a lovely evening and have a wonderful sleep tonight!

Jean - Always so interesting to hear about your genealogy groups! I bet you love doing your talks and helping others! Is the weather good for you where you are, we are supposed to have a very big wind storm today, so my campus grass will most likely have all its campus broken off and blown away  it happens every year.

Nancy - Wow that was quite the game last night for your Devils, you just never know do you? Just when you are ready to give up on them, they surprise the heck out of you! How wonderful!! I bet you had a very happy household last night! You sure love your hockey!! Glad that Luther gets you out for your exercise even on those mornings that the weather is not the best! Yes I suppose we as Mothers will always have to carry around the guilt LOL. I just wish she had more $$ or we had more $$ and could just pay for everyone to come with us, wouldn't that be wonderful!

Ok I am late getting into the shower and then with DH home today, lots to do to keep me busy. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I had a lazy morning, finished my book "The Glass Castle" which was really good. Now I'll be starting The Goddesses. I have coped with the switch from heavy whipped cream in my coffee to Silk coconut creamer and today didn't even think about it. I enjoyed my coffee and didn't even miss the whipped cream. Its been 4 days since switched to paleo, I feel good, no more side effects of switching over and am really enjoying the extra carbs. I don't miss the cheese at all and my sinuses have been clear so if it stays like this, apparently my body does have an issue with dairy. Having never gone without dairy in my life, I never would have thought it. I'm down 1/2 a lb which is nothing really but the important thing is that it tells me I am getting about the amount of calories I need to maintain. I'm eating lots of veggies, some coconut yogurt & jam, regular portions of protein and enjoying a few low carb cookies and dark chocolate. So far so good :) BTW, I had a wild salmon burger last night for dinner (from Costco) and loved it. I made homemade mayo and then used some of that to make a tartar sauce. I'm going to love having this once or twice a week from now on.

Had fun at the Xmas craft fair yesterday. Bought another essential oil bracelet and an EO silver pendant which holds the lava rock, to put the oils on. I had a sterling chain at home to put it on. I love it. Chatted with one of the vendors for quite awhile, she had beautiful photos mounted onto greeting cards. I've been thinking about doing that with some of my photos for next Xmas season so she was very helpful, telling me where to buy the cardstock. She took my number and may contact me about going out to one of the parks together one day. After that, I popped into VV after the craft fair just to see if there might be anything good b/c I knew I had accumulated a 30% discount so didn't need to wait til Tues morning for the seniors discount. Glad I went, I found some more sweaters and a gorgeous lightweight puffy jacket in burgundy. I cannot believe my clothing karma good luck is still holding out!

So today, I've got laundry, household chores, will take Taz for a long walk (in the rain probably but he won't care), want to scrap a page or two and just enjoy my quiet day of no work.

Chris - you wonder how one more dog can make so much more mess, how about one dog making so much mess??? Taz is the messiest dog we ever had LOL. He brings his food (kibble and dry mixed) into the LR so we have to watch our footing sometimes, looking for little balls of food he wants to keep for later. His toys are everywhere and he tracks in more debris/leaves/twigs from outside than any other dog has before.

Felis - enjoy your quiet time with your coffee. I too have a million things to do but I am not going to stress about them today, I am going to enjoy some quiet "me" time and know that everything eventually gets sorted out and taken care of.

Trudy - I'll keep my eyes open for those toys when I go to Bellingham in a few weeks. I'll get some if I find them (how many???). Glad you enjoyed the movie, it's been yrs since I saw the original and can't remember how it ends up, so I'll really enjoy the re-make, not remembering how it ends up.

Nancy - I don't follow sports at all but I love the interest/enthusiasm you have. Even though I complain about going out with Taz in the bad weather, it is also a good thing to get the exercise so I try not to grumble too much, plus it's so much fun to watch our dogs enjoying themselves regardless of the weather, isn't it?

Jean - I should get my crockpot out, haven't used it for awhile. I love roast in the crockpot...yum.

I'm getting off the computer for a bit to get a few chores done, take Taz out and then maybe do a bit of scrapping this afternoon. Hope you all have a great day.
