It is Veterans and Remembrance Day and I thank and honor them. So many wars...:(
How was your weekend?
My dad's birthday breakfast was very nice. Scott and Leah were able to make it home in time. They were dog-sitting for my BFF and weren't sure what time they would get back. My dad loved the rice pudding. I made a double batch so we have some here too.
Gary and I tidied up a some of the house and now Gary aka the King of Clutter doesn't want to put anything back out or on the walls.:clap2: We will need a few things up so it looks like a home but if we can "lighten" it up, I will be thrilled.
My mom came up with a fantastic idea. I am going to paint part of the cabinets facing the LR a darker shade of grey as an accent. I cannot wait to get started on that! I really need to take some pics of my house so you can see what I am talking about.

After they left, I caught up on some laundry and scrapped a page for a release later this week. I started a second LO for a challenge and that should be done today.

Today is going to be getting ready for food shopping and figuring out what things we do want to put back and what things we want to donate/throw out. I also want to spend some time in the gallery- I have been MIA from there for a while.

Hugs!

Trudy-what a sad and scary story about SIL's son. After 10 years of being in a toxic relationship, his head must be very messy and confused. It is good that he has Linda to be there for him. I hope that he is able to find a job and resettle by you all.
That stinks about the painting needing to be redone. I would bet that no one would notice what you didn't like about it other than you, but I know how much it would bother me if I were in your shoes. That is funny about your MIL forced the kids to eat it. (We did that with zucchini and Cait LOL) I make it with half the amount of sugar the recipe calls for and lots and lots of cinnamon. With a bit of whipped cream on top-- mmm!
That is cute that you and Nancy tend to get your hair done at the same time. I am holding out until the beginning of December for a trim.

Nancy- happy birthday to the Corp!
What books are you reading and what one did you put down? I am reading The Vendetta Defense by Lisa Scottoline. It is an early book of her's. It is ok, but it is about old Italian families and I can relate to some of her descriptions of them. I am still struggling finding those page turner kinds of books. Oh my goodness, I cannot imagine how horrible that was what your MIL did to you -- but even more so your kids. You all hear about my family -- and while we are a bunch of kooks-- it is astonishing to me when I hear about things like your situation.
My parents and ILs would crawl on glass to help their g-kid and they are all better for that relationship. SMH... what a loss for her and for your kids. I am so sorry...

Semi-off topic- Caitlyn and I were having a good discussion about the love a parent feels for a child. Her Psych of Love and Sexuality profession had described it as "indescribable." Truth. I told Cait that I understand and respect her decision to not have kids herself but that I feel sad that she won't experience that depth of love herself. That there aren't words for it.
(It is heartbreaking that this is the environment her generation is growing up in- her cohort don't want to bring kids into the world that is unstable- geopolitically and climate-wise although both are 100% entwined. Throw in financial instability and they want no part of it. I get that and it makes me angry and sad)

But on a happy note- the sun is shining and it is a good day to be home and putter about

xoxo

good morning - I never know what to say to Veterans today. Is it happy Veteran's Day? So many lost their lives I am not sure it can be happy but I do like to let those know that I am happy they are here and I remember! My granddad was a bugle boy in WWI and I have his bugle and dog tags, my dad and uncles were both in WWII and of course my son is my Marine. All came back from their wars and for that I am so grateful. My one uncle, my Mom's brother then went on to fight in the Korean War and he was and is an MIA. I think my grandmother was never the same. But on a happy note it is a sunny day! On a different note it is that time of the year to check on Medicare gap and drug policies for next year. I hate this. But I did set up the appointment and I did select two that seem appropriate so that makes me happy. My Devils won yesterday in a hard fought 2-1 game against the Canucks. It was my star Jack Hughes against his brother Quinn Hughes. Both will be stars in the game. Glad my Hughes won!

Chris glad your rice pudding went over so well! And just what you need another painting project! Good for you. Interesting that Gary does not want so much up on the walls now. And yes so many of this next generation are not wanting children it is sad. Thanks for the comments on my MIL. But as for my sons you cant miss something you never had and we have lived so far from all our relatives with us being on the East Coast and them out west it is always just the 4 of us.

Trudy Please give your son my thanks for his service and your MG too. How fun we get our hair done around the same time.It sure does help! I am sure that you and your MG have seen the horrible remarks made by Don Cherry. I know he does not represent most of Canada the same way Trump does not represent most of the US. Amazing how everyone but DC has apologized or put out statements denouncing what he said. Do you think he will be back next Sat on HNIC?

Waving to all!
Have a great day!

Hi lOvelyes, just a quick pop in to let you know I'm feeling fine and I'm in excellent mood, so don't worry about me! Just too busy, as Christmas almost knock on the door, which mean I have finally to realize my goals and promises for this year. Final sprint!

I was hope to talk a little bit today, but it wouldn't be appropriate at day like this!
Glory to the souls of all fall on the battleground! And pray for peace on the world! The military action are so close, actually my neighbours Turkey are part of them now, so it's such a madness the contrast of our carefree life in the circumstances of the fate of others.

Hugs and kisses to all of you!
Hope to be able find some time for scrap soon!
