A happy new week to you! I am trying to do the "fresh start" attitude a bit today. The past few weeks had me so stressed and exhausted and just about everything in life was ignored. I have so much on my to-do list and I am so grateful that I slept. Get this- I went to bed and slept until 1-ish but was able to get back to sleep until 3-ish. Then I was good until just before 5 and was able to stay in bed until 6. Wow!!!! :humble: That has to be the best night I have had in months.

What a beautiful day to be outside yesterday. It was wonderful if a bit odd to be sitting out there talking about Christmas with my parents. We decided to ask them for the patio heater as our big gift and they are all for it and would give it to us early - if they can actually get one. All of the ones in our price range (under $300) are sold out. Home Depot, Lowes, BJs, Walmart, nothing anywhere. But efireplace.com had some if you have $600+ to spend LOL
My dad was happy to get his rice pudding and he understands that I wish we could do more.
Leah was wearing one of the new sweatshirts that she is selling with her artwork and I asked my mom for one for Christmas as well. The fabric was so soft and cozy and it will be exciting to wear a Leah original :)

I am bummed, Arlene invited me to go for a walk today but I have blown everything off this past week and I had already gotten my head around the idea that I was buckling down and taking care of it *now*. I had to text her back to turn her down. :( It would have been a wonderful day for a walk- sunny and near 70* again.
I have a Telemed Appt for my ankle this morning, plus I need to call the vet to get meds and see if they have any advice for Ray. I know that I have bills I have to pay and I am never looking forward to that. Plus food shopping prep and y'all know I much luck I have with *that!!!*

Just maybe I will be able to get most of my stuff taken care of. I think that will help my discombobulated brain quite a bit.

Super quick update on the rats: Cordelia's infection is going away but Livvie's tumor is growing. As soon as she is cleared of the respiratory infection Cait is going to make an appt for another surgery before her age makes it impossible. Cait is feeling very positive about it so that helps. I know she has a busy day ahead with meetings and classes. She wasn't able to get much accomplished over the weekend either so not having to worry about the rats is a big help.

Wishing all of you a happy, peaceful day! xoxo

Kay- woo hoo for your good night's sleep as well! :tea: That is such a bummer about making the apple crisp but being too full to enjoy it. I never thought to freeze it. It freezes well, it doesn't get too soggy? Very cool to know that.
I will have to look at the photos on FB, as much as I dislike the weather/shorter days, the colors are truly beautiful to see.
Good find on the DVDs! I bet I know what you will be doing today :)

Trudy- big sighs of relief! What a great hike for you and DH to go on. Did his knees hold up?
[ETA: I had to post this quickly b/c my mom called]
Back to T!- How is your Gary feeling today, knees still good, especially after hiking then raking? I think most of my tracking will be for nothing if the winds kick up when the cold front comes in tomorrow. But it felt good to be outside. either way. I def. thought of your dad when I was adding the cinnamon on top!

Nancy- this is Luther's favorite weather I bet! Are the positive school cases in your town's district or at DH's university? Either way, it isn't good news. We have had several cases in the school district here but I think they are still going hybrid for people who wanted to have some in-person.
This year is going to be very difficult for Thanksgiving. IMHO- I wouldn't go anywhere but that is just me. My mom and dad are going to my brother's (I think!) and I think that is crazy but that is me...

Rae- I understand exactly what you are going through with Noel. The worst part of it is how *easy* the vet/techs make it look. Every time we had it done at the office, he was fine, barely moved. When we tried, the needle would pop out his skin, he would bolt- it was so hard. And Gary- who is used to putting needles in his skin for insulin- had a hard time doing it as well. I am sure that this is what you are doing but we burrito-ed him, one of us would pet his head, try to feed him treats while facing him, the other would hold the towel around tight him, and Gary would try to get the needle in. But it was difficult. Good luck and I hope that it gets easier. I am really happy to hear that he seems to be feeling good and eating well. Whew!
oh no...I am sorry that you are going into another lockdown. I think it is a matter of time before it happens in New Jersey or at least shutting some additional things down. Poor Jen - having to deal with the people who don't want to wear masks. My state has a mandate that people have to wear masks inside stores but I know that a lot of states don't. Do you have something like that in your province?

Vicky- I bet the bikes were out all over the east coast this past weekend. Perfect riding weather. Every once in a while I really miss that. I loved riding along the Delaware Water Gap or in the mountains up here especially as the leaves turned. I am going to have to check out your LOs!!

Better get going.... xoxo

Happy Monday ladies!! It is another chilly morning, but no frost this morning. Actually they are calling for rain and snow at higher elevations. I am not ready to see snow yet!! DH was thinking that this year might be the year to buy a snowblower. According to the long term weather forecast we are supposed to have much more snow than normal. We had enough last year and if memory serves me correctly I did way too much shovelling!! So of course my Gary has spent many hours already studying which snowblower to get LOL. So yesterday I got all of my house work done, :washing: etc. So today I can play around with my Photoshop and hopefully I will actually get a page posted to the site today. I did get my April Calendar page done, but have not uploaded it yet. I feel badly that I can't promote it on Instagram or my own Facebook page, but the kids might see it and I don't want that to happen. The only other project I have to do today is clean up my craft room and get rid of some dried up paints.

Chris - Hooray for better sleep! Your night last night is my usual nights sleep too. Awake a few times a night and usually the best sleep I have is the hour that my Gary is getting ready for work LOL. So happy that you had a great visit with your parents! I bet your Dad loved his rice pudding!! I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to get the propane heater!! Strange that it is not available anywhere. DH keeps saying that his knees are not bad, but I see that he is limping a bit so I know that they are worse than he is letting on. One day he will have enough of the pain and make that appt. to get them fixed, but he is a grown man and I am not going to bug him about it. MEN!!! Hope you get all of chores done today!

Well DH is asking for some oatmeal this morning so I will sign off now and get that for him. Have a wonderful Monday ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. We are getting some wet snow today. Jen and I have been talking about a snow blower but don't know which to get. Looks like I better get on that before everything gets sold out. I have to look into it b/c I don't know how effective they are for wet snow.

Chris - hope they find an outdoor heater for you, sounds like a great idea. We'll be doing another treatment for Noel tomorrow so will try treats, see if he will take them. D is going to try to be the one to hold him down. it's so hard to do but then we see how well he responds so for now its worth it.

Trudy - if you find out which blowers are recommended, let me know. I'd better figure this out this wk, if we are going to get one or not.

I've got CT work and physio today so better get started at my desk job. Hope you all have a great day.

I'm probably bore you telling this every time, but again:
it is better to ask your vet for a butterfly needle and also to invest in feline restraint bag (be sure it's for vet examination not for grooming). I guess most people don't need this permanently, but you can always resell it when your cat get well.

Later getting in here... had to get dressed and with make-up today. It is driver's license day! Boy, glad I allowed plenty of time before my appointment as it is in a new place and was hard to find!!! Drove around for 15 minutes before I finally spotted it - back off the street 1 block with a weed filled lot in front of it! Got the license and placards renewed. Glad that is done and over with. Weather is cool [48*] with clouds and a spotty showers - just enough to get the car covered with drops. Also stopped at PO to mail property taxes in before due date. That was my 'must do' chores for this week.

Chris, hope they can find a patio heater for you. Guess there is a big call for them at restaurants that have outdoor seating.

Oh, yes, apple crisp servings can be frozen with no problems. I put them in a small plastic storage container, freeze them, then pop them into a microwave bowl/lid for about 2 minutes to heat them up. I had no problem with room last night... had a barbeque sandwich then apple crisp with ice cream for dessert. Yummy!

Thank goodness we usually don't have enough snow that we need a snow blower. And I don't go out if the snow is on the roads. My driveway faces south and the sun usually melts the snow off if we get any sun. Good luck, Trudy and Rae, on finding the model that will work for you.

Need to a bite of lunch and do a load of laundry.

Good afternoon everybody. We just got back from the house. They wanted me to tell them which light went where. It's getting so exciting! They will be hung by tonight, but we won't have electricity until tomorrow. We're going up later on to see how they look. We can't wait! I'd forgotten how cool they all are! I'll post pictures when we go up to see them.

We all went to Tulsa yesterday for an adoption celebration. Two years ago, we met "Esmae" who is the granddaughter of one of Roger's sisters. They have had custody of Esmae ever since. One of their other sons and his wife just legally adopted Esmae and the party was yesterday. SO much joy! Just to let you all know how much we counted our blessings - Esmae had been abused and was very withdrawn when we first met her. She couldn't even look at any of us. She was such a happy, bouncy, beautiful little girl yesterday! Just seeing their joy lit up our hearts.

Then 10 of us went out to dinner. It was a full and fun and blessed day.

Hugs to all of you.
