Good morning/afternoon/evening to everyone. It's Day Three of the US Memorial Day Weekend. The weather has been just *perfect* here. It got to 81* and no humidity. Gorgeous day to be outside and today is supposed to be the same.

It is also my anniversary! 30 years and yes, I am impressed.

How was your weekend so far?
I was thrilled playing around in the dirt yesterday. No toads or snakes (saw a cute little garter snake on the patio the day before) but the squirrels were bonkers! While I weeded at the edge of the yard and woods, they were having a blast running and jumping overhead. J kept watching them extremely intently at the top of the trees and I told her, nope, you won't ever be able to catch them up there. She has a better chance of catching the UPS truck LOL

It was Sam's nephew's 1st birthday yesterday so everyone was at the party most of the day. Poor Gary felt awful. That's the downside of him getting out of the house- he pays for it the next day. But that meant I was able to putter about outside and didn't even have to cook, there were enough leftovers in the house for both of us.

No plans today. Scott is working another 12-hour day. No idea if Cait and Tom have plans. I kept asking Gary yesterday if there was something he wanted special for dinner but he said no. It's not like we usually celebrate anniversaries by going out to dinner so I guess it's fine? *shrugs*

Love and hugs to you all!

@LSlycord It's a darn good thing I love you, Linda, if you are going to be taunting me with pictures of the ocean every day hahaha!!
Did you all see the picture Linda posted on FB? Just wonderful views of the beach.
I can relate to Brian not having a "wait speed."
Wow, I was way off with the countdown until Sydney comes home. I do know that it will go by quickly. 19 days is practically nothing.
when is your next round of tests? Cath test is next? I'm sorry that I can't remember. I hope that everything gets figured out so you can travel and see all of those babies and little ones. And yeah, you want to see them before they get so big, like how Christopher is 12. Still makes my head spin!

@Nonni F 90! Wow, that's really hot this time of year. It was just two weeks ago we were rescuing the bunnies from the freeze.
Hope that you enjoyed your lazy day. Did you read with the cats? To the cats? :D

Speaking of reading, Caitlyn got Sam's nephew The Kissing Hand for his b-day and was reading it to Tom before they left. I had to run over and kiss her hand. That's one of my favorite children's books, got my kids through a lot of separations, even if it was just getting on the bus for kindergarten.
Have you read that one? Love it!!

@bcgal00 Is D home?? I sure hope so! I can't imagine that he would be happy having to stay in the hospital. But if that's what he needs to heal... *fingers crossed and good thoughts to him* :sparkles1:
That is very exciting about the 2024 cruise! So many choices is right. You should put all of them on a piece of paper and pull them out of a hat :D

@Cherylndesigns You were in my dream last night. I just remembered that part but nothing else. I'd bet it had to do with plants or maybe dogs? Possibly both :nod1:
I am going to look on Amazon for some self-tanners. I poked around a little while yesterday but have you ever shopped and had so many tabs open that you threw your hands in the air, gave up, and closed everything down? Of course, you all have *G*
Welp, that was me yesterday. I need someone to tell me: Buy this.
Since Lila is that young, it makes sense to get surgery now while she is young, healthy, and will be able to adapt. Poor girl.
OMG, we got Ray a Thundershirt too! We were making fun of her over it a week or so ago. We had tried everything because she was a wreck with thunder and fireworks. After Harley died, it got much worse. we put the shirt on her and she refused to move. She stood there, rooted to the ground, and shook. Which is exactly the opposite of what we wanted :floorlaugh:
aww, thanks for the sweet words about my dad. I didn't know he'd be marching in the parade (he probably rode in the truck, at least he'd better have been!!). When I was young, I loved seeing him in his uniform.
Were you at the O when his company honored him for 50 years of service?
I have to resize the one I wanted to show you of my dad and Christopher, in matching uniforms
here's just my dad

Enough rambling, Faery! Time to get going....

HAGD! xo

Morning everyone! I have to be quick in here today. I forgot that next week it is Mason's 10th birthday and I still haven't got a card in the mail for him. (BAD GRANDMA!!) :whip4:. I need to find the gift that he wanted also and I am having a hard time finding it on-line :furious:why does everything have to be hard!!!! I guess because it was Jonah's Birthday yesterday, I just presumed I had lots of time to get Mason's birthday gift and card. So I will be spending the majority of the day making a card and getting it in the mail. I will probably have to pay extra to get it there in time. Ugh!! Yesterday DH and I spent the whole day outside in the backyard, there is not one weed left standing, got lots of trimming of the bushes done and the grass that seems to have grown 2 feet all cut. Power washed the back fence and hung the garden decor item that Linda gave us on the fence. It looks so pretty back there now. We also got the Rhodo out of the pot,(poor thing was so root bound). It is now in its new place along the back fence. Hopefully we loosened up the roots enough and it will do well there. My DH now needs to make an appt to see the Dr. his hernia which he has had for quite awhile is getting really bad and he needs to deal with it! Dam man did not tell me he even had one until about three months after he was told by the Dr. :killer:MEN!!!! Ok I promised myself that I would be quick in here this morning, so I better get going!! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and I am sorry for no personals today. I will try to catch up with everyone tomorrow! :bye2:

Happy Anniversary! 30 years is almost unheard of for your age group in this day and age, so a big CONGRATULATIONS to you and DH for staying with the commitment you made!
We've had rain all weekend just as was forecast and cool temps!

Good morning!
My sister is here and we've been playing Rummikub practically nonstop yesterday and today. In between eating leftovers from the weekend!
I did 2 loads of dishes last night and finished up the last load this morning. I also washed a load of towels last night.
Mark slept in the cabin again last night to the sound of rain on the metal roof while Kim and I played Rummikub until 11 before she crashed. I turned on my audiobook and got busy cleaning up. I went to bed around 1 after putting the towels in the dryer, where they remain for the time being. The last load of dishes will stay in the washer today as we are going to pick up Ilene and take her to Ruby Tuesday with us for supper. Then we will come back here to play qwirkle before we take her home.
Mark is back in his office watching a movie and playing a video game.
Our day is relaxing as we remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Hope yours is, too!

Good morning all! Started the morning with sunrise at the beach and it was truly magnificent. Brian got up and went with me...Shaun slept in. LOL I might have slept in at his age too. For the first time, the phrase "morning has broken" meant something to me. The sky looked broken along the horizon right before the sun exploded. 100% amazing. I only took photos with my iphone but it was so beautiful. And the waves were loud. Someone was out paddle boarding. It really was quite a sight!

Someday @faerywings, you and I are going to enjoy some beach time together. I don't know when or where, but someday we will! Congratulations on 30 years!!! Sorry that Gary isn't feeling well.

Thursday is just the CT. If they are pleased with those results, then we don't need to do anything else for awhile. If not, then they will do the heart cath. One day at a time...

@taxed4ever you have me laughing about not realizing how fast Mason's birthday was coming. I've had that happen recently with several things. We are needing to do some yard work today as well. I'm trying to make some plans...decisions, decisions.

@vickyday what a fun time you and your sister must have had! And Mark being able to sleep under a tin roof in the cabin in the woods with the rain. Sounds perfect.

Alright all...boxes to be unpacked. Countdown to Sydney...18 more sleeps!!!

Good afternoon my lovelies.

I hope everybody had a good Monday. I've been up at Adrienne's pool all day and probably got overcooked, but we had a great time. Braden invited about 20 friends and those kids had an absolute blast. They even cooked uf hot dogs and hamburgers. I finally walked home, but I can hear them up there - they're blasting the music now that the "old people" are gond. We kept telling them to turn it down so we could talk. The "old people" being me, Adrienne, Roger and our adopted dd Aly. Hahaha The kids have it all to themselves now, so it's cranked up.

Chris and Gary "Happy Anniversary" 30 years of wedded bliss or something like that. j/k I'm sure it's been mostly blHope Gary is feeling better after the birthday party. Isn't it great to have garden therapy??? I need to go out and water my ferns but I'll do that later. I LOVE that layout of your dad so much and left you a comment in the gallery. No, I was not here then, but my grandfather was also a fireman and he retired from service, so I've been hanging around firehouses for many years of my childhood. I have fond memories of that - they had a fireman's pole that I used to get to slide down and I loved playing on the fire trucks when they were in the garage.

Okay, I asked Adrienne what she used on her face - this is what she uses and it looks like it's for your whole body. I got the Jergen's but I think I might switch to this one once I get a little base. BTW, I'm still liking the Jergen's. You remember what it was specifically, right??? Here's what she likes:

resuzed.jpg

If you need me to post the Jergens again, let me know. I just looked on Amazon and they also make a Loreal Sublime Bronze in drops that you mix with your moisturizer, and you can mix it with your makeup, which I think I might try. Here's the one I think I'll try. I'm honestly not trying to confuse you.
web.jpg
The thing I like about this last one is that I can mix it with my moisturizer. My face/skin is very dry.

That's so funny about your experience with the thunder coat. It never worked for us either and now that I think about it, Macy just stayed rooted to the spot, too. We finally gave up and just tried to love her through it. We always hated the fireworks too. Poor dogs that are sensitive to that. Think about what the poor Vets with PTSD go through.

Chris @faerywings part 2 - I posted too many images and when I tried to edit, the board got funky. That's so bizarre that you dreamed about me last night and you can't remember what it was about. You haven't told us about your crazy dreams for awhile. I'm going to assume that it was all good and we were tiptoeing through the tulips.

Linda @LSlycord that picture is gorgeous, but see, I'd never get up early enough to see the sun RISE. Ergo, that's why we preferred the west coast of Florida. We got the gorgeous sun SETS. One time, Steph had to be on the east coast very early in the morning for a medical procedure and I told everybody that I could do it just to see a sunrise. Well, wouldn't you know it - it was the lousiest sunrise ever - it was so cloudy, and I didn't even get to see a decent sunrise.

Trudy @taxed4ever my darling - you are THE BEST Grandma ever - don't forget that. I don't know why things have to be so hard to find. You don't have Amazon in Canada, do you? If I didn't have that, I'd be THE worst at everything. DO you have Amazon??? Now that I say that, I'm not really sure. I can order something to go to Florida and it's there in two days, sometimes sooner. It's a life saver. I LOVE buying local but sometimes I just can't.

Vicky @vickyday sounds like you're having fun with your sister and you do love your games. I need to look into some of the games you talk about. I'll have to admit that I haven't heard of some of them.

I'm going to get off of here now. Hugs to everybody and XOXO.

Oh, MY! I have to tell you that this picture and thinking of the song, "Morning Has Broken" brought tears to my eyes!!! Our God is the Master painter and this picture tells all! I am awe struck! What a wonderful way to start your day! Our God is an AWESOME God! Thank you, Linda, for making my day!
Where did you say your move took you? Obviously to the east coast. I was telling my sister about your move when I showed her this awesome photo!

Do you know how to play Rummikub? There is an app. I have it on my Samsung tablet. My sister has it on her phone. If you know how to play, you could get the app and you and I (the beyond midnighters) ;) could play! Kim and I were up until 1 playing last night!

I haven't, but sure will look it up. My Son-in-law plays Words With Friends a lot, but I haven't even tried that. Whenever I heard about that game, I think of the time Alex Baldwin was nearly thrown off an airplane because he wouldn't turn his phone off. He was playing Words With Friends. Haha
