Good mornings and a happy Monday to you all! Today is my anniversary - 24 years- and I love that man more every day. Not that we don't drive each other bonkers (often!) but I cannot imagine my life without him. I truly would do it all over again, in sickness and in poor health. Bwuahahah!! :pound:

We don't have anything planned unless you count the falafel I am making for dinner and the "cake" Caitlyn made for us yesterday. She made a layer cake with our favorite colors and unfortunately, they fell apart when she tried to remove them from the pans. So we have crumbled up cake and vanilla pudding filling on the side. She was really bummed but it is the thought that counts- and the cake tasted fine.

Breakfast with my parents was nice, but dang, one bagel made me so full, it was my breakfast and lunch. I finished weeding the area outside where we have a rickety table and chairs set. The kids use it when they have a fire going.

Today I am going to lay low. It is cold and rainy. Our town's parade was canceled too. Scott is working today, but who knows how busy they will be. There is always something to be done even if there aren't many customers.

What good plans do all of you have for the day?

Nancy- did your son have a lot of people at the BBQ? The weather was a bit warmer than Saturday here, so I hope that you had a beautiful day too. Too funny about DS eating a lot of the banana muffins. My kids would have done that too.
You are now going to make me jealous of the visuals of your dinners. And hungry. :D
Do the Cup games start tonight?

Rae- hope you are feeling better today. It isn't any wonder that you go so sick this time around, you have been under so much stress with Darrell and working so hard. It is bound to catch up to you. Good for you for being a couch potato!

Hugs to all!

good morning - it is rainy and our town parade is cancelled. I think this is the first one we will not have gone to since I well I think we have always gone. I love watching all the kids march and the bands - well I will miss going. The BBQ was a great success. It was filled with my son's friends and co-workers and of course my DIL's family. I have found that most times it is the woman and her friends that form the groups but in my son's case it is the guys that have this close bond. In two cases the couples were high school sweethearts. It does my heart so much good to see these kids who are now in their 30s doing good and now raising their kids. One of the fun moments was watching my DIL (this was also her birthday party) break open a piñata. My son did an adult version by filling it with mini liquor bottles. And there was some candy for the kids. You should have seen all the adults when they saw the bottles. They were almost as crazy as the kids. Made me laugh. And the food was delicious. It was just fun to see them all together. Zach's best friend came up from DC with his wife and daughter. It was really special to see. Do I sound like a proud mom. LOL My younger son came too and then he went to his friends party. A good day. Today is very low key as I said rain. It may clear by the end of the day so I should get a walk in then. Tonight finally the Cup Final begins.

Chris Happy Anniversary! how cute that Cait made the cake - nothing the matter with crumbles - it is the taste that matters. Enjoy just resting!

Rae that infection is the pits. And my DH had the same problems - he kept getting infections and they finally traced it to his root canal and cap not being correctly fit. He got it fixed and he has not had a sinus infection since. You really should not get sick from teeth cleaning! I am glad that you are feeling better.

Trudy hope you had a great Sunday!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... It was warm and sunny here yesterday, :sorry: Chris and Nancy! The temps got up to 32C thats 90 F not sure if we broke any records, but we spent the entire day outside and got a lot of little jobs done that we have been putting off for a long time. Got woken up at 4:30am by some high school kids giggling and slamming car doors. The daughter of the neighbours across the street from us is graduating, and there has been lots of celebration going on there. Nice to hear the kids having fun, but at that time in the morning not so much :becky: Anyway I was totally unplugged yesterday and now I have lots to catch up on.

Chris - Happy Anniversary to you and your Gary!! May you have many, many more happy years together!!

Darn your weather has been so awful lately, I hope that the sun comes out and drys everything up very soon! So sweet of Cait to make a cake for you and there is nothing wrong with crumbly cake, you can always use it in a trifle!! Yummy!
Scott might be a very busy guy, lots of people like to shop when its raining! I hope that you and your sweetheart enjoy the day!

Nancy - Your parade was cancelled too? Ugh on the wet weather, not fair that you can't get out to see the kids marching and listen to the bands playing! Hope you and Luther get some kind of a walk in later today!

. How nice that your son and his friends have remained so close to each other, it sounds like the BBQ was a huge hit! You must be so proud of both of your boys!!

Rae - Oh my how awful that you are so sick from your cleaning!! Hope you are feeling much better today! Perhaps if you get that bridge or whatever work you have had done to your teeth looked at and corrected it might spell the end to your sinus problems and high cholesterol ! Take of you!!

Hoping to get a FaceTime call from DD today, they had a busy weekend with her man having his 30th birthday party, a surprise party so my daughter was doing lots of extra work to keep it a surprise for him! She is getting anxious for this pregnancy to done with, but baby will come when it is ready.

She is still having problems with her iPad and iPod not getting messages or sending them, seems she can't catch a break with technology! Anyway time to get a coffee and then a few chores to do later on today. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning ladies. I feel slightly better today but I think it's going to be a few more days before these antibiotics do the job. I can't believe I basically slept the last 4 days away. Taz must sense that I am sick b/c he's spent most of his time with me, curled up on the bed or couch as I sleep. My face doesn't feel as painful today and my throat is somewhat better, so that is good. I'm on the mend. I was in so much agony for those 4 days I thought I would go crazy. So glad it's on the mend now. I made myself get out yesterday morning for half an hour, taking Taz across the street to the river for a swim. He swam and played with a few other dogs, racing in glee through the water and running along the shore. I'm so thankful for living across the street from this spot. Other people drive here from blocks/miles away and they are so envious that I live across the street from it.

Today I'm working so hope that coffee and Advil keep me going but I think I'll make it thru the day, maybe just stop at lunchtime for a little nap to refresh my energy. D is feeling better each day. He is out now, taking his truck in to have the air conditioner looked at (an ongoing problem). I think he is getting bored now that he is feeling better and just wants to find some things to do. He is hoping his buddy can come over this wk so they can finish installing the new sirrius radio/GPS in my car. I haven't heard from the computer place about my computer so will call them today and it should be ready (he had said Thurs) so not sure what the hold up has been. Fingers crossed it is all ready and no problems with it.

Chris - how sweet that Cait made the cake (even though it fell apart, what matters is how it tasted). Happy anniversary to you and Gary.

Nancy - sounds like a wonderful BBQ and I had to smile about the story of the pinata. How fun!

Sharon - BBQ food is the best, isn't it?

Trudy - hope you get some facetime with your daughter today. Enjoy the sunshine!

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day, everyone!
