Oscraps

Daily Ooo's Monday May 28, 2012 Memorial Day in the States

lOve the O!
Morning all- so I was planning on working from home this weekend-which ended up being today, and - yup- my laptop will not connect to the network- which it did seamlessly all last week- arghhhhhhhh. So off to work I go. Yesterday I scrapped and made the tablecloth for the outside patio table so the wind wouldn't blow it, by making it elastic all the way around. I took apart one cushion, and plan on sewing new covers. Not today though. Oldest son will be heading back to DC, youngest is getting ready for finals and real life. It is hot and humid again. Feels like summer. What are you doing today?

Morning all... I am off to work today also Laurie. No holiday here for us in :canada: Spent all day outside yesterday laying down new mulch in the front and backyard. By the time supper time came around we were beat and we just collapsed on the couch to watch a movie. I was ready for bed within the first half hour of the movie. Feeling a bit achy today, but the yards look great!! Supposed to get rain for the next few days, but we could use a good rain, it dries out so fast here!

Laurie - I sure hope your computer acts better soon!! Nice that you got some scrapping and sewing done! I hardly had a chance to even turn mine on. But tomorrow is my day off so I plan on being here most of the day!

Hope everyone who pops in here has a great day!

Trudy, you did a Mulch-a-Thon! tiring, aren't they? but everything looks so GOOD when you're finished. i'm so glad we've got that over with.

Laurie, lucky you with a nice visit with your guys! and i so admire people who have anything to do with a sewing machine. i used to be a bit enthusiastic about making things many years ago, but not anymore.

i've been out in the yard since about 7a.m., on my knees, digging out grape hyasinth bulbs from my groundcover. talk about SLOW work!! my dirt is totally clay, so there's me and a trowel, chopping at the dirt and picking out the millions of tiny annoying bulbs that have proliferated. i didn't even PLANT the stuff. it came in years ago with a load of top soil, and i've been fighting them ever since. they're worse than weeds. i did discover this morning that i can literally just roll back my ground cover, mess with the dirt and bulbs underneath, then roll it back over the dirt i just worked. beats digging everything up and replanting.

not sure what's on for the rest of the day. it's going to be 92, so i'm pretty sure whatever i do is going to be inside where the air conditioning is....

whatever you're doing today, enjoy!

always chatty at the O!!
Hey ladies!!

I just got home from Ohio a couple of hours ago. My FIL had open heart surgery on Wednesday so we went up for that. It feels like we have been gone forever. I came home to a couple of giant zucchinis though which was fun. They are a little big for cooking so I think we'll have zucchini bread. Yummy!

While we were in Ohio we also got an espresso machine and a coffee pot. One step closer to my stand. As soon as I have a logo I am going to get a FB page started for it so everyone can check out my progress there.

Today on the way home we ran out of gas in VA. Our gas gauge is a little wonky. When it gets low, to say 1/8 tank it goes back up. So it got way down and my husband didn't mention it was low so when I started driving I thought we had a half tank of gas. We ran out as we were coming up over a hill and kept momentum until we got right over top of the hill. So, I was able to coast all the way to the gas station. I stopped about 10 feet from the pump simply because there was no pump opening to pull into. So DH and DS pushed the car into place. I am very happy it was a fun story and not a stressful story.

I have to unload the car...UGH!!!!!!! I think I can come up with some more important things first. :)

Love that you were able to get to the pumps Clara- did you dare take pics to scrap later?

I went in and did 5 hours work since my laptop would not connect at home. I wanted to do more, but I got brain fried, so I am home enjoying time with just me, my husband and wine!!

Hi All - I'm new around here and thought I would just jump on in.

Busy weekend for us, visiting family, swimming, BBQ's and pictures. <3 My husband is military, so this weekend is special for us. :)

Clara, are you opening a coffee stand?
