Good morning and happy last week of May!
Did everyone have an exciting weekend? Are you still in weekend mode for the holiday? It is pouring buckets of rain ATM and my town's Memorial Day parade was canceled. At least Sat/Sun were sunny. Rather, mostly sunny yesterday. we had a few sunshowers. My parents came up to visit for an hour and I went out to close the car windows because it was getting dark. I was too late, the rain already passed by. Only a small part of the driver's seat was damp. I was so glad that they came up. My dad is very depressed and anxious about his surgery tomorrow. And my mom--hmmmm-- isn't really helping, shall I say... She is trying in her own way but often makes it worse. It's where I get that trait from. :/
My dad has been through a *lot* in the past 6 months and tomorrow's surgery seems to be bothering him the most. Understandably. (NB: He had prostate cancer and radiation in 2015. That increased his risk for bladder cancer and he was diagnosed with it last October. The Dr did two biopsies since then to remove it but it came back so he is getting chemo inserted tomorrow.)
He hasn't wanted to leave the house much since he had the shoulder replacement a few weeks ago so I told them to take a ride here to get him out. He isn't sleeping at all and fell asleep on the sofa most of the time he was here. But Cait got some jabs in which made him laugh and he loved the video of Scott and the little boy on the hike with the toad.

Cait and Tom cooked dinner for us. That was a lot of fun- they have a collection of vegan cookbooks based on horror movies so they made Freddy Burgers and we watched the OG Nightmare on Elm Street. A Freddy Burger is a vegan burger topped with a "cheese" sauce, sweet onion jam, roasted red peppers, and BBQ sauce. It was layered to look like Freddy's face. :rotfl: So yummy too. Verrrrry messy but yummy.

I was supposed to be going to Sam and Scott's this morning to make the party favors. Sam couldn't get off work so I'm heading down late afternoon. I guess I'll work on the house and laundry today. I'm also forcing myself to restart yoga again. It's been weeks and I notice such a difference in my posture and flexibility.

I hope that you have a fantastic day and that the sun is shining by you!

@bitzee I'm one of those Extroverted Introverts. I'm pretty good around people but it can take a lot out of me. I think that is why I love being around little kids, they don't judge so I don't put much pressure on myself like I do when I am with adults. I just have fun :D

@bcgal00 That's so cool that you got passes to the zoo! My eyes and brain perked up the second you mentioned the outdoor EC Ed course your friend is taking. That is super cool! I bet she is going to love it!
I also bet that everyone had a fab time at the doggie playdate/card game. Dogs, wine, friends-- what is not to love? ♥
Enjoy the butterfly gardens with Jen today

@BrightEyes Don't make me scold you! :spanking: I see that you took breaks while in the garage but that was a ton of work for anyone.
I hope that you were able to rest much of yesterday and that you let DD#3 do all of the lifting of the boxes. *gentle hugs*

@AK_Tracy I wish I had saved the post that I ran past on my FB feed- it was something about Walmart needing a 2nd floor/observation deck. I thought of you too in Costco LOL
Wear a baseball cap anyway! I look silly in them too because my head is small. They are usually huge on me and fall past my eyes. I'll post a pic too but you won't see how tight I have to pull the tab in the back to make it sort of fit.:D

@vickyday I appreciate the good thoughts for my septic but you and I both know there ain't no such thing as a cheap fix for a septic. *laugh-cries at that*
Hope you are feeling all better today!
look at the curls on you!

I'm going to see if I have any pics to share as well :)

Those curls are precious - both of you! This, of course comes from a straight-hair girl, I'd love to have curls. I know, whatever you have you wish for the opposite, but those curls are beautiful. @faerywings

My friend who works at the Ocean Grove beach said by 8am yesterday the beach was packed!
We had two nice days at the Town pool  but today, rainy....
:sad2:

So sorry your dad is having such a hard time!

Quick in and out.
My tummy is still a bit off, but some better, thankfully! I was actually able to eat a bit yesterday!
Cloudy here today. We had some rain yesterday. Not just rain, actually! It poured as a thunderstorm passed through. Poor Asher was shaking like a leaf and wanted up in the chair by me instead of being in Mark's chair by himself!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Morning everyone, I am sitting here at my new computer and love it so much!! The transition of moving all my old things to my new computer went very well! My sweet hubby decided that I need a new second monitor so we went to Best Buy and picked up a great 27inch LG smart monitor that was on for a good sale price. :lovey3::yesss: he spoils me!! So for now my old iMac is in my craft room and I will use Photoshop on it until I transition over to a newer version with a subscription. I am sorry I have not been around, but this last week of May is going to be crazy busy! SIL Linda and I are heading up to the Lake Property to get going on packing the kitchen and whatever has not been done yet. We are not sure just how much is left to do as we have not been there for awhile. Wednesday is supposed to be the last day that the In-Laws will be staying in the house, then they will go to Linda's until the moving truck arrives at the new place on Friday, if things go well with us packing, then they might be staying with her starting tomorrow instead, we will see. Yesterday was spent celebrating my brother and SIL's 50th wedding anniversary, we had a great time with them and another couple who are good friends with them, delicious supper and great conversation, as we sat looking at their beautiful view of the river flowing past their place. Anyway I will have to be quick in here this morning as I need to pack myself a lunch and pick up SIL Linda soon. I am getting pretty tired of the drive to and from the In-Laws as it is always a bit stressful with the elk popping out of the bush along the way, now it is rainy on top of that so it will be even harder to see them. I hope that you all have a lovely day and Happy Memorial Day to our USA friends!!

Oh my goodness that sounds funny!!!! I can't imagine a cookbook on horror movies. The Freddy burger sounds so yummy!!! Please tell me someone put some butterknives between their fingers and then picked up their burger!!! Like Freddy's hand. Oh that had to be fun. And yes an observation deck at Walmart or Costco would be a hoot.

YEAH! So happy to hear you are loving the new Mac!!! And the extra monitor. That's so sweet of hubs to buy you.

Its raining here. Not much planned. Pork ribs are slow cooking in the oven. Will be grill smoked later. Hubs is the master not me. LOL I dont have anything to do but eat. Its been such a cool spring so far we dont even have the lawn furniture out. Its getting depressing. I fear we are in for a wet summer with lots of rain. I love hearing the birds sing but could someone please tell them that singing before 7 am. is rude and not a nice thing. :giggle4:

Morning, all. I am sitting here playing on the computer while listening to Anne Murphy's cassette tapes! I love that I have duplicates - cassettes in the office and CDs in the family room - so no moving them back and forth. And yes, I have a cassette player in the family room, too. You should have heard DD#3 squeal with delight when she saw all the cassettes I was giving her... along with a radio - cassette player with speakers!!! It is going into her office space. She was amazed at how the garage looked now. She though she was going to have to help me clean it.... :rotfl:dance3:cool: I told her she wasn't the only one who could clean a garage!!!dance4dance4dance4 She inspired me.

@BrightEyes Don't make me scold you! :spanking: I see that you took breaks while in the garage but that was a ton of work for anyone.

Yes, Momma Chris... I let Chari do the lifting and loading things into her car. We still have a few things to take up to her place as her car was full. She will be back to pick the rest of it sometime this week. I plan on resting and recovering until Thursday. The carpet guys will be here then. Only have a few lightweight things to move out of the family room along with the table lamps. Just have table lamps to move in the bedroom. Next week I will going up to Chari's house to help her tag things for the sale. Looks like it will be on Fri/Sat/Sun at the end of that week.

I need to do a bit of scrapping today and tomorrow and get caught up on my CT duties. And in between doing that, I will be relaxing on the chair massager and reading. And, yes, I have had added a few books to the donate pile. :D:cool::floorlaugh:
