Good morning and happy last week of May!
Did everyone have an exciting weekend? Are you still in weekend mode for the holiday? It is pouring buckets of rain ATM and my town's Memorial Day parade was canceled. At least Sat/Sun were sunny. Rather, mostly sunny yesterday. we had a few sunshowers. My parents came up to visit for an hour and I went out to close the car windows because it was getting dark. I was too late, the rain already passed by. Only a small part of the driver's seat was damp. I was so glad that they came up. My dad is very depressed and anxious about his surgery tomorrow. And my mom--hmmmm-- isn't really helping, shall I say... She is trying in her own way but often makes it worse. It's where I get that trait from. :/
My dad has been through a *lot* in the past 6 months and tomorrow's surgery seems to be bothering him the most. Understandably. (NB: He had prostate cancer and radiation in 2015. That increased his risk for bladder cancer and he was diagnosed with it last October. The Dr did two biopsies since then to remove it but it came back so he is getting chemo inserted tomorrow.)
He hasn't wanted to leave the house much since he had the shoulder replacement a few weeks ago so I told them to take a ride here to get him out. He isn't sleeping at all and fell asleep on the sofa most of the time he was here. But Cait got some jabs in which made him laugh and he loved the video of Scott and the little boy on the hike with the toad.
Cait and Tom cooked dinner for us. That was a lot of fun- they have a collection of vegan cookbooks based on horror movies so they made Freddy Burgers and we watched the OG Nightmare on Elm Street. A Freddy Burger is a vegan burger topped with a "cheese" sauce, sweet onion jam, roasted red peppers, and BBQ sauce. It was layered to look like Freddy's face.
So yummy too. Verrrrry messy but yummy.
I was supposed to be going to Sam and Scott's this morning to make the party favors. Sam couldn't get off work so I'm heading down late afternoon. I guess I'll work on the house and laundry today. I'm also forcing myself to restart yoga again. It's been weeks and I notice such a difference in my posture and flexibility.
I hope that you have a fantastic day and that the sun is shining by you!

I see that you took breaks while in the garage but that was a ton of work for anyone.

but today, rainy....

he spoils me!! So for now my old iMac is in my craft room and I will use Photoshop on it until I transition over to a newer version with a subscription. I am sorry I have not been around, but this last week of May is going to be crazy busy! SIL Linda and I are heading up to the Lake Property to get going on packing the kitchen and whatever has not been done yet. We are not sure just how much is left to do as we have not been there for awhile. Wednesday is supposed to be the last day that the In-Laws will be staying in the house, then they will go to Linda's until the moving truck arrives at the new place on Friday, if things go well with us packing, then they might be staying with her starting tomorrow instead, we will see. Yesterday was spent celebrating my brother and SIL's 50th wedding anniversary, we had a great time with them and another couple who are good friends with them, delicious supper and great conversation, as we sat looking at their beautiful view of the river flowing past their place. Anyway I will have to be quick in here this morning as I need to pack myself a lunch and pick up SIL Linda soon. I am getting pretty tired of the drive to and from the In-Laws as it is always a bit stressful with the elk popping out of the bush along the way, now it is rainy on top of that so it will be even harder to see them. I hope that you all have a lovely day and Happy Memorial Day to our USA friends!!
