Happy Monday and many thanks and blessings to those we have lost in service to this country.

Was everyone's weekend nice? Yesterday was a good one here, it was a nice reset for all of us. Cait and I were busy in the kitchen much of the morning. We made the alien deviled eggs- the yolks I tinted with red and a smudge of blue food coloring. We made an alien egg cheese ball, alien grilled cheese sandwiches, and UFO quesadillas. Drinks were some funky fruit-infused vodka, blue curacao slushees. You add tonic water and they glow under black light! (Who knew? So cool!) We watched Mars Attacks which is hysterical.

I worked outside a bit, weeded out more of the side section of the yard that edges the woods. We have some blueberry plants that need to get moved over there so I needed to make some room. Overall, a pretty good day!

Today it looks like it is going to be cloudy and cool so I am going to stay inside. I might try to scrap some of the photos of our theme nights. Or maybe one of my Tat Rat.

Gratitudes-
-the weather was nice outside yesterday
-birds singing (although the one that sounds like the MRI machine-- not so much)
-no new COVID cases in my town again! I think we have only had 6-7 news cases all last week.

Hugs!!!

Trudy- how exciting to have so much of the bottom cabinets done, are the uppers going to be hard to do? I think that a different color or shade for the island would be very nice. I love the way the darker grey breaks of the lighter grey in my LR/kitchen area.
How was the b-day party? How sweet of her parents to do that for her. Do you have to wear masks when you are out? We do and OMG, I had a nightmare that I was out shopping and I forgot my mask. That is not gonna happen!
I hope that you were able to get on a hike yesterday.

Kay- so glad that you were able to sleep better that last night, how did you do yesterday? Congrats on cutting your bangs and not cutting them too short ;)
I hope that the heat doesn't make you feel too poorly. We are still waiting for the nice, hot weather in NJ.

Nancy- it was out in the yard in a T-shirt and it was chilly. I was also too lazy to go in a get a sweatshirt so there is that. But I bet that it is perfect weather for Luther! You do have a fantastic DH! I am currently reading an old Nora Roberts book, Tribute. I read it before so it is family but I don't; remember so much of it that it is ridiculous to reread at this point. I am going to have to get some new books somehow and I am not sure how.
I hope that you get an ice cream truck for your birthday too LOL I bet is you ask your DS who caters, he must know someone

waves hi to all fo you!! xoxo

In three minutes I promised to turn this computer over to DH for the H&S Zoom session, but wanted to say I'm still chugging along. Yesterday was pretty hot as far as I'm concerned, up in the 80s. Likely again today and tomorrow. Not my thing as some of you know.

Chris add my hug to Cait and yourself for your dear trash rat. Alien night must have been a good time. We put NASCAR on the TV and I found it perfect background noise while we worked on PU. Hope you get lots of outdoor time.

Yikes, gotta go. HAGD.

Morning, all. Had a so-so night again. Won't be getting in here until later tomorrow [Tuesday] as I hope to get on the way to the base to pick up meds early then go to the commissary. Will be so glad to switch to the new meds.

Spend yesterday sewing up the new style masks for me. They are a more fitted style. DD#1 showed me hers and the girl's and I liked the way they fit. It has a pocket that goes along the top inside edge where a chenille stem (pipe cleaner) goes so you can mold it closer to the nose. Found the pattern on Pinterest. I was looking for some cotton fabric to use for them. Ended up opening up a box of 'unfinished' project and found a shirt I had cut out but not sewn up. I really need to sew it up... it is a wild print with 3 other fabrics for the yoke, collar and sleeves. It made me smile when I saw it. This is a photo of the mask... and you can see how I cut my bangs. LOL

Took this with the camera on the laptop. I was waiting for the family video chat. Have the laptop set up on the end of the kitchen table as that has the best light with no glare from the windows. It is so nice to get to see everyone and catch up on the news.

Chris, glad your alien night went so well. Not sure I would have like to eat those eggs with red/blue in the yokes! LOL... you have such a great imagination.

Trudy, how did the neighborhood's birthday party goes??? Amazing how people can celebrate without getting too close.

Jean, glad to see you popping in even if it was a really short visit!

Didn't end up getting the banana bread or the meatloaf done yesterday as I spent the afternoon working on the masks... finished them about 20 minutes before our family chat. So that is on the schedule for today. Need to get them done before the heatwave hits on Wednesday. Suppose to back up into the mid-to-high 90's again. While we were chatting, DSon#1 mentioned changing the filters on his A/C and that reminded me I need to change mine. DH always did ours so I forget it needs to be done. Which also reminds me that I need to change the filter on fridge water line!!! Guess I need to look to see if I even have a replacement cartridge. Hope you all have a good week.

good morning - Thanks of course all those that gave all so I can be free. I am watching the NatGeo channel as they are having a marathon on National Parks and this hour is on Saguaro National Park. I love this park. It is so fun to see the animals and birds. I love the road runner and hummingbirds. My DH took Luther as I am waiting for the afternoon and sun and warmer temps. Today is our 48th wedding anniversary. Makes me smile to think it is on the same day as Memorial Day. We are just going to enjoy each other's company.

Chris your alien night sounded so fun. I hope you do scrap would love to see. Hope you enjoy relaxing. I keep seeing that we will warm up this week but I am not sure until it happens.

Jean I need your temps and I will gladly swap. NASCAR would make good background sound. Are you going to watch the new ABC show Genetic Detective. It seems that they use genealogy to find family relationships to help find murderers.

Trudy did you get out for your hike. You must be missing your Wednesday hikes. I know how much you enjoyed the hike and the company. As I said I want an ice cream truck such a cool idea. Continued good times with the kitchen.

Kay have you even read the CJ Box books. Apple gave me a cheap book to hook me and they did. I guess I never realized all the work a Game and Fish Warden has to do. Have fun scrapping.

Grateful to be married this long and amazed how fast it went.

Good Monday Morning ladies and I am sure that those in the States are feeling grateful to those who have and are serving to keep your Country safe! It is a very :rain: day here today. So I will be doing the same old thing, more sanding, priming and painting. Hope to be getting a face time call from Heather and the boys, but it is a lovely warm sunny day there so they might all be outside enjoying the fresh air. Spent my entire afternoon strippng my kitchen tile floor. I always thought that it was clean, but I spilled some TSP cleaner on a section of it and you should have seen the dirt!!! So I thought I may as well continue and get the whole floor done. Buckets of black water later and my floor looks like it is brand new again! Well except for the tiles that I dropped something heavy on and chipped LOL. Had a lovely supper of ribs and seven layered salad last night, sure love it when my Gary BBQ's! Oh I have a call coming in so I will talk to you later!! :bolt:
