Happy Monday and a new week! I am very hopeful that I can get myself back on track. That is my goal and what I am going to focus on 100%.
I have lots of little things to do around the house and will do my best to not get distracted. *fingers and toes crossed*

How was everyone's weekend? I am glad that mine is over. I felt like crud all day yesterday. Muscles spasms and heart issues. And fatigue! I even ended up back in bed for an hour after lunch just to see if that would help, but it didn't. Maybe it did a little bit. Definitely not enough.
I am still exhausted today but will keep plodding. Slowly. ;)

I was able to scrap a couple of pages for June Challenges so that was good. One I really like, the other two -- varying sorts of meh-to-not bad.

Today, I am taking both dogs to the vet to get Lyme and lepto vaccines. Cait is going to come with me. I was planning on going alone, they are both good together, but at least I will have company. After that, it will be putting the rest of the house back together from the party and then getting ready for food shopping tomorrow. That always stinks.

xoxo!

I haven't done this in a while but today is:

Biodiversity, a simple word with some very broad reaching implications. Biodiversity, when split into its component parts, “Diversity” defined as “a range of different things.” and bio meaning “life”, quite simply means “A Diversity of Life”. It has been shown that ecological niches with good biodiversity flourish and are healthy.
The History of the International Day for Biological Diversity
The International Day for Biological Diversity was first established in 1993, when the 29th of December was selected to serve as the day to educate the world of the importance of Biodiversity. This was later changed to the 22 of May in 2000. Too many winter holidays were interfering with countries holding meaningful celebrations.
The prevalence of monoculture farming in the world has led to some rather dramatic and drastic consequences. Unknown to most consumers, most of the world only consumes one type of banana, and that isn’t the same kind that was being eaten only a few decades ago. Due to monoculture farming, an entire species of banana was wiped out by disease, leading to the cultivation of our present strain. Without biodiversity, we’re currently set up for the same thing to happen all over again.
Each year a theme is selected to educate the world on the broad variety of topics that fall under the veil of biodiversity, from Water and Marine biodiversity, to Forest and Sustainable development concerns.
Celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity
Celebrating Biodiversity can be fun and delicious, especially if you take this opportunity to visit farmers markets and co-ops in your local area to try new types of produce. Whether you incorporate heirloom tomatoes into your gardening or cooking, or try one of the rainbow of colors of carrots out there that aren’t orange, biodiversity can bring a great new experience to your table.
Another way of celebrating biodiversity is to join a local park clean-up team and help to remove invasive plants from your local environment. These teams of volunteers will gather to remove plants that are impacting the local fauna’s biodiversity by taking over natural grow areas.
Another way to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity is to simply get out into the world and enjoy all the different types of life your local area offers. Even a local park can have an amazing variety of life you’ve never noticed, from the insects crawling through the grass and dirt, to the flowers we so clumsily lump together as ‘wildflowers’.
Whatever the case, get out there and celebrate the diversity of our natural world, not just on the International Day for Biological Diversity, but every day!
The weather isn't going to cooperate to being outside to enjoy the biodiversity in my town but I will check on the tomato seedlings I am growing- heirloom yellow pear tomatoes. They are like grape tomatoes but are yellow and more pear shaped. Hence the name :p

Sunday:

Nancy- how do you get so much scrapping done while watching exciting hockey games? I would be so distracted. But you thrive!
How fun to be at the Rock for another meet with PE!

Rae- that sounds crazy about PS going crazy with your RAM. It is like iTuines updates and every time it updates it gets all messed up. I have CS5 and I don't even know if updates are available for that anymore. Hope that all of your computer issues get fixed.
How is Darrell feeling today? Is Crohn's an autoimmune issue? If it is I can see why being so sick makes it act up.

Sharon- guess it is better to prepare for bad weather that doesn't happen than to be unprepared when it does. But that sure is frustrating. Is FIL recuperating well?

Hugs to all of you!

good morning! It is rainy, well right now it is a heavy drizzle but it should rain more as the day wears on. But Luther and I got out and I came back damp but not soaked. Thank goodness for waterproofing. Yesterday was fun. My DIL and I went to the Rock and met her brother and we got our photos taken with Patrik Elias. Omgosh he just get cuter as he get older. It was funny because I was so mad. My DIL sent me the email she received and it was an invite but only to the season ticket holders in the lower sections. I sent a scathing email to my rep. Turns out that because they can accommodate only so many in 2 hrs they are having several photo ops. If the emails had gone out with that info I would have understood but there was nothing to say that we would get an opportunity. My rep called this morning and we agreed that the Devils did not do a good job on handling this. LOL. But I got my photo so I am happy! And had fun with my DIL. Came home and watched the Penguins slaughter the Sens. It was not fun to watch as I really hate blowouts like this. Of course if it had my Devils I would have liked it. Watched some of the Sweden/Canada game but did not get to see the end as my son and DIL and their dog came over and we walked downtown to the city's free family night. It was BBQ food and it was pretty good. And the boys could go back for all they wanted. Came home and had Luther and Sidney (she is my son's dog who has always been aggressive to dogs) meet in the back yard. They did pretty well. Sidney allowed Luther to sniff but then Luther got to close and she nipped him. But she was not growling. We will try again but at least she did not run and growl and try to get him that is progress.

Chris I am not surprised you were tired yesterday. After all the work you put into the party and the house and into the plans it had to take a toll. Enjoy just resting and doing the small stuff. Hockey is fast and for some reason scraping comes easy while I am watching and listening. I guess because I have been to so many games when the broadcasters talk I can see it and know from the rise in their voices when I should pay closer attention and then there are the replays. And then there are the commercials and intermissions.

Rae sounds good getting the computer to the tech guy to get it all fixed up. That is strange about PS. So far (knock on wood) with each update I have been ok. And you can never have too much memory or ram. Hope Darrell is doing better.

Sharon so glad the bad weather did not come. How nice to spend time with family!

Trudy and Rae enjoy this extra holiday!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. A sunny morning is so much nicer to wake up to. I puttered around a lot yesterday, got some paper work done and watched some shows. I was tired so in bed by 11:00. I'm not so much of a night owl anymore. Poor Darrell is still so sick. He's not able to hold down much food and feels miserable.

Today I will get out with Taz, get groceries and make the cheese crackers later. I never got a chance yesterday to make them and I know if I don't get them baked today I won't have time later during the week. I want to pop into Winners and see if they have a silicone rolling pin.

Chris - I'm doing ok with CS5 for now. I've been watching the task manager and the ram-memory is hovering around 50% which is much better than 95+ with PS CC. I"ll talk to adobe if I can find a phone number for them, after I get my PC back from repairs. You are right, there are no updates anymore for any programs other than the cloud service. That is frustrating b/c I had bought CS6 just before the cloud service came out but b/c it was a downloadable update I can't get it now. Luckily I had the CS5 update on CD. As for Darrell, yes, Crohn's is an autoimmune disease so his immune system is compromised. He doesn't get sick often but when he does it lasts longer and hits harder than it ever used to. The medications aren't working well so soon he will be moving onto the injectable meds which the hospital is going to instruct him for. Hope you take it easy today. Sounds like the wkend took a lot out of you so take time to relax. Don't push yourself. Awesome about growing the tomatoes! Nothing tastes as good as homegrown tomatoes.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm going to go do laundry now, get some chores done and get to the grocery store before it gets busy.
