Ahhhh! It is already 11.30 am and I am just getting the time to pop back in here.
Yesterday was a really long day for me. I was up at 5 with the dogs. We left here at 10.15 to get to my mom's an headed over to Leah's university to be there at noon. The ceremony started at 1 pm, was over at 3. Then over to the restaurant by 4 pm. Home at 8 pm. I am really feeling it today, especially after sitting in crowded bleachers for 3 hours. My back is in knots.
But it was 100% worth it! I was so proud of Leah. Scott and were searching for her and when we saw her walk in we were jumping up and down, yelling for her. She graduated with Honors no less! It made me happy to see how proud Scott was of her too. They are so DAMN cute together.
I was very bittersweet for Arlene. Leah decorated her cap with a note of thanks to her mom and dad. I know that everyone felt the loss of him not being there for her. Leah's grandma still has very deep reservations about Scott but took the time last week to explain why, by sharing her stories of losing family/being in Auschwitz. Nothing personal against him but when you lose so much because of culture and religion, she doesn't want to lose anymore. Makes sense to me and to him. Leah's aunt Karen (Her dad's sister) loves Scott and said how happy that she is that Leah has found an extended family in us. And we just adore her (in case you didn't know!)
Today is also Scott's b-day and I was able to give him hug when he was up getting coffee. Then I told him that it was my gift to him that I would let him drink his coffee in peace ☮
I have a bunch of tidying up here and trying to figure out what to make for his b-day dessert for tomorrow. W had diarrhea and had me up very early this morning. I tried to go back to bed but was totally unsuccessful so I am dragging.
Hope to catch up with everyone from the weekend later.
