Look--- Blue sky!! I actually see a tiny piece of blue sky and I am going to treasure it for as long as I can see it.
It ain't gonna last long. The rest of the week we're going to get rain, rain, and more rain. I think everyone in the northeast of the continent is getting hit by this weather system. But for now, the blue sky is going to lift my mood.
What an exhausting weekend of doing mostly *nothing.* It's hard to get motivated and I don't do well sitting for very long. Mentally *and* physically.
My big project was to do another spring cleaning challenge and it was bathroom day. I keep my bathroom pretty tidy but I really scrubbed and worked at getting the soap build-up tackled. So much hard water deposits on the shower and sink faucets but now everything is very sparkly.

I made vegan lemon pasta for dinner last night. I had made it twice before and the second time I used sweetened coconut milk by accident. Lemon and coconut are fantastic together with rum, but with linguine?? Blech! This time it worked out very tasty. I also learned that vegan parmesan cheese is better to buy pre-made than to make it yourself. You make vegan parmesan by grinding up raw cashews and mixing it with nutritional yeast. And it tastes like raw cashews and nutritional yeast. *wrinkles nose*

Plans for today are *throws hands in the air*
I don't even know.
I would love to take the dogs for a walk but they are going to want to go on the trail. It's way too muddy to do that. (I think we got around 3" of rain this weekend, yikes). The challenge is either going to be cleaning out the fridge or the garbage can. Tomorrow is garbage day so today will be the fridge. I did that recently when the iced tea bottle broke, it shouldn't be too bad. That should give me an idea of what I need to put in the grocery order today too.

MeMeMonday
Yoga. I was so unmotivated this weekend that I didn't do anything active at all. (I cleaned a but that doesn't really count)
I can feel the tension in my shoulders and neck so I know that's going to help loosen it all up

What are *you* going to do for MMM?

@vickyday Waking up early because the electricity is out isn't a good start to the day, glad that it was only off for an hour or so. Funny how the fan made Asher think it was time to eat. Dogs are so smart with some things, but timing and food--well, I guess it's always time for food in their minds. It was so dark here at 4 pm yesterday, mine were whining at me for dinner.
That's so interesting about the history of the Creek saying. That isn't one that I am familiar with but I can see how both meanings/origins work.
I hope that this break in the rain will help the basement dry out a little before the next few days of rain make it worse. I think we both are going to need bridges across the basement too. :(

@LSlycord That's the truth that it's going to feel like May has flown by and my hope is that you remember to take some time for yourself and breathe. Even though it's still a big house, it's a lot to downsize. Try to not put pressure on yourself to have it look photo-shoot-ready by June 1. It's OK to have boxes shoved in corners for a while. It's more important to take walks on the beach than it is to stress over where to put things.
Jaida is high strung too. My vet recommends that I give her Trazadone the night and morning before her vet appts. I always forget the night one and then I figure the one dose isn't going to be worth it. If it helps her get through the chaos, it makes sense to give it a try.
We finished the second season of Leverage so I think that we will start The Diplomat tonight or tomorrow. We try to limit how many different shows we watch at the same time because we can never remember what is going on. It doesn't help that we watch a lot of similar shows too. I refuse to watch The Last Kingdom and Viking: Valhalla on the same night b/c I can't keep anyone straight. LOL!

@Cherylndesigns How are you feeling today, not as tired? Congrats to Ava! I love that she disarms them before she even gets on the mat. Talk about a Charm Offensive :floorlaugh: Half the battle is in your head- she gets in theirs and fast.
Yup- I repotted my African Violets and that pushed them over the edge,. They were struggling and used fertilizer and topped off their container with African Violet-specific soil. That didn't help so I repotted them and it wasn't long after that they gave up. I tried so hard, I really did.

Hugs to you all!!

Good Morning!
YAY! The sun is shining here and I can see blue sky, too, @faerywings !
Before I forget, my MMM is scrapping! And perhaps go to lunch with Mark if he wants.
That is totally about it for me! I'm listening to an audiobook while drinking my coffee and checking email but had to turn it off as I write this. My mind doesn't do two things at once very well anymore, LOL!
Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful week!
Ona says the challenges are wonderful this month so I'm looking forward to checking them out today! Mine is different than the usual "May" challenge, too! ;)

Yes, if I happen to feed Asher and then Mark walks past his food dish right after that, Asher tries to hoodoo Mark into feeding him again! Little turd! And then if we are eating right after that he acts like he hasn't eaten and sits and stares at you. We make him go to his bed while we eat. And he has to lay down. Then when we are finished, if there happen to be crumbs or whatever left in our plates we sit it on the floor and he has to wait until we say, "break" before he is allowed to clean the plate out. If we happen to miss making him go to his bed while we eat and he whines he has to go to his kennel. No whining allowed, LOL! If there is nothing left on the plate and we set it on the TV tray until we make a trip to the kitchen Asher will keep darting his eyes from the plate to you and back again. You have to take the plate to the dishwasher before he stops! Yes, they are pretty smart!
Mark says he needs to bring in some dirt to fill in the low places around the house so the water will drain off and away from the house better, including away from the septic tank. He believes that will help the wet basement problems. It's always something with an older house. This house was built back in the 60's. He grew up here.

I might have done something scary stupid exciting thing today. I've sent in samples of my digital stickers to a scrap store. If she likes them, I will start selling my stickers there.

Morning ladies... I am back in the land of the living, sort of LOL. My brain is still very foggy when I wake up in the morning. Boy oh Boy Covid sure kicked my butt!! I tested positive for 12 days and I was plugged up and sickly feeling for all 12 of those days! I finally have gotten some of my strength back, but it takes me quite a while to get moving in the mornings. Anyway enough of my whining!! I will take some time today to catch up on everyone's news here and then try to get back to scrapping! I need to get coupons out to the winners for last months challenges too. On a happier note, DH and I worked in the yard all weekend and everything is all neat and tidy and weed free now Hooray! I am paying for it today however, stiff and sore from raking and pulling weeds, but its good to know that the yard work is done for now anyway. We also got the patios power washed and all the outdoor furniture put in place, we are good to go for the summer! On a couple of days when I didn't feel too sick I got some spring cleaning done too. Walls washed and blinds cleaned in our bedroom and on-suite bathroom. It took me forever, but its done and now I can move on to the other rooms. I need to get the house all spiffy before August because all of the kids and grands will be home for the long weekend in August! I am doing a happy dance knowing that everyone will be here!!! :dancingelephant: Heather and boys will stay for probably two/three weeks but Jason and family only have one week with us. We will take what we can get right?!! Ok I need another cup of coffee (glad that I can once again taste my coffee!). I will return soon for personals! :waving1

Sunshine here! After a rainy Jazz Fest Saturday(deluge) because it always has to rain for Jazz Fest! But it was Ed Sheeran time!! We have had gorgeous spring weather- a "real" spring.

My birthday is coming soon (I am now on Medicare!!!), our anniversary, my dogs 8th birthday, our cat's 16th birthday and my FIL's 6th heavenly birthday.

Good afternoon all. Chris @faerywings yes, I'm feeling better today. Not totally exhausted like I was yesterday. We ended up dog sitting all afternoon and evening. Ava asked if we could watch her Bailey while she went rock climbing. Rock climbing after all she did Saturday??? :runningdog: That girl - I swear she never winds down She ended up meeting some friends and they all went out to dinner. Bailey is fine here and keeps Daisy company. I knew you'd love the visual of her flitting around smoozing all of her competitors.

Your dinner sounds yummy - interesting fact about the cashews. So, vegans can eat cashews? I might be able to be a vegan then (NOT) because I love cashews. We had a nice surprise for dinner. Roger, Adrienne and Braden brought dinner to us. Adrienne made chicken and dumplings - they are SO good. It's a big trip from their house to ours, you know. :floorlaugh:We had some cottage cheese here, which we all love, and we made toast. That was it. It's so sweet of them to bring dinner to us. Chuck loves just staying right here. We normally have a crowd at their house, so we have to go there. Everybody else was busy last night so it was just the 5 of us.

Trudy @taxed4ever I'm SO happy to hear that you can taste again! That's a good sign! It really did kick your butt, didn't it? So, you worked out in the yard? I guess that means we don't have to make the trek all the way to your house. I need to get out in my yard - it's beautiful here but so windy and it seems like it's ten degrees colder - the wind has been fierce. Braden needs to come weed whack right behind our house - he can't get the riding mower back there because of the steep hill. It's starting to look like a junble out there. Good thing the neighbors aren't complaining. Wait, we don't have any neighbors. :rotfl:

Guess what? The Hummingbirds started coming back yesterday! We've had the feeders out but we saw our first ones yesterday.

Sharon @scrapinmom it's so good to see you in here! :waving1 Hope you can make it again - we have a lot of fun in here.

Eva @tanteva waving to you too. :waving1

I might try to pop back in later and see if anybody else stops by. MMM - get out to the front garden and pick up the debris that the wind blew in. Also start my workout again. I've been slacking too. Ever since my treadmill died, I've been unmotivated. I could start walking outside if this wind would just die down. Today's the day for the rest of my workout!

Ok my day is not going as planned and I am in the middle of a bunch of baking. Waiting for some cauliflower wraps to come out of the oven, then on to other things.

@faerywings - Hope you are able to get back to your yoga!! You don't want to get all stiff and sore. Hope that the rain holds off and you don't get what the weather man is predicting! Heather is getting all that rain too! She is so looking forward to coming out West for the summer and said to me this morning that she will be with us for at least three weeks HORRAY!! I feel the same as you and have a hard time doing nothing at all, it almost made me crazy to sick and unable to get anything done! So of course I over did it when I was feeling better enough to get some cleaning done. For my MMM I plan on having a nice hot bath and work some of this stiffness out of me.

@vickyday - Thanks so much for starting the tracking thread!! My daughter needs you to come and teach her dog some manners!! He is a badly behaved little guy!! However the breed is pretty high strung so I guess its to be somewhat expected. Hope that you have a lovely lunch with man today!!

@Cherylndesigns - I hope that you get to be out in your yard today, our neighbours behind us have a backyard with three foot high grass!! Ughh no wonder we never spend anytime out back anymore. These are the bad neighbours with the annoying dogs (they let them bark for hours). and they yell and scream at each other all the time. I wish we were lucky like you and had no neighbours at all!! Nice that the hummingbirds are back! We have the rufous ones right now and we are going through nectar like crazy with the rufous and anna's fighting over the feeders.

@scrapinmom - Congrats on your upcoming birthday, hope the weather continues to be springlike! Oh Ed Sheeran I just love him!!

Ok off to get the rest of the wraps out of the oven! Have a great day everyone! :bye2:
