16 More Days until the Big One!

Look at that little guy, isn't he cute? Someone in my town was looking to rehome her beardie and I *almost* suggested it to Scott. then thought better of it. Smart of me.
There are some decent Spring Vibes in NJ today, it is 50* already and might get over 60* if we are lucky. It looks like it is going to rain again but as long as it isn't freezing... *woot*

Thank you all for voting in my Poll- I ended up not cleaning yesterday. (Is anyone surprised? No?? Of course not LOL) I didn't scrap as much as I wanted to. I had some house "stuff" that needed to get done and by the time I finished the LO I had been working on, my brain had shut down. I am going to do the cleaning today, might even try to get the windows open for a little while.
Scott was working at the ecology center and ended up hiking afterward. He called to ask if I would be upset if he didn't come back for dinner-- of course not! It was too nice, I am always happy when he is where he belongs- in nature.
My time in "nature" was scooping the lawn now that almost all of the snow is melted. I had to restrain myself from not clearing the leaves off of the garden, it is still too soon. When it freezes later this week, anything hibernating will die and you know I never want to do that. I have been hoping that my Toad Friend is doing ok wherever they are.

oooooh-- it looks like the sun is trying to come out, yipeeeee!!! I better get some b-fast and start my day, have a wonderful time whatever you do

@LSlycord Oh no, that is not a good start to tornado season. It seems like hurricane season starts earlier and ends later every year, guess tornado season- and wildfire- is doing the same. :(
How was the strawberry festival?
Ugh, my heart can't take it-- I would be holding on to Decker and crying g my heart out. You are soooo amazing to be taking him in for a while. I know, it is a little easier knowing that he should have a home to go to but still. :(

@BrightEyes Your DD must be so happy that she is staying with you. I know that you are going to take the best care of her. I hope that you can be online at the same time but if not, you will have time to scrap offline :D Good luck to her at the pre-op appt. What movies did you set aside? It is going to be like having a Girls Night (Weeks) in!

@bcgal00 How exciting to have your new DR picked out. What does it look like?
Poor little dahlia sprig - but the pups had fun running around so what can you do? :D Will you have a garden at the new house? (Sorry, so many questions from me)

@Rachel Jefferies It's so nice to have you pop in here! I am really looking forward to getting to know you and your partner in crime (@Lynn Grieveson -- she *has* to be your partner in crime, no other way around it) better.
Whew- you lucked out with just having a cough and not a stomach bug. Hope you and your family are on the mend.
Hahah! Your story of Keaton's friend's mum at the checkout is too funny. Any time I would bump into one of my students in the grocery store (I taught preschool) they would get so confused, like how could I leave the school, didn't I sleep there?
B-fast for dinner is the best, so I will agree and say that b-fast for lunch also rocks.

@tanteva feeling any better today?? I hope so!

@Cherylndesigns do you just hate when that happens, you are minding your own business, and all of a sudden your cart fills itself on its own! haha. We need pictures!
I am going to be all geeked out about your garden too! OH!! I just remember that Scott gave me a pack of basil seeds last fall, I should see if I have starter soil... and take the plastic egg carton out of the recycling bin. Yayyyyysssssssss!

Hugs to you all!

Good Monday morning!! Yesterday was lovely and sunny and my DH even got the grass cut! It was warm but the breeze still had a bit of a chill in it. Spring must be on its way as the pollen is already bad! I haven't seen too many trees blossoming yet, but there must be some out there as everything was covered with the pollen yesterday. We spent most of the day outside, trimming and cutting down the pampas grass tidying up the yards and then taking all the yard waste to Bing's Creek. So did everyone else in town LOL. The trucks were backed up down the road from the dump off site, but the line up went fairly quickly. How could you complain about it? We got to sit in the nice warm sunshine and listen to music while we waited. We spent some time having coffee on the front porch and then DH cooked us up some steaks on the BBQ. I say it was a perfect day!! I am off to a hike today with my friend that I had lunch with the other day. We are going to hike Stoney Hill, so I hope the sun comes out and the views will be great. It will be good to be getting some exercise! I hope to get a page done this morning and catch up on some commenting. Heather will be calling soon too so that will take up a good chunk of the morning LOL.

@faerywings - Love you countdown photo today! Cute to look at, but I would not want one wandering around my house! How great that Scott was out in his happy place yesterday and considerate of him to call to say he would not be there for supper. I was going to vote in your poll yesterday, but I figured with all of the others votes for no housework, that would be exactly what you did! Good for you! I need to go back and check out the chatter from over the weekend, seems I must have missed out on a lot going on here. I am so happy that the sun is coming out for you today and I hope it melts away the last of snow around you! Get out there and soak up those rays girl!! It feels amazing!! Enjoy your day!

I am off to the shop to decide which amazing kits I will try to work with today! Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Good morning ladies. Today is packing and purging (as everyday is until we move). I'll go get gas later (yikes, the cost keeps rising) and pick up a rapid test if the pharmacy hasn't got a long line up. They recommend keeping one on hand. I have to call gas and hydro to arrange the move with them. Then I'll start packing and purging. It's going to rain today and tomorrow but the truck is backed up to the garage so I won't get too wet when I bring stuff out to it. It's been fun to come across old things like my transit bus pass with photo from the 80's. I threw it away but took a pic of it to scrap later. Also took a pic of my old radio (before walkmans) to scrap about.

I'm having fun looking at new things for the home. Our main living space will be espresso colored furniture, the quartz counters are white with sparkles in them and the floors are warm toned dark hardwood and stone. For the dining area I have a cream colored distressed wood serving tray, cream salt/pepper shakers and a white ceramic big cookie jar that I keep the dog food in. That will go on the sideboard in the living room area. Yesterday I ordered a white ceramic sponge holder for the kitchen sink and a sugar/cream/sweetener set to sit on a white colored distressed little tray that I can move around the kitchen/dining area as needed. I haven't shopped for the home in a long time so really enjoyed that.

I won't buy too much though b/c I'll wait to see what I need to fill up spaces when I get there.

@faerywings Enjoy the sun, we don't have any today. We didn't buy the dining set. We decided to wait another week just to be sure it doesn't get delivered too soon. They seem to have sales on quite a bit so we're confident we'll find something we like when the time comes.

@taxed4ever Enjoy the hike today. Our rain just started so hope you don't get any.

I'm getting more coffee and will head out soon for errands before I dive into packing so more. BFN

@bcgal00 glad you are having fun picking things out for the new place! Your choices sounds gorgeous just from your description!

I am meeting the real estate agent today to see what he proposes about selling my house

@faerywings Yes - rachel is definitely wonderful to have as a partner in crime!

Good afternoon!

Chris @faerywings what a cute countdown picture you've posted today. Gosh, spring is just around the corner. I think I ran into "Spring" yesterday as it left us for a few more days. We've had a cool front move in but it's supposed to warm up again in a few days.

I looked at the tag that I cut off of my vest and went on their website to see if I could find the vest I bought. Mine's kind of like this, but it has some faux fur on it - I couldn't find the exact one I bought. I told you girls that we have a local department store that caters to the western look. They had tables full of Yellowstone T-Shirts, but they're all gone. We have two other stores that are similar, but they have more "working western stuff" This one has the cool clothes, hats and boots. We usually end up there whenever we go out.

Of course, I don't look this good in mine BWAHAHA!!

Rae @bcgal00 your new decor sounds beautiful! LOVE your palette - those are my colors, too. Your quartz counter tops sound gorgeous! Good luck with the packing and purging.

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson so you're moving, too? Are you staying in the same area?

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like you've had a busy and productive day. It must be very nice, weather-wise.

Kind of getting a late start today. Our fajitas were excellent last night and we all sat around the table and played Scattergories. It god pretty crazy! We're all so competitive. We always make Chuck be the judge.

Have a good day all.

Hi, gals... another quick in and out today. Spent the morning scrapping then realized that DD#3 will be picking me up in just a little bit. She has her pre-op appt and wanted me to go to meet the doctor, etc. At least I got a challenge page finished and uploaded this morning. :D I did get the DVD inventory updated and printed out yesterday. So that is 2 things off my 'to - do' list. Don't think I will make in here tomorrow as that is my Red Hat chapter's lunch day. Still need to make up a chef salad to take with me. Looked in the hard boiled egg carton .... the eggs were done in Jan... so into the trash they went. Got 6 eggs cooked and cooled and into the fridge.
No time for personals.... just know I am thinking of all of you.

Just a quick note. I'm still not feeling well, but at least I now know it's not covid. Will contact the dr tomorrow and see if I can get some tests done.

Good evening all. Looks like my new normal will be evenings at the O! Glad that you had some nice weather @faerywings! We had a beautiful day...sunny, warm but not hot. Not a lot to report tonight. Tomorrow will be a big day...we get Decker at lunch time. Work is going well...I like the people and I like the work. I'll take it!

@taxed4ever we also have a lot of pollen here. It accumulates in the pool on the water line. I wipe it off one day and then it is back the next day. We did get something to add to the water that is supposed to help. We will see if it does. It sounds like yesterday was fabulous!

@bcgal00 the new place sounds beautiful. I know you must be so anxious to get all of the new stuff...but you are right, once you live in the space, you will know about what things will make it perfect.

@Lynn Grieveson another potential move? You are in NZ right? Are housing prices as crazy there as they are in North America?

@Cherylndesigns I love that vest! Very cool! Sorry that you have a cool spell...we have one coming this way for the weekend. Just in time for the outside stadium Billy Joel concert Saturday night.

@BrightEyes another Red Hat luncheon. Sounds great! Glad that you had a chance to visit with DD#3 even if it was on the way to the doctor.

@tanteva so glad that it isn't Covid but I'm sure glad that you are going to see the doctor and see if you can get it figured out.

Everyone have a good day tomorrow.

Thanks so much, Linda! I hope it doesn't get too cold there! Of course, the concert is at night and it's chillier then. Our cold snap isn't going to last too long, thankfully.

Hope everything has a good week!!

A flying post from me today, just got back from the school run, it's a very cold zero degrees with a bitterly cold wind, I was wiping their noses and eyes all the way!!

Just landed at my desk with a coffee and a chocolate croissant and about to tackle some work, I have about 4 hours until it's time to leave for school again.

Yes @faerywings I think partner in crime would be a good description for @Lynn Grieveson but does that mean that I'm a naughty girl?
