This entire bit of not knowing what day it is has to stop. My new insomnia routine is to wake up in the middle of the night to remind myself what day it is. It is a useless trick since I forget all of it when I wake up for good. :p Thank goodness for the Ooos so I can say that "at least I know what day it is at one point each day."
The weather has changed a lot, it poured most of Sunday and it is very windy out there right now. It was a good day to be in the kitchen although I wasn't in there as long as I expected. The chicken was defrosted enough for me to separate the pieces and throw half back into the freezer. I will cook the rest today- some for dinner tonight, some to put aside for future meals. I did make the rice pudding which came out really good and put aside some for my dad. They are coming up on Saturday for Easter- well, to bring us Easter Pie! Next year I swear, I am going down to help my mom make them. I have made them with her a long time ago but it is one of the many traditional dishes with no written recipe that will be lost otherwise.
Scott had a nice time celebrating Passover, I love that he is able to do that with them even though he isn't religious at all. Leah isn't either but because of the family's history, I know it is very important to Arlene. He has a "Jewish" name that she uses when she prays in Hebrew. Warms this mom's heart that his other mother (see, I can share!!!!! ha!!) loves him so much.

I finished a page for an April challenge and I really love how it came out. I think I am going to do some more scrapping today.

@taxed4ever How often is your wine ready to be bottled? You two must have the routine down perfectly. You do make such a great team. Oh wow, I hope that Canada is able to speed up the manufacturing process of the vaccines. It really does feel like it is never going to go away. Great news that the ILs got their first doses.

@Cherylndesigns Whew! I am so glad that Lila is OK. Poor little thing! You should be so proud of the work you are doing with the house! Hahaha, I love all of the herbs and the "double dill." I grew dill once when I had the cucumbers and was making pickles. I do a lot of container gardening since my patio is small and shaded. That way I can move them around. This year I really need to replace the soil in a lot of the buckets and get some more fertilizer.
Hope you had a great day by the water!
Here is the recipe I use: Rice Pudding
I usually double the recipe, overcook the rice a bit, leave out the raisins, reduce the sugar a bit, and add tons of cinnamon.

@nancyr Pancake breakfast with the kids must have been a bit of a shock to the system. That was nice of you to go grocery shopping that early! I am sure the kids had fun.
The rest of the day sounds positively joyful! What a blast watching them learn how to ride. You must have gotten so many pictures between that and then dying the Easter eggs. Stay warm today, it feels so damp and cold out there.

Hugs!

@faerywings What kinds of things do you put in your containers for gardening, Chris? I tried a cherry tomato and a Big Boy tomato in pots last year, but they didn't do very well at all. I also did some pepper plants, which didn't do very well, either. I grew some herbs that did pretty well. I'm wondering if the roots to the tomatoes and peppers just didn't have enough room? I'm going to try again this year, anyway! I'm going to try some butternut squash and some yellow squash and zucchini this year. I'm thinking about doing some lettuces in rail boxes, if you know what I mean. But, I have to get my hubby to make some boxes first!

Morning O-zies!! I have been face timing with Heather this morning. She is one very happy woman! She landed a job with a Travel Agency this morning. Hooray for her!!! Sadly she also found out that the schools will probably be closing again soon as the numbers in Ontario are astronomically high! Dammit why can't people behave?? The Travel company told her to be prepared to be as busy as she wants to be, because travel is opening up again and the companies have lost so many employees! It is great that she will be able to do all of her work from home though! Heather really wants to work mostly in Cruise Industry, but until she gets her feet wet she will take whatever comes her way. I for one do not understand how anyone would want to go on a Cruise again after all of the trouble that happened when Covid hit. But hey what do I know?? I am just happy for her that she has finally landed a job! Today is my alone day with not much to do, so I hope to get some behind the scenes things done here, perhaps I will attempt to scrap a page also. It is a gorgeous day outside, so I really should be getting out for a walk soon!

@faerywings - What on earth is Easter Pie?? I have never heard of it before. You will have to give us more details please! As for the question about the wine... It depends on how many weeks the kits are that we purchase. Most of the Reds are ready to bottle in 6 weeks and the whites usually between 3-4 weeks. However we have recently bottled a 6 week white and OMG it is to die for!! So nice!! Gary and I have it down to a science and can usually be completely done bottling in about an hour. It used to take us much longer, but when you have everything all ready to go it goes by pretty fast!

@nancyr - Oh how fun to have the kids come over for pancakes!! Our grands love their pancakes with chocolate chips too, so I have to make sure that we have them on hand when they are visiting. They would have pancakes almost every day if they could LOL. Nice to watch the kids learn how to ride their new bikes too, yup the boys seem to be more dare devils than the girls! However our Sadie has no fear at all and takes on everything with gusto!! Hope that you enjoyed your Devils win last night, we did not LOL. The officiating was horrendous!! But then we lost, so I can say that LOL.

@vickyday - Hope you have more luck with your plantings this year! I am still trying to get my DH to build be planters so that I can have raspberries, strawberries and blackberries growing. I have requested it for about 5 years now LOL.

Wishing you all a very lovely Monday! Hope the sun is shining for all of you today!

Hello girls!
I'm not the best company, so don't be surprised if I'm skipping some of the upcoming days. Spring fatigue and bad luck makes me very grumpy person! All happened to me last Friday, and we are try to fix the consequences whole weekend. Will try to keep this short as no one needs murmuring.
So my computer died. It was giving problems from a while, and we was try to improve it with dust cleaning inside, and regime of use, but it was keep ran to the edge! Can you imagine to try find the repair guy at Friday night during lockdown! The office is closed for the next week, he refuse to come at our house, and when we offered to bring the computer at his house, he sudenly remembered that he is 'out of the town'. So we ended just buying new, and I'm expecting delivery some of the next days. At this time I'm using my sister's laptop. I hope that it's not a problem for the O that I'll use different IP few days.
My sister is so lucky person and I'm grateful and very happy for her as she is find so patient and smart partner! My brother in law spend the whole evening in tries to explain me how to cool down the PC and keep it alive until save as much it's possible photos. And most important to delete all embarrassing videos and bookmarks, before to give it for repair.
One personal advice from me, even if don't feels need just immediately go and save all your naked photo sessions on ED ;), don't keep anything at your computer! Do it now!!! LOL! :p
I'm just kidding! But I wasn't able to save my birthday cake, and the most adorable story book page, both almost finished! I'll make another cake on time, but I don't think I have nerves to start the story page again.
And there was second story about lack of luck during the weekend but let's left it for tomorrow, as it's enough for today! o_O

@vickyday My mom plant cherry tomatoes at pot every year, and have good results. Give them space between plants, lots of sun and good soil, don't worry roots aren't too long!

Chris, seriously, why you stress yourself like that? Who cares which day it is? How this change anything at all? Hugging you very strong, you silly girl!
OMG, I totally forgot that your easter is earlier than here, mine will be at May!! Have fun with your family! You have to sit and scrap one cookbook with family recipe, then print it for every household at your family!

Trudy, Hooray for Heather!!! And I was sure, because she is just awesome! Your answer about the Earth Hour warm my stressed heart so much! In my opinion Canada is one of the most eco-friendly countries, and you have so many great initiatives, at least as much as I know from this book "Sleeping Naked is Green"!

Cheryl, thank you for your nice comments on my IG! And I just love see you and Ava gardening or building, wearing tops, how is possible to be so hot where you are, madness?
Oh, I got scared for Lila, nice to hear that she is fine!

Nancy, I'm so happy that you likes your new family and have so much fun with the kids!
