GooooOd morning!!!! Happy Monday to all of you!
Did everyone enjoy the weekend? I did but they go by so fast. Too fast. I had fun here yesterday. I was hosting the Show Me A... Game and it was hysterical! The game is still going, so if you haven't been in there, you should. Everyone who participates gets an entry to win a coupon to On a Whimsical Adventure's shop. (do it!! go go go!!!!)

Then I spend an hour trying to find some reviews for local hair salons in the area. Yelp stinks! The reviews there were so unhelpful and I didn't trust a lot of them. It is almost officially a year since I last got my hair colored and it is a mess. I have to get it done before all of the parties/gatherings/graduations begin in 3 weeks. :faint:
I found one place that looked promising. But when I went to their website, there weren't any prices listed. Not a good sign since most of the websites I was able to find had prices and even those were pretty darn expensive. I sure as heck don't have $200 for a cut and color let alone more than that. My mom offered to help me buy an outfit for BFFs party but I told her that I would rather have the money to put towards my hair but the $30 it would have cost me for a top wouldn't put a dent in these salon prices. Hmmmph.

At any rate, that was my :blah: for the morning. I am going to work on cleaning my house today and get ready for food shopping. I have no ideas. If you all had a quarter for every time I said that, you would have enough money to send food to me just to shut me up :tape:

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

Nancy- wow!! That is incredible that Westwood had so many people there. And even cooler for DH to see how many people were on the trains going to NYC.
hahahah!!! Love that you and the woman next to you at the game got ajita from nerves :p Good win for the Devils!
when we had to go to the kids' LLMD, it was like another world in Hunterdon Country than what I am used to in Morris/Passaic/Bergen. Even in my rural area, there aren't many "big" farm areas since the soil is so full of iron and rock. Sometimes I forget that our little state is a pretty neat place to live :)

Felis- there were over 800 marches all over the country and I would guess there were lots more that weren't counted if they weren't officially registered. I saw the clip of Paul McCartney in NYC. John Lennon's murder was one of my first memories of gun violence. :( I was born in 1968 so I "missed" the shootings in the 60's.
I am sorry that you and your mom had a fight. This is how I feel what Cait and I fight. She is too much like me and we both say things that we know will really hurt each other. Hope that you are ok with each other now.

Jean- that must be so fascinating to look at more church records. Are you done with the German records now?
We still have snow in the shady areas and where it is piled up and plowed. But it is getting there and I am seeing much more in the grass to snow ratio :)
we should hit 50* by the end of the week. :whoo:

A quick request before I sign off:
Cait has her On-Site Application/Decision today for Ramapo College. I am not worried that she won't get in, but it would be really nice if you could send her some good luck vibes! Thank you!

Hello girls,
I dragged myself all day, I'm overwhelmed, but no mojo for anything. I should scrap big photo page this morning but nothing comes in my mind. Finally I feels my health normal , but I'm still little upset because of mom. She makes me a coffee this morning which mean all is forgot (my family don't speak about feelings), but is not fair because she started. However we aren't a kids to explicate and fritter every words. Now I have to organize myself and I want to know thread makes me think for happy things. It would be so nice if I can just go out and play with Biggie at the snow, but it melt and we are back to the mud, wich isn't the best time to play with him :) .

Chris, hope food shopping went fast and without surprises! About the hairstyle salon when the prices aren't shown on a site, this not looks professional, I mean why this should be secret?! I had so much fun at Show Me A... Game, thanks for the coupon gift! I'm sure Cait is in, so congrats for her!

Jean, I see what you mean. I lived in another town about 5 years during my education. But my family is from conservative group where is accepted unmarried woman to live with her parents and a married with the parents of her husband. Only exception is the education time. Especially after they robbed us previous year, all are freak out. We have to be together, because I can't forgive myself if something happens with my parents. Nevermind! Enough for me! It so nice that you could help to your BIL!

The other girls, I kiss you and will check back for your posts! Have a lovely day!

good morning - the sun is shining. Just got back from taking Luther on a walk and in our mud room where the dog door is two Carolina Wrens had come in. LOL. Opened the door and they flew out. What would make them come in is beyond me. But it was cool. I think they were in love. I had such a great day yesterday and who would think I would be hanging with my DIL and her brother. Cracks me up. We had a great lunch a pizza with pineapple and prosciutto. It was really a good combo but I would not have picked it. Then we went to the game. The game was awesome. The Riveters won 1-0 over the Buffalo Beauts. The Riveters scored in the first and then it was just back and for - up and down the ice with great saves by the Riveters goalie K. Fritzpatrick who was named the MVP of the game. I sat next the the family of one of the players. They were so nice and so excited for their daughter. She was a former Yale hockey players and has been playing for first the Boston team and now the Riveters. Her mom thinks this is her last game so for her to go out as a winner was very cool. It was fun to see a women's championship game. Came home and my DH had Shepherd's Pie all ready to eat. OMgosh it was so good. Then watched hockey. My former Devils Adam Henrique had two goals for the Ducks as they came back and defeated the Oilers 5-4 in OT. It was quite a game. Now today I have no Devils games but home games Tues, Thurs and Sat. It will be a busy week. But a fun one.

Chris it was amazing to see Paul McCartney marching in NYC. He sure has first hand knowledge of this. I was so glad to see him giving his support! Hopefully this is just a first step in getting change.

Felis so sorry about arguing with your mom. My son and I often argue and I have come to enjoy the dialog. It keeps my mind active. We don't always agree but I have changed his mind on a few things. And he has enlightened me on some things.

Jean that is so cool about having more access to those old records. You must be learning so much.

Trudy hope your weekend was filled with fun with the kids

Rae hope this weekend helped you catch up with me time and you were able to reset and recharge.

Have a great day all!

My day is so confused. Could swear DH was here past time to leave for H&S and told me it was canceled so I went back to sleep instead of getting up and doing Monday bills, etc. Except it has to be a dream as he was gone the regular time and it was not canceled. Weird. Now I'll have to kick him off PC later to do financial stuff. Anyway, sunny and apparently going to be above freezing all week, even at night. Too bad it's windy.

Chris, sure wishing Cait into Ramapo! Glad you had a nice weekend and got such a kick out of the Day 7 show me... I got spun around it that for a bit. And not showing prices is a definite marketing technique. You're supposed to get a desire for the product/service before seeing costs. But for a salon, probably a sign it is pricey.

Felis, guess you have to get over irritation with your mother on your own if that's how it works in your family. Or, let it out here where we can sympathize. And, no, I don't think playing with Biggie in the mud would be fun. Wish I could suggest something for the big photo challenge but it should be one that you feel good about at the moment. One of the furbabies comes to mind.

Nancy, that is fascinating with the Carolina Wrens! I first remember you here from the LOs you did of them at your feeder. Glad you had a good time at the women's hockey championship, and better yet got to talk with family of a player. If wishing will help, wishing wins to the Devils to get into the playoffs.

Trudy, are the grands still with you or is it recovery time yet?

Rae, loving that Vicki picked a gorgeous page of yours for today's scraplift!
