Ok, I *could* be all modest and stuff and pretend that it isn't a special day but you know what? I'm old enough to not care. It's my birthday so happy birthday to me!

49 years old today and I told my family that I didn't want anything special for this one but gave them the go ahead to plan something for the next one. *gulp* What did I do??? LOL

Yesterday was very nice to be with my family and ILs. Gary was able to come down with us and that is the best gift that I can ever get. The weather was so strange though. It wasn't supposed to rain but we got sprinkled on a couple of time. Then right as we sat down to eat, it poured and didn't let up. Everything got soaked including my shoes that I had taken off.
My ILs got me a new Wacom tablet, one with the Touch feature. After my old one stopped working a few years ago, I got a new one but in looking more at price than features, the one I got didn't have Touch. And wow, I missed that. They also got me a t-shirt that I had asked for that says "Never the less, she persisted- a reference to one of my heroes, Elizabeth Warren. Kamala Harris and Tammy Duckworth are also in that category. I adore smart, tough women in politics.

My parents are taking me to lunch and Gary is cooking one of my favorite dinners- pasta with caramelized Vidalia onions and garlic. yummy!!!! Then I have to stop eating so much on Tuesday.

Rae! OMG, I am glad that you didn't get too banged up from the dog! You rode mechanical bulls? That is fascinating!
Glad that you had such a nice walk and time at the dog park. Cait and Leah took Jaida on Saturday but none of the dogs that were there wanted to actually run. So she ended up standing at the gate after a while, ready to go home.

Happy Birthday Chris! It is a great accomplishment to have another birthday. Have fun celebrating! I know your family will spoil you! Glad that you had such a great day! We did not get any rain at all! It got cloudy but then they went away.

Had a great day yesterday. Got a lot of cleaning done while the boys were gone. It looks so much better. The boys had a great time shooting! And this morning their shoulders are sore from all the recoil from the guns. I am just glad that they shoot others guns not their own. My DH came home and decided to BBQ so that was awesome. He has liked my veggie recipes from Blue Apron that he bought asparagus and used one of the sauces. Very yummy. And he made a peach pie. A very good weekend! Today the weather is spectacular with low humidity and blue skies. Had a great walk with Luther. Saw two fawns but he did not bark so that was good.

Rae that is something about the dog and you riding him. So glad that you were feeling so much better the next day. I bet the owners were panicking - you are a trooper! Bet they enjoyed the swim in the river with the temps being so high! Hope work goes well!

Had a lovely day yesterday, got some gardening done, took the dogs to the river for a long swim and relaxed last night after dinner, watching TV and puttering on the computer. I re-installed CS5 on my little computer upstairs b/c I missed using my actions which I wasn't able to do on PSE. So I got it re-installed and started reloading some actions/styles/brushes as we caught up on some episodes of Law & Order SVU.

The next 3 days are super busy so I won't be scrapping or hanging out online much. I have a lot of work to do, some household chores that need to be done and Beckham is coming tomorrow for the day to see how he does here with our stairs. Hopefully he will do okay and if so, we'll take him for a few wkends over the summer so his owners can go away. I bet they really need it b/c as much as they love their dog they must be exhausted from all the care he has needed with surgeries, chemo, rehabilitation, etc. I'm really looking forward to having him for a day. My workload is just insane this week but if I survive it, the next few weeks are fairly light.

Chris - happy birthday! What wonderful gifts you got! Sounds like today is going to a great day too. You deserve it!

Nancy - how nice that your hubs not prepared a BBQ but a peach pie too! Mine can barely make toast LOL.
