Happy 1st Day of Summer!! I love summer!
It is also my parents' anniversary- 57 years. (Yikes!?!) Ya never know when it comes to them if that is good or bad.

I had a pretty decent day yesterday, Gary was happy with his card and dinner. I made him fettuccini alfredo and homemade Italian bread. Cait made everyone drinks and we watched a few episodes of Drunk History together. Cait and Tom went to his dad's grave together and that really affected her. She has such a big heart and it kills her to see someone she cares about suffering. It also made her want to give Gary a huge hug when she got home. Scott called from his vacation to say Happy Father's Day and everyone shouted into the phone too. I think I have mentioned before but out of the core friend group, Gary is the only dad left. It is kind of a bittersweet, funny and heartbreaking "joke."

On a happy note, Caitlyn survived the family party for Tom's sister and said that they were all very nice. She overheard his aunt saying how nice it was to see him smiling at her. She says that to me with the same darn goofy smile on her face, LOL!! We were remembering how I knew that she was interested in him weeks before she admitted it to herself, I could tell from that smile every time she talked about him. :)

Nothing much happening today- I have to call the state about our health insurance now that Scotthas an income. We might lose the subsidized plan we are on and I don't even want to think about trying to afford a private one. Not much chopiceinthe matter however.

Better get going, W is whining to go outside.

Man, the crows are screeching about something out there. They are pretty obnoxious aren't they?

@tanteva OMG, that is hilarious! 100 pets!!! I guess it is a good thing that I have mostly carpets here, no was to collect too many of those bunnies ;)
Seems like you are doing a fab job with the shadowing. I got a kick out of seeing some of the old photos of John. Your dinner sounds very yummy- I bet I could substitute eggplant for the zucchini. That is also a good vegan option if Tom comes for dinner.
Nic Cage bugs me because it feels like every role he plays is the exact same one. Kevin Costner came across the same to me but I know Nancy (I think it was Nancy, maybe Cheryl? Both??) likes him in Yellowstone.
55*, that is is?? I am rethinking my plan for you to adopt me.

Kay- that is good news that you are less sore today. The heat by you is too much even by my standards. So happy you have the AC and fans going. What a fun night you had watching the "oldies" on VHS.

@felis I actually like to listen to audiobooks but not while I am driving. IO know some people will do that but I really feel like I am not paying enough attention to the road. Maybe if I was doing a long trip, one straight highway, but most of the driving around New Jersey isn't like that. I hope that you enjoy the book you got.
I can totally see how Salvator's hair looks like Ian's-- and now I get the reference in the name. What a fun project to make!

@Cherylndesigns That is wonderful news, that you are feeling better! How was the like? Was it crowded with lots of boats? I want to see pictures of the goats when you take them please. I loved how my cats would squeeze themselves into the sliver of sunshine on the floors. The dogs try to but it isn't the same.

Nancy, Jean, Trudy, everyone-- sensing you all big hugs!

Woke up to chaos today. Since my political English is just as bad as my medical English - I cheated and copy & paste from CNN:

"Sweden's parliament ousted Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in a no-confidence vote on Monday, giving the Social Democrat leader a week to resign and hand the speaker the job of finding a new government, or call a snap election."

We're officially in limbo! Absolutely perfect in the middle of a pandemic! Thanks to all the elected responsible adults in our parliament. [Insert an exploding and ironic smiley] The mess is so complicated that I won't even bother to try and explain, but basically we have a government right now that can't make any decisions until they've sorted this out. Which they won't, cuz everyone's a stubborn little toddler.

I meant to scrap all day, but completely lost the mojo. Everything I do look like crap, can't focus at all.

Tomorrow, I'll work all day (9.45am-6pm), and on Wednesday I have a dr's appointment. But after that - I'm gonna celebrate Midsummer HARD for 3 days. LOL

On the plus side: I lost a whole kilo this week! (1 kilo = 2.2 lbs according to Google) Must be all the popcorn I ate this weekend. LOL Anyway - midsummer will make me gain it all back by next Monday!

Good morning ladies. Had such a busy wkend. Dog park on Friday, BBQ on Sat and spent Sunday at the beach with the dogs. We all came home happy and tired. It was the first time this year I was in the water. It was hot and sunny with a bit of breeze on the water. It was perfect. All the dogs play in the water together and Remi and Bella were in heaven. Taz stayed mostly with us, paddling around the shore, but he was happy.

Today I have to check some info for the TV/internet. We have to decide which company to go with now that our contract is up.

@faerywings that sucks about the insurance. Hope you figure out something affordable.

I’m going to get another coffee, get dressed and get started on my day. BFN

Sorry to be silent so long, but ideas in my head just don't make it into words most days. Nice things happening here. H&S is meeting in person (except today they went back to Zoom as the person whose place they're meeting is away). The senior center may be reopening today, but reduced hours and their room isn't available yet. However, one of them now lives in a condo complex with a big party center that they can use and it worked out really well. So they've done that twice now. Also DH's cigar box guitar project is moving along and seems like a lot of fun and the kids (only one signed up so far, they want 12) should be interesting. Saturday was his birthday though he got his present early in June when it arrived. Many thanks to Rae @bcgal00 and Nancy @nancyr for discussing the Nikon P1000 as that is what I got him. If you saw my big photo challenge of a wood thrush that was his with the new camera. Genealogy in various ways takes up tons of my time as usual.

Eva @tanteva that meal with the chopped veggies sounds wonderful (but as we're confirmed carnivores I'm afraid I'm going to try it with some meat in it.) It will be a nice variation on one of my usual things. I wanted to make it last night, but DH wanted to go out and as he didn't go out on his birthday, it seemed only right to agree.

Chris @faerywings it is so good seeing your life begin to return to a more pleasing path. Good luck with the stupid insurance!

Cheryl @Cherylndesigns also good to know you are feeling better. Hope it was fun on Tenkiller. I think I've been there, but definitely not ON it.

Felis @felis we can't see the flaws in the little guy, but since you can, I know you'll feel better if it can be changed. They are such fun projects.

Wishing everyone good weather, or at least the kind you like.

Chicken would work well, I think. I was thinking of adding scrambled eggs, but I went with the cashew nuts instead.

Good afternoon all,

Chris, @faerywings Happy Anniversary to your parents!! See, all that bickering didn't hurt a thing. ROTF 57 years - wow!! My parents made it to 62, crazy! They literally got married right out of high school. Glad Gary enjoyed his day. Chuck cooked dinner for the 4 of us. He had a wonderful (quiet) day - he got to spend the day alone (he probably watched golf all day) and fixed dinner in the crock pot.

We had a really fun day! I have motion sickness, so I have to take lots of medication, but I did okay. Somewhere in my archives I have pictures of Ava (of course) with the wild goats. That girl is fearless! We saw Goat Island, but didn't get out of the boat. I'll see if I can find those pictures - they're really cute. The lake is gorgeous!! Good luck with your insurance. It's such a PITA!!! However, it beats the alternative where you have to wait for months just to see a doctor. I'm SO happy to be feeling better! I didn't REALLY feel like going boating yesterday, but I forced myself and I think it did me good just to soak up some sun for a couple of hours.

Waving to all and sending hugs.

I forgot to hit post again. ROTFLMBO - i yi yi. Oh well, it gave me a chance to see jean's @scrap-genie post. We had a great time on Tenkiller! It even looks bigger when you're out on the lake! Glad things are going better in your world and we've missed you. I'm finally crawling out of my "sick hole". Good luck with your craft sign-ups. I remember working for Joan's and waiting to reach my minimum sign-ups. The cigar box guitars sound really cool!
