It's soooo cold here, the past two mornings have been in the 40s and 50s. What happened to it almost being summer? I would love to send the cold air to Kay or Linda if I could.

Why does getting older have to hurt?
My back is better today and I am probably about 80% upright. Still no bending. I am starting to think I should get a cane for when I do this to myself, but then resist that thought completely. I am only 53 (for the next few days at least LOL) I was so darn bored all day but I did get a bunch of scrapping done and posted 2 new pages.
I am going to have to take it a bit easy again. I was going to go food shopping in person tomorrow but thought better of it. I was able to get a shop from home spot so I will work on that today. I HAVE to be able to clean for my friend on Thursday. I haven't been to her house in 2 months. Her DD1 had covid, then it was here, then her DD2 had it.

one thing I am going to have to do is force myself to walk around the house every so often. I can feel my hip starting to stiffen and that is just going to drag this out. blerghhhhhhhhh

Have a fantastic day!!

@LSlycord You are so lucky, my back has been a pain in my butt since I was a teenager. I have to be careful with it getting too stiff b/c it will trigger sciatica if I am not careful.
pparently my body is compensating for all of the other aches and pains that come with aging and my back rarely goes out and I rarely have migraines. (knock on wood)
knocking on wood with you!! One of the benefits of getting older for me too-- only *very* occasionally will I get a migraine. Hope the heat cools off a bit-- *waves a giant fan in FL's directions* here's some NJ cold air for you!

@tanteva OMG :D is that ketchup consumption per capita or an average? Are you throwing off the mean on your own? hahahaha!
enjoy watching your baby birds!!! Have you been able to closer and get any pictures of them?

I am dyin'!!!!!

@BrightEyes How much rain do you need to get to break drought conditions?
Sorry to hear that you were feeling crummy but relieved that it didn't last too long. Sometimes when I am overtired, I can't get warm, think maybe you had a busy week which made you feel run down?

@Cherylndesigns sorry that Adrienne is not feeling well, did you and Chuck have a nice Father's Day together?
Did you talk/text with Asher since he got home? Hope that he is able to keep the newly Cici-adjusted attitude intact.

@scrap-genie I am not a fan of mustard either although I like honey mustard with chicken fingers. ketchup, yuck ( just in case someone hasn't figured out where I stand on that yet LOL)
Congrats on the genealogy talk! It must have been exhausting to be "on" the entire day but I am sure you did fantastic and kept everyone's interest and attention.
Happy belated B-day to DH! Enjoy the genealogy class this week too xo

@bcgal00 Better late posting than never--isn't the Draft feature here terrific?
*fingers crossed that yesterday was D's last trip to the wound care center*
Jen must have gotten a good laugh watching the baby birds bouncing around :) I hope that you get to see them soon. I knew you would understand the Back Pain Blues :/ How has yours been feeling, you are doing a lot of walks so I guess it has been good?

hugs!

LOL! I would take that cold air in a heartbeat @faerywings. It's only 78* and feeling like 83* and today it's only supposed to reach 89* but it is miserable out there. By Wednesday we are back to 97* and Thursday 101*. But what do I expect? I live in Florida. And part of the reason that I am here is because I hurt so much in the winter back home.

Another slow day on the agenda here. Neither Syd nor I work today so we will probably get a little bit of pool time together this afternoon. I didn't scrap a single photo yesterday so I've got some work to do today.

@bcgal00 I hope that yesterday was the last day for Wound Care. The medical system can just drain the life right out of you. Love that you met a friend who is also retired. I have found making friends difficult here. I'm quite an introvert until you get to know me so that, combined with Covid, combined with this new stage of life where I don't make friends through my kids...well, I am certainly going to need to work at this more.

@tanteva funerals can sure be sad. Even when they are meant to be a celebration. Who knew that Swedes were so fond of ketchup? Of course, we all knew that our favorite Swede was that fond of ketchup!!

@BrightEyes I hope that you are still feeling ok today. That's odd that you were so chilled but didn't even have the AC going. I agree with Chris, I think that sometimes when we have too much activity, our bodies show us to slow down in the oddest ways.

@Cherylndesigns the Compound must seem so quiet. Hopefully, everyone gets to feeling better very soon and summertime fun can begin again.

@scrap-genie I cannot believe how much you do with genealogy. I am in awe. I think that I might like to take some classes in the future. The future being "after Sydney leaves for college".

Ok, I'm off to accomplish a few things today. Like what...who knows?

Morning, gals. Yesterday was like a replay of Saturday.... started feeling cold again just before noon so grabbed the fleece throw and snuggled under it most of the afternoon. At least I was wearing capri pants... not shorts... so didn't have to put a housecoat on, too. Turned the ceiling fans off and the A/C never did come on. It only got up to 83* for high. Think Chris and Linda are right... been doing/going all last week and the body said it is time to rest! Yes, we are still getting rain (early in the morning and then again in the evening and night). Not a huge downpour all at once in our area - but nice soaking rain. There have been flash flood warning in the burn-scar areas of the state the past couple of days. Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to be heavy rains most of the day/night so I won't plan on going anywhere. May try to get some perennials for the pots on Thursday or Friday. The Salvia - Sage plants are doing great and I haven't had to water them since they are getting rain every day right now. I have 2 small pots and 1 very large pot in the front yard that need plants; and 5 medium pots in the backyard. They all get full sun most of the day so that limits what I can put in them. Once I get those done, the yard work will be finished! Been thanking my lucky stars that the roof repair was done before the rains came.

I switched from the heavy-duty knee brace to the medium weight brace yesterday as the capri pants would fit over it but not the heavy duty one. Since I mainly ended up in the recliner all day, it did the job. But sitting at the computer makes the knee ache I will be not be doing much scrapping this week... again!

@faerywings So sorry your back is still bad. You know using a cane might not be a bad thing to do. I know it helps me get up from sitting when my back is bad. It keeps me from twisting when trying to push up from the chair. Yes, getting up and moving a bit during the day will help with the stiffness but don't over-do.

@bcgal00 Hope that is the last of the wound care visits for your DH. Glad you are meeting some of the neighbors on your out-and-about walks. Sounds like you are settling in and enjoying the new place. Sorry you missed seeing the baby birds learning to fly.

Well, the knee is talking to me so better close this out. Hope every one has a good week.

Good morning ladies. I didn't sleep much last night b/c my neck hurt. Not sure if it is the neck arthritis that flares up occasionally or from the lump on the side of my neck, maybe pushing on something in my neck to make it hurt. Now that I am out of bed and moving around the pain is easing up. Sure wish I had a doctor to talk to about my neck but I am not going to sit in Emergency all day (which would kill my back) so I hope the neck grape sized lump is nothing to worry about. I know these kind of things are usually not anything serious.

D enjoyed a steak dinner for Fathers Day and Jen and I got him cinnamon buns and butter tarts. We watched the last two episodes of Bull. Jen and I found chocolate keto ice cream which was really good and also keto nanaimo bars.

Today I've got chores, organizing and hope to get out to the dog park before dinner.

@faerywings Glad you are starting to feel better. My back has been pretty good since the move. I think not working and sitting but getting out walking more has been good for me. I got a bit of scrapping done yesterday too. I am loving your pages lately.

@LSlycord Our temps are starting to rise too. Thank goodness for A/C.

@BrightEyes Be careful and rest your knee.

I'd better get another coffee and get on with my day.

Good afternoon,

I'm not so exhausted today - yesterday kicked my butt. The second day always gets me.

Chris @faerywings that stinks that it's so cold. I'd gladly send you some of our heat, it's in the 90's now. It was so hot while Asher was here that being outdoors wasn't a lot of fun. He kept complaining about the heat and I said "Really??? You're born and raised in this heat, plus we don't have 99% humidity here." I have NOT talked to him yet, they were traveling all day yesterday and he's at his day care (rec center) today. His dad was in Joplin for Father's Day, (Asher's other grandparents live there), so we met them on Saturday and they flew back late yesterday. I'll talk to him this evening.

Linda, yes the compound is quiet. Braden's still here, but he leaves Wed. It's REALLY going to get quiet because Adrienne and Roger are going to Mexico for a few days so it will just be us and Ava. Ava and I have to go to their house and cat-sit a couple of times a day. Adrienne's all worried about her cat. She also has 2 in the garage - Stormie and her baby (the other baby went to it's new home.) We'll have their dog, Lila, here with us the whole time.

We had a nice, quiet Father's Day. Adrienne got Chuck his favorite pie from Nancy's Pie Shop and he was in Heaven. It's called Buttermilk Pie - way better than Sugar Cream and I even got a piece. That was his Father's Day gift. Watched Bloodlines for a couple of hours. Man is that a convoluted show. We only have a couple of episodes left. I can't even imagine how it's going to end.

Happy Monday everyone! I was totally MIA as usual on a Sunday! Our Father's Day dinner was very good! Everyone had a wonderful time and we sent leftover home with MIA/FIL and SIL Linda. I was on my feet for most of the day getting all the different dishes prepared and then cleaning the house a bit. No sense washing the floors as we can be a messy bunch when it comes to large family gatherings LOL. The sun came out for the afternoon and we all enjoyed sitting outside on the upper deck. As the wine started to flow the volume of the group got louder and I am sure the neighbours were happy when we finally went inside to eat. I did not consume too much as I was the cook and needed to get it all on the table. It was great to get together and everyone had a good time catching up and learning what has been going on in each others lives for the past month or so. By the end of the day I was totally exhausted and was in bed by 9:30 and slept right through until 7:30 this morning. I feel pretty refreshed today! Now its time to clean up the mess and wash the floors etc. Hope to get out for a walk later in the sunshine if the weather holds. I will try to get a bit of scrapping done, but that might not happen until tomorrow. Wednesday the guy comes to install the screen door, so no hiking :( . My sister Pam's birthday is quickly coming up so I need to get a card made for her. Wendy (my other sister) and I will be going up to see her on the 30th and will take birthday cake and gifts to her and spend the afternoon together. So I will try to do a bit of catching up here today for a bit.

@faerywings - I am sorry that you hurt your back! Glad that you are feeling a bit better with it today though! I was surprised that my back was not sore after doing all of that standing and prepping for dinner. I do have a couple of really good anti-stress mats in front of my counters , one by the cooktop and the other in front of the sink, so I think those really help out a lot! Oh and Cheese Cake is pretty much Keto - cheese and eggs all low carb which is what you want. I put lots of berries on top and make a sugar free choc syrup to drizzle on top. Oh and no crust, which you really don't need with a cheese cake. Everyone loved it!

@LSlycord - Wow you are getting some pretty hot temps!! But like you say, you live in Florida, guess its to be expected. I have found that since getting to the age that I am 66 now, that it is harder to make new friends. However I am fortunate to have many of my old high school friends around here and of course my two of the three sisters that I have are fairly close by. Then there are my O friends here and I love each and everyone of you! I am pretty content with the friends that I do have and don't really find the need to make new ones. I do know what it is like to move somewhere new and not know anyone though. I did that for 28 years while my DH was with the R.C.M.P. we moved around a lot, but then the kids were small and it was just easier to meet people through your kids activities.

@BrightEyes - I hope that you do not get the chills again today! I would imagine that yes it is your body saying that its just done a bit too much and now it needs to re-coup! How nice for you to have the rain and now you don't have to worry about watering! I can't imagine going that long without any kind of precipitation, but then I live on the Wet Coast, so rain is a constant thing LOL. Take care of your knee and get that rest you need!

@bcgal00 - Oh my I hope that the lump on your neck is not something serious!! Perhaps it is just a Ganglion cyst? I hope that it resolves itself soon! Sounds like you spoiled your hubby with all of his favourite things to eat! How is the organizing of your beautiful dressing room going? Do you have it all done? I still need to put my winter clothes away, but some days it still feel like winter here LOL. Hoping that this week will bring a change in the weather for the good.

@tanteva - I just about spit my coffee out when I saw your new siggie addition! Hope you are feeling a bit more up today!

Ok the bed needs to be made and the dishwasher emptied, then on to more cleaning and a bit of laundry too. Oh Heather facetimed earlier and now there hot water tank needs to be replaced. Uggh it is always something!! Thankfully they rent their hot water tanks out there, so no worry about having to fork over big bucks for a new one. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

@Cherylndesigns - we cross posted this morning. Hope you are doing ok with Asher being gone, it must be hard! You will miss him a lot I am sure! What season of Bloodline are you on? We watched that one for a bit, I think it was the middle of season 3 when we stopped watching it. Of course season one the the best of the bunch!

Trudy, I miss him like crazy. Even the animals do. The cat keeps looking for him - it's really funny.

We're in Season 3, Episode 8 of Bloodlines - I think there are 2 episodes left. I just asked Chuck because I can't ever remember. You must have watched a lot of it. Each episode is SO long, though that it's taken us awhile to watch it. Season 3 is when it starts to really get crazy! I made my prediction, last night, as to how it's going to end - we'll see if I'm right.

Another really good one that you might like is Justified - I think it's on Hulu. Chuck LOVED that show!

Work done for today! And I'm not scheduled to work until Thursday next week. 9 days of scrapping! (shh ... don't talk about cleaning, laundry and organizing stuff).

I must tell you: I probably eat less ketchup than other Swedes. And my son! I've completely failed in raising him well. He only have ketchup on hamburgers & hot dogs. Don't know where I went wrong.

@Cherylndesigns When we had to send Mario to the rainbow bridge, I kept seeing him for weeks. I still miss him like crazy, he was my soulmate. I mean, I love all the animals I've had, but he was my special darling.

I'm a bit tired, I think I'll just go and watch an episode of iZombie before I go to sleep.

I swear, their spirits never leave! We had 2 dogs at one time, one we lost and the other one kept "seeing him" - I know she did! I felt him breathing on me.
