Hi there, dear O-zies! Did everyone have a wonderful weekend? We had a really nice breakfast yesterday. I was able to get everything taken care of that I needed to before the family got here. And I didn't stress too much. :whoo:
All of my hard work the day before paid off, everyone noticed how nice the yard and gardens looked. There is still-- and always-- more yard work and weeding to be done but that is good for me.
After everyone left, I did some tidying and grocery shopping prep. Today, I am not sure what I am going to work on. Gary might be heading over to his uncle's one last time to pick up some bookshelves. While he is out, I might steam clean the carpets one more time before the party. I hate how the old stains keep on coming back. The only issue is that I have is they are going to take a long time to dry since it is humid. But I can get the ceiling fans running so that will help.

I am going to post this and be back later for personals. Caitlyn asked if I could help her study for another exam today. BTW-- she got two more 100's on papers that she had to write. So proud of my girl!

xoxo

Jean- I hear ya, grey and wet here too and for the next several days. I opted to hold off on the carpets. Hope the sun is out for you today!

Nancy- I haven't been in the gallery the last few days, but I am going to have to see your new LOs, they are always so nice! I think I should try that brain training game, mine has turned to *mush.* LOL

Kay- sending you some more virtual chicken soup! Feel better!

love to all!

The throat is still sore today so will be staying inside. DD#1 called yesterday to see if I wanted to join them for Father's Day dinner but I declined. When I explained, she understood completely. Then DD#3 called to catch up on how things were going with them and with me. Suppose to have some 'scattered rain showers - with a possibility of severe storms' so guess it is good that I plan on staying home. I opened up the house early as it was only 65* - want to cool it down abit as it was 76* inside. Will be closing it up in just a few minutes. So far the A/C hasn't come on yet for the season even though it is turned on at the control box. So glad I have ceiling fans that help move the air around. Stayed in PJs yesterday - but need to get a shower today. May put PJs on again as a reminder to stay in and rest.

Good Monday morning ladies!! It is another sunny dry day and we are now officially on level 2 water restrictions :mmph: We usually don't get to this level until late July or into August. Please send us some rain!! We had a great time at the golf tournament and although my golfing is really terrible, it was fun anyways LOL! We golfed with a couple that we know from my DH's work and we had a lots of laughs! Supper was delicious and I even won a couple of the door prizes! One was for a Tasting and Tour of the Red Arrow Brew Pub for 10 people. I don't drink beer so I am not sure just what I will do with it LOL. Perhaps I will give it to the kids when they are out and they can spend a day together doing the tour?? Or perhaps I will give it to our hiking group or DH's work place. The other was a nice little coffee press, which will be great for my DH as he is terrible at making coffee for himself on the weekends LOL. We lathered on lots of sunscreen and I only got a bit of pink on one of my shoulders, so that was good! Yesterday was spent cleaning and doing laundry and then the in-laws arrived for dinner and we enjoyed a nice visit with them and facetime with our kids and grands!! A pretty nice Father's Day!! Today is catch up day here at the O and a bit of online shopping for a few things and hopefully some scrapping! You know that I will sneak in a bit of painting in there somewhere too LOL.

Chris - Hope you get everything all done for the Party!! Sounds like you had a very busy weekend! Sorry that the weather has been so yucky!! Wish you could send us some of that moisture, we sure could use it! Heather was sitting in the sun when she facetimed yesterday, but said more rain was on the way for her too! She is sick of the wet!!

Nancy - Yes we knew of the horrible injuries that the Bruins were playing with! We could not believe that Chara was playing with his terrible broken jaw! So how could we be disappointed or angry with them when they lost that final game! The hockey season is far too long and so many teams were out to hurt our players! Sounds like you had a nice weather day for a change and lovely walk with Luther! Hopefully today you will get the same!

Kay - Sorry you are feeling under the weather! Sure hope your sore throat goes away quickly, but good idea to have another PJ day and stay home!

Jean - Hopefully your gray and wet goes away soon and you get to see some sunshine! I plan on getting the final touches done on my turtle today at some point! Then will post a photo for you all to see.

Ok I better get in the shower before Heather and Hunter facetime this morning. Have a great Monday everyone!

good morning - The weather (funny how I always seem to start with the weather) is cloudy and we have now the humidity the summer is known for. There will probably be thunderstorms by the afternoon. Yesterday was a quiet Father's Day for my DH. He wanted nothing so they just gave him time which was nice. He wanted sushi for dinner. My son and he love sushi but it is not my favorite. But it was good - just the California roll. Today is a do nothing day.

Chris so glad you had such a nice time yesterday! Good luck with meal planning - you may laugh at this but my youngest son just told me "you can order food from a supermarket and then pick it up". He was so happy to share this. But then he realized he actually likes shopping and going through the isles to see the new stuff. He really does crack me up at time.

Kay so sorry you are feeling poorly! Do hibernate and enjoy you books. Feel better!

Trudy Jean Felis hope you all had a great weekend

Have a great day!

More gray today, but so far no more rain (but likely today and everyday this week). We officially have the wettest June on record and that's after only 16 days! But indoors things are fine. DH did H&S this morning and I did bills, but my studio is calling as I began putting things together for a new collage piece and I'm intrigued with the ideas there.

Chris, see, everything went fine yesterday. And they probably looked more at outside than in anyway. Hope you get some decent weather, but I'm thinking we aren't getting any. I don't normally mind a bit of this, but it is starting to get to me. Congrats to Cait on being such a good student!

Kay, wow, I sure wish you better health and soon. Sore throats are not a good sign and you keep getting them. Is it allergies or something else? Hope you do a warm, cuddly PJ kind of day and feel better.

Trudy, sounds like lovely times with the golf (and winning prizes!) and then ILs for Father's Day. But busy as you always are. Hope you do get time for painting today.

Hope it's the start of a good week for us all.

Nancy, we cross posted today, but seems like we're both starting off with the gloomy weather. Hope you don't get more.
