And the party is going on, it is Day Three! I hope that everyone's having a great time. I caved and posted in theDay 2 June 11 - Enable Me | GAME and look what I found:
mba600.jpg

I have to get this kit. Have to. I mean, there's a pirate hat and a bridal veil. if that doesn't sum up my two kids, I don't know what would. What would I do with it? Not a clue. But isn't it cute??
Darn it Linda, why did you have to host that game? :lol23:

How was everyone's weekend?

I spent most of the afternoon outside again, all of the leaves are raked into the woods now. It looks much neater than it did. For now ;) It's pretty wild out there. My neighbors own several lots behind us and there is a deck, a small boardwalk, and some "trails." Gary and took the dogs for a quick hike and it was like walking into another universe. Until you catch small glimpses of your house through the trees. heh
It didn't rain again and the forecast is saying no rain until possibly late this afternoon. Scattered showers. Ugh. What's the likelihood of it being scattered *here?* pfft.

It's a good day to work inside, I plan to make a big batch of dog treats. I also have to make a menu for Father's Day brunch that we are having here. I am not doing a big one like I did for Mother's Day. No way, that about killed me. Bagels, fruit, bacon, hashbrowns-- that's all easy and set. I have to make eggs or something. Does anyone have a make-ahead scrambled egg recipe or something similar? I'll make the vegan coffee cake again, but I am *not* doubling it. I am not making that mess again.

Scrap plans for me: Day 3 June 12 - Cheery O Scraplift | CHALLENGE I have my LO already picked out. I just need to scraplift it.

MeMeMonday
Oooh boy, what can I do for me? Put some music on and scrap :dance2:

Good morning. Didn't make it to the beach this morning. We were up early enough but Brian rode with Shaun down to Daytona for an appointment that Shaun had at Daytona State College. It's about a 40 minute drive to the main campus and Shaun has never been to Daytona and seemed a little stressed so I suggested that he have his dad ride along and he jumped at that opportunity! They have a satellite college in our town but I don't know how many of the classes that Shaun will need can be taken there. I'm just thankful that he is continuing to plug along on the degree path since he doesn't have anything else that he really wants to do.

My gum finally stopped bleeding yesterday. I am going to get an appointment with the dentist...I need a cleaning anyway. Still so many things to do around here...but we are getting there. Four more sleeps to Sydney! This week we have someone coming in to add drawer and cabinet hardware and mounting the TV to the wall in the living room. We also have the landscaper coming in to add the plants to the back of the lot. Things are starting to settle a bit!

The O is hopping with the party and I am loving it! I'll be back at lunch for personals!

It was a bit of a mess, but I think I got it sort of sorted. I'm an expert on exaggerating things. LOL
*points to your siggie* Yup, Urban is right.

@Su_Sanne There are days in the summer when I have to force myself to stay inside. I'd rather sweep my patio for hours than my kitchen once. I think we have lost @Nonni F to the nice weather too.

@bcgal00 I have every finger and toe crossed that the meds are working. Is it something that the meds can reduce the pressure or do they only stabilize it? The only case of glaucoma I have been "around" is when Caitlyn's rat had it and even the vet wasn't sure how a rat would react to the eye drops.
The double rainbow is a good omen for you, Sure it's superstition but I'll take it!
Hope you and the dogs had fun at the park.

SuSanne and Linda- that thought makes me really happy and wishful that it could have happened.

@BrightEyes No coffee for two weeks? :thud: The only time I didn't have any caffeine was when I was pg with Scott. With Cait, I limited it to one cup. I hope that your stomach will eventually let you enjoy a cup or so again.
Glad that you are taking it easy, you wouldn't want me to get my :whip4:
I can imagine that the house feels quiet after having your family with you for so long. Will any of them be coming back out to visit during the summer?

@Cherylndesigns Back-to-back challenges are a lot, but you are doing it... I am in awe!
The OOB challenge is so amazing, I really had fun with that one, and everyone's LOs are great.
Yeah, I wouldn't be able to live without cheese either (mozzarella stick grilled cheese sandwiches were dinner last night) but just about everything that Caitlyn or I have made vegan has been surprisingly good.
Tom doesn't drink at all. His dad was an alcoholic and died by suicide when Tom was 12 or 13. He has never touched the stuff. But A for vegans, yes they can drink, but some wines are filtered using animal products. There are brands that are vegan-friendly, you just have to look for them. Same with sugar, a lot of brands are made using bone char but Domino brand doesn't. I have a bucket of the cheap store brand sugar for us and a separate tub of Domino for Tom.
BTW- they are having wine/beer/1 signature cocktail at the wedding, Caitlyn said no way was she not drinking. :wine4:

@vickyday Oh my!!! I am so glad that you are ok!! That must have been scary knowing you were going down. How are you feeling now, any residual stiffness? Sometimes that happens the next day with car/bike accidents. *gentle hugs*
The time we got dumped from Gary's bike was very similar. We were following another bike back home. A car was making a left turn and almost hit the bike in front. He had swerved and then stopped short. Gary had to swerve to avoid the car and ran right into the stopped bike. we went down hard but thankfully, we were both ok. I should say- all three of us, I was pg with Scott but didn't know it yet. I still have a small scar on my elbow from where it got skinned through my leather jacket.
That's great that you are ready to get back on that horse too :D

xoxoxo!

The thumb is about the only thing that really bothers me. But I think the swelling went down some last night. At least it doesn't seem to hurt quite as much and I can use it a bit more! This, too, shall pass! The upset happened so fast I didn't have time to be scared, LOL!

Good Morning!
I woke up to :runningdog::poop::poop: so Asher has been banned to his kennel this morning! I hope that is not a foreboding of what the day is going to be like!

We got pretty heavy rain beginning yesterday evening and through the night, it is not raining right now but is still overcast, so the rain is probably coming your way, Chris @faerywings !

Finishing up another load of laundry this morning. Mark got grass stain on his jeans during the bike upset, so I'm washing a few of my things with those and then I should be done except for I have decided to wash dog blankets and towels today.

Trying to get things finished up so I can go to Ilene's tomorrow! ;). Today's Birthday challenge will be fun! Now to find a LO to scrap lift.

Have a great day!

Ladies I have really been out of it and missed the birthday celebrations, hubby had a reaction to his IV antibotics and we were in Seattle again on Thursday and Friday, good news is they took the pic line out and started him on an oral antibotic instead. Coming home on Friday I felt myself starting to come down with something and by Saturday I was sick, I did manage to attend grandsons gradution but spent most of the weekend in bed. I am going to try and do some stuff this morning I am praying for a better week.

Good morning ladies. I ended up hanging out with the dogs in the yard quite a bit yesterday and went to the dog park. We enjoyed the slightly cooler temps. Today we are back up to 90 today and will stay home in the a/c. The rest of the week won't be quite that hot so tomorrow I'll go to the dog park. I have started drinking a night time tea that hopefully will help with my sleep and tastes good so I figure that is a good before bed wind-down kind of thing to do. I also am taking a magnesium pill with the tea (doc recommended magnesium). I'm doing fine with my 2 morning cups of coffee and then switching to tea. I got an earl grey tea with vanilla and bergamot in it. I also got decaf keurig pods for when I want more coffee after my morning two. At bedtime I wear a heated eye mask for 10-15 min which was recommended by the doc for the eye dryness. I noticed yesterday that my eyes felt a little better, less pain and grittiness. Hope that is a good sign.

I'm going to look thru the dog photos and choose a bunch for printing out that will go into a collage frame that I'll hang in the dog room. I am also going to hang a few of my framed 12x12 LOs in there. I've been organizing in there and am having fun getting it ready for my book club mtgs. I'll host other parties there too, definitely a Xmas party. I'm enjoying the ladies in the group. I've already made a few friends that I've started hanging out with.

I'm hoping to scrap today. I would like to do the OOB and scraplift challenge.

@faerywings Your area sounds awesome for walks. It reminds me of the forest paths across from our old home where I would take the dogs off leash. That kit does sound perfect for you.

@vickyday Oh no...bad Asher! I'm going to go looking for a LO to lift too.

Remi is whining at me so I'll get outside for a bit with her before coming back to enjoy my second cup of coffee and maybe look for a LO to lift.

HAGD everyone.

Oh no Bernice...hope the oral antibiotics have him feeling better soon and that you too are recovering. Take care of both of you and get well. Don't push yourself too much. Get rest.

Morning everyone! I hope you have all been having a lot of fun at the Birthday Bash!! I had a very fun weekend at our High School Reunion! It was my 49th and for my DH it was 51 years. It was a very well attended reunion and it included 5 grad years 1970 to 1974. Our group were the babies of this reunion lol. It is so funny how some people from high school haven't changed much, older of course but their facial features are still the same. Other's have had total change in appearance and I would have never recognized in a million years!! I have to get some photos from others and I did manage to take a few myself, so that will be my project for the day. I would love to get caught up on the challenges here too.

@faerywings - Sorry that you did not get the rain that you needed, we had two days of steady downpour. It did help of course, but we are back to sunshine and warm temps for a few days. It won't take long to be totally dry again! I need to get caught up on some baking this morning also, not dog treats, just some egg bites for my DH for his breakfast. I hope you find something fun to scrap with that sweet kit you found in the "enable me" game. It seems to be perfect for your kids that is for sure!

@LSlycord - sorry you did not make it to the beach this morning! It certainly is a wonderful place to begin your day! Good that Shaun and his Dad are together for this trip! I hope that they have a great day together! Glad to hear that your gum has stopped bleeding and that you will be seeing the dentist very soon! It will soon be time for my cleaning too, I really must get back to flossing everyday LOL.

@vickyday - OMG it must have been a scary moment for you falling off of your bike! Glad you are ok except for your very sore thumb!! I hope todays ride is a bit more uneventful! Ugh on the doggy accident today!! We came home to a huge pile of :poop: on the middle of our front yard, not sure who around here would let their dog off leash to allow that to happen???

@bkasko - I hope that the meds help your DH to recover quickly and that you are soon feeling much better again soon!! Take care of yourselves!

@bcgal00 - Glad to hear that the meds are making your eyes feel better! Hopefully you will have good results with them! Yup the cooler temps were certainly welcome here also. Sorry that you did not get much in the way of rain, but then I think that is the norm for your area!

Ok I gotta go Heather is calling talk later!

Good morning all.

I'm pretty tired this morning, but it IS Manic Monday. Lalalalala I always sing that to myself on Monday morning and have since my working days - I always loved that song. You're welcome - now I probably have it stuck in all of your heads. :lalalala::floorlaugh:

Chris, I'm glad to hear that Cait put her foot down about having beer/wine/signature cocktail(s) for her wedding.
I've never heard of those brands of wine, but then, I'm not a vegan. We have several local wineries and their wine is so good. They always have a booth at the Farmer's Market. We keep saying we're going to go to a wine tasting at one of them but haven't made it yet. One of them is called Blind Luck and they have the most beautiful bottles. Casey brings me wine from there every once in awhile. She's in a wine club and gets it cheaper.

Vicky @vickyday sorry to hear about your spill. I used to be an avid rider until my sister was really injured in an accident. After that, seeing most of her skin scraped off, it soured me. I rode for a bit longer, but when I married Chuck, it had been a long time since riding. He had a 1300 Kawasaki - the fastest bike then in production. I rode with him a few times, then told him I was done. He sold his bike a little later on but he probably still wishes he had it. I never got back on "that horse". Roger recently sold his, too. There are just too many twisty turny mountain roads around here and lots of crazy drivers in their BIG trucks.

It's kept me busy with back-to-back "events" - when I took that second challenge over, last minute, I had no idea it was right after my Avatar Challenge! That's just a lot. I'm loving all of the great OOB layouts! Everybody is so creative here.

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like the reunion was fun and pretty much par for the course. Last one I attended, it was the same way - I didn't know who some wSere and some looked about the same. One of the girls that was so-so had had a lot of work done and we were all trying to figure out WHO she was. She looked great and stole the show. Of course, she looked NOTHING like she did in HS. Some of the guys were still just as goofy and one of them wore his letter sweater - why I never figured out because he had gained so much weight and he was literally bursting out of it. He was goofy in HS and still is - he happens to be my ex brother-in-law. :floorlaugh:

@bkasko sending you and your hubby get well vibes and glad you at least got to the graduation. Take it easy.

Linda @LSlycord It's SO close to Syd's coming home! I KNOW you can hardly stand the wait. Hope you get into the dentist today or soon. Bleeding gums (as bad as you had them) aren't good. That's pretty scary to wake up with a mouthful of blood!

Sending hugs to everybody - I need to get myself motivated here and figure out what I'm doing today. We had a nice, quiet evening - Adriene made chicken and noodles and she and Roger (No kids) brought it down here and we all 4 had a quiet, peaceful dinner around our table. We don't get to be alone (the 4 of us) very often so it was a nice change. They only brought
Lila, so the dogs were even low key. Marley is the instigator. LOL

XOXO

Good evening ladies! Another busy day...but it's good. Have a dental appointment on Wednesday morning. Wednesday is a busy day...the landscaper is coming, the people are mounting the TV, Hayden is getting groomed at a new groomer and I'm going to the dentist. Our driveway will look like Grand Central station. But didn't want to wait any longer than necessary to get the gums & teeth checked.

@Cherylndesigns I bet that you are exhausted...glad that dinner was low key! So much is usually going on but with the birthday party here, you needed a slow evening.

@taxed4ever I like that your high school reunion covered a span of 5 years. That would make it nicer to get together...there were always people in the grade above and below that were part of our friend group.

@bkasko I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I sure do hope that the oral antibiotics get him fixed up from here...and that you are back on the mend and 100% soon!

@vickyday that is so scary...that could have been so much worse. But God had you in the palm of His Hand!

@bcgal00 that bergamot and vanilla tea sounds delicious! I'm so glad that your eyes are feeling a bit better. I'm hoping that it is all good!

@BrightEyes if you pop in long enough to read, know how excited we all are to have you back here...even if only a few minutes.

Four sleeps until Sydney...@faerywings, I'm trying to hold off on switching to hours until it's under 100 hours...and I just calculated it. In 5 minutes, we are down to 95 hours left!!! dance3dance4:banana::cucumber::dancinglock: I'm sure that I will be here bright and early Saturday morning because I'm sure she will be sleeping late...unless the jet lag causes her to wake up on European time instead.

HAGD all. I think I'm going to the beach in the morning...so I'll probably not be here until tomorrow night!

@LSlycord Hope everything gets done tomorrow. We have the pool guys coming to put in the new liner (hopefully). With Kamloops you never know if anything will get done when it's supposed to, so we shall see if anyone shows up. Fingers crossed. It's getting into the 90's now so we need that pool ready :)
