GoooOd morning to everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was that strange version of time warpiness. Sat. seemed to fly by but yesterday was long and dreary and just plodded along. That doesn't mean that I accomplished much of anything, just that it felt like forever passed while I got little bits of this and that taken care of. I am much happier when I get one large project finished than a few little things, like laundry and cleaning the kitchen, that go mostly unnoticed.
Bagels with my parents were nice, but I am worried about my dad, he is so exhausted all of the time. Is it because he is going to be 80 this year? Is it something more than that? He goes to his Drs regularly (which is more than I can say for my mom :( ) and gets cleans bills of health from them. My mom filled me in on a couple of more details about the funeral. She had an aunt and a cousin die in the last year and apparently, no one told her. She thinks that they told my uncle, expecting him to pass along the news. What a jerk. But I suggested that she try her best to let it go. (I need to take my own advice sometimes! ha!!!)

I didn't get to scrap at all. I snagged a lot of photos from SIL's FB page but the mojo just isn't there. I was looking at this month's challenges and couldn't even get started with any of them.
We watched Episode 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and it makes me sad how it isn't funny anymore. I laughed out loud a couple of times, but the first two seasons, I laughed non-stop. This is the final season so I think we will finish it with hopes that it gets better at some point. We watched another episode of How to Get Away with Murder, and wow, that show is trippy with a lot of twists and turns.

Today I am off to my annual eye exam. I hope that my Rx hasn't changed because I still have 2 more sets of contacts to go through. I will use them up one way or another, but it always bugs me when I get a new Rx, see so much better and then have to go back to the old Rx to finish the box of lenses up. Hope that she doesn't have to do that crazy eye dilation exam like the last 2 times- what was wrong with my eye? Bleeding in the retina? I can't remember -- too much to keep track of.
Kinda off topic- but Gary's eye Dr said that his retinopathy hasn't changed in the last 6 months and he will see him again in 6 months to keep monitoring it. Great news! Whew!

Between the eye Dr and making menus for food shopping, my day is going to be full of making decisions-- something that I am *really* bad at lately. Good times! :pound:
Enjoy the day, whatever you have planned!

Trudy- yup, family sure is strange. So sad that you had to find out about Aunt Marion through an email. I hope that the family is able to spend time with her. Will Gary try to go too? Is she far from where you are?
That stinks about the rain delaying your yard work, but I think it is really sweet that you and your Gary sat on the porch and drank coffee instead. Isn't it funny how you can find any small project to distract you from the ones that you really do not want to do, like wash the windows? I do that all of the time even though I get more satisfaction from the big project-- when it is finished, that is :p

Felis- Nice but boring days can be very relaxing and fun too. Especially if you got to spend time with the fur-babies. Even though yesterday was making me feel "blah," I laughed al lot at W's antics. That dog is *strange* :pupkiss:
How sweet that Biggie and Hunter are best friends- sounds like he doesn't understand his size. haha!

Jean- My eyes are not rolling at all, I find your family history work so fascinating! Congrats on making the tree of that third sister. And then to possibly have some more overlap between your tree and the other genealogist. So much info in just a few days. How cool!!!

In spite of the dreary weather, I have been happy to be outside with the dogs, smelling the lilies of the valley. They get overgrown so quickly but they smell so pretty. Does the dogwood smell nice too?

Hope that Nancy has been having fun with her SIL and that Rae has good news to share about visiting with B. And that all of you have good things happening in your lives as well. ::grouphug

Happy Monday morning O-zies! It is a beautiful sunny morning, but so cool that we had to bump up the heat this morning :mmph: It is more like JUNEUARY, than JUNE! I will be happy to see the sun today though. Yesterdays visit with my oldest sister was very nice, my other brother Duane and his wife Sharon also came to dinner, I haven't seen them in ages either. They are very much older than me, so it seems like they are more like Aunts and Uncles than my brother and sister (does that make sense?) Anyway we did not get into the family history thing, my sister said the book is so heavy and big that she just didn't want to bring it along, so I will have to go over to Vancouver to see it I guess. Lots of catching up and chattering away, so it was still a very good visit! Today is my day to just do what ever, so I think I will try to find some shoes to go with my new dress that I bought for our trip to Paris. I don't have any really nice summer shoes. Other than that I have a page to post this morning. (Yes, I actually scrapped a page finally!) I should vaccum and wash the floors, but we will see. Its sunny out so I would love to spend some time outside in the garden. Maybe today would be a good day to go to the Nursery and look for those plants that I want to put in the corner garden.

Chris - I hope that your eye exam goes well and that your prescription has not changed at all. It seems that every single eye exam I have gone to requires those horrible drops to dilate the pupils. They don't seem to last as long as they used to or perhaps they are not as strong. I used to have to lie down and sleep after having them, but not anymore. I guess I should tackle that front room window today, at least get the inside cleaned and then leave the outside for DH to do LOL. I am sure that your Dad is feeling tired, because of his age and the fact that when you are older, you really don't seem to sleep very well at night. It is good that he at least goes for his regular visits to the Doctor! That is too bad about your Mom's brother being an ass and not sharing the news about the other relatives that had passed on! I hope that you get to be outside in the sunshine sometime today!

:hello: to everyone else who pops in today! Wishing you all a pleasant sunny day!

Good morning, ladies. The wkend flew by. We managed to get the dusting and vacuuming done which was long overdue. I didn't get a chance to roast root veggies for the week so will pop over to the store later this morning for veggies and do that this afternoon. B is enjoying watching movies with us, we saw 2 more movies yesterday with her. I brought her some chips cooked in avocado oil (Kettle brand) and she loved them. I enjoyed having a bit too as there was no canola oil in them. Yum. Have had chips in over 1½ years. I don't think I'd eat them often but a treat now and again would be nice.

Popped over to our local VV yesterday morning and stocked up on some jeans and long sleeved shirts for fall/winter (50% off sale yesterday). Got some amazing clothes (again LOL). I will donate about 1/3 of the jeans I've bought over the last 6 months b/c I lost a bit more in the waist area and had to drop down one more size. But since I've been buying everything so cheaply at VV I don't mind recycling the clothes a bit, they didn't cost much.

I'm making a big batch of spaghetti sauce later today to freeze for quick meals. Going to have that for dinner tonight (pasta for D and mushrooms/spaghetti squash with mine).

I never did get a chance to scrap at all last week but maybe this week it will happen. I have just been too tired to want to scrap during the few minutes I have here and there to relax and find that sitting in my chair watching TV or reading is more enjoyable. Scrapping just takes too much mindpower right now and I don't feel the mojo. I know it'll come back eventually though....I hope.....I think.

Chris - I need an eye exam too. I haven't gotten mine tested in over 20 yrs. I know I need glasses for both distance and up close now but keep putting it off. Sometime soon though I will take care of it and get progressive glasses (instead of just wearing readers for various distances). HTGAWM is one of my fave shows. It's always interesting and love all the characters.

Trudy - hope you find some shoes today for your upcoming trip. Yes, its really chilly and damp today. I know it goes without saying....but if you come here to visit your sister....you better let me know and meet up with me :)

I'd better get to work now. Busy day....what else is new :)

Hello ladies,
sometimes I'm very irresponsible, but Spontaneous needs to break the schedule. I had this song stuck in my brain and I had these lovely kits for so long, that I needed finally to scrap it. I have to reorganized my day so to have time to scrap more! Monday was very busy with work, but we put it on a side, so I scraped and my sister baked lovely coconut cake. Which make lovely afternoon. It's just SOO hot, that it's heavily. Of course after that I had to catch up all my tasks and never came here. :ranger:
Count me too in the fans of HTGAWM! Did someone is watch The Fall, with the lady from The X-Files?! British are best in describing of murders with meaning not just an action.

Chris, I'm on a opposite side, if you have To Do List is much more satisfied when you fill it with small projects and then watch all these checkboxes. This also not makes me so boring like one large project which will consume the whole day. Hope that your eye exam was good!
So sorry to hear for more loss in your family!

Trudy, your family visits sounds nice! And it looks like great plan to visit your sister and Rae at the same time, hope that you'll can make it soon! Did you found beautiful shoes? I definitely needs to do that too!

Rae, I'm happy to hear for your good time with Bailey! And I hope that this one more size drop down is because of your strict exercise (for which I admire you), but not because of all these nerves around the all troubles!

:cof1: Jean and Nancy!
