Oh wow, I cannot believe that it is June! How and when did that happen? Cait made a tracker on her cell phone for how many days we have been in quarantine and loves to quiz Scott if only too see how little time means these days. Yesterday was Day 79. Or was it 81? I can't remember either!

Let's do some neck rolls today. I don't know about you but I can feel the stress of the last few days (weeks/months!) in my neck for sure.
Breathe in and roll your neck slowly forward towards your chest. Slowly as you can to the left. And then back. Now breathing slowly still, take your neck over to the right and then down to the chest. Repeats to the left, back, right, chest... and now to center. One more deep breath in and out.
I hope that helped!

It is sooooo darn cold here. The sun looks very pretty but darn, it is freezing. I will take sunny and cold over the rain. Scott helped me get some compost and soil into the little garden on the lawn. I was able to plant the eggplants in there, and the patio tomatoes into buckets. I replanted some of the herbs too. Even if we don't get any produce from them, they make the yard look pretty. And I am happy tending them.

I needed dirt therapy after the 2 hours of discussion with my kids about the state of the US. We were discussing how Newark and Camden NJ didn't have any violence, the police marched with them. I didn't know this before yesterday, but Camden NJs police force was dissolved and reformed a few years ago. They are now trained to use force only as a last resort, they are disciplined when they don't follow that. They are back to being beat cops so they now know the residents on a personal level. I can't remember the stats off the top of my head, but the crime rates have fallen as well as the use of force rates. It can be done. Caitlyn with her academic background in Psych and several courses in Black and Cross-Cultural Issues suggested that police should be required to take classes in these areas as well as in sociology, focusing on groupthink. It makes me hopeful when I see them interacting on social media intelligently with others trying to educate but not lecture. And Leah, my heart melts!!! She and other artists on Twitter have been auctioning off pieces to raise money for different organizations that are helping the black communities in need or with bail money for the protestors. More hope and more love being sent out. It felt good to have a discussion on how we as white people can be allies and how to keep us (white people in general) from co-opting their movement. I am also glad that they are so willing to learn about the things that we didn't learn in school. The Tulsa Massacre, the bombing of Philly in the 80s, Rosa Parks *before* she sat in the front of the bus.Not to mention the entire Reconstruction.
I have to, have to, have to keep on looking at the positives, hang on to the hope or I will get sucked under.

(See- this^^ is why I didn't want to type too much the other day because I would have kept going and it would be been emotional and rambling and I would have yelled and cried and yelled some more and been in despair. Who needs that? )

At dinner, we were joking about how Caitlyn has to burn her Good Luck/Happy New Year socks. Their friend Sam got them NY socks (Ian, Scott's best friend, and his GF is Sam, Scott, Leah, and Cait) and 2020 has been a Hellscape ever since. We were talking about all of the utterly bonkers things that have happened since they all got the socks. Did you hear about the monkeys that attacked a lab assistant and took off with vials of COVID blood samples In India?? Burn the socks, Cait!!!

Cait is driving me to the food store to pick up our groceries and then this afternoon I plan to do some more weeding. I think that as long as it stays dry outside, we will have the fire pit going tonight.

Gratitudes:
-sun
-dirt therapy
-that you all put up with me!

Kay- did you get to see the baby on the screen last night??? Any photos yet??
I hope that you are feeling lots better both with coughing and the stiffness.

Trudy- how much more of the cabinets have to be done, still on track for the end of next week? This is a big project but it will be worth it! I am 100% with you that June brings peace and happiness too.

Jean- Same weather here-- we had two days of heat and I am back in sweats again. Thank you for joining me in spreading those circles of love!

Hugs!!

Hi, gals... feeling a bit better this AM. Yes, I did get a better night's sleep only woke up twice. Yesterday I napped for over an hour which also helped. Don't have any photos of the baby yet but got to see him on the family Video Chat. He is adorable! We got a big LOL as DD#3 says he has feet like my hubby - long and thin toes! We got a look at them and I think she is right. So it was a great chat time.

I have an appointment at the library this morning to pick up my reserved book and will drop off some mail at the Post Office as it is right next door.

So glad it is June and hope for a better month than May was. I see some fun June Challenges. Always love the new month and new challenges.

Have several things to get done before going to the library so this is a short post. The body is feeling not quite so stiff and sore today, thank goodness. Hope you all have a good day.

good day - I was absent all weekend but I tried to fit in the things that are important to me and to watch the news to try and understand. What gives me the most hope is seeing the police join the marches to show that there are bad police but that there are also police that are horrified by what they saw and want to prove that they want these men to face justice. I find it so unbelievable that the White House went dark. What a horrible signal to the us Americans. So I spent time with family. On Sat which started early as Luther was barking at something from 4:30 until I got up at 5:30. But at least the temp was awesome and there was high humidity, my DH and I went to the Park, picked up Luther meds and then my son called that he was bringing us dinner. It was from a seafood spot and it was delish. They love crab legs and it was so fun watching them crack the legs to get to the meat. Me not so much but I had shrimp which I love. Went to bed early and I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. But Luther was barking early again but least now I know why as I saw a fox trot down our street and into our neighbors back yard. My DH suggested we go up to a DeKorte Park so we called our son to see if he and his MG wanted to come. I cant tell you how happy it made me to have them join me birdwatching. And my son was so proud to help his girl find the birds and to know what they were seeing. There were baby swans and ducks too cute! And one of my favorite ducks - the Rudy duck. His blue bill is so obvious. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and low humidity. Walked over 2 miles. Luther loves it there. We then went to her home and had a Mexican lunch. OMgosh it was so good. Then came home. I have Disney+ and I was looking for something to watch. I have always been a Haley Mills fan and I saw that one of her old movies was available - the Moon-Spinners. I loved that movie as a kid and it was just as good now. Eli Wallach was good at being bad then as he was in later movies. So that made me happy. Again was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Today is another glorious weather day. Sun and fluffy clouds and temps in the 70s. We have already had Luther out for a nice long walk of over 2 miles. That makes me so happy. So maybe June will be a better month.

Chris I think we all hope this can be a turning point. No longer can these incidents be hidden with all the cell phones able to record. I too have had these talks with my boys and it is hard but not as hard as it is for Black Americans parents talks with their children. Enjoy your dirt therapy.

Kay so glad you are feeling better each day. So glad you got to see the new great-grand. Love that he has your husbands foot and toes. Have you ever read any of the CJ Box books. I like them a lot. Enjoy the new book from the Library.

Trudy glad you are still happy, you are enjoying the new look in your kitchen enough to finish it! LOL

Felis you are right shared pain lessen pain. Glad you are gettin your job back.

Hello everyone! I am very, very late getting in here and this is going to have to be quick.
This morning has been filled with a lovely face time chat with all of the grands and everyone is doing well. Then I quickly got the sanding done on the next couple of cabinets and then got morning chores done. Now I need to put on the first coat of paint and run out to the post office to mail off a package to Ontario. Then home to clean the bathrooms which never got done yesterday :mmph: Another coat of paint and then it will be time to start supper. Yikes where has the day gone?? I will catch up with all of you tomorrow as I really gotta get going. Oh online grocery shopping today too Yikes!!! I hope that you are all well and I will talk to you tomorrow!

Good morning girls!
I wasn't good and never came back past few days, sorry!
On June 1st, we celebrate the Children's Day (and yes my parents made us small gifts, even we aren't kids from long ago), all the cafeteria and even theaters are reopened, people are festive and talk how to save this summer and make new plans according to the new rules for social distancing. Everything is so bright and positive! So yes, it's kind of hard to believe what happens in US in the same moment. I hate how England and other countries take part in this situation, I feel it wrong to judge other country for its weakness! In my opinion we have to let US deal with its problems alone.
Oh and something totally ridiculous (again I'm not laughing on your president as an institution, but concretely on Trump as a person), did you listened Trump's speech about the greatness of american nation which is send people in space? L O L, I'm laughing so loud that my stomach hurt, as everybody knows Elon Musk's team. Kiko Dontchev of SpaceX is bulgarian, and also 2 other scientist are with bulgarian roots, and who know how many of the others team scientists are only 2nd or even 1st generation americans. The same man that build walls and speak against immigration, now grandstand with labor and knowledge of these emigrants.
But ignoring this, bravo! It's a big thing! And sad too, as we know how every colonization ends.

Chris, I saw in Instagram Leahs sale, so proud with this girl!
Burn the socks, Cait, please! I'm so scared something to not threaten my summer, so watching for every sign.
How was the camp fire night? Did you have real fire outside when it's so cold? Did there was the socks balefire?

Kay, great news about your body feeling better! And so sweet about baby's online debut!

Trudy, looks like you start the month begins with a bang! Is that have the same meaning in english?!, hmm, powerful, it's have to mean something as powerful, on full speed, at least we used it as a sentence for this. Anyway! Hope time to be enough and to have one satisfied day!

Nancy, what a lovely weekend you described! I'm so happy for you and the whole family!
Speaking about Disney's celebrities have you watch Zac Efron's movie "The Greatest Showman"? I just watched it and it's awesome! You have also Mr. Jackman in it, if Zac is not enough. What I'm telling, It's not possible Zac to not be enough , but anyway Hugh Jackman is always good additive!

Jean, your quiet weekend sounds good too.
