I am going to channel a bit of Sally/cellomom right now. It is Monday and the beginning of new month. Summer is officially underway. This means I am going to get out of my funk and work hard at enjoying myself. That doesn't mean that I am going to stop being angry at circumstances if I need to be. But I am going to focus on enjoying good things and practicing some self-care. Does anyone want to join me?

I was outside for an hour or so, weeding the side of the house that I don't see but my poor neighbors do. It was really humid but it didn't bother me. Gary, on the other hand- not so much. Poor guy. Scott had to work 12- 6 but was able to get in early this morning so he can get a lot of his work done before it gets to the hottest point.

I spent a bit of time (ok-- a LOT of time) working on a LO for Trudy's journaling challenge. I think that my hardest part is actually finding things that I am looking for in my stash. But it is started and I have a good idea of what I am going to write.

My neighbor called and asked if I wanted to come over and see the cutest thing ever. Their DD had a baby 2 weeks ago and she was visiting. OMG-- such a tiny little peanut!!! So darn cute!! She has 2 older boys, 10 and 14 IIRC so it was funny listening to her recounting how a girl is very different than boys when it comes to diaper changes LOL. I wanted to scoop her up but she was sleeping in her car seat and I know well enough to never wake a sleeping baby.
So all in all a good day.

Did any of you see the picture of MIL and me on FB from the protest? She tagged me in it but the only people that "liked it" were her friends. I was wondering if only her friends could see it. :noidea:

Today I am bringing Ravyn and Floyd to the vet. Keep your fingers crossed that Floyd's kidneys aren't getting worse since aren't able to give him fluids. We are hoping that maybe he is stabilizing and if we can get one infusion done a week, that will be ok with him and for us. Ray just needs a senior exam and some vax boosters. Poor thing will be traumatized the rest of the day.

Hugs!!!!

Trudy- Happy belated Canada Day! And oh YES! I wish you could adopt me. I heard a lot of chatter at the protest about how Canada is leading the way. If Heather's weather is like outs, it is truly the Hazy Hot and Humid summertime. That is awesome that the kids are "pool-hopping." Perfect summer activity.
I see that you are in the "New Month" way of thinking, me toooooo! I must do better with scrapping than I had been last month. I think I had pretty much checked out.
My soul feels much better today. My mom called to ask how things went on Saturday and she said that she was proud of me and could hear the difference in my voice, that my strength was back. Thank you and your Canadian fellows who understand that this is not what the majority of Americans want and are willing to stand with us. Yay Canada!!!!
BTW- a lot of Americans are getting a kick out how Canadians are reacting so politely to DT's trade war/tariffs. What a difference. SMDH!

Rae- I bet that little bit of time away helped a lot for all three of you. I am really happy that you were able to do that. Did you have a good visit with B when you got back? Did you smuggle scuffed up shoes across the border to sell tariff-free on the black market? You must have since that is what DT is telling everyone. Pfft!

Anyway, I should :tape:

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!

good morning and I am just back from a walk with Luther. While it is only 78 the humidity was 72% LOL. As Chris said hazy hot and humid. We are the middle of a heat wave. And I don't mind. My DH even turned on the AC in the upstairs for the cat. I opened the window at night so it can cool down then close it up for the day. Luther is so funny he so wants to go his walk yes when we go he is fine for the first couple of blocks and then the heat hits him and we slow way down. He is now down in the basement. Yesterday I was up early and my DH and went to the airport for me to have my Global Entry interview. It was quick and painless and I can now skip the lines on reentry to the US from over seas. I just have to put on hand in this machine and answer questions and I am on my way! Also does TSA precheck which makes check in so much easier. My sister is doing this to so coming back from Sweden should be simplified. Yesterday was free agent frenzy and the major announcement was NY Islanders star John Tavares is leaving the Islanders to go home to Toronto and play for the Leafs. Should be interesting to see where he fits in and how well that team does. It bothers me though when a player during the season at trade deadline says don't trade me and then becomes the free agent and decides he does want to leave mean his old team did get nothing for him. Seems a bit selfish. Oh well not my team and he is now out of my division. My team lost one of my favorite defensemen John Moore who went to Boston so maybe Trudy and her main guy can enjoy him. Summer sports are in full swing - world cup soccer matches, Yankees vs Red Sox baseball games, and now Wimbledon is starting and next weekend the Tour de France begins. And I have begun catching up on my MOPS (month of photos) project. March is done and now working on April.

Chris so glad you are feeling better. I cant believe this is July. Enjoy the weather. Hope things go well at the vet! Glad that Scott can get in early and avoid a lot of the heat! And of course always fun to see those newborns! Fun to see and hold and then give back LOL.

Trudy happy belated Canada Day! Did you go to fireworks? We have been hearing fireworks from neighboring towns all weekend. Luckily they don't bother Luther or the Shadow. Have fun with the extra day with the kids!

Rae so glad you all did so well at the trailer this weekend. You needed the time. Hope the visit to the hospital went well and the hospital staff did their job.

Jean so sorry saw the LeBron is now a Laker. Read the Cavaliers thanked him for bringing the one championship to Cleveland and they will eventually retire his jersey. Hope your weather is not a bad as sticky as ours.

Felis I am reading a new book Crazy Rick Asians. It is a movie that is being released soon and I have heard good things about the book and movie. And it is a trilogy so I have more books to read. I am going to have to read 13 Reason Why to see the differences.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... finally a nice morning so we can get the front porch stained and the furniture put back in place! Just enjoying a nice cup of coffee with DH before we head out to start the staining. Last night was very windy and so of course we are having to blow off all the debris from the trees and the backyard is a mess. I will be hitting that job later on today.

Chris - I did see your pic of you and your MIL! You looked so cute in your little summer outfit! Looked like it was a hot day! I hope that you don't find the journaling challenge to difficult to get done. I know that a lot of people have trouble putting their feelings into words, but it really can be liberating! I bet your page turns out fabulous! Yes us :canada: are a polite bunch LOL But we are like still waters, don't stir us up or watch out!! ya right :becky: So happy for you that you got to see that sweet little baby! Hard not to pick up, but you are right, don't for goodness sake wake a sleeping baby!! Have a wonderful day today!

Nancy - I hope you are not too mad at us Bruin fans for taking away your fav defenseman, hopefully we will like him as much as you do! Poor Luther, it sounds like it is way too hot for that big fella! Glad he has the basement to escape to! Heather and her family participated in the kids Canada Day parade at their little town, so cute to see them all decorated for the parade! I was with them last year for it with a very pregnant Heather hard to believe that Hunter will soon be one year old already! Enjoy your Monday!

Ok DH is waiting for me to get going on helping him stain the deck, of course I will be down on my knees to do the edges, his knees can't take that anymore. Only 8 more sleeps and we are off to Paris :bliss: can you tell I am getting excited!! :becky: I will catch up with the rest of you later on today!

Hello ladies!
I'm way too busy these days and I'm in crazy mood again :high5::dance::bump2: . Will write more detailed tomorrow or on the next day.
Just quick to say

Nancy, I'm excited about Crazy Rich Asians too! It's with Gemma Chan the actress from my favorite Humans. And because I have easier access to British movies I hope to be able to watch it soon after premiere. If you read 13 reasons I'm curious to hear your opinion, about this disgusting moment.

Trudy, I'm excited about the new challenges too, but have to take a photo for journaling page. And I don't hurry with scraping because want to see do I'll can buy something on the sale for 4th July.

I'll read and comment more detail later! Love you girls, have a wonderful summer week!
