My goodness, that last week was *weird.* It feels like just yesterday that I was saying I was off to PA while at the same time, it feels like ages ago. I really don't know what is happening here. LOL
How was everyone's weekend? It rained on and off all day which was good for me, I had no choice other than stay inside. I got the house somewhat tidied and food shopping started. And I scrapped two pages. Both are very different styles and I really like both of them. That felt better than all of the housework :D. Both kids were out so I didn't even have to cook. I had some leftovers in the fridge and Gary and I caught up on some TV shows together.

I hope that the weather dries out because our sump pump had been going on and off for the last 24 hours. Once the fog burns off, it should be nice today *fingers crossed* What that means in real-life terms-- not a clue.

Scott and Sam are going to PA tonight but I don't know what time he is supposed to be working. He had a search and rescue call last night around 11 pm and Gary wasn't sure what time he got back, only that his car was in the driveway at 3 am. I hope that everything turned out ok. I imagine it did or he wouldn't have been back, right?

OK my lOves, I am going post this, do some personal, and then catch up in the gallery :)

Good morning. Quick in and out from me. It's going to be a hot one! Which is what I say every stinkin' day.

But the flowers are looking good. The solar lights are looking good. I finished a layout last nght for a monthly challenge...now I just need to get it posted.

@Cherylndesigns lots of stuff to get ready for the move to school. I really can't believe it has been a year since the first time. And only a month until we move her back to her apartment.

@bcgal00 I hope that yesterday was a chill day.

@vickyday good morning!

@faerywings I sure hope that you are ready for a "normal" :floorlaugh: week this time.

HAGD all.

@Cherylndesigns Is there something in the air? Gary's restless legs et al. were awful last night. Sometimes, he has to arch his back so much that he looks like the letter C. It looks painfully contorted but he says it's worse if he doesn't stretch it. How were the cramps last night, hopefully, you didn't have them at all.
Bleachers and backs and butts are not a good combination at all. You are a good Cici (Icic*G*) for going at all :D
ha! I could have wrung out my tank top after working in that humidity too, it was disgusting.
Look into titanium if you ever put earrings back in. Tom also told us to not buy stainless steel earrings on Amazon. There are different grades of SS and some are fine but a lot of the cheap ones are not- he likened it to the same grade as car parts. Tom pierced the bottom two holes on one ear that had closed up on me a couple of years ago, so yes they can do that if you want.
Sorry to say your theory:
Maybe getting it done really young is the key.
does not work for Caitlyn. I had the pediatrician do her ears when she was a baby (that is frowned upon now) and she is allergic to just about every metal on the planet other than titanium. Her engagement ring is also titanium.

@vickyday did you enjoy relaxing on the deck and watching the birds? Sounds wonderful!

@bcgal00 Game night was a huge success I see! So nice to have some quiet pool time before the next round of friends come to visit. That's sweet that you are taking D out to meet new people, is he usually social? I know he had work friends but he must feel a little lost not having that nowadays.
Great news that Jen is getting a little more movement in her knee. It has to make such a difference for her to be able to walk

@LSlycord I love the way you describe your sitting area, must be such a pretty view outside. I hope that the birds and plants and flowers continue to bring you joy every day.
Really? An uproar over not bothering the nesting sea turtles? :notinfrontofthekids:
I always listen to books or podcasts when I am cooking too which makes some of the boring tasks go faster.
When does Syd go back to school? I know I asked and am pretty sure that she is about the same distance in this house, no farther?
My parents' lake house is close to Lake Wallenpaupak, in the northeastern part of the state. It's very pretty up there. They bought the house in 1998 for $100,000. Of course, that's only a few years after we bought this house for $117,000. According to Zillow, ours is worth over $400,000. (yeah right!). The house is in a small lake community which is half permanent residents and half vacation.
Hope that the weather chills itself out for you and soon!

@BrightEyes Yay to sleeping in, boo to the heatwave.
That must have been a huge relief that DD#2 house was ok, although it must have been awful with no electricity.
So happy that you were able to talk to your kids and feel the love.

Cheryl- Sorry to hear that Ava's matches weren't winners. But if I know anything about Ava, she is going to go over that video a bunch of times and find ways to improve.

Ugh, I'm running late and I don't really care but I better get going...

I did enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the few birds that showed up. I need to fill my feeder to get them coming back. But I need to clean the feeder first.....I hate that job! I got some pictures of a hummingbird and bluebird in the trees. Love seeing hummers relaxing on branches of the trees.....once I can find them in the camera. I watched and listened to my audiobook while Mark was watching races on TV. I can only take so much of it, LOL! Fortunately, there was a fairly decent breeze and the humidity was not as bad as it has been! I spent about an hour out there before the sun got low enough to come in on me.

Good Morning OOsies!
My GD is coming to spend some time with us this week. Not sure when she will be here today. She was very close to her papaw that passed when she was barely 6. I have pictures of her holding his hands to "help" him walk when he got really sick the last couple of months of his life. Hard to believe that was almost 6 years ago already!
Not much going on here besides that. I will probably take Abby to the grocery store to stock up on pizza, etc for her to eat while she is here, LOL! She is as tall as her big sister who will turn 19 next month!
I was able to download PSE15 that I purchased from Adobe online back in 2016. I now have it on my windows laptop and PSE2023 on my mac, which I purchased via Apple.
I want to work on an AnnaLift challenge sometime today. Not sure when that will happen with Abby being here. She likes to play games. She also likes to play Rummikub on the app, so we will probably do that some today. She is old enough (12) that I don't have to be doing something with her every minute of the day. She likes to sit in papaw Mark's chair with Asher in her lap. He likes that, too, LOL!
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out to the dog park in a bit. Thunderstorm this afternoon with a bit of rain which won't be much (it never is here) but hopefully no more fires from lightening strikes. We had a lot of smoke and pink sky last night. It burned my eyes so didn't go out in it much with the dogs. Today the air is better.

We played 7-Up card game last night after dinner. We played in the media room to help the dogs learn that we ae sometimes in there for other reasons than play time with them.

Today I need to contact the travel agent to pay the remainder on the fall cruise. It is due next week so want to get that taken care of in the next few days. Then I need to start booking tours in Barcelona and Rome.

Today will be a quiet day, after the busy wkend, looking forward to scrapping, reading and puttering around the house.

@faerywings D is very social when he is around people, he can talk to anyone and always makes people feel comfortable but he not an instigator, doesn't put himself in situations to meet new people. When I take him to the Heritage House afternoon game drop-in he will enjoy himself and chat with everyone but he would never had set it up by himself. So we work well together, I find friends and he then gets along great with them :)

I've got an abundance of blueberries so I might make some muffins this afternoon. I only have one left from the last batch.

Time to get one more coffee, get dressed and head over to the park. HAGD everyone.

Morning, all. Have you ever designed pages in your mind when you are trying to fall asleep??? Had that happen last night as I was trying to go to sleep... it was midnight the last time I looked at the clock. UGH!!! I woke up early (8 AM) so am sure I will taking a nap later on today. I dug out Bill's Navy Album and found the photos and story that I was trying to design in my mind last night. Will work on this week.

DD#1 called yesterday. She, her daughter and 2 granddaughters took a "Girls Only trip" to Disneyland last week to celebrate her daughter's birthday. They had a fun time. Looking forward to seeing some of the photos they took. After looking at my Aunt Mary's photos last week and seeing some photos from my 1st cousin, Kathy (1 year younger than me)... I decided to call Kathy and talk about them. She would spend 2 weeks to a month in the summers visiting with us. We talked for almost 2 hours recalling those memories and other family stories. "A picture is worth a thousand words" but the stories about the photos really need to be written down too. Now there is only myself, Kathy, my younger sister and 2 second cousins alive who remember the family stories. Decided I am going to prioritize which photos/stories to work on that are "turning points" or unusual events/places in our family.

Good afternoon all,
Well, yesterday beat my behind. I thought I did really well, but I guess I was more tired than I even knew, I had a terrible time with my feet and legs, Chris @faerywings and SOME restless legs. They started early, so I took my pill (Pramipexol) about 8 and that helped. To be on the safe side, from all the walking, I took 2 Potassium pills before bed - worthless. I slept for about 4 hours and my feet woke me up literflly twisting and when I tried to get out of bed, I could barely walk. I took another Potassium and went back to bed. Slept until about 9 then gave up. It's not going on 3:30 and I just got up from a 3 1/2 hour nap. You KNOW I'm tired when I take a nap. I slept soundly too. At least my legs and feet aren't cramping anymore. I wore some newish shoes and I think that's what made my feet cramp so badly. That stadium is brutal - we've been there once before and it's huge and there are lots of people there and simultaneous matches going on so we had to park a mile away. Adrienne wanted to drop me off but I said no, I was going to walk if she had to.

Then we had to pay $15 EACH to sit upstairs, or $30 EACH to sit on the floor! (We had forgotten that part of it) - It was 4 long, steep flights UP and then many, many steps DOWN to get to our seats. It's like a big bowl. I think I'll pass on the next one that's there. My "dogs were barking" so badly by the time we got home that I could barely walk into the house. I kicked my shoes off on the porch. So that's my story from yesterday
'
Has Gary ever tried medication for his RLS (Back, arms, neck)? I swear if I didn't have this stuff, I'd never have a decent night sleep again. I'm starting to realize that heat, plus exessive walking in the heat must trigger these horrible let and feet cramps I've had the last two nights. We walked a lot in the heat on Saturday, too.

Well, I'm worn out now after the book I just wrote about my last day so I'll try to come back and do some personals. :banghead:

Normal? What exactly is that? I'm assuming whatever it is it's overrated or hard to come by.. since I'm clueless. ;)
Mostly weekend here, but the sun was kind enough to let me get mowing in during a brief period on Saturday. Sunday was spent inside, with three separate tornado warnings. Thankfully nothing touched down.
Oh, no @Cherylndesigns more horrible leg cramps? Ugh.
@BrightEyes Kay, that phone call to your cousin sounds fabulous. Nothing like sharing stories with cousins. My grandmother was #19 or 20 children, and I remember summers when they would get us all together. They pretty much rented out an entire cabin campground for all of us. I still remember my great aunts around the campfire trying to teach us all the old French songs they sang as children.
