happy happy Monday my O-Fam!
Did I ever tell you how much I loooove coffee???? heheh!!

we pulled off the birthday party yesterday w/o a hitch! My mom was very impressed with the china and kept saying how she noticed that i washed all of the wine glasses. They hang in racks over my island and tend to get dusty. But I washed them for Christmas darnit! And she didn't notice then? And why would it be that surprising? Jeez, you'd think I was a lazy slob or sumthin"
LOL

The coolest part of the day was when we went through some old pictures that she has from when she was a little girl. She has stacks of negatives and my scanner can scan them. I never used that before (the negative trays) but I did one and it was amazing! My uncle was about 3-4 years old standing in front of a "Honor" wall with the WWII soldiers names engraved. Guess what i am doing today??

I was also able to get a picture of the whole family, cait set the camera on the timer- took three tries and a photoshopping of scott's head onto a different shot (really!!! LOL) but we got a good one. The best one was the last, but by that point poor little Christopher had had it and was crying.

Me me Monday:
I am going to clean this house as quick as I can so I can scan those pics and neg's!!!

xoxo

Fran- how is your ear feeling today? And that's so frustrating about your mom, 1 step fwd, 2 steps back. Hoping that she recovers from the pneumonia quickly.

Linda S- thanks sweetie! Good luck with work.

Trudy- I am going to have to check out your page! woot for finding your Mojo!

Eva- because Scott's Lyme (actually the majority of all Lyme cases) are neurological, he had been tested and screened for so many disorders. But nothing ever came up except for some Cognitive processing Disorder. I think he is just one of those kids whose head is in the clouds, thinking up things the we mortals just don't get LOL
Actually he has come up with several ideas of things to invent that just amaze me. But I see that you can relate to the hate school/high intelligence. Its so frustrating, isn't it??

To everyone ::grouphug

Monday! Yay! .............. Nope ... could'nt fool myself  Neither me, nor DH slept well this night - the furry monsters were crazy all night. When I woke up I realized why, I was sleeping with one of their favorite toys in my bed. :mmph:

DS was still awake when we got up - he's been on Skype/Steam all night. He just went to sleep - it's noon here. Teens!!!

Sitting here with my 3rd mug of coffee :ranger: Hopefully I will wake up soon. At least I've gotten one load of wash in the washer + loaded the dish washer. When DH get home from work, it'll look like I've been a busy girl LOL

DH back to work now - first time since before Christmas! He had vacation between Christmas & New Year's. Then he was home sick all last week. He was a bit rusty this morning. (Not sleeping well wasn't really helping). And he was NOT happy to walk to work today - it was -15°C when he went. That's 5°F. I just hope the pain won't return. It's worse when he's getting cold. Plus he's not been walking that much for 2-3 weeks.

Dinner plans: tomato soup and some kind of spring rolls. Not sure what it will turn out like. I have some ground beef thingy I got in the freezer + filo dough. Never done it before, we'll see if it will be edible LOL

But nothing ever came up except for some Cognitive processing Disorder. I think he is just one of those kids whose head is in the clouds, thinking up things the we mortals just don't get LOL

He's like me then ;)
When I was tested they said I've got traits of ADD and traits of Asperger's, but not enough of either to get a "proper" diagnosis. But all together I have enough traits to have problems with my everyday life. I ended up with some fuzzy kinda diagnosis "clinical neurological problems" ... or something like that.

All my nephew said was: "You can't even be disturbed in a normal way!"

true, true. :bounce:

I'm just waiting for some scientist to find my disorder

LOL Eva. Love your nephew's quote! Hope your husband makes it through the work day ok. Sounds like an awfully cold walk, especially when you don't feel well.

Chris, your mom's comment made me smile. Love that you got those old negatives! Can't wait to start seeing those layouts.

Good morning to the rest of you. I'll try to drop back in tonight. However, Shaun has a swim meet so that will eat up most of the evening.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all - quick stop in to say hi on my way to work- glad I get to drive and not walk. I got my treadmill walk in. I made red beans and rice from the spark peoples cookbook last night- yummm- that will be my dinners instead of boxed quickies- because now these are quick. I also made multi-grain rolls and will use that for my sandwich for lunch. I am really getting excited about cooking- trying new things- giving new things a chance- giving change a chance- (sorry for the ramble-must be too much exercise!)

Eva, i once made Taco thingies with filo dough. cooked ground beef, spices, refried beans, cheddar cheese, roll, bake. and yum! you can also put omlet stuff inside filo, roll up, put a little cheese sauce on top, bake. my husband actually commented on each of those and said he LIKED them!

no idea what i'm up to today, except a fast trip to the grocery store.

have a lovely, ladies.

Hope your ear is ok, Fran!

And it's all about perspective - when you are in a waiting room - or when you stand in line in the stores or whenever/whereever you wait for your turn ... think of it as a break. There are very few moments in life where you don't have to do anything - enjoy the break. Let your mind wander. You have a mini-vacation from your hectic life. No one expects anything of you other than sit or stand and wait for your turn ... it's fantastic when you think of it like that. :)

Good Morning ladies... Happy Monday?? All mixed up now that I worked on Sunday. Did not have to work all day like planned and got to come home around 2:30. There were too many of us and not enough palm pilots to get the Inventory counted, so they sent some of us home early. I was one of them, yippee!! Full day of work today and then off on Tuesday.

Chris - Glad your Mom's party went well! Sounds like you will have a great time with all of those negatives! I have copies of all of my Mom's old photos and Grandmother's photos too, love all the WWI and WWII photos! I keep thinking I should make a family heritage scrap book, but I have so many other projects that I also want to do. Looking forward to seeing your layouts!!

Eva - Sure hope that the Doctors figure out what the heck is wrong with you!! LOL
Hope your hubby is feeling better and that the walk will do him some good and not make him feel worse.

Laurie - Good for you for getting your walk in already! Have a great day at work, I am sure you will feel energized all morning because of all your excercise. That's what I should be doing instead of sitting here at the computer. I have no discipline I'm afraid.

LindaS - Enjoy your day and have fun at the swim meet! Perhaps we will see you in here later.

Phylis - I hate going to the grocery store! Don't you just hate the cost of having to feed our bodies!! Think of all the money we would have if we didn't have to eat!! Oh well if we didn't have to eat, it would put a lot of people out of work wouldn't it!! Have a great day!

Fran - Sounds like you made a good choice to stay home today! Your tonsils must have some kind of infection if there are white spots on it! Hope you get some good meds and start to feel better soon!!

Well better hit the shower and get to work, hope to pop in here later today!

Good morning ladies!! I have to rush...as usual. Ugh!! Gotta start getting Addie ready for school. This weekend I took the kids to use of their Christmas dough!! Addie brought home a loot and I even made her buy some plastic bins to keep stuff in. So she's been playing with her stuff all morning but she actually organized it...it is organized in 5 year old fashion...but still organized so I'll take it.

Okay gots to run. School starts in an hour and we are both still in jammies. I am not like some of the other moms who drop off their kids in my pajamas. I was reading something about mommy confessions and one lady had written that she wears pajamas all day until 10 minutes before her husband comes home. I thought that was funny and something I could see myself doing on a occasion and if I thought about it, probably have done. Not very Fly Lady friendly. LOL!!

If I can I'll hop back in here for personals. Love you guys!!

Hi Ladies!
Popping in to say hello :)

I just got home from Imke's swimminglesson. Gosh it is hot inthere!! I'm always exhausted after a day work and rushing to the swimmingpool and to home again.

I've read something about tomatoesoup and springrolls!? Yummie!!!
I started my diet today! I gained 3 kg since christmas! And i need to loose even more!!

I need to go again. My sister is here, she is going to choose a few other pictures for our book from our grandmother.

Hey girlies! Just popping in to spread some Monday cheer!!! :) A fresh start for all!!

and my house is almost completely an empty palette again after all of the Christmas stuff has been put away. It's all in their boxes, but the boxes need to be put in Cora's extra closet.

I've started my battle mode for school today. we already have one casualty...poor Emma...it's the first day back after a 3 (or was it 4) week break and she didn't know mom was going to be ready to fight to get all of her work done and done well!! eek!! Some things we moms just have to fight for!!

okay, off to make sure the littlest does her work well, and that I get two more quilts in the works to quilt! yay!!! :)

love you all!!

:cheer2: yay! :cheer2:

I'm happy now! Just won an auction at a Swedish auction site - got me a CHEAP laptop. Nothing fancy, but I'm happy anyway. This is a dream/plan I've had - I need a computer without internet and without games - just to use for writing. It's a life long dream for me to write, I wanted to be a journalist when all other girls wanted to become princesses LOL

Now I've got a lap top - will sit in my library and write a best-seller :typing: - get stupidly rich and travel the world and meet all my O'family :flypig:

:lalala:
Don't wake me up - let me dream ... :bounce:

Back from the doctors' visit, EVA I'm happy to report I didn't have long to wait so was unable to test your theory....

Bottom line - have ear infection and possibly the start of pheonmonia or broccitos (sorry I'm a horrible speller). So I am on mega antibotics and need lots of rest......so I"m resting on line....hee hee....seriously I have a serious headache going on right now.

Back for a few minutes. We are at the meet and everyone is warming up. Have I told you how much I love an iPad with wireless? Frank, glad that you got to the doctor when you did. Hopefully the antibiotic will stave off the pneumonia.

Eva, great news about the cheap laptop. Oh Sally.I hate the homework battles. Especially since Shaun is not totally convinced that I am doing it for him. How old. Is Emma now?

Yvonna, I am at the pool now and the bleachers are packed. The heat and humidity is awful. And, for some unknown reason, Syd insists on sitting on my lap.

Clara, I wish Sydney would do some of that organization. Her room is a disaster most of the time.

Hi Trudi. Hi Phylis. Hi Laurie. Hope everyone had a good day.

Afternoon everyone...Our last day in San Franciso, and it's been a good trip. Dashing out for an early Indian/Pakistani dinner then to get some food for tomorrow's airplane.
ALL day in the air...Phylis, you mentioned lots of freq flyer miles. Not quite the deal on Southwest. Somehow we never get enough in a short period to qualify. Otherwise, we do have a bit of a stockpile with Continental. It all helps!

Weds I look forward to scrapping and dealing with a bunch of new photos. Good fun ahead!

love to all of you here...do be well and take care of your important and valuable selves. M.

Oeh yeah! I know how good that is, an iPad with wifi!
In the NL it is a bit difficult sometimes. Because there are not so many places which provide free wifi. But there are coming more and more public places with wifi.
I take my ipad to work everytime. So I can read during my break LOL

Maureen, you are allreadimg heading home? Sounds so good about the indian dinner.
