Holy Weather Changes here! And schedule changes. This might be the first week of "normal" in a month and a half. Eep.
*mutters to self-- normal?? What the heck is normal??*

Yesterday it was supposed to get warmer and the freezing rain was supposed to turn to plain rain. But I don't think it got over 30*. Thankfully, up here it was just drizzly b/c south of me I heard the roads were just sheets of ice. Right now it is in the 40's. And over the next several hours- it is going to drop: tomorrow-- high of 8*F! Wind chills- -20* My poor old bones and muscles are really not happy. I don't know what is worse, the actual cold or all of the ups and downs.

P- you asked about what was in my micro-heat packs. I have three different ones and I think that they have some sort of grains and herbs? I micro-ed one once and burnt it up big time. omg, the smell!!! :fear:

Off to work today and then all of my crazy phone calls and catch up on life I didn't do yesterday. As much as I adore my fam all being home, I need some sort of schedule for my own scrambled-egg of a brain. I swear, I must have walked in circles for over 10 miles just in my house yesterday! bwuahaha!!!

Hope that you all have a wonderful Monday, that feels like a Monday. But in a Sally-Monday Way.
(Didja get all that? :D)

Love you!!

trudy- you are reading Life after Life? What is that about? I am reading Takedown Twenty (I loooove Stephanie Plum-- no matter how many times, her car gets on fire or she almost gets killed- she is the best LOL). My MIL got me a book for Christmas, How to Chase in the Rain... or something like that. It is written from a dog's POV and I just don't know if my emotions are good enough to handle it. You all know how animals, esp. dogs, are my weak point ;)
I have to start a new What are you reading thread for 2014. *note to self*

Phyllis!!! Congrats on your G-DD!!!!! Happy news!!!!! I hope that this darn weather cooperates with you so you can get in lots of baby snuggles with her!

Nancy- what is up with your Devils? I think you need to give them a good talking to.

Trudy- how are you feeling today? COld all gone? How was your day with the fam? Are they staying log?
Yes, you really need to find a way to sell those painting projects. you are so sooo talented.

Laurie- hope that your internet stays running. Have a good day/week back at work too.

Hi Sandra, Sandy and Nixen! And everyone!!!

Brrr good morning O fam. I waited all day yesterday for the rain snow line to move, nope, not till late at night. It is not light enough to see how much snow we actually got, I am guessing under 2" It is definately cold though. It was 35 when I went to bed,and 10 when I got up. That means the windchill is under zero and our schools/colleges are all closed. However, not my job. So I will head off to work. I am sure that hardly any if any of my patients will show. Maybe I will call to see if any are coming in, and take time away pay for low census.

'morning. this weather is wrecking my brain! rain last night, snow-ish this morning. falling temps to below zero. I CAN'T TAKE IT!! i have to drive into the city tomorrow and the high is going to be 2 degrees or something equally grim. :hurt:

Chris, i'm with ya on the chaos. except i have NO excuse. i'm home alone during the day. no one to mess with my schedule but ME!

today? dunno. some housework is in order, i think. woot.

hope everyone is feeling healthy and happy. Trudy, hope you're feeling better every day. i'll be back later to see what everyone is up to. :becky:

Hi, Laurie. i hope you get to stay home!! isn't this weather BAAD???
You know it is cold, when your heat is up to 68 and your wearing your long johns, long pants, double shirts, socks and shoes and you are still cold. Hubby just called me because he has to travel and said, don't go, the roads are a mess. I will update as I hear from work.

Morning all my poor freezing cold friends!!! It is chilly here today too, but not half as bad as most of you are expecting or already have today! It is very frosty here this morning and our driveway is a slippery slope so we made DS park his car in the garage so his family did not have to slide down the hill to their car rental this morning. Yup everyone is gone again already, a short but very sweet visit as they are now on their way to catch the plane home again. Lots of great hugs and snuggles with the grandkids last night and this morning, but grandma had a hard time fighting back the tears as everyone left!! :hurt: I won't see them again until this summer.

Chris - Brrrrr that is cold for you, Heather was telling me this morning how cold it is going to get for them later on tonight too, I don't think that they are really that far away from you, just a was North, but I think you get much the same weather as they do. The book I am reading is about a young girl who can see into the future and how she changes some of the things that can happen to her and others close to her. Here is a bit of what it is about.

Here is Kate Atkinson at her most profound and inventive, in a novel that celebrates the best and worst of ourselves.
What if you had the chance to live your life again and again, until you finally got it right?
During a snowstorm in England in 1910, a baby is born and dies before she can take her first breath.
During a snowstorm in England in 1910, the same baby is born and lives to tell the tale.
What if there were second chances? And third chances? In fact an infinite number of chances to live your life? Would you eventually be able to save the world from its own inevitable destiny? And would you even want to?
Life After Life follows Ursula Todd as she lives through the turbulent events of the last century again and again.
I am about half way done and it is proving to be quite a good book! Oh and yes my cold is pretty much gone, thank goodness!! Thanks for the chicken soup!

Laurie - Well I sure hope that you get to stay home today and do not have to try to navigate those slippery roads!! Hope your hubby is staying safe too!! Keep warm today!

Phylis - I sure hope that you guys do not have to suffer too much longer with this darn cold winter you are having. Perhaps a trip to the Bahamas is in order, if you would just get on an airplane
gaah-smiley.gif
come on you can do it!!!!! Just think warm sunshine, tropical drinks and NOOOOOO SNNNNOOOOWWWW!!!! Perhaps you could pick Chris up on your way? I would join you too!!! :becky: we could get you plastered before the trip maybe that way you wouldn't even know you were on a plane LOL!!

Ok I have lots of beds to strip and lots of laundry to do today, bathrooms to clean and so on. I know it won't all get done today, but I will at least get started with it! Have a great Monday everyone and stay warm!!

Well, I am home, I am not going out. I still need to call my tomorrow people to see if they are coming in. I did get a phone call that I had one a cruise to the Bahamas! Yeah right. I have renewed my therapy license. I am getting ready to eat a warm lunch and then tackle the clutter.

Chirs - I LOVE Stephanie Plum! I've read all of those including the between the numbers and all of Janet Evanovich's other books too! I'm waiting on another in the Wicked aka Diesel series *swoon* Stephanie Plum and her family and friends just crack me up! Love Love Love grandma!!

we could get you plastered before the trip maybe that way you wouldn't even know you were on a plane!!

ha! Trudy, all that would do is ensure that i would puke on someone's shoes. how are you feeling? (other than sad that all the kids and grandkids have gone home?) have you recovered from the cold/flu thing?

Andrea, i'm going to have to look into Stephanie Plum!

Laurie, i have the feeling it's going to get a LOT colder in my house as the day goes on. so far, the wood stove is chugging along and i'm feeling kinda warm. i'm still running around in my PJs, and i'm not freezing yet. YET!

it snowed all morning here. NOT in the forecast, BTW. i decided to reschedule my Dr. appointment to MARCH! i can't stand this weather uncertainty. today and tomorrow there was supposed to be NO snow. just freezing cold. i don't trust them. i'm STAYING HOME! honestly, i am SUCH a Winter Wimp. i act like i grew up in Florida and just moved up here. NOT! my entire life has been here! you'd think i'd be battle tested by now....:hurt:

Phylis - No throwing up on the :plane: :puke: I am feeling much better, except ya I am very sad that everyone has gone home and now its just me during the day rambling around in this big ole house!! :pout: You are not a winter wimp, you are just smart enough to stay off of the roads in the winter and not trust the weather man EVER!!!! :becky:

Trudy I LOVE being alone in the house  I can do whatever I want whenever I want! Don't get me wrong, I love having Jacob here and Brent here but those alone moments rock too!

Phylis those books are so so funny!! I laugh all the way through them and they are easy quick reads. I usually read one in one day if I have the down time for it. It's like damsel in distress turns PI and makes a muck of everything! But her and her sidekick Lula have me laughing so hard all the way through and trying to decide which of her love interests in the series is right for her is part of the fun too.

whew... just got home and it's been a long, FREEZING day... seriously, I can't remember ever being so cold in my life! On top of that school is cancelled again tomorrow and instead of meeting me at the Marathon which my ex-husband has to drive right past on his way to work, he wants me to drive all the way out to the school which is insane.

I'm seriously trying to work on challenges, but I haven't scrapped in so long I'm totally stuck and getting extremely frustrated... I'm going to give it another go tonight... keep your fingers crossed.

Chris - hope you managed to get some stuff done today :) 10 miles? shew, I'm tired just thinking about it lol.

Laurie - I know what you mean... my work wasn't closed either and its icy out... thankfully I did manage to get stopped before completely sliding past the stop sign this morning or otherwise me and the children would have been in an accident with another SUV!

Hi Trudy, Phylis, Andrea, and anyone else I missed!

Laurie - I got that same phone call yesterday!!! Ha, Ha, I have won that cruise at least 6 times now!!

Andrea - I always enjoyed being alone in the house, it's different when the kids have all grown up and have moved far away. Now I only get to see them a couple of times a year :hurt: I want them to be closer to me!!!!

Sandra - Ughhh it sounds absolutely ghastly where you are! Stay home and keep warm!!
