Welcome to another new day/week/month/year! And how will this new day/week/month/year begin? In my house, it is starting with snow and an OCD husband. ;)
Gary worked non-stop in Caitlyn's room yesterday and the floor is down (and I am so jealous, it looks amazing. I want it *everywhere.*) When I woke up to a few inches of snow, it was already in my head that I was going to shovel so he didn't have to. Except, I wasn't figuring on the fact that the nails he ordered from Amazon aren't here yet and he needs the nails to reattach the molding on the floor. The nails will be here today but not until the afternoon. He decides that he is going to the local hardware store at 8 am but starts shoveling the snow. I said that he should just do the little bit to get the car out but nooooo, he has to do the whole thing. I went out to help him and it really was silly that he refuses to listen. Men. Harrumph.

ugh- now he is trying to call me but his phone isn't connecting and I am trying to call him- same deal. I texted him that I am assuming he is on his way to Lowes. Dogs are barking now-- I bet he is home LOL

yup, he is home, thanks to our advanced doorbell security system that doesn't discern between family, friend, or foe for the alert. :p

So yeah, my day is off to an interesting start. This makes me a little skittish that I have to deal with the Shop Rite website this morning. I had no luck yesterday. It is now canon that I have to share the weird search results on the site with whoever is within earshot. After trying to put stuffing my cart, the website kept timing out and then was down for the rest of the day. I wonder how many bananas and avocados will be in the cart today? Less than 18 or more?

That is the big thing today and then if the floor is 100% finished, I will help Caitlyn move her stuff back. We never got to do any of the puzzle because she had to prep a Worms with Perms shipment - 12 more on their way to new homes- so I help her pack and label the boxes. They are so adorable and I love how she adds an adoption certificate with them. She is clever.
Since everyone had been working hard the last couple of days, I made the ultimate in comfort food dinners-- scrambled eggs, hash browns, and homemade cinnamon rolls. I had saved the cinnamon roll for last which was a mistake because then I was too full to fully appreciate it. I am having one for b-fast and I can't wait. I somehow outdid myself :hungry: LOL

That's it-- wish me luck that the weirdness of the day is over and done.
(Considering all of the news that broke yesterday in the US- I have my doubts!)

Have a fab one!!

Kay- thanks for the explanation of cribbage. Never heard of Acey-Deucy (outside of an NSFW reference in the 80s  )
There were two hammer-finger incidents but that I can deal with-- no saw issues whatsoever! Whew!!!!

Nancy- did you get any snow yesterday or today? It feels like it is at or above freezing up here so I am guessing you might only have had rain. I know that you are being so safe but please be careful when you are out. This new variant sounds brutal and the virologists and epidemiologists that I have been following on Twitter are all extremely concerned with its transmission rates and that the US isn't testing enough for this particular mutation.
On a happier note- how fun to have the families together and I agree- I used to joke when I was teaching that if anyone could ever figure how to bottle kids' energy, they would make a fortune. It has to make you so happy to see the families blending.
Enjoy hockey!!

Morning ladies... I was MIA for the whole weekend and what a crazy weekend it was! It seemed that every time I tried to sit down here at my computer, someone would call us on the phone or call us by Face Time. Really it was weird, it was literally every time I sat down at the computer!! After about the 4th time I decided to just give up and went about doing my house keeping etc. Oh and we did get to have out Prime Rib dinner. The meat was cooked perfectly and the roasted veggies were so good too, however I was also going to cook some Yorkshire Puddings and when I went to put them in the oven... guess what?? Yup, my oven died again!! OMG!! I hate this oven!! So no Yorkshire pudding, what a waste of eggs and milk! So DH decided to try to get it working the next day and he did, so we thought that because of the mess inside the oven we should turn on the self clean and get it all cleaned up. Well of course about 1/2 hour into the self clean it died again and now we can't get the oven door opened and DH could not get it to work again. So I guess today we will have to call a repair guy and order whatever parts we need. After looking at the warranty on this stupid oven we are confident that any parts should be covered, so that is good! I am so done with this stupid wall oven and wish I could just convert everything to gas!! Today I really want to get a page done for one of the challenges and catch up with so much here at the O! It is my sister Wendy's birthday today, but she has to work today and tomorrow so my other sister and I are going to visit with her on Wednesday and deliver her birthday gifts! It will be nice to have a catch up with my sisters, all socially distant of course and masked up too. It sure will be nice when we no longer have to worry about this! Hurry up vaccines!!! We had a terrible fire in our area on New Years Day, an apartment building downtown and one person was killed and six others in hospital, so sad!! Also the Cowichan Tribes has had their first Covid Cases and now are under evacuation order because of terrible flooding in the area. It has been raining like crazy here and lots of flooding in quite a few areas, more rain on the way for the rest of the week. We might have to start building and Ark!! I am ready to get the painting re-done for the woman that commissioned it, but the canvas is so big that I might have to wait for DH to be home to help me tilt it. I think that we are now sure as which colours she really, really wants and it is so not what I would have chosen, but it's not for me is it!! Sure did have lots of great face time with the kids and grandkids over the weekend! Isaac and Sadie were very chatty and lots to tell us and lots of jokes too, so cute! Mason and Hunter were busy showing us all the new toys they got and their Dad surprised everyone with shaving off his long beard and buzzing off all of the hair on his head too! What a difference!! They are not too sure about it, but I think it looks so much better! Jonah sent us photos of the process, so I might have to get a layout done with those!

Chris - Glad to hear that the new flooring in Cait's room is looking so good! I wish you could have it everywhere in the house too! Ugh on all the snow that you got and your Gary sounds like mine, very stubborn and OCD!! LOL. The worms with perms sound like big sellers, that is so awesome! Good luck with your grocery order, sure hope you don't end up with a ton of stuff that you don't need! Glad that no one lost any fingers during the floor install Whew!!

Ok I will end this here and get busy trying to find a repair guy. DH will be home for lunch and I need to find a recipe for dinner tonight that I can cook in the either the instapot or the toaster oven. Wish me luck! Have a great Monday ladies!!

Yes, it is MONDAY...MONDAY...MONDAY... repeating it as I spaced out yesterday and thought it was Saturday so I missed the family chat Sunday afternoon. Got a call from DD#1 checking to see if I was okay since I missed the chat. Turns out that she was the only one who showed up for it!!! We had a nice long chat on the phone. Need to get some bills paid and into the mail before 2PM. So this will have to a short post as I have to shower and dress. Ended up having another PJ day yesterday... just too easy to fall into that pattern! So am making an effort to stop that unless I am sick.

Trudy... glad you got your roast beef dinner but what a bummer about all the problems with that dratted wall oven!!! Hope the warrantee on it covers everything to get it fixed.

Chris... so happy that the floor is almost finished. Know Cait will love it once everything is back in her room again. SNOW!!! Sorry you had to shovel that stuff so DH could go get the nails to finish the project. Also glad there were no incidents with the saw and hope the hammer ones heal quickly.

Gotta run... will try to catch up with all later.

Hello girls!
I'll see after minutes how's your year going for now, but I'm proud with myself. The weekend was for deep cleaning, as the house needed it after the holidays' laziness. And also for relaxing nights with movie, or browsing gift shops, as I have to bought 2 birthday gifts and with this slow delivery beter to act fast.
Today is pouring rain the whole day, nowhere I want to be, and nothing to do. So I focused on my online tasks. Kay was mentioned that coming updates at O, and I'm wondering do some of you have inside information how this will affect the store and links to the kits we are bought? Oscraps have this lovely option links to not expired, so I'm not save many of the kids I have, as I directly download them when I decide to use it. But now I start to worry, and sit to download them. It took me whole day to download one year of 52, 3 collabs, and few other kits, around 60 files. My antivirus program get crazy, and I start to worry O system to not block me too, for so many data downloads LOL! And I'm not even on the half way, as I have 2 more 52 years. Why I'm so disorganized! :frusty: I wasn't able to scrape during this time as this make computers to run slowly, so maybe tomorrow, I'm so excited for the ideas I have!

Chris, good luck with the grocery store! How lovely that boys was able so fast to make the floor!
oh, and I forgot to share, that till I was searching gift for my sis I saw one of the collections of these tea and think that you may want to see their design too! :p

Trudy, good luck with finding repair guy! Happy birthday to your sister! How cute about all the chats with the kiddos! And this LO about your son's hair cut will be fun!

Kay, how funny that from whole family only your daughter was the only one who showed up for the chat, poor girl! :)

Nancy, what a lovely celebration! I'm afraid I'm too often not able to understand what human kids are told to me, my mom laugh on me, but I just can't, it feels for me like they use different language .

Rae, hope the trip was fun and painless for your back! Can't wait to hear about your new emotional companion!

Hello my lovely Oozies.

Trudy, I love your new profile pic!! I guess I'm going to have to keep Daisy, as I can't get her off - my face is showing on the main profile page, but not anywhere else. So you girls may be stuck with Daisy's face. Haha

Chris, I'm sure Cait's floor looks amazing! Take a picture so we can see it.

Kay and Felis, have a nice day and I'll try to come back for personals later, too. I need to check the board and try to do some of the challenges. I love that some of you have done mine (Vicki's).

Cheryl, It looks like we all are on rush today!
I hate when I can't prepare properly my post! I just was started and here they called me for a while, now have to edit. That's why in most days I prefer to prepare it at WordPad and then to post it, but of course not today

Oh, how strange about your avi! I don't mind Daisy at all, but hope that you'll figure out how to resolve this mystery!
This month challenges are very interesting! I have idea for yours/Vicki, but will see when will find time.

good day - well the holiday season is over - our tree is outside waiting for pick up. Decorations are put in their correct boxes and Santas are all wrapped waiting for next year. It snowed for about 4hrs yesterday morning and then it warmed up and rained so no shoveling. Went for a nice walk with Luther and DH and found a hollowed out tree with a skin inside but no animal. I guess it was dinner for someone. My son gave us for Luther a device that goes on your dog and on you so if your dog escapes you can find him. It is so cool. Last night I finally opened it and for todays walk I used it. It is so cool. It shows you the walk and then you can share it so I shared it with my son. He thought it was awesome. Now I have to get my DH to use it. Tonight is the semi finals for World Jrs and it will be a late night. The USA does not start play until 9:30. Another one of my favorite groups Gerry and the pacemakers lead singer died - Gerry Mardsen. I loved the song Ferry across the Mercy.

Chris good luck with the grocery shopping. I did that this morning and at the same time got my second shot for the new updated shingles vaccine. I asked about what they thought was their time frame at the Acme where I got the vaccine and they said they don't know. But she did say there was a website that should you can go to that should send updates. Wow that is amazing about the floor. Hope the nails arrived today. It will be so good with that room is back.

Trudy that is the pits about the oven. Glad you got the prime rib but the pudding you are right what a waste so sorry! How funny that when you sat at computer you got phone calls. Happy birthday to your sister.

Kay it is hard to remember days of the week when you have long weekends during the holiday. Sorry you missed the chat but nice to have a phone call.

Cheryl I like Daisy and she should stay.

Felis I agree I hope the links to the kits stay live. I am totally interested to see the update. Sorry about the rain!

Jean congrats on the Browns making the playoffs. It was along time coming.

Have a great day all!

Jen and I got back last night with Bella. She is so sweet and loveable. She bonded with us all right away, loves Taz who still wants to remain at a distance for now but she sneaks in a few kisses with him here and there, and she loves her crate, has gone outside for bathroom breaks already and eating well. She only woke Jen up once last night for a pee break. Here she is. I will be extra busy this month as I'll be caring for her a lot while J is at work but it is so much fun, I don't mind. She doesn't care if I stick the camera in her face (I told her she had to get used to lots of photos LOL).
