So. This is the day/week I am going to get my life back on track. I gave myself last week to do nothing but recover mentally and physically from the previous month's dilemmas. Hmm. Am I ready to do this? (Will I ever be?? ;) ) I suppose that there is only one way to find out. *sigh*

I didn't do much of anything yesterday. My dad is a trip. He looked good, which made me feel better. tired, but heck, he is 79 yo. I am 49 and I look way worse than him. hahaha!!! I mentioned that I knew that he was running off to fires every day and that my mom was worried about him. He said that he has two options- sit home, do nothing, fall asleep because he is bored. Or he could keep busy and if that includes going to fire calls then that is what he will do. Honestly, I agree with him 100%. Scott said it best that is it much healthier to be active and mentally alert than not.

Scott told me a bit about his friend's dad who also has cancer. They went out to dinner on Saturday. He has some rare type of stomach cancer. It is Stage 4 but the Drs think that he will have it always but will be able to keep in under control. I have no idea what that means but it is a much better option than it being terminal. Again--Cancer sucks :(

I also worked a bit more on the cowl that I am crocheting. I am about halfway done and I need to start a new skein of yarn. That always makes me nervous. How silly is that? :D

Off to the grocery store up the mountain this morning. I simply cannot deal with the chaos of the supermarket in town. I am also happy that their half and half is $1.50 a half gallon cheaper than my supermarket. We got through about 3 half gallons a week (sometimes 4!) so that in itself makes the trip worth it. (Yes, we all drink way too much coffee and I am the only one who will drink it dark.)
it is the little things that keep me going.

Trudy- Gary and I watched the first episode of Godless last night. It seems like it will be good, sort of slow right now as we get to know the characters, but interesting. Thanks for the rec!

Nancy- thankfully we didn't get much rain here, more drizzle than anything. My yard is very muddy. We are supposed to be getting snow tomorrow and Friday, but hopefully only tiny amounts.
That is a great image I have in my head about Luther dropping the ball in the puddles. I laugh every time that W "throws" a toy at me, even if it is always covered in dog slobber.
That girl sounds incredible-- so strong and inspiring. My goodness, to go through that and say it is easy. Wow.

Jean- yeah, it was a weekend of ups and downs and the weather didn't help with motivation. Today we will have some sun so maybe I will open up the roof to let the sun come in the sunroof of my car as long as I will be driving 25 minutes to get to the store. (OK, that sentence is really bad but I can't figure out how to correct it. I know you know what I mean hehee!!)
and pfft- I am not an inspiration, I have gone through nothing like those other people. I just am a complainer who is too stubborn to back down. But I appreciate the sweet words.

I was relieved to see my dad was good yesterday. I know he has horrible bursitis and restless leg syndrome and he has a really hard time sleeping. My parents have a double bed and I don't know how they sleep in it. When he is in PA and she is at home, I think that they both sleep better. It doesn't help that they are like oil and water and she has a tendency to try to boss him around. He ends up ignoring her which then makes her boss him around more and so and so forth ad infinitum.

Love to all!!

Good morning girls,
it's a lovely Spring afternoon here! My pretty snow now is becoming on a awful mud and this is the only reason that keep people inside. This and that I have so many work today. Most of the cats are out and I'll have to wash many muddy paws, but who cares. :) . If that was the whole winter it's not enough!!! I'd love to take some of this snow that Trudy, was offer me! But looks like everybody in my house likes the early Spring. My sister take Tiny on a long dog walk. And even Biggie, who adore snow is happy to sleep outside. They all are so irresponsible, winter is needed on the wild nature! Which reminds me that I bought awesome winter mini kit by SoMa and now I'm inspired for two new LOs, which will be for the next month. I can't believe that at Saturday is a new month already!? I have so much to finish these three days.

Chris, so sad about your friend! I hope the doctors are wrong, and weeks become a months, months years and ect. Maybe some of these alternative medicine with meditation and dietary, or experimental pills?! Pff, Fate is such a bi:censored: , poor little her kids! Great that you had good time with your dad and everything's all right. Gosh! You described relationship on yours or on mine parents, so familiar! Probably is unnecessary to told that I'm more than happy that your neighbor's cat is back , but I am!

Nancy, I didn't know that you follow the tennis too. My whole country is so sad that Grigor Dimitrov lose not just the game, but also his third position and now he is with an injury into the shoulder and maybe wouldn't to play at the local Sofia Open. Now when I have better idea how huge is Luther I'm not surprised why you aren't happy to clean this huge paws, but he sounds like good trained dog and probably alone give them. Tiny knows alone and emediately go to the bath, it's so sweet :) .

Jean, so great that you have sun! I saw that your weekly page is posted but will looks carefully later!

Trudy and Rae :hello:

Have a lovely and sunny day you all!

good morning - The day is starting our grey and damp. Not happy. Yesterday was fun watching the NHL all star games. The Pacific won and this kid and I mean kid Brock Boeser a Vancouver Canuck rookie was the MVP. They say his nickname on team is Prince Charming as he has such good hair. LOL. Well for the weekend he received $212K for being selected to All Star team, $212K for winning the MVP, $25K for winning the most accurate shooting, $10K for being an all star, and a car as the MVP and $91K for being on the winning team. Not bad for a weekend in Tampa LOL. He seems like such a nice kid and if you read his back story the kid has been through a lot so nice to see how far he has come at such a young age. Rae your husband should have a great time at his game watching this kid and Bo Horvat play for the Canucks. One of the events that happens at the all star weekend is Gary Bettman makes announcements on the state of hockey. One of the announcements said that my NJ Devils will be playing a preseason game in Switzerland and the season opener in Sweden. Our number on draft choice is Nick Hishier and he is from Switzerland so that should be cool for him and we have a couple of players from Sweden. Omgosh I so want to go. What a fun trip that would be. Last night I cooked salmon and awesome veggies with a date vinaigrette. It was really yummy. And the boys were so so happy. Yea! Today is pretty low key. No hockey again tonight.

Chris sounds like a great time with you dad. I cant believe he is still going to fires. He is awesome and I bet it does keep him younger. You description of your mom and dad is pretty funny but only because I know how much they care for each other and the rest of their family. It is amazing how much is being learned on how to treat cancer and how some can live with it under control. Good luck with grocery shopping. My son was nice and went yesterday for the family. It was good by his eyes are always looking for something. And he came home with stuff not on the list. LOL.

Felis sorry that you are now having mud. My DH took Luther out and he came back pretty dry and yes some muddy paws but he was good about letting is clean them. I doubt your winter is over. And yes I am love tennis. My DH and I played a lot when we were young. That is too bad his injury - hope he recovers fast.

Jean glad you had sun! Hope it continues.

Hi Rae and Trudy!

Have a great day all!

Good Monday morning to you all!! I have a couple of minutes while the kids get dressed and brush their teeth. So I thought I would pop in here and say :hello: OMG did we get :rain: yesterday!! So much that the snow is pretty much all gone already. We had a lot of snow too almost 6 inches!! So now we will have to deal with the overflow of water on the streets. But at least it has stopped raining for now and when I get back from dropping the kids off to school I will take Stormy for her walk. BTW DH did make it here, but he said that the roads were pretty bad and there were a lot of cars in the ditches and a few other accidents. Crazy man!! I told him how much snow we had gotten, but still he decided to brave it! We took the kids to the movie "Jumanji welcome to the jungle" They loved it and really it was pretty good, lots of laughs! Then because it was raining so darn hard, DH decided to head back home before the traffic got heavy and it got dark. Nothing worse than driving in the pounding rain in the dark! On the drive to Nanaimo from here there are no lights along the side of the highway, so it is really, really black out there.

Chris - Glad that you found the show Godless! It does take a bit to get into it, and it is pretty dark, but its one of those series where you just have to finish watching it!! I think that you and Scott are right, it is better that your Dad continues to keep busy and keep his mind active! There has to be a purpose to our lives, especially for men who have worked so hard all of their lives! Isn't it funny that they sleep in a double bed, so do my MIL and FIL and I don't know how they can stand it LOL. Hope you are enjoying your cow project and yes it is funny that you are nervous about starting a new skein of yarn :becky: I am hoping that you are feeling better and that the coming new Month will bring you more energy and happiness!

Felis - I think that perhaps your Winter is just taking a break and that you will be back to lots of snow in this next month. I know how much you love the snow and I would have gladly given all of the snow that we had here yesterday to you! I am thankful that it is gone now and I don't have to drive in it! Have fun scrapping with your new purchase! SoMa Designs has some pretty cute stuff!

Nancy - Sounds like this new kid is a super star! Too funny that they call him Prince Charming! LOL Wow that is a lot of $$ for playing a sport that you love! I hate that NHL players make such ridiculous salaries!! Its not like its an essential service or anything. Just my two cents I will shut up now :tape: Hope that you get enjoy some kind of sports tonight with there being no hockey. What a sweetie Luther is for you, to let you wipe his paws when they are muddy. Stormy does that too!

Ok gotta get going to drop the kids off to school. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. The wkend flew by. We spent Sat on the island visiting Bailey and this coming wkend she gets an overnight pass from the center so her and Jen will spend the night here which should be fun (food, movies, hanging out together). Bought Bailey a gorgeous designer jacket while wandering around after the Saturday seminars in their little town that only has a few shops but the ones they have are interesting). It was a designer thrift shop so it wasn't super cheap but it was such a great design that suited her so well. I took a few phone pics with her and the jacket to scrap a LO with.

Sunday was busy as my two girls came to visit, I tried to get some laundry and chores done and before I knew it, it was dinner time and I was tired, so after dinner I just lounged in my chair and watched a few shows.

This week I have a lot of work as I'm covering for the other girl. So I'm going to get my CT work done today b/c I might not get much computer time the rest of the week. Plus, tomorrow night we're going to the hockey game so my work day will finish early. It's funny how life can change so much. I used to scrap almost every day and now I hardly ever get a chance to. I'm actually starting to get used to not scrapping much now. I really enjoy it when I do, but now I go days without it and I'm not missing it as much. I have gotten in reading more and am not on the computer as much.

But I guess that is life, right? It's never stagnant, it's always changing. My only concern is that it doesn't make me a very good CT member which I feel guilty about.

Anyway, I'd better go, it's time to get to work now. Since I rambled on I don't even have time for personals now. Sorry, ladies....I'll try to pop in later and check out all the posts. Hope you all have a great day.

We're back to gray with a threat of snow today. DH had fun at Hum & Strum this morning. The group has grown enough that they had to move to a larger room today. While he's gone I do bills and stuff.

Chris, hope the grocery shopping goes well and the weather is OK for the drive. Good for you for looking to a new month as a new chance. Glad your dad seems OK. Not surprised though. And the double bed? I think that's just what we do. My DH sleeps loud with snoring and such and I can sleep through almost anything as a result.

Felis, sorry you're back to mud, but I agree you may still have more winter to come. Nice to have a new kit and scrap ideas.

Nancy, what a haul for that rookie! Wow, hope you get to go next season's games in Switzerland and/or Sweden. That would be so great.

Trudy, I'm not the least surprised your MG came despite the weather and roads. He's just like that. But, he was sensible on when to go back, so that was good. I know you're having a good time with the grands and the dog.

Rae, what a nice find in that designer jacket for B. I'm sorry though that you're scrapping less and not really missing it. You are so creative that it is sad to lose your designs here.

Good morning ladies. It's really Tuesday morning but I wanted to stop in and begin catching up. Crazy to me that I've been gone so long. I'm thinking that I may need to do a little shopping so that I can start scrapping a bit. Need to look for some challenges.

I promise I will write a proper catch up post but the most important piece that I have to share is that the kids are a freshman (Shaun) and an 8th grader with 3 freshman classes (Syd). We are at the end of swimming season (Shaun is swimming varsity) and almost the end of show choir season (again Shaun). Basketball wrapped up at the end of December (Syd) but soccer is about to begin in full force (Syd) and we head to Memphis for a long weekend of soccer over President's Day weekend.

So much more to say. I'll stop back in tonight and do a little more catching up. So glad to see so many of you still here.
