Daily Ooo's: Monday, January 28

Good morning and happy Monday! I am trying to be positive even thought is cold and dark and my right click button on my wacom pen stopped working. Do you have any idea how often you right click? Hint: Its a LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My fingers are crossed that if I reboot the computer, it will start working again. That's (one of) my motto- when in doubt, reboot!

I am working from home today- I have gobs and gobs and gobs of paperwork, filing, plus housework and laundry. What a mess! But I only have to leave the house to get the kids off to school and just my own. I don't have to babysit today since my friend didn't need me. Her husband took the day off but she has to go in to work. I can't imagine that she s feeling up to it, but maybe keeping busy and working and being in a routine will help her.

The Shiva seemed like a nice way to get the family and friends together. I hadn't seen some of her old friends in years and it was nice to catch up with them a bit. She was so happy to see my mom too. On the bad side, our other neighbors were also there and told me that their friend is in ICU and on a respirator., I don't know what he was admitted with but he has Stage 4 lung cancer so it can't be good. These are all of the people we were with on NY Eve and the one guy is my cleaning client. So sad and scary. My group of neighbors are pretty tight and its really nice to see us all pull together but I wish it was for good news not bad.

We have an ice storm heading in in a few hours so I am glad I am not going anywhere today.

Quick one from me! I got a little bit of scrapping done yesterday. Syd made the winning basket in her game...in the 3rd OT. Pretty intense stuff for 3rd and 4th graders. She was so cute...she told me after the game, "Mom that was just a lucky shot you know." Then she asked, "Are you going to tell Hannah?" Hannah is my oldest niece and was quite the basketball star. I posted on Hannah's FB page and she immediately replied, "Tell Syd that you never get lucky in BB without lots of skill first."

I can't believe that next week we go to Maui. How long have I been carrying on about it? And now it's almost here.

Well, need to go get ready for work. I have my review today...and I have one scheduled to give today and one tomorrow so we are almost done with that. All three should be happy.

Morning O fam- my workout is done. My sinus infection is ramping up versus going away so I will make a call to the dr once I get to work, or maybe before. No fever, no sneezing or coughing and still have my voice - so it is off to work I go. My husband did look at me this am and said " you look like H E double hockey sticks, I don't know why you are going to work" I know he meant well, but really great thing to say after you have got out of the shower and dressed for work= especially when the scales went up not down. So begins the work week!

Morning everyone... Another weekend gone!! They do fly by don't they?? Had a nice visit with the In-laws yesterday. Helped MIL do a few things on the computer, she has been doing lots of work getting the church history all caught up and so needed some pointers on the word program that they use. She doesn't understand the spell check and gets so frustrated when she has spelling mistakes that the program should have picked up. But there were a few things that she did not have turned on as an option so it just wasn't doing all that it could have done. Anyway I showed her a couple of tricks to make the process of documenting all of her work a bit easier. Now hopefully she will remember all of the them. LOL It was nice to see her using the computer and I think she has been having fun with it. I told her now that her church is closed and she has some more time on her hands that she should take a few computer courses. She seemed interested, but we'll see if anything becomes of it.

Chris - Hope you get your tiding up done today! Sad about all of your friends and neighbour's health problems!! It sounds like you are all a very close knit bunch!! We hardly even know most of our neighbours so you are lucky indeed!! Sure hope you find the time to get into the gallery today, I was browsing all the beauty the past few days and oh my there are a bunch of very talented people here at the "O"!!!

LindsS - How exciting for your Syd!! She must have been so happy!! Whoooo Hoooo Maui here you come!! I sure hope the week flys by for you!

Laurie - Sending healing thoughts your way and hope that the dr can get to the bottom of your sinus problem!! Too bad about the number on the scales, but mine was up today too after dieting all week and being down 3lbs its frustrating, but I have to learn to only weigh myself once a week and not on a Monday!!

Well a full day of work today and then a short four hr shift tuesday, Wed, Thurs , its going to be a good week!! Hope you all have a fabulous Monday and do something you love!!:wave:

Can't believe it is Monday. The weekends go by just way too fast for me!

Yesterday I didn't do much other than go to church, visit my mom, do a few housekeeping chores with the son---getting paperwork together for his job that he starts today, have a long talk with the same son about paying rent here---he thinks he can just spend his check on whatever he wants. Spent some time catching the checkbook up. It is insane the amount of money we spent in the last 6 weeks. $3000 just on car repairs!!!

I did manage to get to scrap a little.

Guess it is time to get to work----the job is calling me.

Good morning! Light snow is falling and it will probably turn to sleet and rain by the afternoon. Yesterday the temperature was finally above freezing so was able to get out and get in a good 45 min walk. Watched my Devils lose their first game in OT but at least they got one point as they were down two goals twice but came back to tie. My favorite player is Patrick Elias and he got his 900th point actually he got 3 points, 1 goal and 2 assists. Got some scrapping done. Just a regular weekend.

Chris sounds like you have a great neighborhood! Sorry though for the sadness

LindaS so happy for Syd. What a nice comment from her cousin.

Terry. 85 degrees?? don't get me started. Linda, you sent your ice right over to US!! although i think now it's just raining, but because it's been so cold, all the rain is freezing to the roads. so, this is a stay-in-my-jammies-until-3 p.m.-and-don't-even-LOOK-outside day. we got SO lucky with the weather for the D.C. drive yesterday. blue skies and NO precip! it was GREAT seeing The Grandmen. honestly, they are SUCH characters. so i have about a year to get my fuill of them until they're off again to some exotic place with their parents. i imagine i'll be wearing out the pavement between my house and theirs.

my eyes are weird again today, so this is just a short one. hope everyone is having a good day. no. a GREAT day! :becky:

Well....Ice last night...kids off to school....2 hours late today....and I have cleaned the kitchen...have a huge pot of beans on cooking to go with the meatloaf I am making for dinner....and cleaned the rest of the kitchen.....and fixed a dish of baked apples that is in baking.....

DON'T ASK where the spurt of energy came from today....I have no idea...I wish it would come more often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to take advantage though....cleaning out my closet today....good grief I have three big piles of clothes folded in floor beside the closet and just keep putting the whole ordeal off!!! IT'S TIME!!!! :dizzy:


It's going up to 42 today...54 tomorrow and WOOOHOOOO 67 WEDNESDAY!!! only to fall back to the thirties for the weekend....but I will take it!!!! Spring will not get here fast enough for me....Winter...BLEH!!!!


My Dad took us out to dinner last night....for my Birthday...a little late..since everyone has been sick....he loves to do things like that That's why I am fixing apples today....I had some at Cracker Barrel (that's where I picked to go eat) last night and now I want more.....I would have picked Olive Garden...but I know the parents don't care for that too much.


Next month we will be taking Dad out...for his 80th birthday...I want to call his brothers and have them join us as well....My Dad is the 2nd oldest (only younger than his sister, who passed away years ago with Cancer) of 8 children...there are only 5 of them left...his sister lives in CA so she wouldn't be able to make it. One of his other Sisters and Brother have also passed away to Cancer....yeah...I know....I think about that too ladies....lots of risk...huh? My Dad has had Cancer as well.


Okay...I better get going....that closet is yelling from in there to get going :becky:
