I have to say that I am quite surprised that we don't have a delayed opening. Schools all over have delays or are closed and not a word from our district. I keep looking at the clock, then the phone, wondering WTH? The sun came out yesterday and melted a lot of the snow on the roads, but it dropped down to 14* last night. It is going to be an icy mess.

We ended up getting about 2 feet of snow which is plenty for me to deal with, Too much! Hope it melts quickly and that is all that we see. My SIL is drooling over the prospect of skiing on it. The Special Olympic Winter Games are coming up soon and she, and her whole family and a lot of her friends, volunteer. She usually does Ski Patrol. It will be nice for her to have good snow for it.

Yesterday was another "Blah" kind of day. I worked on some more photos, and kept adding the year to the ones that I had scanned with the correct dates. Today I am going to catch up on laundry and mop the floors, made no sense to do that yesterday while human and canines tracked snow and mud in. I can't do much more than that since I can feel my back spasming a bit from the shoveling I did, even though I did very little.

If everything works out- my windshield will be replaced this morning.
No news on BFFATS's husband. I know she and the kids went down to visit yesterday.

Let me wrap this up since I am pretty much :blah:
:)

xoxo

Kat- hope you and your guys got all of the shoveling done that you needed too. Good job breaking it into shifts like that.

Rae- hope that you had fun at the mall.

I think that this is a good idea for today:
It’s National Irish Coffee Day! Irish coffee is a delicious cocktail made with black coffee, sugar, Irish whiskey, and whipped cream.
Joe Sheridan, a bartender at Foynes Airbase in Ireland, invented the drink in 1942. A group of passengers stopped at the bar after a miserably cold eighteen-hour journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Joe brewed hot coffee, added a splash of whiskey, and offered the concoction to the travelers. According to legend, one of the passengers asked him, “Is this Brazilian coffee?” and Joe laughed and said, “No, that’s Irish coffee.”
Ten years later, Jack Koeppler, the owner of the Buena Vista bar in San Francisco, and travel writer Stanton Delaplane teamed up to bring Joe’s famous Irish coffee to the States. They experimented for months before they got the taste just right and put it on the menu. The popularity of the drink soon spread nationwide and it's been a favorite ever since.
Curl up with a heavenly mug of warm Irish coffee to celebrate National Irish Coffee Day!
Unfortunately, I can't "celebrate" since I am on Tindamax aka Abx From Hell. Have a cup and shot for me :tea:

Morning from snowy (still!) Virginia! Yeah, this snow is probably going to be around for a few weeks. Hopefully some above-freezing temperatures and even a bit of rain will help a little. Some icy patches out there this morning, but most of the main roads are in pretty good shape. I'm going to head in the office shortly after 8 - give the sun a chance to get in the sky a bit.

Chris, I can't believe the school district hasn't closed for at least today! Our county has closed today and tomorrow. The ice will be an issue, but also snow removal from the parking lots - that's going to take some time LOL

good morning! Well our local city offices and schools are all canceled for today. The NJT trains and PATH are all delayed. And it is one icy mess. Hopefully it warms up and starts to melt the snow. I hope to get Luther on a walk later in the day when it is not so icy. Yesterday my boys (mostly my DH ) shovel the snow. It is pretty amazing just how high the snow piles have gotten when getting over 2 ft of snow off the driveway and side walks. We had so much fun taking Luther on a walk down to the River. He loved it. We have apartments at the end of the block and the parked cars were covered by the snows and plows and people were out digging. Luther loved romping through the snow. He met another dog out walking and they had a wonderful meeting. After a long day of shoveling went to dinner with my girlfriends and their DHs. It was really fun sharing blizzard stories. I was lucky that the boys shoveled and they did not need me. So I read. We have a wonderful neighbor and he used his snowblower to help them out. I got stuck twice when my legs did not reach far enough down and it is not fun but I did get out LOL. Got good photos of the puppy and the snow. Now this am my boys are sore!

Chris I am so surprised that your schools are not at least delayed. Good luck with driving but I am thinking most schools closed so there should be less traffic! Enjoy the view!

Kat how nice that you all shoveled and took good breaks.

Rae hope you enjoyed the mall and found really good specials!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning ladies... So glad that you all have survived the terrible snowmageddon !! I haven't read through all of the posts from the weekend, but it sounds like everyone was busy with lots of shovelling and staying home for the past couple of days! We had a fabulous time in Tofino and the sorry to rub it in but the weather was fantastic and we really lucked out with the sunshine and beautifully mild temperatures! The first day we were in awe at the huge waves that pounding the shoreline, then the second day the waters were calm and it was a totally different experience. I hope to get a few pages scrapped about our weekend.

Chris - How strange that your school has not announced a closure for today?? Hope you don't have to go back and pick Cait up because they forgot to make the announcement!! I was sorry to read that your neighbour had this heart issue!! DH and I were wondering if any of the deaths from the recent storm were caused by people out shovelling all that snow! I am sending healing thoughts to your BFFAT's hubby and her family and I hope he gets home soon! I also hope he has learned his lesson this time and will stop trying to do everything himself! :tape: Your Irish Coffee Day sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the day and I hope that you are not too bored with the day!

Kat - Your method of snow shovelling is the best approach for sure!! When we lived in Saskatchewan hubby bought himself a huge snowblower, he couldn't wait for the snow to build up high enough to use it LOL. The first year he had it we didn't get any snow at all he was very disappointed but the following years more than made up for it. :becky: Nice that you can head into work a bit later today, drive safely and watch out for those other guys!!

Nancy - How fun that Luther is enjoying the snow so much! It would have been a beautiful walk along that river I bet! I am looking forward to seeing everyone's pages about the huge snowfall of 2016, I hope it is the only one that you get!

Rae - We most likely are cross posting again, so I will say hi and hope that your weekend was a good one and that you have had some success with job hunting too!!

Well lots of photos to got through and lots of laundry to do today :washing: But other that that I hope to do a lot of nothing and just scrap the day away!! Send me some mojo everyone I seem to be lacking a lot of that lately!!

Been at the office for a while now so, sssshhh, hoping back here ;) Roads were really good, surprisingly so. The only sketchy part I ran into was the little road to my office building - still a lot of snow on it - but the building owners have done an awesome job with the parking lot - it's down to pavement!!

Figured I'd stay until around 4:30 and then head home while there's still some daylight left.

The boys called me from home and all I could hear was Haddie barking ... and barking ... and barking!! She has a small footstool with steps that we place right next to the kitchen windows (they're on the front of the house). Apparently, people are out clearing more snow, and she's sitting there, wagging her tail off, barking at them!! LOL

Good morning, ladies. Glad you all survived the snow this wkend. We had clear skies for most of the weekend which was a welcome reprieve from all the rain lately. I'm making tacos for dinner tonight so have to remember to get the mexican rice cooking later. I'll get out for a walk later with Taz (have to take advantage of the sunshine). Hubs and I searched everywhere for slippers yesterday. Most stores only sold the soft thin soled slippers that neither of us wanted. Who knew that finding sturdy well made slippers would be so difficult? Finally at Payless we each found a pair and they even had half off one pair. I love my new slippers. They are warm, comfy and have a good sole on them.

Chris - hope the spasms go away. Do you have an ice pack if it doesn't?

Kat - glad you made it into work and the roads weren't too bad.

Trudy - can't wait to see pics of your lovely weekend away. How nice that you had such good weather!

Nancy - looking forward to see pics of Luther in the snow.

Gotta get to work now but the day shouldn't be too busy. I've taken the week off from my hospital acct as the pay isn't great and I'm not really losing much money, just gaining more time for myself. I will be dropping that account when I find a new client whose pay is more in line with my other client. Anyway....gotta go...have a wonderful day, everyone!

Well, I see I got back from the East Coast just in time... =) A lovely sunny day here on the West Coast, birds a-chirpin', mud a-suckin', and ocean a-bluin'. Wishing you all a wonderful day!
