Happy new week ahead!!
yup, the sun is a reminder that it will come out at some point, just not today. And even if it did make an appearance, it wouldn't make it feel any warmer. Brutally cold outside but thankfully, not as much snow as they predicted. The temps crashed before the snow moved in so it's much drier and we got about 6-7' as best as I can tell from my window. Tom did a lot of shoveling yesterday and the plows were driving past my house all night.
That's the the good part. ;)

The not-as-good part is that I have no idea ATM if my dentist appt is going to be canceled or not. They open at 9 and that's when I am supposed to be there. I guess I am going to get in the shower soon and plan on going unless I hear otherwise. I am super glad that even in the worst case scenario (yes, "worst case scenario" is a relative term compared to sitting in my PJs all day Bwuhahah!), I drive all the way over there, making only *&^$# left turns (more tragedy-- left turns all the way around town. I mean-- how ever will I survive??? *puts hand to forehead and in need of smelling salts).
Yeah, I think I'll survive.

Do you have any fun plans today?

Have a great day!!

Quick personals:
I spent the last few --more than a few ;) - minutes trying to see how the roads are on Google Maps, but 1. it's still pretty early and 2. a lot of the schools are closed for MLK Day so nothing showing up one way or the other.

@vickyday It must have been good to head to church and then snuggle back in at home. Hope the back is feeling better!

@BrightEyes How long will you be in that weather pattern? It's 11* here and supposed to stay this way much of the week.

@bcgal00 I'm happy for you that the temps are warming up-- as if 20* is warm but better than 0!
The jewelry organizer sounds amazing and what a great bargain!
Haha!! I am laughing at myself because your info on your new hair dryer reminded me of my impulse to buy the Shark Hair drying/curling system. I was so frustrated with how long it takes me to dry my hair and I was ready to drop $200+ for a hair dryer because I saw a commercial baotu how well it works.
LMK if you like the stuff you bought ;)

@AK_Tracy I'm gathering up a box of snow and shipping it to AK right now. If it is watery when it gets there, leave it outside overnight :floorlaugh:
I had a thin plywood board that we do puzzles on and then when we need the DR table, I put it on the dog crate. Can't ever take the dog crate down bw/c then where would we put out puzzles?
Hope you are having a great time scrapping!

@mimes1 How lucky and blessed you were that you were able to get the food you ordered!
I hope that you are feeling better, pace yourself at work today. Hugs~~
You scrapping maniac! :multitasking:

@scrapinmom I saw that online that NOLA is getting snow. That's bonkers! Be safe!

Amy-- thanks for the info on suet/lard. I can get prepackaged lard from the supermarket () but will look for it in the meat section if I end up doing that activity TY!!

Yes, the back is better. But I still have to be choosey about what I do. Thanks! Yes, it was great to get out of the house yesterday!

Quick in and out. I have church errands to do today... make the deposit then run by the church to check the mail. Should have done it yesterday while there but it still isn't second nature. Oh well. It's only 10 minutes away.

Ilene's daughters gave her a surprise Tea Party for her birthday on Saturday and I want to see how surprised she actually was. I hated I couldn't go because of my back problems. Some of the gals from church were there and said it was nice.

We got the car back Friday night. Mark had his daughter take him. Drove it to Wendy's for supper and then home. It seems like he drove it somewhere on Saturday, too. But when he put in reverse to back out of the driveway to go to church yesterday the stupid engine light came back on! Grrr!

Finished another puzzle on my lap desk yesterday.

I have got to do laundry today! No ifs, ands, or buts about it! I'm going to have to be careful. Mark said he would do it tonight if it turns out to be too much on my back.

Ok. This got longer than I planned. Gotta run.

Have a great day!

Morning, all. Another chilly day...only 17*F but wind chill makes it feel like -0*F!!! :brrr: At least a couple more days of this artic blast. No snow or rain so the roads are clear.... not that I plan on going anywhere most of the week. Will pick up my Rx refill at the base either Friday or next Monday depending on weather and how I am feeling then. Will do the commissary run then so the back needs to be better. It is slowly improving as I am taking it easy and avoiding any lifting, etc.

I may make this another PJ day... reading and relaxing... and giving the back a chance to improve. May pop back in later today and do a bit of pre-release scrapping.

Just, a quick update. I have missed you all so much and the past 3 months have been hard. Sometimes people we once loved lose that good inside and instead become cruel and ugly and totally lose their moral compass. to use children as a weapon is the lowest form of humanity, This has been going on years for those poor kids but this escalation was totally unacceptable. My grands will carry the scars for longer than I will carry mine. We have been working with a lawyer the last month and a half getting all the that "legal old people stuff " done that we've been putting off forever including a health care directive and we have good people we can trust in place. It's -11° here and I just printed the boarding passes for our flight to Key West. The car picks us up at 2:15 am tomorrow morning & takes us to MSP airport. I'm actually packed other than things - that go in last minute and I still have to mow my legs. The minions have been busy , I need to get you caught up. My hope is to come back from Key West refreshed in mind, body , & soul. I need to regain my sense of humor and that's impossible not to do around my cousin. I know when we get back mid February, Wendell won't give me a moments peace until taxes are done, he'd have me start on the plane if he could, so I plan-to start here again in March. I apologize if this is TMI but knowing you are here and Ona and Chris's understanding, you've been my life preserver.

Good morning ladies. I have the day to putter at home, aside from Remi's walk. I want to find my scan results, I know I have the paperwork somewhere here, so I can bring it in to my doctor and will request an update on scans so we know what kind of shape my body is in right now. Then I can book physio to find out what a good weight lifting/exercise routine will be for me.

I found out that my ladies group does an indoor walking routine for an hour, so I'm going to join in on Wed morning and then we all go for the Wed coffee meet-up. I've been going for coffee but not the walk b/c I thought they were outside and I was going to wait for warmer weather. I'm going to bingo tonight with friends and Jen is going to come along. D is heading to the hotel this afternoon to spend the night with his buddies from the coast and will come home tomorrow afternoon. For my dinner, I am going to make devilled eggs to have with leftover ramen noodle coleslaw salad and will roast parmesan garlic green beans.

@faerywing I'll let you know about the hair dryer. Jen ordered one too.

@vickyday That sucks about the car engine light coming back on again. We are having a problem with the tire pressure sensor light that keeps coming on but we've been ignoring it for over a year and the company can't figure out why. We give up.

@BrightEyes We've got chilly weather too, -6 F right now. We will warm up a bit this week too.

I need more coffee and am going to watch a few videos on meal planning. HAGD everyone.

Morning everyone... I have been MIA all weekend, but it was another busy weekend with my DH. I have been feeling pretty blue these last couple of days, missing my brother and still trying to comprehend how this accident could have happened. I know that time will make the pain lessen a bit, but for now it just kind of hits me like a ton of bricks quite a few times every day. :sad2::brokenheart:. Today is very chilly and frosty its -4C which is about 24F not as cold as where our kids are, but still pretty darn cold for the West Coast! The sun will come out later and hopefully warm things up a bit! I did manage to do a pre-release page for Vicki Robinson and it was good to scrap about my brother! Very therapeutic!! I will try to do some more scrapping today and I really need to change my AVI and siggie too. Other than that I have to start thinking about a birthday gift for my DH his birthday is on groundhog day, so I have a bit of time to think about it. I had a very nice Face Time chat with my SIL Veronica in Australia on Friday night. She is getting stronger and the kids and grands are keeping her busy, but we both had a cry and then a few laughs too. I can't imagine the pain that she is going through right now!! We are just so thankful that she is with her family!! She should be back here in Canada sometime in February with her daughter who will stay with her for a couple of months. Ok I will do some quick personals than I better get on with my day.

The not-as-good part is that I have no idea ATM if my dentist appt is going to be canceled or not. They open at 9 and that's when I am supposed to be there. I guess I am going to get in the shower soon and plan on going unless I hear otherwise. I mean-- how ever will I survive??? *puts hand to forehead and in need of smelling salts).
Yeah, I think I'll survive.
Sounds chilly where you are too! Hope that your appointment is not cancelled today and that the roads are clear and dry for all of your left turns! Guess you could always hop back into your PJ's when you get home and just chill for the rest of the day! Yes, you will survive LOL. We need that drama emoji back!!
Quick in and out. I have church errands to do today... make the deposit then run by the church to check the mail. Should have done it yesterday while there but it still isn't second nature. Oh well. It's only 10 minutes away.

Hope your church errands get done quickly! Really that dam light came on again in your car???? It just must be a faulty wire or something, just ignore the dam thing!! Or maybe not?!! I would hate for you to have engine trouble!! Hope your back feels better soon!
I may make this another PJ day... reading and relaxing... and giving the back a chance to improve. May pop back in later today and do a bit of pre-release scrapping.
Sounds like the perfect day to me!! I have never had a pj day, even when Covid first happened. Perhaps I should try it one day! I might do some pre-lease scrapping again today also.
I hope that you come back from Key West feeling renewed Jeanne!! Don't worry about those darn taxes until you get back! Sorry that things have not been good for you, but sending you all of my best wishes and love that it will all improve!! :hug2:

Thats great that your ladies group does indoor walking! A lot safer than trying to maneuverer icy trails and sidewalks!! Have fun at Bingo and say hi to Jen from me! Enjoy your time alone tonight and I hope that D has a great time with his buddies! Your dinner sounds very yummy!!

@AK_Tracy and @faerywings - have you ever seen these for your puzzles they work amazing!! https://canada.michaels.com/product/masterpieces-roll-up-puzzle-storage-mat-10363709 we used one at our son's while we were working on a 1000 piece puzzle and not one single piece got moved out of place.

Well Heather will be calling soon to catch up with happenings over the weekend. Hopefully she is keeping warm and cozy at home! I hope you all have a great Monday! :waving3:

My first time jumping in here so here goes! It's cold here in mid-Missouri. Currently 10 feels like -2. I have the day off due to the MLK holiday so I'm at home with my husband and the fireplace is roaring. I am the scorebook keeper for the Calvary Lutheran High School basketball teams and we have games to night. This, of course, means that I will have to get out in this cold weather. The sun is showing itself here this morning but it is not expected to warm up past 13 today. All the snow and ice we receive a while back still hasn't melted. I hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Good Morning Ladies!!!
Its always so fun to wake up and enjoy my first cup of coffee with my wonderful O fam.

The temps crashed before the snow moved in so it's much drier and we got about 6-7' as best as I can tell from my window.
I'm glad the temps dropped first so it wasn't heavy wet snow you got and that Tom was there to shovel. But please dont send it, melted snow then refroze just means more ice and I have plenty of that!!!! :giggle4:
I drive all the way over there, making only *&^$# left turns (more tragedy-- left turns all the way around town. I mean-- how ever will I survive??? *puts hand to forehead and in need of smelling salts).
:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: So what I am hearing is NASCAR driving is out for you since all they do is left turns :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
And yes, I wanna see the drama emoji Trudy talked about :giggle4: Think it would be a great fit here.

Oh Vicky, thats not good. I wonder, not remembering or knowing everything your mechanic has done, but could it be the main computer in your car? I had one go out once but it was way dramatic and my car wouldn't run. So frustrating that all this time and money and still not fixed.
I still have to mow my legs.
This cracked me up!!! Spoken like a true Twin in the middle of winter!!!
It was so good to see you this morning and read that your headed to a wonderful vacation. I cant imagine all you have been through with your son and how dare he use the kids as weapons. That is the lowest. Cant wait to see all your amazing photos when you return. I hope you have so much laughter that your sides hurt. :heartpumppink:
I know that time will make the pain lessen a bit, but for now it just kind of hits me like a ton of bricks quite a few times every day. :sad2::brokenheart:.
:hug2: wrapping you in hugs. I'm glad the scrapping was therapeutic and good. I cant imagine how hard this must be for all of you. Hugging you from afar. My shoulders were built to catch tears so know its there if you need to cry. No words needed, just cry. :heartpumppink:

Welcome to the craziest, funnest, wonderful-est chat thread ever DJ. It will become addicting. Your day home sounds amazing with the roaring fire. So comfy and snug. Stay safe when out for the BB game tonight.

Its so crazy that all of you are colder than I am. Its 33* and suppose to get warmer and rain again. Its so disgusting here this winter. The town just next to us, the lawns are all clear and some are greening up!!! Like HELLO its not April yet! Its suppose to be snow and beautiful not dull and dark!!! It would be one thing if we had 10 hours daylight but were still working our way to 7 full hours daylight and driving is SO dark when there is no snow to reflect headlights.

Well, coffee is calling my name. Time for the second cup. Have a wonderful day!

Praying your grieving for your brother eases soon! :hug3:
Yes, the stupid car is driving me nuts! Well, I'm sure the mechanic is just about beside himself! Mark says he will figure it out eventually! What a learning experience!

I think he did something with the computer or computer board or something! It is the craziest thing.....every single time that light comes back on it throws him a different code! And he hasn't even asked for payment yet! He said he doesn't want paid until he fixes it! He's a good friend of Mark's. He has always been the guy to work on Mark's cars! I told Mark I was surprised he hadn't thrown the towel in yet. Mark said, "Oh, he won't do that, for sure! Every car like this is a learning experience for him!" I said I wished it was someone else's car he was having to learn about these problems with!

Good morning ladies. I have the day to putter at home, aside from Remi's walk. You are the busiest person I know! Have a great time with your bingo! Does Jen get to go with you much? I'm glad she can!

Yeah, we've had that "Service tire system" message come up lately, too! The message even includes a wrench, LOL! I'd like to take a wrench to someone's head right about now, LOL! JK! I'm only violent in my thoughts! But, the Lord does say, if you think it, it's the same as if you done it! OOPS!

Everything else aside, Jeanne.....can I just say that the second picture of your nails (too cute, BTW) looks like you died! Why is that one so dark? Not enough light? Anyway! Hope you have a wonderful and relaxing time in Key West.....even if you do have to mow before you go! ;)

Oh I am so glad he's been trying without charging you each time. What a mess. And yeah he learns but how frustrating for you guys.

I try to read this thread each day and have missed your presence and hoped you were well. So sorry for all of the heartache; hoping your time in warmth revives and refreshes you. Wishing you peace, go well. :heartpumppink:
