And so it begins, my busy week. And guess what? I am running a bit behind schedule already. No one is surprised. hah.

I puttered around most of the day yesterday. I did some laundry, started my food shopping list, cleaned the kitchen. My niece popped in for a bit, she wanted to see the babies and she dropped off a "foster child." Scott is babysitting a tarantula for a few weeks. It is thankfully a small one and s/he is honestly kind of cute. (Do I hear a bunch of you fainting? :spider: ) We are *not* breathing a word of this to my mom. I don't think that her heart is strong enough to be under the same roof as a tarantula.

I am off to grab a quick cup of coffee with my parents before I go see the podiatrist. The boot should come off today!!! I am so darn excited! Then I am meeting my BFF for coffee when I am done. Maybe I should make that tea or decaf. Whatever I drink it is going to need to be hot to keep me warm, it is really, really cold outside.

Hugs to everyone. Have a wonderful day!

Kay- that is great news about your foot. So sorry that your stomach is upset. Hope you are 100% better today.
I need to get some more rat pics but the LOs move so darn fast.

Nancy- yikes, that must have been scary when you slipped. What a fab and smart attitude to have that you now know that you can slip and be ok.
Hope you don't have to go anywhere today. Stay warm if you do!

xoxo

Morning ladies... I am in and out quickly this morning! I still need to get the suitcase packed and make some breakfast. We are catching the 10:15 ferry and headed out for our little vacation to Harrison Hot Springs! I am so excited!! Hopefully there will be no winds today and no cancellations of the darn ferry! That is the worst part of leaving the Island is relying on those darn ferries! Yesterday was a busy day of :washing: and cleaning and getting the suitcases out of the crawl space. Then DH and I sat down and updated our will, I have been bugging him for years to do this and finally he caved and agreed that it should be done before we head out on our trip. Hooray!!! Then I had to quickly find two people to witness our signatures. Good thing my sister and her DH live close by and they came over to do that! I am sorry that I will not be around for a few days, but I will be unplugging for most of the time and just enjoying the time away! Thankfully the weather is better and the snow is almost all gone now. Temps are mild again and it should be a pleasant few days away! I will talk to you all again on Friday! Have a great week everyone!

Trudy - have a great trip, check your inbox, I sent you a message.

My wkend flew by. Most of the snow is gone now, temps are in the mid 40's so no ice. Things are getting back to normal. We took B to see Dr. Doolittle yesterday and she loved it, we all enjoyed it. D and I spent Sat morning online, checking reviews and pricing for air fryer/toaster oven combos. I love my air fryer pod and since D got his bonus, it was a good time to replace the old one. We got a Cuisinart one, on sale for a good price and had good reviews, I love it. It looks so pretty on the counter, lining up perfectly next to the coffee maker. We had chicken nuggets last night after the movie and they were so good. We watched Bombshell and Dark Water last night. Both were good movies. This morning D goes to get a tooth removed so he's home from work today. Then later they'll probably put a bridge in.

Today I'm working, doing CT stuff, laundry....same old thing. Indoors except for walking Taz so dressed comfy in sweats, t-shirt and hoodie, I feel so cozy.

Chris - glad the boot is coming off today.

Trudy - have a good trip!

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day, everyone.

good day - it is frigid today with the wind chills. And I did not go on the walk today as I am sure there was melting yesterday and refreezing so I opted to be safe. My boys are home as it is Martin Luther King Day and a holiday. Tomorrow they are both back to work. Got my star block done and the next block started. Football games especially the Chiefs game were good and I think the Super Bowl will be good with different teams.

Chris I am so surprised your doctor is in on MLK day. You will be so happy when the boot is off! Have fun with BFF. And the tarantula would be cool to watch as long as it is in a closed container.

Trudy have a great trip!

Rae so glad you got to the movies with B. Thanks for the recommendation with Dolittle. Have fun out with Taz.

Have a great day all!

Late getting in here... DD#1 came over for coffee this morning. They are back from their weekend trip to visit dying sister-in-law. Doesn't sound like she had long now. DD needed some consolation and time to express her feelings. We spent about 2 hours talking, sharing and shed a few tears. She needed that.

I got the laundry sorted and towels into wash before she arrived but only got the 1 load done. Trying to get the rest done as I am about 3 days late getting to them. Yes, the tummy is better today so guess it was a 1 day thing, thank goodness.

No point in trying to get out this afternoon and tomorrow is calling for stormy weather - rain and/or snow - so won't be going anywhere then either. I got my order from BonWorth... 5 pair of pants. Tried them on and they all fit! Just have to deepen the crotch on them. Easy to do with my serger... takes about 3 minutes per pair.

Chris, hoping you got good news vis a vis your boot! Know how much you want out of it! YIKES!!!! No way would I want to babysit a tarantula even in a glass case! Hope your nerves are up to dealing with having one in the house.

Nancy, so glad you didn't fall when you slipped. Glad your recovered your balance so quickly. Great going on getting more of the star blocks done for the quilt.

Rae, glad that B enjoyed going to the movies. Been seeing the ads for Doolittle... looks like it might a fun one to see.

Trudy, enjoy your trip. Hope you got off the island with no problems.

Time to get back to the laundry... another load is ready for the dryer.

Hello dears,
We have proverb: "Morning shows what the day will be.", I'm not sure do english have equal maybe you say ''Morning makes the day'', I'm not pretty sure. I strongly hopes it's valid only for the concrete day, because what if it's spread on first week from first month, at first year of the decade?! This January was very difficult and I'm strongly hope to not dictate the whole decade! I was prepared and knew what to expect as the important points was easily visible with the end of the previous year. The mental setting up make it not easier but able to be endured. In addition I have to work harder, and have this seasonal thing that Chris often tells us (and I'm still not find that lamp), but nobody here believe in it and they thinks that this is just laziness.
I have no creative mojo for scrap or even to take some photos. But I'm expecting the Chinese new year, hoping that being new beginning for so many other people will allows me to restart my decade too!
Till I was browsing at IG (the last island of happiness), I found this painting by Stephen Hanson.
mid_311719_735199.jpg

Details at their face expressions are so accurate present that it's freaking. I can immediately recognise by the name my childs. The painter is change the color from gray to orange, but I guess this is because of the copyright issues , as I'm not allow him to represent my kiddos L O L LOL. I was literally "WHAT?!" ... the coincidence is so detailed, as it is striking! I couldn't believe that somewhere, someone stranger thinks that my life is cute! The best compliment I'm ever received!
I wish I could have this painting, but unfortunately it cost monthly income. It's even more expensive than my TV, so it's not in a my possibilities. But the big price is totally deserved, as the art always must be more expensive than the major appliances we surround us in this modern world!!! Maybe I'll could buy it on card for some of mine holidays, will see!

Chris, hope the grocery shopping went well! Or even better to do it online! Be strict with the boots now when weather is better for stays in home! You must be fully recovered for the cruise!
I have no words for your mom's stubborn and I'm strongly impressed by your patience and maturity as the situation is, to put it mildly, complicated!

Nancy, I'm laugh on your comment for the 'late' wake up as this is my usual time. I just hate mornings don't see need to struggle earlier, when I'm work from home and so much more productive at night time. Anyway! Good that this change not messed up your day! Right now I'm watching this Oscars movie selection that they makes every year. It's pits that we have to wait movies to be realized so slowly here! The walk sounds awesome!

Rae, puff, thank goodness that you was able to found these photos! Its would be terrible to lose photos made with so much passion and care!

Kay, busy day for you, I bet you was happy to see so many tasks finished at the end of the day!

Trudy , have fun on your trip and bring us lot of photos!!!

Jean, looks like you have busy month too! :tea:
