Happy Monday!

I am feeling pretty good about my aspirations of being more organized in my life. I have been able to stick pretty close to my To-Do list. I messed around with the Paprika recipe app. There is also a bookmarklet that I can use on my desktop. I am saving the recipes to my phone and then I edit them to add the categories. You can even "star" the recipes and add them to your Favorites. It's going to be a process before I can use it for meal planning/grocery shopping but I don't think it's going to be difficult to get through it.
I also signed up for the Beta of GoodNotes for Windows- that going to be a learning twofer since you need to use a tablet and pen.
And lastly- I am starting yoga *today* Yes. I am not giving myself any excuses. I was going to start tomorrow since I have an eye dr appt this morning. But if I can't squeeze in a 10-minute session today, then pffft to me. I am going to start off with 10 minutes routines with a goal of every day. Like I said-- no excuses for not being able to find 10 minutes, right?

I am going to do quick personals now, I need to get in the shower early. Dr appt is at 10 am and it's a few miles away from Caitlyn's work. If she doesn't have any appts, I am going to pop in and maybe spend some time with her during her lunch hour. If I have time for yoga I will do that before I leave. If not, then when I get back.

Will you all do me a big favor? Help me stay accountable, please ♥ I am so tired of being lazy and cranky and I know this is a step in the right direction.
Thank you!!

@LSlycord I meant to tell you and @Cherylndesigns that Caitlyn and Tom gave me a copy of their recipe book for Christmas. And your recipes are in it ♥♥ She asked yesterday how to pronounce your last name and I have no clue if I am saying it right. I say is Sly-cord. She thought it was slick-ord.
So funny how many, many years I have known you and have no idea how to say your last name LOL!!
*fingers and toes for Syd with the career fair* And is Shaun settling in anymore with his school routine? Less complaining at least?
How awesome to be sorting through those pictures. My mom wanted to come up here to visit, but everyone's Story Projects make me want to go down to her and look through the photos she has.

@BrightEyes Thank you for the info on the ear reset- I am going to copy them and email it to my dad. Can't hurt to try right?
I never thought I would be so excited about a sofa but I will def. take pics!!

@Cherylndesigns goats and dogs-- can't get much better than that *G*
What?? The app is $8/month? I didn't download anything, just did it on the computer, I def. didn't put any payment info anywhere. I am going to go back and look it carefully, thx for the heads up!

A week!!!!!??? Holy cow!!

@tanteva so sorry to hear that your ear is still bothering you :( I hope that things settle for you and that you can come back more often. I miss you making fun of me.

@BrightEyes I remember you saying that about Bitmoji, didn't think of it using a real photo of me with the one I used the other day. At least with Bitmoji, you don't upload photos. Thanks for reminding us again. I am always wary of the "games" on FB - well most of them- but since we are talking about photos... I don't do any of them. Cait and Tom showed us an app that takes your photos and shows you what your baby would look like- It was hysterical, the babies looked nothing like either of them aside from having Tom's large head- then I remembered about apps scraping photos and data, told them to delete everything off their phones and find out what the app does with the info.
Sad and scary that you have to think that way :(

Drat, Scott just got in the shower. That's fine, I can go over to the Gallery while I wait.
Hugs!

Good morning ladies. Coming to you from the office because it is freezing cold...again. But getting to mid-60's so not too bad. And then we go to the 70's beginning tomorrow so yay for that! I am starting to feel organized again...still a ways to go but definitely feeling like I have some idea of what is going on around me and that feels good!

Spent a lot of time talking with Sydney yesterday. She had gone to a tennis match...they were giving away free t-shirts and she will go to any event to get a free t-shirt. Then they went to a women's basketball game. When she got home, she cooked chicken with cheesy rice and mango. She FaceTimes me while she cooks and eats. We have definitely found our rhythm with her being away at school. She also wanted to know when we were coming down so right now the plan is to take her to lunch on Friday. Her classes this semester are mainly in the morning so that works well.

Shaun, on the other hand, has decided that he wants to quit his job. He is just unhappy right now. I told him to go ahead and quit as long as he stays focused on his school work and finds an activity to do. There is tae kwondo near our house and I'm pushing pretty hard for him to get out and try something like that. He needs to be around people instead of spending his time on video games.

It is so hard to watch your kid when they are unhappy. As we all know...

Anyway, I'll be back for personals shortly. Need another cup of coffee first.

@faerywings what a fun gift from Cait and Tom. I love recipe books. And you have been saying my name correctly all of these years. "Sly" like a fox and "Cord" like an electrical cord. Funny that we have never talked about that in all of this time. When I get to that stage of my "About Me Book", I must remember to write a page about how my last name is pronounced. That won't be for awhile yet. I still have things to talk about in the 0-5 year old range. I do hope that you will go to your mom's and get some pictures of you when you were younger. I guarantee that you will have the best time talking to your mom about memories from your childhood. Good for you for starting the yoga again...happy to help with the accountability.

@BrightEyes hope that your daughter was able to make it yesterday and that you had a good visit! I had never heard of "resetting the rocks in your ears" until I visited my cousin this fall. She has suffered with vertigo recently and the doctor gave her the same advice. I guess that it is good that something helps!

@Cherylndesigns isn't that crazy that they would think that anyone would pay $8 a week for that app?! Oh my! How far away do you think those goats and dogs live from you? And good for Adrienne for sending Roger back to deal with the store and the rug! Why get aggravated if you don't have to...

@tanteva sorry that the ear is still giving you trouble and sorry that working two days a week is limiting your time scrapping but I'm sure the extra money is nice!

Good morning. It was so nice to walk into the kitchen this morning and see a clean island and countertops. Didn't realize it was bothering me until it was all cleaned off. Thank goodness for the dishwasher so I can put dirty dishes in there until I have enough for a full load.

Think I will be moving the printer down from the top shelf on desk to the desktop to make it easier to sit while I scan in photos. Been having so much fun with the My Story pages that I want to get more pages made for it. But... have to get the photos scanned in first. Found a couple of photos of sister and I with my Dad's mother that I didn't know about. She died before I was 6. I have been keeping the door to the craft room closed so I don't have to see the boxes of photos and albums piled on the cutting table when I go down the hallway... but I know they are there and it is bugging me. This will be a good project to work on this week as it is going to be rainy, colder, then snow off and on this week.

No, DD#3 didn't make it down yesterday. There were scattered rain showers and a cold wind blowing. The doggy coat isn't a priority project - we will look at it when she is able to get down here. I spent the afternoon snuggled under a warm fleece throw reading. Tried to watch a DVD movie but the noise bothered me - so went back to quiet reading which was restful.

Chris, hope the vertigo PT movements help your dad when he needs it. It really help me. I vote for you going down to your folks and see what family photos she has... and talk to her and your dad about their memories and when you were little. My kids are really enjoying reading my stories.

Linda, how neat that you facetime with Syd while she was cooking and eating. It is a way of being together and sharing time.

Morning everyone, its another rainy grey morning here on the Island. Oh well it will be a good day to get some scrapping done! Yesterday was a trip to Costco to stock up on a few things, then got it all put away. Shortly after SIL Linda called and asked if we could come and help her and her boyfriend unload the new washer and dryer that she bought. What??? Seems her dryer bit the dust on Saturday, so she decided to purchase a whole new set. This new place is becoming a money pit!! However I suppose that appliances don't last forever and these ones that came with her new place were probably pretty old. So of course we helped her out and my DH got them all hooked up for her. Sadly Linda's boyfriend is not much of a handyman, so more work for my Gary to do. SIL was very happy to have his help! I got the laundry all done at our house and the bathrooms all cleaned up so today all I really need to do is vacuum and wash the floors. Not sure if I will hear from Heather today, as the boys both have dentist appointments. Their dog Poochy got neutered on Friday, but they say he was doing well and hopefully the boys are not bothering him to much to play and they let him rest up, poor guy! They are hoping that this will settle him down a bit, he is one active dog! Not much else going on here except for me getting started on a painting that I should have started months ago. It has been one crazy winter but things are better now and I feel more like things are getting back to normal. I was looking forward to our hike on Wednesday, but got an email saying it has been cancelled as the hike leaders are both dealing with Covid. (will it ever be over)??? So darn, perhaps I will ask SIL if she would like to go on a hike with me instead. There are lots of trails that she has never tried. Ok I will grab another coffee and will be back for personals.

@faerywings - Wow that is great that you are going to commit to doing Yoga!! I will try to help keep you accountable! I know how hard it is to get back into an exercise routine and I really have to get busy with getting out there more on hikes and walks. I was really hoping to get a Peloton Bike at Christmas, but DH purchased a new 4K 65 inch television and new soundbar instead. I was not impressed!! His reasoning was that the bike would just sit there and collect dust. Grrrrr!! I guess that's why I got the new iPadPro as a compensation gift. MEN!!!! Oh well maybe he was right, it might not have gotten as much use as it should. It might have been a very expensive coat hanger LOL. I need to let that go! I hope your Dr. appointment goes well and that you get to see Caitlyn over her lunch hour! Say hi to her from all of us here!

@LSlycord - Sure hope that the temps warm up for you! You must be anxious to get back into the pool, wish I could!! I am happy to know that I have been pronouncing your name properly LOL. I know that my last name gets mispronounced all the time! My last name is Towle, pronounced like Toll bridge, however I get Towel, Toolie, and all kinds of other variations LOL. It was easier before I got married, my last name was Clarkson, pretty easy to pronounce ;). How nice that you and Syd have found your rhythm but sorry to hear that Shaun is not happy with his job! Hope he finds something he loves to do, our son loved his Karate classes and went for them for years!

@BrightEyes - Glad that you got your clutter all put away! It drives me batty when things are not in their place and there is clutter on the countertop! Hope that you get your craft area tidy too, but I suppose its hard to go through all the photos and get the scanning done without having the mess. I am sure you will deal with it when you can. Nice to spend the day in the quiet reading under a nice warm throw blanket! Sounds like a little bit of heaven to me!!

@tanteva - sorry you are having some pain in your ear! Hope that you feel better soon!

@Cherylndesigns - OMG the dogs and the goats together, how cute is that??!! Yes I saw that if you subscribed to that profile pic app you got charged big time!! I did not, whew!!

Ok I gotta get off of here and get my photoshop opened so I can get going on a page today! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. The computer was unplugged yesterday and am heading out now to drop it off for diagnostic testing. It's going to be weird not having my PC for x number of days. I am used to going upstairs to my office area and having my quiet time to scrap, play on the internet and watch videos or just read quietly while D blares the TV and his ipad (at the same time). I have my laptop but it doesn't feel right to unplug it and bring it upstairs. I will sit with headphones on and use my laptop off and on throughout the day and pretend I'm sitting quietly alone LOL.

Wish my luck with the PC. I probably won't hear anything for at least 1-3 days but who knows. I'll check in again later today. BFN

Good afternoon, all.

Coming to you from a balmy 69 degrees right now can you believe that??? We're hoping the cold is behind us, but keep reminding ourselves that it's the only the ymiddle of January. I mean, how lucky are we that it's this warm right now? I guess this is the typical winter here. That year we got caught in the Polar Vortex was an anomaly. Thankfully, we haven't had anything like that since.

I knew I had to tell all of you about the charge for that avi app!!! I signed up for the the three free days, then got a notification from Apple that the charge would be $7.99 a week, not a month!! Yikes!! That's highway robbery. I do pay for a few apps, but they're like 4.99 a month, and I only have a few. LR Mobile is that price, but I use it all the time.

Chris @faerywings it IS sad, but we need to be so careful with some of these apps - you know somebody is collection data and I NEVER give them permission to access my location or my photos or microphone. WHY do they need my location, anyway??? I've seen that APP about what your children would look like - I bet the kids had fun with it, though. I'm glad you saw my warning about that app price!

Trudy @taxed4ever you and your Gary are always so busy - helping family or just doing things around your house. You two must have lots of energy. I'm glad you saw my warnng about the price of that app!

Linda @LSlycord how fun to FT with Syd while she was cooking and eating. I love FT for staying in touch with the kids who don't live here. We're starting to FT with my great granddaugter now - she's very talkative and says all of our names. it's a lot of fun to watch her playing with her toyw while we're talking to her. She wants to show us everything. Haha

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like you're busy again. I always loved having a dedicated office/scraproom so I could just go out and shut my door. My office now is an anti-room off the MB so I have no doors to shut. I love it though. When we were building the house, we had them put an extension on the back that would be my office. I have a window in here and my own door out to the patio. It's not very big, but it's mine.I could put a curtain up to close it off, but I don't want to stop the flow of the whole MB.

Rae @bcgal00 hope your computer isn't gone for too long. UGH.

Lastly, I'm so glad you all loved my dogs and gots pictures. I had to share them because I wanted you to see the whole "herd". I hope I can scrap them soon.

XOXO

Good Evening to All!
I'm back after the busy week of cleaning and cooking for our weekend belated Christmas gathering! Everyone left for home yesterday. The weekend always goes so fast when we are all together! The talking and reminiscing is constant! I love listening to my kids say, "Do you remember when......?"

I crashed in front of the computer yesterday afternoon. And after sharing the pictures with my girls from the weekend I actually got the first challenge done! But I was so tired I ended up going to bed before I got it posted!

Today was spent in my jammies straightening everything up after the weekend! I washed dishes, swept the floors, did the laundry, organized a few drawers and shelves and even started a new puzzle and am now relaxing in front of the computer. I posted the layout I did for the Color Palette Challenge.

I'm gonna close out for now and get my LO posted on my social media, etc. Feeling the need to get some dirt pudding that was left over from the weekend, too! ;)

Nite nite!
